Simple Summary: The Spectacled Fulvetta (Fulvetta ruficapilla sordidior) is an endemic bird species of the mountains in southwest China. The breeding biology of this species is largely unknown. In order to describe the breeding biology of this species, this study was conducted for two years on Humashan Mountain, a hill mainly covered with secondary forest located at the eastern marginal of Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province in Southwest China. A total of 16 nests were found, mainly located in dense shrubs. The breeding season is from March to June, with its peak period from April to May. The clutch size is 2–3, most of which are 3 eggs. The incubation period is 13–14 days, and the nesting period is 12–14 days. Both parents participated in the breeding process. We found a total of 16 nests, of which only 11 were active; 5 were successfully fledged with at least one (45.45%). This study is the first report on the breeding biology of the Spectacled Fulvetta, which has scientific value for the understanding of this species and other relative species in the Fulvetta genus. This bird was found to initiate egg-laying mainly in March, and most nestlings fledged in late April and May. There were 16 nests found in total, which were located mainly in the dense shrubs at a height of 0.99 ± 0.40 m (n = 15). Of the 11 active nests, clutch size averaged 2.73 ± 0.45 (n = 11). Focal observations were made on nests; the incubation lasted for 13.67 ± 0.47 days (n = 3) with a notably high nest attendance, i.e., eggs were incubated 84.23% of the observation time. Nestlings fledged at 13.00 ± 0.71 days (n = 4), and parents feeding frequency increased as the nestlings grew. Plant latex is sequestered in laticiferous structures and exuded immediately from damaged plant tissues. The primary function of plant latex is related to defense responses to their natural enemies. Euphorbia jolkinii Boiss. is a perennial herbaceous plant that greatly threaten the biodiversity and ecological integrity of northwest Yunnan, China. Nine triterpenes (1–9), four non-protein amino acids (10–13) and three glycosides (14–16) including a new isopentenyl disaccharide (14), were isolated and identified from the latex of E. jolkinii. Their structures were established on the basis of comprehensive spectroscopic data analyses. Bioassay revealed that meta-tyrosine (10) showed significant phytotoxic activity, inhibiting root and shoot growth of Zea mays, Medicago sativa, Brassica campestris, and Arabidopsis thaliana, with EC50 values ranging from 4.41 ± 1.08 to 37.60 ± 3.59 µg/mL. Interestingly, meta-tyrosine inhibited the root growth of Oryza sativa, but promoted their shoot growth at the concentrations below 20 µg/mL. meta-Tyrosine was found to be the predominant constituent in polar part of the latex extract from both stems and roots of E. jolkinii, but undetectable in the rhizosphere soil. In addition, some triterpenes showed antibacterial and nematicidal effects. While investigating the diversity of lignicolous fungi in Yunnan Province, China, six fresh collections of Torulaceae were collected and identified based on morphological examination and phylogenetic analyses of combined LSU, ITS, SSU, tef1-α, and rpb2 sequence data. Two new species, viz. Neopodoconis yunnanensis and Torula suae, and three new records, viz. T. canangae (new freshwater habitat record), T. masonii (new host record), and T. sundara (new freshwater habitat record) are reported. Introduction: Hypertension (HTN) is a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Identifying new risk factors for hypertension is crucial. This study aims to determine the predictive value of fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in the development of hypertension. Methods: In this study, we examined 16,026 individuals without diabetes and other cardiovascular risk factors who were underwent annual screening at the People's Hospital of Yuxi, Yunnan, China from 2013 to 2016. The participants were divided into two groups: normoglycemic and prediabetic. Normoglycemia was defined as having an HbA1c level of less than 5.7% and an FPG level of less than 5.6 mmol/ L. Prediabetes was defined according to the ADA criteria, which includes having an HbA1c level between 5.7% and 6.5%, or an impaired fasting glucose level between 5.6 mmol/L and 7.0 mmol/L. The participants were further divided into four subgroups based on their FPG and HbA1c levels: normoglycemia, impaired HbA1c only, FPG only, and both parameters impaired. Results: The cohort study was conducted on 16,026 participants from Yunnan, China, consisting of 60.6% males and 39.4% females, with a mean age of 44.6 ± 12.5 years. The study revealed that prediabetes was independently associated with an increased risk for HTN (OR 1.53, 95% CI 1.41~1.67, P < 0.001). The analysis of different subgroups of HbA1c and FPG showed that FPG was a better predictor of HTN than HbA1c, regardless of the group. We present optimized physical parameters of the active eclipsing binary system USNO-B1.0 1387-0467554 discovered recently in Yunnan–Hong Kong wide-field photometric (YNHK) survey, based on the analysis of its two colour light curves and low resolution spectra obtained at Yunnan Observatories, China. Its spot distributions are derived by means of the Wilson–Devinney code, using photometric data of the YNHK survey from 2016 to 2021. There exist active longitude belts for the spot activities on the primary star, for which the effect of tidal force seems dominant comparing with the one of common magnetic field of the binary system. We have investigated its chromospheric activities through the indicators including Hα, Hβ, CaII H&K, and HeI D3 lines covered by the low resolution spectroscopic observations. There are obvious spatial correlations between the magnetic activities in its photosphere and chromosphere. The E H α/ E H β values suggest that both plages and prominences led to the emissions seen in the Balmer lines at most phases. A prominence structure appeared around the phase of 0.8 on 2018 October 25 and evolved in November and December, 2018. The spectra demonstrate that there were frequent flare events in the system. Ganoderma is a globally distributed genus that encompasses species with forestry ecological, medicinal, economic, and cultural importance. Despite the importance of this fungus, the studies on the species diversity of Ganoderma in Yunnan Province, China (YPC) have poorly been carried out. During this study, opportunistic sampling was used to collect 21 specimens of Ganoderma from YPC. Morphology and multigene phylogeny of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions, the large subunit of nuclear ribosomal RNA gene (nrLSU), the translation elongation factor 1-α gene (TEF1-α), and the second largest subunit of RNA polymerase II (RPB2) were used to identify them. Morphological and molecular characterization of the 21 specimens showed that they belong to 18 species of Ganoderma, of which three are novel viz. G. artocarpicola, G. obscuratum and G. yunnanense. Ganoderma artocarpicola is characterized by the sessile and concrescent basidiomata, reddish brown to yellowish brown pileus surface, heterogeneous context, wavy margin, and ovoid basidiospores. Ganoderma obscuratum is distinguished by small pores (6-9 per mm), dorsolaterally sub-stipitate basidiomata which become greyish-brown when dry, and narrow ellipsoid basidiospores. Ganoderma yunnanense is characterized by cream color pore surface and context, centrally to laterally stipitate basidiomata with reddish-brown to violet-brown strongly laccate pileus surface, and broadly ellipsoid basidiospores. With the help of an extensive literature survey and the results of this study, a checklist of 32 Ganoderma species from YPC was established, which accounts for 71.11% of the known species in China. The lightcurves of asteroids are essential for determining their physical characteristics, including shape, spin, size, and surface composition. However, most asteroids are missing some of these basic physical parameters due to lack of photometric data. Although a few telescopes or surveys are specially designed for photometric lightcurve observations of asteroids, many ground-based and space-based sky surveys for hunting new exoplanets, transient events, etc. should capture numerous small Solar system objects. This will benefit the physical studies of these objects. In order to extract data of these moving objects from time-domain photometric surveys, we have developed a new method using the model tree algorithm in the field of machine learning. A dedicated module is built to automatically identify moving objects in data set and extract their photometric and astrometric data. As the first application of this novel method, we have analysed data in five fields of the Yunnan-Hong Kong wide field photometric (YNHK) survey, from which 538 lightcurves of 211 asteroids are successfully extracted. Meanwhile, we also tested the method based on the data from NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, and the result proves the reliability of our method. With derived lightcurves of 13 asteroids from the YNHK survey, we have determined their synodic spin periods, among which the periods of four asteroids are estimated for the first time. Background: Anxiety and sleep problems are common comorbidities among outpatients living in high-altitude areas. Network analysis is a novel method to investigate the interaction and the association between symptoms across diverse disorders. This study used network analysis to investigate the network structure