Data were collected by Persian version of the Nurses Professional Values Scale-Revised (NPVS-R) Weis and Schank. The most important values of nurses and students, included “maintain confidentiality of patient” (from caring dimension), “safeguard patient's right to privacy” (from caring dimension), and the least important values in both groups were related to activism and professionalism dimensions for example participating in nursing research and/or implement research findings appropriate to practice and participating in peer review. Recommended to educators to pay more attention to these values in theoretical and clinical training of nursing students in particular values associated with social and political issues that there are related to activism and professionalism dimensions until through the teaching these values helped to promotion the nursing profession and also emphasized to the role continuing education in learning and instill professional values to nurses, according to emerging ethical challenges.
