Objective To examine the levels of systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) and serum lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) in patients with acute carbon monoxide poisoning (ACOP), and to explore the predictive value of SIRI, Lp - PLA2 and their combination for delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide poisoning (DEACMP). Methods Total 265 patients with ACOP diagnosed and treated in Harrison International Peace Hospital of Hebei Medical University, The Second People's Hospital of Hengshui and The No.4 People's Hospital of Hengshui from March 2020 to March 2023 were included. SIRI and serum Lp-PLA2 levels were measured. According to the occurrence of DEACMP, they were divided into DEACMP group (n = 32) and non -DEACMP group (n = 233), while according to the degree of poisoning, they were divided into mild poisoning group (n = 20), moderate poisoning group (n = 107) and severe poisoning group (n = 138). Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses were used to screen the risk factors of DEACMP in patients with ACOP, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn to evaluate the predictive efficacy of SIRI, Lp - PLA2 and their combination for DEACMP. Results The levels of SIRI (t = 13.068, P = 0.000) and serum Lp-PLA2 (t = 8.208, P = 0.000) in DEACMP group were higher than those in non-DEACMP group, and their levels gradually increased with the severity of poisoning, the levels of SIRI (t = 8.764, P = 0.000; t = 4.586, P = 0.000) and Lp-PLA2 (t = 3.726, P = 0.000; t = 2.038, P = 0.044) in the severe poisoning group and moderate poisoning group were higher than those in the mild poisoning group, and the levels of SIRI and serum Lp-PLA2 in the severe poisoning group were also higher than those in the moderate poisoning group (t = 10.294, P = 0.000; t = 2.700, P = 0.007). Logistic regression analysis showed the severe poisoning (OR = 11.695, 95%CI: 4.893-39.994; P = 0.000), SIRI increased (OR = 1.600, 95%CI: 1.033-2.476; P = 0.001) and Lp - PLA2 increased (OR = 11.302, 95%CI: 1.486-38.933; P = 0.000) were risk factors of DEACMP in patients with ACOP. ROC curve showed that area under the curve (AUC) predicted by Lp-PLA2, SIRI and their combination were 0.82 (95%CI: 0.754-0.894, P = 0.000), 0.82 (95%CI: 0.739-0.895, P = 0.000) and 0.87 (95%CI: 0.805-0.934, P = 0.000), sensitivity were 0.66, 0.72 and 0.84, specificity were 0.85, 0.88 and 0.90, respectively. The prediction efficiency of Lp-PLA2 combined with SIRI was better than that of Lp- PLA2 (t = 2.198, P = 0.027) or SIRI (t = 2.268, P = 0.023) alone. Conclusions DEACMP is easy to occur when SIRI and serum Lp-PLA2 were high in patients with ACOP. The combined detection of Lp-PLA2 and SIRI can be used for early screening of DEACMP.

Background Cardiac damage induced by ischemic stroke, such as arrhythmia, cardiac dysfunction, and even cardiac arrest, is referred to as cerebral‐cardiac syndrome (CCS). Cardiac macrophages are reported to be closely associated with stroke‐induced cardiac damage. However, the role of macrophage subsets in CCS is still unclear due to their heterogeneity. Sympathetic nerves play a significant role in regulating macrophages in cardiovascular disease. However, the role of macrophage subsets and sympathetic nerves in CCS is still unclear. Methods and Results In this study, a middle cerebral artery occlusion mouse model was used to simulate ischemic stroke. ECG and echocardiography were used to assess cardiac function. We used Cx3cr1GFPCcr2RFP mice and NLRP3‐deficient mice in combination with Smart‐seq2 RNA sequencing to confirm the role of macrophage subsets in CCS. We demonstrated that ischemic stroke‐induced cardiac damage is characterized by severe cardiac dysfunction and robust infiltration of monocyte‐derived macrophages into the heart. Subsequently, we identified that cardiac monocyte‐derived macrophages displayed a proinflammatory profile. We also observed that cardiac dysfunction was rescued in ischemic stroke mice by blocking macrophage infiltration using a CCR2 antagonist and NLRP3‐deficient mice. In addition, a cardiac sympathetic nerve retrograde tracer and a sympathectomy method were used to explore the relationship between sympathetic nerves and cardiac macrophages. We found that cardiac sympathetic nerves are significantly activated after ischemic stroke, which contributes to the infiltration of monocyte‐derived macrophages and subsequent cardiac dysfunction. Conclusions Our findings suggest a potential pathogenesis of CCS involving the cardiac sympathetic nerve–monocyte‐derived macrophage axis.