symptoms of anxiety and sleep problems among outpatients in high-altitude areas, and to explore the differences in symptom associations in various sex, age, educational levels and employment groups. Methods: The data was collected from the Sleep Medicine Center of The First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province from November 2017 to January 2021 with consecutive recruitment (N = 11,194). Anxiety and sleep problems were measured by the Chinese version of the seven-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) respectively. Central symptoms were identified based on centrality indices and bridge symptoms were identified with bridge indices. The difference of network structures in various sex, age, educational levels and employment groups were also explored. Results: Among all the cases, 6,534 (58.37%; 95% CI: 57.45-59.29%) reported experiencing anxiety (GAD-7 total scores ≥ 5), and 7,718 (68.94%; 95% CI: 68.08-69.80%) reported experiencing sleep problems (PSQI total scores ≥ 10). Based on the results of network analysis, among participants, "Nervousness", "Trouble relaxing", "Uncontrollable worry" were the most critical central symptoms and bridge symptoms within the anxiety and sleep problems network structure. The adjusted network model after controlling for covariates was significantly correlated with the original (r = 0.75, P = 0.46). Additionally, there were significant differences in edge weights in the comparisons between sex, age and educational levels groups (P < 0.001), while the employed and unemployed groups did not show significant differences in edge weights (P > 0.05). Conclusions: In the anxiety and sleep problems network model, among outpatients living in high-altitude areas, nervousness, uncontrollable worry, and trouble relaxing were the most central symptoms and bridge symptoms. Moreover, there were significant differences between various sex, age and educational levels. Background: Cervical cancer is the fourth most diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death, and it still poses a crippling threat to women's health. China launched the National Cervical Cancer Screening Program for Rural Women in 2009, and an increasing number of cervical cancer patients have been detected. Health-related quality of life is not only the end point of cancer research but is also related to socioeconomic and clinical factors and has received an increasing amount of attention. In light of the characteristics of the Yunnan nationality, we conducted cross-sectional research to assess and explore the health-related quality of life in both Han and ethnic minority patients. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from January 2020 to May 2021 at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Kunming University/Yunnan Cancer Hospital. Patients, including 100 Han patients and 100 ethnic minorities, were interviewed using the FACT-Cx questionnaire within 3 months of receiving treatment. Results: Patients of Han ethnicity and ethnic minorities were comparable in both sociodemographic and clinical features. The total FACT-Cx scores were 139.38 ± 9.83 and 134.39 ± 13.63 in Han and ethnic minority patients, respectively (P < 0.05). Significant differences were shown in physical well-being, emotional well-being and the FACT-Cx subscale between the Han and ethnic minority groups. Independent predictors of the FACT-Cx scale were ethnicity, educational level, participation in the National Cervical Cancer Screening Program for Rural Areas (NCCSPRA) and clinical stage. Conclusions: The results of our study imply that the HRQOL of Han patients is better than that of ethnic minority patients. Thus, clinicians and related health workers should pay more attention to the HRQOL of cervical cancer patients, especially for ethnic minority patients, and provide psychosocial interventions as much as possible to improve their HRQOL. Policies should also aim to strengthen health education regarding cervical cancer and expand the coverage of the NCCSPRA among those who are ethnic minorities, are older and have low educational levels. Accurately estimating forest biomass based on spaceborne lidar on a county scale is challenging due to the incomplete coverage of spaceborne lidar data. Therefore, this research aims to interpolate GEDI spots and explore the feasibility of approaches to improving Quercus forest biomass estimation accuracy in the alpine mountains of Yunnan Province, China. This paper uses GEDI data as the main information source and a typical mountainous area in Shangri-La, northwestern Yunnan Province, China, as the study area. Based on the pre-processing of light spots. A total of 38 parameters were extracted from the canopy and vertical profiles of 1307 light spots in the study area, and the polygon data of the whole study area were obtained from the light spot data through Kriging interpolation. Multiple linear regression, support vector regression, and random forest were used to establish biomass models. The results showed that the optimal model is selected using the semi-variance function for the Kriging interpolation of each parameter of GEDI spot, the optimal model of modis_nonvegetated is a linear model, and the optimal model for rv, sensitivity, and modis_treecover is the exponential model. Analysis of the correlation between 39 parameters extracted from GEDI L2B and three topographic factors with oak biomass showed that sensitivity had a highly significant positive correlation (p < 0.01) with Quercus biomass, followed by a significant negative correlation (p < 0.05) with aspect and modis_nonvegation. After variable selection, the estimation model of Quercus biomass established using random forest had R2 = 0.91, RMSE = 19.76 t/hm2, and the estimation accuracy was better than that of multiple linear regression and support vector regression. The estimated total biomass of Quercus in the study area was mainly distributed between 26.48 and 257.63 t/hm2, with an average value of 114.33 t/hm2 and a total biomass of about 1.26 × 107 t/hm2. This study obtained spatial consecutive information using Kriging interpolation. It provided a new research direction for estimating other forest structural parameters using GEDI data. Reliable earthquake fatality prediction is an important reference for post-earthquake emergency response efforts. Seismic data are the basis for constructing earthquake casualty prediction models, but the selection and evaluation of earthquake features are more critical due to the scarcity of destructive earthquake samples. In order to make full use of the high-dimensional survey data of destructive earthquake disasters in the Earthquake Reports in Yunnan Province since 1992, and effectively use it to improve the ability to predict the number of earthquake casualties, this paper proposes a hybrid feature importance evaluation method based on four conventional feature contribution methods (IG, PPMCC, SRCC and MDI), ranking the importance of 63 features that affect the number of earthquake casualties in Yunnan Province, and reducing the feature dimension accordingly. Then, cross-validation is used to compare the accuracy of the four machine models before and after dimensionality reduction. We found that (1) among the 10 features with the highest hybrid importance, there were 8 population distribution features, 1 geological hazard feature (number of landslides) and 1 damage degree feature (highest intensity of earthquakes); (2) the feature dimensionality reduction based on the importance of hybrid features can effectively improve the prediction accuracy of machine learning models; and (3) in the comparison of several methods, the Particle Swarm Optimized Support Vector Machine model had the highest prediction accuracy, with an R2 over 0.934. The research results showed that this method can significantly improve the prediction accuracy of the machine learning model and has some reference value for earthquake emergency rescue and post-disaster reconstruction work. Three new species of Distoseptispora, viz. D. mengsongensis, D. nabanheensis, and D. sinensis, are described and illustrated from specimens collected on dead branches of unidentified plants in Yunnan Province, China. Phylogenetic analyses of LSU, ITS, and TEF1 sequence data, using maximum-likelihood (ML) and Bayesian inference (BI), reveal the taxonomic placement of D. mengsongensis, D. nabanheensis, and D. sinensis within Distoseptispora. Both morphological observations and molecular phylogenetic analyses supported D. mengsongensis, D. nabanheensis, and D. sinensis as three new taxa. To extend our knowledge of the diversity of Distoseptispora-like taxa, a list of recognized species of Distoseptispora with major morphological features, habitat, host, and locality is also provided. The Anninghe fault forms the eastern boundary of the Sichuan‐Yunnan block in Southwest China and has been identified as an earthquake gap zone. This study intends to construct the upper crustal shear wave velocity (Vs) structure beneath the Anninghe fault to understand its seismotectonics and potential large earthquake hazards. We deployed a dense seismic array along the southern central Anninghe fault valley. From the 3‐month continuous records, we calculated vertical‐component cross‐correlation functions (CCFs). However, the surface wave signals in the CCFs are intensely interfered by near zero‐time‐lag noise. We proposed a mode separation method based on the high‐resolution linear Radon transform, which suppressed the interfered noise and greatly enhanced the surface wave signals for ambient noise tomography