Abstract

The article presents a field experiment which examines the allelopathic potential of cucumber or Cucumis sativus on barnyardgrass or Echinochloa crus-galli in Vietnam. It highlights several methods and tests to determine the allelopathic potential of a local cucumber variety on the germination and growth of barnyardgrass. The experiment's laboratory and greenhouse bioassay and determination of phenolic acids in cucumber are discussed.