Stimbiotic supplementation may provide an innovative feed additive solution to accelerate the proliferation of beneficial fiber-degrading bacteria in the distal intestine and the utilization of dietary fiber. Optimal utilization of dietary fiber has multiple benefits for gut health and nutrient utilization. This study was conducted to evaluate the late gestation and lactation performance, the plasma, colostrum, and milk immunoglobulin (IgA, IgG, and IgM) concentrations, and the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant biomarkers in plasma of sows fed with or without a stimbiotic during the late gestation and lactation phase. A total of 40 sows were allocated to two treatment groups: control (CT) with no supplementation or 100 mg/kg stimbiotic (VP), with 20 sows per treatment. Sows were fed the treatment diets from d 85 of gestation to d 28 of lactation. In the results, the average daily weight gain of piglets during lactation was greater from sows fed in the VP group compared to that in the CT group (p < 0.05). The plasma concentrations of IgM at farrowing and IgG at weaning of the sows fed the diet with the stimbiotic supplementation were much higher than those in the CT sows (p < 0.05), respectively. In addition, the dietary stimbiotic increased the concentrations of IgM in the colostrum and of IgA and IgM in the milk at d 14 of lactation (p < 0.05). Plasma concentrations of malondialdehyde (MDA) on d 0 and d 28 of lactation tended to be lower in sows fed the VP diets compared with those of the sows fed the CT diets. Thus, our study indicated that stimbiotic supplementation could improve the daily weight gain of piglets and the immune function of sows in lactation.

The light-driven catalytic conversion of diluted CO2 resources into value-added CO can be perceived as an effective way to fulfill sustainable green energy development, yet it's still in its inception stage because triggering this reaction remains a challenge due to its inert CO2. Herein, two unprecedented polyoxometalate-based crystalline heterogeneous catalysts formulated as {[H4GeMo8VMo4VIO40Co4][DETA]4}·5H2O (Co-ε-Keggin) and {[H4GeMo8VMo4VIO40Ni4][DETA]4}·4H2O (Ni-ε-Keggin) (DETA = diethylenetriamine) were elaborately prepared. Remarkably, thanks to the Ni site's capacity to bind CO2 and effective charge separation capability of Ni-ε-Keggin, it exhibits an ultra-high rate of 24 657.2 μmol g−1 h−1 with a high CO selectivity of 98.3% in a pure CO2 atmosphere, and 16 199.3 μmol g−1 h−1 with 94.6% selectivity in 10% diluted CO2. These results are superior to the performance of most photocatalysts in diluted CO2 and also better than the behavior of many photocatalysts in pure CO2 photocatalysis. In this paper, the influence on performance of radial straight blade hydraulic turbine is studied with radial meridional flow channel and mixed-flow meridional flow channel. Firstly, the theoretical models are suggested for radial straight blade hydraulic turbine. Secondly, runners are designed based on two different types of meridional flow channels. Finally, the numerical simulation is carried out for different schemes, while the performance and flow field are analyzed and compared. Results show that the two different schemes adapt to ultra-small discharge and head with large fluctuation. Moreover, the best numerical predicted efficiency is 81.4% for radial straight blade hydraulic turbine with the mixed-flow meridional flow channel, which is 1.8% more than the radial meridional flow channel. Meanwhile, with a larger conveyance capacity, the optimal efficiency is verified for the hydraulic turbine with mixed-flow meridional channel, and it can meet the needs of hydraulic energy recovery with ultra-small discharge. High active Pd‐based catalyst with low loading capacity for CO oxidative coupling with methyl nitrite (MN) to dimethyl oxalate (DMO) has aroused great interest in the large‐scale production of DMO for the next hydrogenation to bring forth ethylene glycol (EG). Here, spinel composite oxide support, namely MgAl2O4, had been prepared through three different methods: solid combustion method (MAO‐SC), hydrothermal method (MAO‐HT) and co‐precipitation method (MAO‐CP), and further Pd nanoparticles were anchored to the surface of MgAl2O4 through a simple wetness impregnation method. In the CO direct esterification to DMO reaction, the Pd/MAO‐SC catalyst, which used MgAl2O4 support prepared by solid combustion method, exhibited the highest intrinsic activity with Turnover frequency (TOF) value of 2.39 s−1 and DMO weight space‐time yield (956.8 g⋅kgcat−1⋅h−1) with 44.1 % CO conversion and 97.8 % DMO selectivity, and showed negligible attenuation of activity during the process of continuous reaction for 100 h. The characterization results confirmed that abundant oxygen defect sites occurred in MAO‐SC synthesized by combustion method not only can help to anchor the Pd nanoparticles with appropriate size and dispersion, but also can promote the interfacial electron transfer from MgAl2O4 support to Pd nanoparticles, thus significantly enhancing the metal‐support interaction (MSI) and providing more CO bridge‐adsorption sites that is favorable for the CO oxidative coupling with MN to DMO reaction.