of the Vs structure. The fine upper crustal structure reveals a distinct narrow low‐velocity belt within a depth of 3 km beneath the Anninghe fault zone. At deeper depths (4.5–8 km), the narrow low‐velocity belt shifts to the east and correlates with the distribution of local earthquakes. Combining previous results with our new findings, we presented a seismotectonic model of the southern central Anninghe fault, which interprets the narrow low‐velocity belt as a water‐contained fracture zone that forms a seismogenic zone at deeper depths under transpression. In addition, we demonstrated through scenario earthquake simulations that fine structures play a significant role in the assessment of earthquake hazards along the Anninghe fault. As such, this study provides a typical window into seismotectonics and large earthquake hazards in the active southeastern Tibetan Plateau. Plain Language Summary: The Anninghe fault is located in Southwest China, and it has experienced a series of large earthquakes (M ≥ 7) during its history. However, the Anninghe fault has been silent for nearly 30 years; it has been suggested that there is a high risk of large earthquakes occurring there. To investigate the deep structural background and potential earthquake hazards associated with the Anninghe fault zone, we deployed a dense seismic array along this fault zone. During data processing, we proposed a method to eliminate coherent noise and enhance the signals considerably, which is essential for the subsequent tomography of the structures underneath. The final tomographic model shows that the Anninghe fault zone has a distinctively low seismic wave speed at shallow depths and dips to the east at deeper depths. As this observation agrees with the distribution of local earthquakes and previous findings, it may indicate the existence of a seismogenic zone capable of generating earthquakes. Additionally, we further demonstrated through simulations of large earthquakes that the high‐resolution model developed in this study is important for assessing earthquake hazards along the Anninghe fault. From the perspective of tourism space optimization, the application of computer technology in creating computational simulations of correlation effects in tourism space systems is a core issue in research related to ports and hinterlands. Using a computer simulation analysis of the gray correlation, taking Mohan port–Yunnan economic hinterland as an example, the relationship between Mohan port and the Yunnan economic hinterland was quantitatively measured based on the indicators of cross-border tourism from 2006 to 2020. The study aimed to identify the driving mechanisms behind the synchronized development of Mohan port–Yunnan economic hinterland. The results are as follows: (1) due to the influence of administrative interventions and the competition of the neighboring ports, the correlation between the Mohan port and the Yunnan hinterland from 2006 to 2020 showed a rising–falling trend; (2) the correlation between the Mohan port and Xishuangbanna prefecture showed an obvious fluctuating trend, and the original port–city development relationship evolved to a competitive status; (3) the degree of spatial correlation of the Mohan port–Yunnan hinterland system evolved in a north–south-central–south direction, with "border zone–central region–northern region" distribution characteristics; (4) the natural conditions of the location, national policies, competition of nearby ports, infrastructure and traffic conditions, and economic strength are the main driving factors affecting the correlation change between Mohan port and the Yunnan hinterland. These findings can help enrich the theoretical research system of buildings economics, and expand the application of computational decision-making support in tourism spatial optimization. Lake Xingyun is a hypertrophic shallow lake on the Yunnan Plateau of China. Its water quality (WQ) has degraded severely during the past three decades with catchment development. To better understand the external nutrient loading impacts on WQ, we measured nutrient concentrations in the main tributaries during January 2010–April 2018 and modelled the monthly volume of all the tributaries for the same period. The results show annual inputs of total nitrogen (TN) had higher variability than total phosphorus (TP). The multi-year average load was 183.8 t/year for TN and 23.3 t/year for TP during 2010–2017. The average TN and TP loads for 2010–2017 were 36.6% higher and 63.8% lower, respectively, compared with observations in 1999. The seasonal patterns of TN and TP external loading showed some similarity, with the highest loading during the wet season and the lowest during the dry season. Loads in spring, summer, autumn, winter, and the wet season (May–October) accounted for 14.2%, 48.8%, 30.3%, 6.7%, and 84.9% of the annual TN load and 14.1%, 49.8%, 28.1%, 8%, and 84.0% of the annual TP load during 2010–2017. In-lake TN and TP concentrations followed a pattern similar to the external loading. The poor correlation between in-lake nutrient concentrations and tributary nutrient inputs at monthly and annual time scales suggests both external loading and internal loading were contributing to the lake eutrophication. Although effective lake restoration will require reducing nutrient losses from catchment agriculture, there may be a need to address a reduction of internal loads through sediment dredging or capping, geochemical engineering, or other effective measures. To realize the autonomous operation of a terraced rice sowing robot, a set of sowing robot operation path planning algorithms with universal significance for small, irregular terraced plots is proposed. According to the characteristics of terraces and the agronomic requirements of sowing seeding, the operation path mainly includes parallel operation and boundaries surrounding the operation path. The boundary pre-collision detection method is expounded, and the cyclic detection method judges the U-turn area. The Bézier curve fitting algorithm was used to smooth the boundary wrapping path. To verify the feasibility of the algorithm, four typical irregular small fields located in 666.7-hectare terraces of Sama in Hong He Prefecture, Yunnan Province, were randomly selected, and a field map was obtained through Google Earth. An existing seeding robot was used as a model, and the simulation and comparison tests were carried out with the mainstream EHNS algorithm and boundary polyline algorithm under the ROS-kinetic platform in the Cen Village Scientific Research Base of South China Agricultural University. The actual boundaries of the four fields with the same simulation test were used as the map to verify the field experiment. The simulation test results show that the area coverage of the sowing operation is greater than 93.53% and the replay rate is less than 3.46%, and the field test results show that the area coverage of the sowing operation is greater than 94.33% and the replay rate is less than 3.03%. The simulation test is in good agreement with the field test results, indicating that the algorithm has good adaptability, which meets the requirements of a sowing robot for sowing operation path planning and can provide a certain reference for the path planning of irregular field operation robots in hilly and mountainous areas. China is implementing a pilot project to reform the property rights of farmland water facilities to solve the serious problems of chaotic end-of-pipe governance and inefficient irrigation from farmers. Based on microscopic research data of farm households in a typical pilot in Lu Liang County, Yunnan Province, in China, this study uses the Tobit model, and SEM was used to explore the impact of property rights reform on the irrigation efficiency of farmers and the potential mechanism paths. We further analyzed the differences in governance logic and irrigation efficiency between the two property rights models of "multiple cooperative governance" and "private contract governance" formed after the reform. The findings are as follows: (1) Compared with nonreformed areas, reformed areas have a higher promotion of adoption of water-saving technologies and a better quality of facility maintenance, which significantly contributes to irrigation efficiency, but farmers' perception of water scarcity negatively affects irrigation efficiency; (2) there are differences between the "multiple cooperative governance model" and "private contract governance model" in terms of the mechanism paths to improve irrigation efficiency, resulting in different focuses between the two models, in which the former one has better irrigation efficiency while cutting off some of the farmers' benefits and the latter benefits more farmers while losing some of the irrigation efficiency. Finally, this study recommends that China should continue to promote the reform of farmland water property rights while focusing on promoting water conservation technologies, improving the quality of facility maintenance and facility water supply capacity, enhancing farmers' awareness of water scarcity, and implementing a more water-efficient "multiple cooperative governance model". Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and light detection and ranging (LiDAR) can be used to analyze the geomorphic features in complex plateau mountains. Accordingly, a UAV–LiDAR system was adopted in this study to acquire images and lidar point-cloud dataset in the annular structure of Lufeng, Yunnan. A three-dimensional (3D) model was constructed based on structure from motion and multi-view stereo (SfM–MVS) in combination with a high-resolution digital elevation model (DEM). Geomorphic identification, measurement, and analysis were conducted using integrated visual interpretation, DEM visualization, and geographic information system (GIS) topographic feature extraction. The results indicated that the 3D geomorphological visualization and mapping were based on DEM, which was employed to identify the dividing lines and ridges that were delineated of the pit rim structure. The high-resolution DEM retained more geomorphic detail information, and the topography and the variation between ridges were analyzed in depth. The catchment and ponding areas were analyzed using accurate morphological parameters through a multi-angle 3D visualization. The slope, aspect, and topographic wetness index (TWI) parameters were analyzed through mathematical statistics to qualitatively and accurately analyze the differences between different ridges. This study highlighted the significance of the UAV–LiDAR high-resolution topographic measurements and the SfM–MVS 3D scene modelling in accurately identifying geomorphological features and conducting refined analysis. An effective framework was established to acquire high-precision topographic datasets and to analyze geomorphological features in complex mountain areas, which was beneficial in deepening the research on numerical simulation analysis of geomorphological features and reveal the process evolution mechanism. We detailed the valve morphology of five new species of diatom genus Nupela from wetwall communities in Yunnan Province, China, with light and scanning electron microscope. The five new species demonstrate great variability within the genus, as three of them are biraphid and two are monoraphid. In addition, variation was noted in the structure of internal proximal raphe ends, with some species having anchor-shaped ends and other species have hooked ends. The genus Nupela has grown considerably in 30 years since it was first proposed, going from a monotypic genus to over 85 taxa. Diagnosis of the genus is based on the presence of an external covering over the areolae. We discussed the systematic placement of Nupela within the naviculoid diatoms. Small mammals can transmit and serve as a reservoir for Orientia tsutsugamushi (Ot) in nature by carrying infected mites. In Yunnan, one of China's main foci of scrub typhus, etiological evidence and genetic diversity for Ot is limited. A total of 2538 small mammals were captured seasonally from 2015 to 2016 in the three counties of Yunnan, and the spleen or liver tissue was examined for Ot based on 56 kDa nPCR. The overall prevalence of Ot was 1.77%, ranging from 0.26 to 9.09% across different species. The Gilliam strain was found in 35.6% (16/45) of the wild small mammals, followed by the Karp 11.1% (5/45) and TA763 (1/45) strains, the last of which was discovered in western Yunnan for the first time. In Lianghe, Ot infection rates in wild small mammals were higher than in the other two counties. The infection rates of Eothenomys miletus with Ot were highest in the three dominant species. Ot infection rates in wild small mammals were higher in Lianghe (1200–1400 m) and Yulong (2800–3000 m). Plant debris are habitats favoring survival and multiplication of various microbial species. During continuing mycological surveys of saprobic microfungi from plant debris in Yunnan Province, China, several Corynespora-like and Dendryphiopsis-like isolates were collected from dead branches of unidentified perennial dicotyledonous plants. Four barcodes, i.e., ITS, LSU, SSU and tef1-α, were amplified and sequenced. Morphological studies and multigene phylogenetic analyses by maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference revealed three new Corynespora species (C. mengsongensis sp. nov., C. nabanheensis sp. nov. and C. yunnanensis sp. nov.) and a new Kirschsteiniothelia species (K. nabanheensis sp. nov.) within Dothideomycetes, Ascomycota. A list of identified and accepted species of Corynespora with major morphological features, host information and locality was compiled. The White-eared Night Heron (Gorsachius magnificus) is a poorly known species. Little ecological research has been conducted on this species, and its migration route in particular is poorly understood. Clarification of the migratory routes of this species can enhance our understanding of its distribution and aid its conservation. Here, we identified the wintering and summering sites and characterized the migration route of one White-eared Night Heron by GPS/GSM tracking. Our results indicated that the Nanting River on the China–Myanmar border is the wintering site for this individual, and the Shizhuang River in Nanzhang, Hubei Province, China is the summering site. The heron migrated along the mountains and rested near rivers and reservoirs. This study is the first to reveal the migration route of the White-eared Night Heron. Our findings suggest that this species in Yunnan, Hubei, and Guizhou Provinces is not a resident bird. Generally, these data will aid the conservation of this species, including the development of action plans and the establishment of local nature reserves along its migration route and at wintering, summering, and stopover sites. The diversity of lignicolous freshwater fungi in northwestern Yunnan, China, has been studied for several years in the College of Agriculture and Biological Science, at Dali University. Over the last 5 years, we published two new genera and nine new species of Tubeufiaceae from northwestern Yunnan. This study focused on introducing tubeufia-like hyphomycetous fungi found in freshwater lakes in the northwestern Yunnan plateau. Eleven fresh collections of tubeufiaceous taxa were gathered and identified. Among them, a new genus, Neomanoharachariella, is introduced to accommodate Neomanoharachariella aquatica, which is characterized by a light brown to dark brown color, dictyoseptate, and broadly oval to ellipsoid and well-developed conidiophores. Two new species, viz., Neohelicosporium suae and Parahelicomyces suae, one new record, Helicoma rufum, and three new collections, namely, H. rugosum, P. hyalosporus, and Tubeufia cylindrothecia are introduced based on morphological evidence and molecular phylogenetic analysis of combined ITS, LSU, tef I-α, and RPB2 sequence data. Rhododendron is an essential ornamental plant that is abundant in Yunnan province. In Cangshan Mountain, Yunnan, China, 61 species of Rhododendron have been reported. Endophytic fungi are internal plant tissue inhabitants that do not harm the host. It has emerged as an exciting research topic as they have the potential to provide numerous secondary metabolites. This study is focused on taxonomic novelties and new host records of endophytic fungi associated with Rhododendron plants collected from Cangshan Mountain in Yunnan Province, China. Pestalotiopsis fungi are associated with a vast array of plant species worldwide. In this study, fresh leaves of Rhododendron cyanocarpum, Rhododendron decorum, and Rhododendron delavayi were collected from Cangshan Mountain, Yunnan Province, China. Endophytic Pestalotiopsis fungi associated with Rhododendron were characterized based on phylogenetic analyses of combined ITS, TEF1-a, and TUB genes along with morphological characteristics. Six new species (Pestalotiopsis appendiculata, Pestalotiopsis cangshanensis, Pestalotiopsis daliensis, Pestalotiopsis fusoidea, Pestalotiopsis rosarioides, and Pestalotiopsis suae) and a new host record (Pestalotiopsis trachicarpicola) are described. Detailed descriptions and color photo plates of these species are provided. It is the first time that the endophytic fungi of Rhododendron plants in Cangshan Mountain have been studied. Trechispora are an important genus of wood-inhabiting fungi that have the ability to decompose rotten wood in the forest ecosystem. In this study, we reported three new species of Trechispora: T. murina, T. odontioidea, T. olivacea from a subtropical region of Yunnan Province, China. Species descriptions were based on a combination of morphological features and phylogenetic analyses of the ITS and LSU region of nuclear ribosomal DNA. Trechispora murina is characterized by the resupinate basidiomata, grandinioid hymenial surface with a greyish tint, monomitic hyphal system and ellipsoid, thick-walled, ornamented basidiospores; T. odontioidea has an odontioid hymenial surface with cylindrical to conical, blunt aculei and subglobose to globose, colorless, slightly thick-walled, ornamented basidiospores; T. olivacea has a farinaceous hymenial surface with olivaceous tint, basidia clavate and thick-walled, ornamented, broadly ellipsoid to globose basidiospores. Sequences of the ITS and nLSU rDNA markers of the studied samples were generated, and phylogenetic analyses were performed with maximum likelihood, maximum parsimony, and Bayesian inference methods. After a series of phylogenetic analyses, the 5.8S+nLSU dataset was constructed to test the phylogenetic relationship of Trechispora with other genera of Hydnodontaceae. The ITS dataset was used to evaluate the phylogenetic relationship of the three new species with other species of Trechispora. Using ITS phylogeny, the new species T. murina was retrieved as a sister to T. bambusicola with moderate supports; T. odontioidea formed a single lineage and then grouped with T. fimbriata and T. nivea; while T. olivacea formed a monophyletic lineage with T. farinacea, T. hondurensis, and T. mollis. A new genus and species of Schizopteridae, Cornonannus bui gen. et sp. nov. is described from Yunnan