Abstract

Readout noise is a critical parameter for characterizing the performance of charge-coupled devices (CCDs), which can be greatly reduced by the correlated double sampling (CDS) circuit. However, conventional CDS circuit inevitably introduces new noises since it consists of several active analog components such as operational amplifiers. This paper proposes a digital CDS circuit technique, which transforms the pre-amplified CCD signal into a train of digital presentations by a high-speed data acquisition card directly without the noisy CDS circuit first, then implement the digital CDS algorithm through numerical method. The readout noise of 3.3 e$^{-}$ and the energy resolution of 121 eV@5.9keV can be achieved via the digital CDS technique.

Abstract

The Low Energy X-ray Telescope is a main payload on the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope satellite. The swept charge device is selected for the Low Energy X-ray Telescope. As swept charge devices are sensitive to proton irradiation, irradiation test was carried out on the HI-13 accelerator at the China Institute of Atomic Energy. The beam energy was measured to be 10 MeV at the SCD. The proton fluence delivered to the SCD was $3\times10^{8}\mathrm{protons}/\mathrm{cm}^{2}$ over two hours. It is concluded that the proton irradiation affects both the dark current and the charge transfer inefficiency of the SCD through comparing the performance both before and after the irradiation. The energy resolution of the proton-irradiated SCD is 212 eV@5.9 keV at $-60\,^{\circ}\mathrm{C}$, while it before irradiated is 134 eV. Moreover, better performance can be reached by lowering the operating temperature of the SCD on orbit.

504. University Students' Attitudes toward Online Learning in a Blended Course

Abstract

In spite of the trend toward online learning in higher education in Australia, few research examined university students' online learning attitude changes and the factors which could predict their attitude changes. The paper aimed to investigate 120 Australian university students' attitudes toward online learning in a blended course. The factors, such as prior attitudes, prior experiences, and motivation, were examined with the participants' online learning attitudes by the end of the course. Two phases in the study included the pre- and post-test and course participation (developed from the data of the students' weekly reports and online forum transcripts) in Phase One and interviews in Phase Two. It was found that the students became more positive toward online learning by the end of the course. The predictors for their online learning attitudes by the end of the course were their prior online learning attitudes and motivation in learning.

Abstract

Objective To investigate the short-term effect of chemotherapy on thyroid function or structure in patients with breast cancer. Methods Forty female patients with primary breast cancer treated in the first affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from March 2017 to December 2018 were selected. The changes of thyroid function (including T3, T4, FT3, FT4 and TSH) and their structure were measured and compared between before and after chemotherapy for two and four cycles. Results The levels of T4 and FT4 were significantly lower in breast cancer patients receiving either two or four cycles of chemotherapy than those receiving no chemotherapy(P＜0.05); and the levels of thyroid TI-RADS grade and the incidence of abnormal thyroid structure were significantly higher in patients receiving four courses of chemotherapy than those receiving no chemotherapy (P＜0.05). Conclusions In the near future,the event of chemotherapy can cause or aggravate abnormal thyroid function or structure in patients with breast cancer. Regular physical examination and necessary intervention have important clinical significance to prevent the development of thyroid disease.

507. Diagnostic value of ROC curve evaluation of serum markers in acute cholecystitis with bacterial infection

Abstract

Objective: To explore correlation of serum markers human neutrophil lipocalin and C-reactive protein with acute cholecystitis associated with bacterial infection, and to evaluate the diagnostic value of the markers. Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted from January 2018 to April 2020 at the Beijing Luhe Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing, China, and comprised acute cholecystitis patients who were divided into bacterial infection group A and non-bacterial infection group B. Serum human neutrophil lipocalin and C-reactive protein were measured for both the groups. Receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of the two markers in acute cholecystitis associated with bacterial infection. Data was analysed using SPSS 25. Results: Of the 145 patients, 65(45%) were in group A; 36(55.38%) males and 29(44.62%) females with a mean age of 45.79±2.50 years. In group B there were 80(55%) subjects; 45(56.25%) males and 35(43.75%) females with a mean age of 46.16±2.52 years (p>0.05). In group A, there were 60(92.31%) cases of acute calculous cholecystitis, and 5(7.69%) had acute acalculous cholecystitis compared to 73(91.25%) and 7(8.75%), respectively, in group B (p>0.05). 518. Dynamic wetting mechanism of coal under different CO2pressure: A new analytical basis through T2cutoff

