The synoptic precipitation variability over Central Africa (CA) in the March-to-May (MAM) and September-to-November (SON) seasons is investigated in this study. The composite analysis is used to highlight the evolution of synoptic precipitation, related convection, and dynamic fields. Composite analysis findings show that synoptic precipitation anomalies increase/fade with an increase/decrease in convection, with the largest amplitude over 5° S–10° N and 2.5–20° E in MAM and 5° N–7.5° N and 5–15° E in SON. Precipitation anomalies and convection associated with the synoptic variability progress eastward preceded (followed) by eastward (westward) low-level wind. This synoptic sequence is associated with a downward motion and an inflow, indicating the storm's presence, which contributes significantly to precipitation initiation over CA. The empirical orthogonal function for precipitation during the SON season is lower than that observed during the MAM season in the context of the size and spatial pattern. During these precipitation occurrences, the zonal moisture component contributes the most to the moisture initiation over the region. The findings of this study show that the observed convergence/divergence position remains unchanged in intensity irrespective of the positive/negative precipitation events. The fintech segment is currently one of the most rapidly growing industries, attracting numerous investors who anticipate substantial returns in the future. Notably, not only individual retail investors but also mutual fund agencies are actively engaged in predicting stock prices within this sector to maximize their trading gains. The purpose of the study is to formulate stock forecasting models for top three Fintech Companies of India i.e., Policy Bazar, One 97 Communications Paytm Ltd., and Niyogin Ltd. Using Random Forest model with high-frequency data in Python. The literature review section also proves that this study is a novel piece of work as none of the existing research study focused on predicting stock prices of Fintech Companies of India using Random Forest model. The data is extracted from www.moneycontrol.com and www.kotaksecurities.com, for the period from 1st October, 2022–30 th September, 2023. The study deals about 293,280 data points i.e., 3 companies @ 97,760 each. It has been found that the forecasting model of random forest provides very successful results for prediction as the co-efficient of determination of all the selected companies is more than 95%. Earth's orography profoundly influences its climate and is a major reason behind the zonally asymmetric features observed in the atmospheric circulation. The response of the atmosphere to orographic forcing, when idealized aqua mountains are placed individually and in pairs (180° apart) at different latitudes, is investigated in the present study using a simplified general circulation model. The investigation reveals that the atmospheric response to orography is dependent on its latitudinal position: orographically triggered stationary waves in the midlatitudes are most energetic compared to the waves generated due to anomalous divergence in the tropics. The impact on precipitation is confined to the latitude of the orography when it is placed near the tropics, but when it is situated at higher latitudes, it also has a significant remote impact on the tropics. In general, the tropical mountains block the easterly flow, resulting in a weakening of the Hadley cells and a local reduction in the total poleward flux transport by the stationary eddies. On the other hand, the midlatitudinal orography triggers planetary-scale Rossby waves and enhances the poleward flux transport by stationary eddies. The twin mountains experiments, which are performed by placing orography in pairs at different latitudes, show that the energy fluxes, stationary wave, and precipitation pattern are not merely the linear additive sum of individual orographic responses at these latitudes. The nonlinearity in a diagnostic sense is a product interaction of flow between the two mountains, which depends on the background flow, the separation distance between mountains, and wind shear worldwide. Low-cost sensors (LCS) for air-quality monitoring have shown huge potential in enhancing spatial and temporal resolutions at a lower cost, greater flexibility in use and with less maintenance than fixed-air quality monitoring stations (AQMS). There are numerous reports showing sensor-based systems perform well under laboratory conditions. However, the accuracy of LCS operated under field conditions has been reported to deviate from their use in these controlled environments. Previous studies have employed various mathematical techniques to improve system performance. These include classic multivariate regression model (MLR) to incorporate ambient factors (e.g. temperature & relative humidity) and machine learning (ML) models for integrating complex non-linear sensor responses for gaseous pollutant concentration predictions. However, routine field