Province, China. The new genus is closest to Pachyplagia Gross, 1951, Ogeria, Distant 1913, and Kaimon Hill, 2004 in morphology, but it can be distinguished from these genera by the male having a frontal process, the absence of pronotal collar, the distinct venation of forewing, a tarsi formula of 3-3-3, and the middle area of abdominal tergites I to VII with small, round tubercles. Photographs of the male habitus, head, thorax, abdomen, appendages, and genitalic structures, as well as scanning electron micrographs of the male head, thorax, abdomen, and genitalic structures and drawings of male genitalia, are provided. Simple Summary: We provide a comprehensive overview of sequence variations in Dehong humped cattle genomes with important implications for the future; moreover, we unravel the characteristics of other native cattle in China. In the current study, we investigated a high level of genomic diversities using whole-genome resequencing data in 18 Dehong humped cattle. It is speculated that Dehong humped cattle were influenced by two ancestral segments (Chinese indicine and Indian indicine cattle). Additionally, the selection signatures were detected in genomic regions that are possibly related to economically important traits in Dehong humped cattle. These results will establish a foundation for conservation and breeding programs in the future. Dehong humped cattle are precious livestock resources of Yunnan Province, China; they have typical zebu traits. Here, we investigated their genetic characteristics using whole-genome resequencing data of Dehong humped animals (n = 18). When comparing our data with the publicly-available data, we found that Dehong humped cattle have high nucleotide diversity. Based on clustering models in a population structure analysis, Dehong humped cattle had a mutual genome ancestor with Chinese and Indian indicine cattle. While using the RFMix method, it is speculated that the body sizes of Dehong humped cattle were influenced by the Chinese indicine segments and that the immune systems of Dehong humped cattle were affected by additional ancestral segments (Indian indicine). Furthermore, we explored the position selection regions harboring genes in the Dehong humped cattle, which were related to heat tolerance (FILIP1L, ABHD6) and immune responses (GZMM, PRKCZ, STOML2, LRBA, PIK3CD). Notably, missense mutations were detected in the candidate gene ABHD6 (c.870C>A p.Asp290Glu; c.987C>A p.Ser329Arg). The missense mutations may have implications for Dehong humped cattle adaptation to hot environments. The railway embankment slope is a complex open system including uncertainty of soil parameters. Considering the influencing factors with randomness, ambiguity and uncertainty, the reliability analysis of slope stability is often accompanied by an implicit state equation, subtle changes of the input variables may result in drastic changes to the slope stability. In this work, a coupled Markov chain model is used to describe the staggering occurrence of different geotechnical types. To further describe the inherent variability of soil parameters, a response surface method (RMS) based Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) is conducted to perform the reliability analysis. One case study is carried out using borehole data collected from Masao District in Yunnan, China. The results indicate the proposed RMS-based MCS approach could be utilized as a practical and efficient tool for the slope reliability analysis to address the system reliability analysis for complex slopes. We investigate apparent-time variation of the low falling (T21) and low level (T11) tones of the Black Lahu language of Yunnan, China. Linear mixed-effects modeling of spontaneous speech shows that both tones have a higher F0 trajectory among younger speakers and in certain phonetic environments. Since F0 is known to lower with increasing age, for comparison we also analyze variation in the high rising tone (T45) and find no evidence of generational difference. This suggests that the effect of age on low tones is not due to physiological change across the life span. We leave open the question of whether this result reflects a change in progress or a stable sociotonetic difference between older and younger speakers. This study contributes towards two underrepresented areas of sound change research: (1) sociotonetic approaches to tone variation in naturalistic speech styles, and (2) engagement with Indigenous scholars who are cultural insiders in small rural minority language communities. Dengue virus (DV) has occasionally emerged at epidemic levels in Yunnan, China. Vaccine development is limited by antibody‐dependent enhancement and a lack of good animal models. Thus, the study investigated cross infection based on maternal immunity in BALB/c mice and assessed the risk of cross infection by DV2‐D13113 and DV3‐YNWS2 epidemic virus strains. DV replicated within the organs of the BALB/c infant mice, even causing death. Particularly, DV3‐infected infant mice were at higher risk of severe disease if their mothers were infected with DV2. Although BALB/c adults and pups survived DV2/DV3 infection and produced anti‐DV antibodies after 5–8 days, extensive subcutaneous vascular leakage was observed after secondary DV infection. Furthermore, vascular permeability in the lung and kidney significantly increased in offspring born to heterotypic virus‐infected mothers. Thus, vascular leakage indicates severe DV infection. The results indicate that maternal immunity increases the severity of subsequent heterotypic infection. Additionally, secondary cross infection by D13113 and YNWS2 represents a risk of serious disease. This study has implications for studies of DV cross infection and vaccine development. The coupling relationship between regional seismic activity and the hydrogeochemical field provides an important theoretical basis for regional earthquake precursor exploration. The intersection area of the Red River fault zone (RRF) and the Xiaojiang fault zone (XJF) in southeast Yunnan province has become the focus area of earthquake monitoring and prediction because of its special tectonic position in China. There were 20 hot springs that were sampled and analyzed in the laboratory for major elements, including trace elements, silica, stable isotopes (δ18O and δD), and strontium isotopes, from the years 2015 to 2019. (1) The meteoric water is the main source of recharge for thermal springs in the study area, and recharged elevations ranged from 1.1 to 2 km; (2) the geothermometer method was used to estimate the region of thermal storage temperature, and its temperature ranged between 64.3 to 162.7 °C, whereas the circulation depth ranged from 1.1 to 7.2 km. Hydrochemical types were mainly controlled by aquifer lithology, in which sodium bicarbonate and sulphuric acid water gathered mainly in the RRF, while calcium bicarbonate water gathered mainly in the XJF. According to the silicon–enthalpy equation method, the temperature range and cold water mixing ratio were 97–268 °C and 61–97%, respectively; (3) the circulation depth of the RRF was deeper than that of the XJF, and it was mainly concentrated in the second segment and the fourth segment on the RRF. Most of the hot spring water was immature with a weak water–rock reaction; (4) the hot water intersections of RRF and XJF were obviously controlled by the fault and the cutting depth of granite; (5) the relationship discussed between geothermal anomaly and earthquake activity had a good correspondence with regional seismicity. The intensity of the reaction between underground hot water and the surrounding rock may lead to the change of pore pressure, and the weakening effect of groundwater on fracture may change accordingly, followed by the change in the adjustment of tectonic stress. Background: As one of the most serious types of coronary heart disease, ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) faces huge challenges in the equal management and care of patients due to its life-threatening and time-critical condition. Health inequalities such as sex and age differences in STEMI care have been reported from developed countries. However, limited outcomes have been investigated and the major drivers of inequality are still unclear, especially in under-developed areas. This study aimed to explore the major drivers of health inequalities in STEMI care before implementation of a new regional network in the south-west of China. Methods: Prefecture-level data of STEMI patients before the implementation of a regional network were analysed retrospectively. Drivers of inequality were identified from six social determinants of health, namely area of residence, ethnicity, sex, age, education and occupation. Outcomes of STEMI care included timely presentation, reperfusion therapy, timely reperfusion therapy, heart failure, inpatient mortality, length of hospital stay, hospital costs, and various intervals of ischaemic time. Results: A total of 376 STEMI patients in the research area before implementation of the STEMI network were included. Compared with urban residents, rural patients were significantly less likely to have timely presentation (odds ratio [OR]=0.47, 95% CI: 0.28-0.80, P=.004) and timely reperfusion therapy (OR=0.32, 95% CI: 0.14-0.70, P=.005). Rural residents were less likely to present to hospital promptly than urban residents (HR=0.65, 95% CI=0.52-0.82, P<.001). In the first 3 hours of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) reperfusion delay and first 6 hours of total ischaemic time, rural patients had a significantly