The article covers current issues of one of the most acute global ecological problems, namely, fresh water supply of the population in Uzbekistan. Research was made on the water deposits in the mountains and rivers of Uzbekistan. The geographical position of Uzbekistan is favorable for the development of the economy and provision of high quality life for its people. The modern ecology state is in the hands of all humanity. The authors dwell upon just one of the environmental issues – water preservation and consumption by the inhabitants and industry of the country. Some economical and technical recommendations were given to save water in everyday life. The best teacher for people is their own bank account, thus people can be taught to save money by paying extra money. This is a paradox, but it works. Some of the recommendations are as follows: – Installing meters in every flat or house, for every single waterpipe; – Monitoring streets ans parks irrigation sprinklers; – Using refillable water bottles; – Promoting arrangement of wells in private people's houses for spreading water on green lawns – Increasing payment for water consumption. The step is critically unfavourable. – Installing new generation plumbing equipmentat home and in public rest rooms. – Working on people's minds. Only changing mentality will cardinally change the situation. The work starts in kidergartens and never finishes. At present, states, under the auspices of the UN or on a bilateral basis, organize interaction with the aim of protecting the human habitat, flora and fauna. Such interaction is based on a number of principles of human activity generally recognized by the world community in the use of the natural environment. They are contained partly in interstate treaties and acts, in the normative documents of international organizations and are summarized in the decisions of the most significant international conferences, fully or partially devoted to the protection of the environment and the regulation of cooperation between states and peoples in this area.
