The historic and primarily Latino 2006 immigrant rights protest wave occurred in response to proposed federal anti-immigrant legislation (H.R. 4437). Research on the unprecedented series of demonstrations suggests that the draconian and racialized nature of the bill helps explain why it incited large-scale collective action. Utilising a new survey with a considerable oversample of Latino respondents, the 2016 Collaborative Multiracial Post-Election Survey (CMPS), this paper investigates the role that collective identities, racialisation, and social networks play in Latino support for contemporary immigrant rights activism. To do so, we incorporate measures such as linked fate, perceptions of anti-immigrant sentiments, knowing undocumented people, and concerns about immigration enforcement policies. The results of our analysis indicate that some of the same factors that influenced Latino engagement in the 2006 mobilisations, such as identity and racialisation, concerns over enforcement, and social networks, continue to impact Latino support for contentious politics on behalf of the foreign-born. We also find evidence that political party and past protest activity, play a significant role in explaining levels of support for activism. Drug use disorders (DUDs) can substantially increase the costs of health care, especially when left untreated. Yet, not much is known about the specific types of medical services that give rise to these cost differences. This study aimed to estimate the medical costs of beneficiaries with DUDs enrolled in the Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) program in Puerto Rico using claims data. These were compared to those of a matched group of patients without DUDs. On average, each beneficiary with a DUD incurred in $4539 annually on medical services compared to $2601 in the matched comparison group, a cost differential of $1938. Close to half of these additional medical costs (43.4%) were generated in the physical health services sector. Counts of service claims were also higher for beneficiaries with DUDs than for beneficiaries without DUDs in all service types, except in outpatient and laboratory services for physical health. A host of access strategies and treatment modalities should be tested to assess the extent to which providing adequate access and adequate treatment for a DUD can contribute to cost savings. This article provides a descriptive comparative study on jihadist terrorism in United States and Western Europe on a sample of 114 incidents between 11 September 2001 and December 2013. At the same time, the article inquires about the decreasing lethality of terrorist actions in Europe and U.S. territory since the London bombings in July 2005. This is explained by the U.S and EU counter-terrorist response and the change in the political agenda of some terrorist groups. At the same time, another key factor, which acts as an intervening variable, is the strength or weakness of large terror organizations that articulate part of the jihadist membership in the United States and Western Europe. Through a combination of SEM-EDS technique could study a fragment of tattooed and non tattooed skin of the Lady of Cao, a woman of high social class Moche (Mochica early). EDS probe applied to the area with tattoo indicates the use of ferrous oxide (FeO). According to the information and finding archaeobotany tattooed mummies are holding fruits of "Jagua" Genipa americana L., is possible that this fruit of wild origin have served as raw material for use in tattooing the Lady of Cao. Sequencing of dengue virus type 1 (DENV-1) strains isolated in Key West/Monroe County, Florida, indicate endemic transmission for >2 years of a distinct and predominant sublineage of the American-African genotype. DENV-1 strains isolated elsewhere in Florida grouped within a separate Central American lineage. Findings indicate endemic transmission of DENV into the continental United States. Dengue is the disease caused by 1 of 4 distinct, but closely related dengue viruses (DENV-1--4) that are transmitted by Aedes spp. mosquito vectors. It is the most common arboviral disease worldwide, with the greatest burden in tropical and sub-tropical regions. In the absence of effective prevention and control measures, dengue is projected to increase in both disease burden and geographic range. Given its increasing importance as an etiology of fever in the returning traveler or the possibility of local transmission in regions in the United States with competent vectors, as well as the risk for large outbreaks in endemic US territories and associated states, clinicians should understand its clinical presentation and be familiar with appropriate testing, triage, and management of patients with dengue. Control and prevention efforts reached a milestone in June 2021 when the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended Dengvaxia for routine use in children aged 9 to 16 years living in endemic areas with laboratory confirmation of previous dengue virus infection. Dengvaxia is the first vaccine against dengue to be recommended for use in the United States and one of the first to require laboratory testing of potential recipients to be eligible for vaccination. In this review, we outline dengue pathogenesis, epidemiology, and key clinical features for front-line clinicians evaluating patients presenting with dengue. We also provide a summary of Dengvaxia efficacy, safety, and considerations for use as well as an overview of other potential new tools to control and prevent the growing threat of dengue .