lower probability to receive prompt PCI (hazard ratio [HR]=0.40, 95% CI: 0.29-0.54, P<.001) and reperfusion therapy (HR=0.37, 95% CI: 0.25-0.56, P<.001) compared to urban patients. Conclusion: Rural residents were a major vulnerable group before implementation of the regional STEMI network. We have discovered a young, rapidly rotating active star USNO-B1.0 1388−0463685 with a rotational period of 0.508750 ± 0.000153 d in the Yunnan–Hong Kong wide-field photometric survey. Based on the chromospheric activity identified in the dedicated spectroscopic observations, the brightness variation of this star is attributed to cool spots on its photosphere. We derived the spot maps from 14 light curves, which demonstrate that the strong spot tends to appear in the same hemisphere, and the light curve amplitude varies with a period of about 2.4 yr. Low-resolution spectroscopic observations revealed the chromospheric activity of the star through the indicators Hα, Na  i D1 and D2, He  i D3, and Ca  ii H & K lines. Moreover, there was a clear anticorrelation between the equivalent width variation of the Hα, Na  i D1 and D2 lines and the simultaneous light curve, implying the photosphere and chromosphere connection. Using the spectral subtraction technique, the spectral type of the star was determined as K0–2V and its projected rotational velocity v  sin  i is 107.492 ± 7.388 km s−1. Both the lithium equivalent width of 254.0 ± 43.3 mÅ and its location on the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram indicate that this star should be in the stage from late pre-main sequence to zero-age main sequence. Bats are reservoirs of various viruses. The widely distributed cave nectar bat (Eonycteris spelaea) is known to carry both filoviruses and coronaviruses. However, the potential transmission of theses bat viruses to humans is not fully understood. In this study, we tracked 16 E. spelaea bats in Mengla County, Yunnan Province, China, using miniaturized GPS devices to investigate their movements and potential contact with humans. Furthermore, to determine the prevalence of coronavirus and filovirus infections, we screened for the nucleic acids of the Měnglà virus (MLAV) and two coronaviruses (GCCDC1-CoV and HKU9-CoV) in anal swab samples taken from bats and for antibodies against these viruses in human serum samples. None of the serum samples were found to contain antibodies against the bat viruses. The GPS tracking results showed that the bats did not fly during the daytime and rarely flew to residential areas. The foraging range of individual bats also varied, with a mean cumulative nightly flight distance of 25.50 km and flight speed of up to 57.4 km/h. Taken together, these results suggest that the risk of direct transmission of GCCDC1-CoV, HKU9-CoV, and MLAV from E. spelaea bats to humans is very low under natural conditions. Begonia longlingensis Y.H.Tan & H.B.Ding, a new species of Begoniaceae from Southwest Yunnan, China, is described and illustrated. The Indo‐Pacific warm pool affects the regional climatic conditions in Southeast Asia mediated by the Western Pacific (WP) and Indian Ocean (IO) monsoons, which are recognized as critical regulators of wildfires in this region. Our study explored the spatiotemporal effects of the warm pools on wildfire records in Yunnan, Southwest China. We showed the interannual records had a negative relationship with the simultaneous WP warm pool area index. The Ailao Mountains in the central Yunnan could be a geographical barrier that blocked the influences of the WP warm pool from the east side. For the intraannual changes, the wildfire number variations had a stronger connection to the IO warm pool dynamics than the WP. Our study provided the novel evidence on the teleconnection between the Indo‐Pacific warm pool dynamics and regional environmental processes in Yunnan, also indicating this area as a part of the transitional zone between the two warm pools. Our results showed the interannual dynamics of the wildfire number had a negative relationship with the simultaneous WP warm pool changes. The Ailao Mountains in central Yunnan could be a geographical barrier that blocked the influences of the WP warm pool from the east side. For the intraannual dynamics, the wildfire record variations had a stronger connection to the IO warm pool dynamics than the WP. Outbreaks of pine shoot beetles (Tomicus spp.) have caused widespread tree mortality in Southwest China. However, the understanding of the role of climatic drivers in pine shoot beetle outbreaks is limited. This study aimed to characterize the relationships between climate variables and pine shoot beetle outbreaks in the forests of Yunnan pine (Pinus yunnanensis Franch) in Southwest China. The pine shoot beetle-infested total area from 2000 to 2017 was extracted from multi-data Landsat images and obtained from field survey plots. A temporal prediction model was developed by partial least squares regression. The results indicated that multi consecutive year droughts was the strongest predictor, as such a condition greatly reduced the tree resistance to the beetles. The beetle-infested total area increased with spring temperature, associated with a higher success rate of trunk colonization and accelerated larval development. Warmer temperatures and longer solar radiation duration promoted flight activity during the trunk transfer to the shoot period and allowed the completion of sister broods. Multi consecutive year droughts combined with the warmer temperatures and higher solar radiation duration could provide favorable conditions for shoot beetle outbreaks. The odd-pinnately compound leaves of short pod-branch surrounding the fruit growth of Roxburgh rose (Rosa roxburghii Tratt.) are the source organ of photosynthesis, and the photosynthetic capacity of leaves is an important factor determining the yield. To analyze the relationship between the distribution of palisade cells in different leaf positions and photosynthesis in the flowering and fruiting stage, the microstructure, photosynthetic physiology, and gas exchange parameters of each leaf position were measured. The leaves located in the middle of short pod-branches were rich in columnar cells and showed higher chlorophyll content and, thus, higher light absorption by the leaves than other leaf positions, which conducted to enhanced photosynthesis and outstanding photosynthetic capacity under sufficient light environment. Yet, the first leaf was immature, and the differentiation of mesophyll cells was not completed, which resulted in a weakening of photosynthesis per unit leaf area under adiquate light environment. The lower leaves of short pod-branches showed smaller leaf area and looser spongy mesophyll in an environment with light blocking, which resulted in insufficient photosynthetic capacity. Our findings indicate that the photosynthetic conversion ability of the middle leaf of short pod branch is the most prominent. Therefore, regulating leaf mesophyll cells distribution according to leaf position is essential for effective leaf photosynthesis at the flowering and fruit stage in Roxburgh rose. In order to realize the refined line inspection management of transmission lines' improve its operatior and maintenance efficiency, realize satellite intelligent inspection, and accurately find the defects and hidden dangers of towers and transmission lines, the paper took the coordinates of transmission line towers in Kunming City, Yunnan Province as an example and proposed a method to calibrate the coordinates of transmission towers using satellite images. The method first uses the reference base - map data as the basis to match the control points and uses the digital elevation model % DEM) to perform geometric correction on the original remote sensing image. Then combined with such technologies as shadow detection and edge detection and visual interpretation, the calibrated tower coordinates are obtained. The experiment verified the geometric con'ection accuracy of the SuperView - 1 % SV1) and Gaofen -- 2 % GF2 ) satellite images in the Kunming area, and the eerors in the plane after connection were 0.931 and 1.387 m, respectively. In addition, the experiment verified the calibration accuracy of the old tower coordinates on the two lines. The results show that the plane accuracy of the tower has increased from 13. 811 m and 8. 256 m to 5. 970 m and 5. 