The article narrates the assassination of former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln on April 14, 1865 at Ford's Theater in Washington D.C. At approximately 10:20 in the evening, a prominent American actor John Wilkes Booth snuck up behind the president as he watched a play and shot him in the back of the head. A young doctor named Charles Leale attended the president and decided to bring him to a house where he could thoroughly examined and treated. After a very few moments, the Lincoln's family physician named Robert King Stone arrived and took over. However, it was a hopeless case and the president died the next morning. In connection, an excerpt of Stone's testimonies regarding the incident is also presented.
