With the purpose of determining the role of orgasm in the sexuality of women in Yucatán, Mexico, a questionnaire exploring aspects of female sexuality (including orgasm), was applied to 160 women between the ages of 18 and 50, with different characteristics, and with or without having an active sex life. Results show that most of the women who answered the questionnaire described orgasm as something nice; however, certain myths appear to still be present in female sexuality, such as the idea of having simultaneous orgasms with one's partner or the need to have a partner to experience it. Findings show little practical/theoretical knowledge on the G spot and the sensations that result form its stimulation. Therefore, researchers could verify that women are experimenting more and more with their own sexuality, but certain information and knowledge on the topic is still absent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