104 m, respectively, which meets the basic power grid requirements. This method can realize the calibration of the tower coordinates, reduce the workload of manual inspection, and improve the efficiency of line inspection. With the explosive growth of remote sensing image data, multi -- source images from the space and ground will continue to be combined, and the technology for the positioning of transmission towers based on satellite remote sensing images will have a broader development prospect. Yunnan Province is one of the rich biodiversity hotspots with abundant resources of lignicolous freshwater fungi. A total of 281 species of lignicolous freshwater fungi from 1986 to the present in Yunnan Province. They are mostly distributed in the classes Dothideomycetes and Sordariomycetes, a few species in the Eurotiomycetes and Leotiomycetes, and rarely reported in Orbiliomycetes and Pezizomycetes. Lignicolous freshwater fungi can decompose lignocellulose substrates and release energy and nutrients, and thus playing an important role in freshwater environment. This study briefly reviewed the biodiversity and taxonomic status of lignicolous freshwater fungi in Yunnan, the ecological functions of lignicolous freshwater fungi, factors affecting community distribution, application status, and research difficulties. Anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum spp. was widespread in recent years and resulted in great damage to strawberry production. Soil microbial communities were key contributors to host nutrition, development, and immunity; however, the difference between the microbial communities of healthy and anthracnose-infected strawberry rhizosphere soils remains unclear. In this study, the Illumina sequencing technique was used to comparatively study the prokaryotic and fungal community compositions and structures between healthy and anthracnose-infected strawberry rhizosphere soils in Yuxi, Yunnan Province. Both microbial community diversities and richness of anthracnose-infected strawberry rhizosphere soils were higher than those of healthy strawberry rhizosphere soils. A total of 2,518 prokaryotic and 556 fungal operational taxonomic units (OTUs) were obtained at the 97% similarity threshold. Proteobacteria, Thaumarchaeota, and Acidobacteria were the dominant prokaryotic phyla; Ascomycota, unclassified_k__Fungi, and Mortierellomycota were the dominant fungal phyla. The relative abundances of beneficial bacterial phyla Actinobacteria and Firmicutes, genera Streptomyces, Azospirillum , and Bacillus were significantly reduced in anthracnose-infected strawberry rhizosphere soils; the relative abundance of beneficial fungal species Trichoderma asperellum shows a similar tendency with bacterial abundance. Besides Colletotrichum , 15 other potential fungal pathogen genera and seven fungal pathogen species were identified; among the potential pathogen genera and species, eight pathogen genera and Fusarium oxysporum showed significant differences between healthy and anthracnose-infected strawberry rhizosphere soils. The results suggested that strawberry planted in this area may be infected by other fungal pathogens except for Colletotrichum spp. Our present research will provide theoretical basis and data reference for the isolation and identification of strawberry pathogens and potential probiotics in future works. The molecular mechanism of durable and broad-spectrum resistance to rice blast disease in japonica rice remained unknown. The Oryza sativa subs. japonica cultivar, Ziyu44, a local japonica rice in Yunnan Province of China, has shown durable broad-spectrum blast resistance for more than 30 years, which provides an opportunity for us to explore the molecular basis of broad-spectrum resistance to rice blast in japonica rice. In this study, we conducted a comparative study of mycelium growth, appressorium formation, the accumulation of endogenous salicylic acid (SA), endogenous jasmonic acid (JA) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), the expression of SA- and JA-associated genes between resistant rice variety Ziyu44 and susceptible rice variety Jiangnanxiangnuo (JNXN) in response to Magnaporthe oryzae (M. oryzae) infection. We found that appressorium formation and invasive hyphae extention were greatly inhibited in Ziyu44 leaves compared with that in JNXN leaves. Both Ziyu44 and JNXN plants maintained high baseline levels of endogenous SA that showed a little change following infection by M. oryzae and low baseline levels of endogenous JA that showed a marked increase in Ziyu44 plants but not in JNXN upon M. oryzae infection. The expression levels of key genes involving JA- and SA-signaling pathway OsCOI1b, OsNPR1, OsMPK6 as well as pathogenesis-related (PR) genes OsPR1a, OsPR1b and OsPBZ1(also known as OsPR10a) were markedly up-regulated in resistant rice Ziyu44 compared to susceptible rice JNXN. Taken together, our results indicate that the sharply increased accumulation of endogenous JA in rice Ziyu44 plants in response to M. oryzae infection plays crucial roles in enhancing accumulation of H2O2, the expression of SA- and JA-associated defense genes, activating the SA-JA defense signaling, and mediating broad-spectrum rice blast resistance in rice Ziyu44. Human urbanization has a great impact on the surface ecological environment, and few existing studies have explored the impact of urbanization on regional comfort on a long time scale. This study took Chenggong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China, where urbanization was obvious, as the study area, and used the comfort evaluation model to evaluate the annual summer Discomfort Index (DI) in different periods of urbanization. Meanwhile, the impact strength of each factor characterizing human activities (Impervious surface, Gross National Product, and Total Population) on DI changes was analyzed, and the contribution rate of the main factors was quantified. The experimental results show that (1) over the past 20 years, under the background of the rapid economic development of Chenggong District, the annual average DI in summer showed an upward trend. The growth rate after the completion of University Town (2010–2020, Post-UT) was higher than that before the completion of University Town (2001–2005, Pre-UT). University Town was growing much faster than other regions. The monthly average DI changes were similar to the annual average changes. However, due to the movement of students in University Town during the summer vacation, the growth rate of DI in June was significantly higher than that in other months. (2) In terms of spatial changes, DI in the central and northwestern parts of Chenggong District increased significantly from 2001 to 2020. There were differences in the change rate before and after the completion of University Town. The area occupied by significant growth areas in June was much higher than in other months. It is proved that the economic and social development of Chenggong District would impact the regional human comfort, and the construction of University Town has aggravated the intensity of this impact. (3) In the during-UT, affected by the complex changes in land use types, the DI in Chenggong District showed fluctuations in time, but there was no obvious change in space. (4) The correlation and contribution analysis showed that the annual average DI in summer was closely related to human activities, especially the impervious surface had a strong contribution rate of 52.7%. The research shows that the development of new cities would have a strong impact on regional DI changes. And the obtained results will provide theoretical support for rational planning and management in the process of urban development in the future, thereby promoting the sustainable development of the region. The spatial patterns of the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) changes in the Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) and their potential causes during the last four decades remain unclear. To clarify this issue, this study firstly depicts the spatial patterns of the NDVI changes using global inventory modelling and mapping studies (GIMMS) NDVI data and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) NDVI data. Secondly, the Mann–Kendall test, regression residual analysis and cluster analysis are used to diagnose the potential causes of the NDVI changes. The results show that the regional mean NDVI exhibited an uptrend from 1982 to 2019, which consists of two prominent uptrend periods, i.e., 1982–2003 and 2003–2019. There has been a shift of greening hotspots. The first prominent greening trend from 1982 to 2003 mainly occurred in the eastern agricultural area, while the second prominent greening uptrend from 2003 to 2019 mainly occurred at the junction of Chongqing, Guizhou and Yunnan. The greening trend and shift of greening hotspots were slightly caused by climate change, but mainly caused by human activities. The first greening trend was closely related to the agricultural progress, and the second greening trend was associated with the rapid economic development and implementation of ecology restoration policies. Understanding the spatial and temporal distribution patterns of fire is of ecological, social and economic importance. The purpose of this study is to examine the spatial distribution of high fire risk using machine learning algorithms and early warning weather in high-risk areas. Take the satellite monitored fire point data in Yunnan Province during 2015–2019 as an example. The spatial distribution law of high-density parts is found using hierarchical density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (HDBSCAN) algorithm, and the correlation degree analysis of high-density fire areas based on clustering and annual mean meteorological factors is carried out using grey correlation analysis (GCA) method. Results illustrates that within five years, fires frequently occurred in the seven regions of Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Lijiang City, Pu'er City, and Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture. Among them, the fire in Lijiang had the greatest relationship with precipitation, Pu'er and Xishuangbanna had the greatest correlation with temperature, and Honghe Hani and Wenshan Zhuang were most affected by wind speed. Tobacco bushy top disease (TBTD), caused by multiple pathogens including tobacco bushy top virus (TBTV), tobacco vein distorting virus (TVDV), TBTV satellite RNA (TBTVsatRNA), and TVDV-associated RNA (TVDVaRNA), is a destructive disease in tobacco fields. To date, how these causal agents are co-transmitted by aphid vectors in field and their roles in disease symptom induction remain largely unknown, due mainly to the lack of purified causal agents. In this study, we have constructed four full-length infectious