Abstract

The technology of injecting carbon dioxide into coal seams to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and has brought attraction on the wettability of coal. As a fast and non-destructive method, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is widely used in the evaluation of coal wettability, but the inconsistency of analytical basis makes the quantitative evaluation of coal wettability changes uncertain. In this study, based on NMR combined with centrifugal experiments, a novel analytical basis using irreducible water defined by T2cutoff value was proposed to quantitatively analyze the dynamic wetting mechanism under different CO2pressures. The results show that when T2< 72.32 ms, the water in coal is irreducible water; when T2> 72.32 ms, the water in coal is movable water. CO2pressure hindered free water conversion to adsorbed and capillary water, but impacted adsorbed water more. Increased CO2pressure caused the wetting porosity of coal to decrease from 1.62 % to 1.08 %, and coal gradually changed from water-wet to CO2-wet. The increase in CO2pressure enlarged the CO2aggregations in the seepage channel, thus weakening the wetting rate of water to coal. CO2preferentially occupied small pores, which will hinder the migration of water into small pore spaces. Molecular diffusion controls water to achieve wetting equilibrium more than gravity/pressure difference and capillary force. As CO2pressure increases, the wetting equilibrium time decreases.

548. Evaluation of Phenazine Derivatives from the Lichen-Associated Streptomyces flavidovirensas Potent Antineuroinflammatory Agents In Vitro and In Vivo

Abstract

Eighteen nitrogen-containing compounds (1–18) were isolated from cultures of the lichen-associated Streptomyces flavidovirenscollected from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, including seven phenazine derivatives with three new ones, named subphenazines A–C (2–4), two new furan pyrrolidones (8–9), and nine known alkaloids. The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic data analysis, and absolute configurations were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and ECD calculations. The phenazine-type derivatives, in particular compound 3, exhibited significantly better antineuroinflammatory activity than other isolated compounds (8–18). Compound 3inhibited the release of proinflammatory cytokines including IL-6, TNF-α, and PGE2, and the nuclear translocation of NF-κB; it also reduced the oxidative stress and activated the Nrf2 signaling pathway in LPS-induced BV2 microglia cells. In vivo anti-inflammatory activity in zebrafish indicated that 3inhibited LPS-stimulated ROS generation. These findings suggested that compound 3might be a potent antineuroinflammatory agent through the regulation of the NF-κB/Nrf2 signaling pathways.

550. Novel Sesquiterpenoids with Renoprotective Activities from the Fruits of Alpinae oxyphyllaas Potent TGF-β1/Smads Phosphorylation Inhibitors

Abstract

The fruit of Alpinia oxyphyllaMiq is an important food spice in southern China and has been used in the treatment of kidney disorders for centuries. In order to discover the natural products with potent renoprotective activities in A. oxyphyllaand provide some references for its usage, systematic phytochemical studies were carried out and 24 new diverse sesquiterpenoids, including seven guaiane sesquiterpenoids (1–7), 10 eudesmane sesquiterpenoids (9–13, 18, 19, and 21–23), six cadinane sesquiterpenoids (31–35and 38), and an eremophilane sesquiterpenoid (40), along with 24 known analogues were isolated and elucidated by analysis of spectroscopic data and quantum-chemical calculations. Biological evaluation showed that 6 sesquiterpenoids could significantly inhibit the expression of extracellular matrix components, α-SMA in TGF-β1 induced kidney proximal tubular cells (NRK-52e) at low concentrations, and 9 sesquiterpenoids could also downregulate fibronectin and collagen I in a concentration-dependent manner, showing their potential in renal fibrosis. Further action mechanism study displayed that TGF-β1/Smads pathway might be involved in the antifibrotic effects of active sesquiterpenoids 15and 43. These studies suggest that A. oxyphyllamay have a potential to serve as a functional food in preventing renal fibrosis-associated diseases.