clones, representing the Yunnan Kunming isolates of TVDV, TBTV, TBTVsatRNA, and TVDVaRNA (TVDV-YK, TBTV-YK, TBTVsatRNA-YK, and TVDVaRNA-YK), respectively. Co-inoculation of these four causal agents to tobacco K326 plants caused typical TBTD symptoms, including smaller leaves, necrosis, and plant stunting. In addition, inoculation of tobacco K326 plants with TBTV alone caused necrosis in systemic leaves by 7 dpi. Tobacco K326 and Nicotiana benthamiana plants infected by single virus or multiple viruses showed very different disease symptoms at various dpi. RT-PCR results indicated that co-infection of TVDVaRNA-YK could increase TVDV-YK or TBTV-YK accumulation in N. benthamiana plants, suggesting that TVDVaRNA-YK can facilitate TVDV-YK and TBTV-YK replication and/or movement in the infected plants. Aphid transmission assays showed that the successful transmission of TBTV-YK, TBTVsatRNA-YK, and TVDVaRNA-YK by Myzus persicae depended on the presence of TVDV-YK, while the presence of TBTVsatRNA-YK increased the aphid transmission efficiency of TBTV and TVDV. A moment magnitude (M w) 5.0 earthquake hit Qiaojia, Yunnan, China on 18 May 2020. Its hypocentre is only approximately 20 km away from the Baihetan reservoir, the second largest hydropower station in China. The Baihetan Reservoir is located at the junction of multiple fault zones on the eastern boundary of the Sichuan-Yunnan rhombic block, an area with high background seismic activity. The Baihetan Reservoir was planned to be impounded in April 2021 and the M w 5.0 earthquake occurred during its water-retaining. Thus, it is critical to investigate the seismogenesis of the Qiaojia M w 5.0 main shock and evaluate the risk of inducing earthquakes near the Baihetan Reservoir after impoundment. In this study, we built a complete and accurate earthquake catalogue to analyse seismicity in the reservoir area before and after the M w 5.0 Qiaojia earthquake. We adopted a machine learning-based seismic phase picker, PhaseNet, to automatically detect seismic picks from continuous raw seismic data. Seismic phase picks were associated and located using sequential earthquake association and location methods, including REAL, VELEST and hypoDD. We eventually obtained high-precision locations of 1640 earthquakes by the hypoDD. The distribution of earthquake locations indicates that a concealed fault nearly vertical to the surface accommodated the M w 5.0 Qiaojia main shock. The majority of its aftershocks is located within a narrow depth range of 8–13 km, indicating that the stresses in the hypocentral area were concentrated near the hypocentre of the M w 5.0 earthquake. Along with focal mechanism solutions, we suggested that the M w 5.0 Qiaojia earthquake is more likely a tectonic earthquake. However, we cannot exclude the possibility that earthquakes could be induced after the impoundment of Baihetan Reservoir, because the identified concealed fault is located in the middle of many large fault zones and only 20 km away from the Baihetan Reservoir. Background: Use of an interferon-γ (IFN-γ) release assay or tuberculin skin test for detection and management of latent tuberculosis infection is controversial. For both types of test, we assessed their predictive value for the progression of latent infection to active tuberculosis disease, the targeting value of preventive treatment, and the necessity of dual testing.Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library, with no start date or language restrictions, on Oct 18, 2019, using the keywords ("latent tuberculosis" OR "latent tuberculosis infection" OR "LTBI") AND ("interferon gamma release assays" OR "Interferon-gamma Release Test" OR "IGRA" OR "QuantiFERON®-TB in tube" OR "QFT" OR "T-SPOT.TB") AND ("tuberculin skin test" OR "tuberculin test" OR "Mantoux test" OR "TST"). We included articles that used a cohort study design; included information that individuals with latent tuberculosis infection detected by IFN-γ release assay, tuberculin skin test, or both, progressed to active tuberculosis; reported information about treatment; and were limited to high-risk populations. We excluded studies that included patients with active or suspected tuberculosis at baseline, evaluated a non-commercial IFN-γ release assay, and had follow-up of less than 1 year. We extracted study details (study design, population investigated, tests used, follow-up period) and the number of individuals observed at baseline, who progressed to active tuberculosis, and who were treated. We then calculated the pooled risk ratio (RR) for disease progression, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) of IFN-γ release assay versus tuberculin skin test.Findings: We identified 1823 potentially eligible studies after exclusion of duplicates, of which 256 were eligible for full-text screening. From this screening, 40 studies (50 592 individuals in 41 cohorts) were identified as eligible and included in our meta-analysis. Pooled RR for the rate of disease progression in untreated individuals who were positive by IFN-γ release assay versus those were negative was 9·35 (95% CI 6·48-13·49) compared with 4·24 (3·30-5·46) for tuberculin skin test. Pooled PPV for IFN-γ release assay was 4·5% (95% CI 3·3-5·8) compared with 2·3% (1·5-3·1) for tuberculin skin test. Pooled NPV for IFN-γ release assay was 99·7% (99·5-99·8) compared with 99·3% (99·0-99·5) for tuberculin skin test. Pooled RR for rates of disease progression in individuals positive by IFN-γ release assay who were untreated versus those who were treated was 3·09 (95% CI 2·08-4·60) compared with 1·11 (0·69-1·79) for the same populations who were positive by tuberculin skin test. Pooled proportion of disease progression for individuals who were positive by IFN-γ release assay and tuberculin skin test was 6·1 (95% CI 2·3-11·5). Pooled RR for rates of disease progression in individuals who were positive by IFN-γ release assay and tuberculin skin test who were untreated versus those who were treated was 7·84 (95% CI 4·44-13·83).Interpretation: IFN-γ release assays have a better predictive ability than tuberculin skin tests. Individuals who are positive by IFN-γ release assay might benefit from preventive treatment, but those who are positive by tuberculin skin test probably will not. • The first in-situ LA–ICP–MS dating of titanite in the A vein of porphyry deposits has been analyzed in polished thin section. • The titanite dating data (44.4 ± 1.5 Ma) in the A1 vein of the Lancang Laochang polymetallic deposit further delineates the evolutionary timeline from magma to ore-forming fluid in 45–43 Ma. • From magma to the initial ore-forming fluid in the Laochang deposit, a slightly pressure increase (from 93 MPa to 98 MPa) and a minor decrease of temperature (from 697 °C to 680 °C) and log f O 2 (from −16.78 to −17.29) have been revealed. The Laochang polymetallic deposit is the only large deposit in the Changning–Menglian Junction Zone. The deposit features by deep porphyry-skarn Mo–(Cu) and shallow vein Pb–Zn–(Ag) mineralization. Researches on the deposit have yielded extensive data, however, details about the initial evolution from magma to ore-forming fluid remain unclear. This study centers on the in-situ analysis of biotite from the porphyry, as well as phlogopite and titanite from the A vein, leading to the following insights: (1) The biotite geothermobarometer suggests the porphyry intruded in a moderate depth (2.57–4.27 km), with average parameters as P = 93 MPa, T = 697 °C, and log f O 2 = -16.78. (2) The A vein in the deposit can be further subdivided into A1 K-feldspar vein and A2 quartz vein. The phlogopite in the A1 vein formed at P = 98 MPa, T = 681 °C, and log f O 2 = -17.29. The pressure of the A1 vein is slightly higher than the static pressure of wall rock, attributed to pressure increment from the initial exsolved fluid. Conversely, the temperature and oxygen fugacity experience a slight decrease, due to buffering of the adjacent tuff. (3) The in-situ LA–ICP–MS U–Pb dating of the titanite in the A1 vein yields 44.4 ± 1.5 Ma (MSWD = 1.8, n = 48), comparable to the emplacement age of the porphyry (44.6–44.4 Ma). It is slightly older than the main mineralization age (43.78 Ma), further delineated the initial evolution sequence from magma to ore-forming fluid. Our research suggests that the in-situ analysis of titanite is crucial for preciously tracking the magma–fluid system, as titanite records both time and temperature information. Given the limited research and its potential hazards, the study aimed to determine the prevalence of Mediterranean spotted fever (MSF) caused by Rickettsia conorii (R. conorii), a tick-borne disease, in Yunnan Province, China. Through stratified sampling across five distinct regions in Yunnan, 5358 blood samples were obtained from the general healthy population. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA), and Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) were employed for analysis. IFA identified 27 (0.50%) subjects with immunoglobulin G (IgG) positivity; none were positive for immunoglobulin M (IgM) via ELISA. PCR detected one individual with R. conorii outer membrane protein A (ompA). Significant seroprevalence variation was observed, particularly in Southern Yunnan (P = 0.032), with R. conorii subsp. conorii confirmed in the PCR-positive sample. This research reveals a correlation between MSF prevalence, geography, and climate in Yunnan. The paucity of prior studies underscores MSF's potential diagnostic challenges in the region. Comprehensive understanding of the pathogen's distribution is pivotal for intervention.