calibrations may cause data inconsistency during measurement periods. This study first illustrates the limitations of short-term routine calibration by comparing performances of existing MLR and ML models. Further, based on a long-term evaluation period, a newly principle-based method named Temperature Look-Up (TLU) model was built and compared with the existing MLR and ML models. Measurements were taken for 8 months (August 2017 to March 2018) in SanMenXia (SMX) city, China, using 8 sets of sensor systems (Mini Air Stations, MAS). One MAS was co-located with AQMS to provide data to assess the principle, whereas the other 7 MAS were used for verification. The TLU model showed the best performance for long term validation (4 months) and high model inner coherence (R 2 > 0.91). Meanwhile, the TLU model also shows the fast convergence (40 days) to reach stable prediction performance, and spatial representativeness in the sensor network. Recommendations on sensor network deployment and strategy for data maintenance based on our observations are discussed. Orthorhombic as well as cubic phase Cd 2 SnO 4 nanoparticles have been synthesized by one step solution combustion method. X-ray diffraction result confirms the high crystallinity and phase purity of the synthesized nanoparticles. TEM images reveals, the synthesized nanoparticles have spherical morphology with an average diameter of 30 nm for both phases. EDS spectra affirms the stoichiometric Cd 2 SnO 4 nanoparticles. Further, the gas sensors were fabricated using thick film, deposited on alumina substrate by doctor blade method, of the synthesized nanoparticles. In order to determine the sensitivity and detection limit, 1 μL of diluted VOCs was inserted into the sensing chamber at atmospheric pressure and the variation of resistance with respect to time has been monitored. The sensing result suggests that cubic and orthorhombic phase nanoparticles are highly sensitive (S ̴ 65%) and selective towards isopropanol and methanol vapors, respectively, at 170 °C. Aim: The aim of this study was to validate the role of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in investigating HER2/neu gene amplification (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2) in patients with HER2/neu equivocal breast cancer diagnosed on immunohistochemistry (IHC).Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective study conducted from January 2013 to October 2017. A total of 134 patients diagnosed with invasive breast carcinoma and HER2/neu equivocal status on IHC were analyzed. Also, the cases for the years 2016 and 2017 formed a subgroup that was analyzed further to study the impact of pre-analytical factors on IHC and FISH results.Results: A total of 134 women with HER2/neu IHC equivocal breast cancer were included in the study with a median age of 50 years (range 25-81). HER2/neu amplification by FISH was noted in 72 (54%) cases, whereas it was non-amplified in 52 (39%) cases. Ten cases were reported as equivocal even on FISH (ASCO/CAP 2013 guidelines). Polysomy 17 was noted in 55 cases (41%), of which 26 patients were≤50 years and 29 patients were >50 years of age. Twenty (36%) of these 55 cases showed HER2/neu amplification, whereas 26 (48%) cases were non-amplified and 9 (16%) cases were reported as equivocal on FISH. Also, more than half of the polysomy cases were hormone receptor negative.Conclusion: IHC is a good screening tool for negative and positive results. Any patient targeted for trastuzumab therapy should undergo confirmation of HER2/neu equivocal status by FISH analysis. We also suggest that if a non-classical FISH pattern is seen, the test should be repeated with a non-centromeric chromosome 17 reference locus probe for better treatment planning. Background: Skin is the second most common site for extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). Most primary cutaneous NHLs are of T-cell origin (70%). Primary cutaneous B-cell lymphoma (PCBCL) is a rare entity.Materials and Methods: Patients diagnosed with PCBCL between January 2012 and July 2017 at our center were retrospectively analyzed.Results: Eight patients of PCBCL were diagnosed. Three patients (37.5%) were males while 5 patients (62.5%) were females. The median age at diagnosis was 45 years (range, 18-60 years). Scalp was the most common site of involvement (50% of the patients). Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) was the most common histology (63%), with leg-type DLBCL diagnosed in 1 patient. Two patients had primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma, whereas the remaining 1 patient had precursor B-lymphoblastic lymphoma. All 5 DLBCL cases were treated with CHOP chemotherapy, and rituximab was given to 3 patients. Of the primary cutaneous follicle center lymphomas, 1 patient with stage II disease was treated with CHOP and is alive without recurrence for the past 5 years, whereas the other patient is on observation alone. The patient with precursor B-lymphoblastic lymphoma was started on MCP-841 protocol; however, the patient did not complete the treatment and died after 11 months.Conclusions: PCBCL is a heterogeneous group of diseases and dividing them into subtypes, based on morphology and immunophenotype, has therapeutic implications. Background: A macular hole is a full-thickness defect of retinal tissue involving the anatomic fovea, thereby affecting central visual acuity. Pars plana vitrectomy and gas tamponade is a recognised modality of treatment for macular hole.Larger holes are more likely to remain open after repair and late reopening after an initially closed macular hole is seen in macular holes larger than 400 µm. Aims and Objective: To evaluate the anatomical and functional outcome of pars plana vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling for chronic stage 3 macular hole. Materials and Methods: Records of 15 patients with stage 3 chronic macular holes operated from 1st January 2013 to 30th June 2013 and completed 1 year of follow up were retrospectively evaluated and included in the study. Preoperative best distance corrected visual acuity (BCVA), preoperative macular hole size, final BCVA and macular hole status at 1 year follow up were recorded. Macular hole closure and visual improvement was calculated. Correlation of macular hole closure and visual improvement with various macular hole parameter was estimated. Results: Eleven (73.3%) macular holes closed at 1 year follow-up. Mean BCVA improved from 1.2 ± 0.27 to 0.89 ± 0.36 logarithm of minimum angle of resolution at 1 year (p<0.001). Visual improvement was seen in only eight (53.3%) eyes. Both macular hole closure and visual improvement showed no correlation with minimum linear diameter, base diameter and hole height. Conclusion: Chronic stage 3 macular hole can be closed successfully in majority of patients with fairly good visual improvement. Background: Bone marrow involvement by solid tumor implicates advanced disease and dismal prognosis. Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy are routinely performed as staging workup for certain small round cell tumors and also for unexplained cytopenia in other solid tumors. It is important to rule out bone marrow involvement before planning for curative treatment. Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective observational study. The aim of our study was to evaluate the pattern of bone marrow involvement by different solid tumors and their correlation with the hematological abnormalities. We retrospectively evaluated bone marrow aspirations and biopsy performed in past 3 years. Results: At our institution, bone marrow examinations were performed in 440 patients during past 3 years for solid malignancies. Out of 440, 206 were pediatric cases and 234 were adult cases. Bone marrow was involved in 56 (12.7%) patients. Among the pediatric cases, bone marrow involvement was present in 30 (12.8%) cases, and in adult cases, bone marrow was involved was in 26 (11.1%) cases. Neuroblastoma (40%) was the most common malignancy, which involved the bone marrow among pediatric cases, followed by retinoblastoma (26.6%) and Ewing's sarcoma (20%). Among adult patients, neuroendocrine carcinoma (23%) was at the top of the list of tumors involving bone marrow, which is followed by Ewing's sarcoma (19.2%) and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (11.5%). Conclusion: Neuroblastoma and neuroendocrine carcinoma are the major cause of bone marrow involvement among the solid malignancies in pediatric and adult population, respectively. We report a rare case of 40-years-old male patient who presented with right shoulder joint swelling and reduced range of motion since one and half month. Subsequent X-ray and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) revealed completely resorbed humeral head, extensive intra-articular debris, joint effusion and thickened synovium. MRI of whole spine showed long segment syrinx, pointed peg of tonsils with tonsillar ectopia and basilar invagination. The world population and consequently the global need for food continue to grow. At the same time, areas will be used to generate clean electricity to cope with climate change and global warming. The combination of crop production and solar photovoltaics in the form of "agrivoltaic technology" offers advantages for both sides that provide an adequate, resource-efficient solution to the persistent problem of competition for arable lands. The implementation of agrivoltaic systems has been exponentially increased in recent years and reached the global installed capacity of 2.8 GW in 2020 from the initial capacity of 5 MW in 2012. The agrivoltaic systems installed worldwide mostly employ conventional opaque photovoltaic (PV) modules, causing a change in the microclimate under the panels that become critical when shading ratios are high. Semi-transparent PV (STPV) modules have been recently employed to mitigate this issue which is profoundly studied in this research by considering the use of semi-transparent technologies based on crystalline silicon (c-Si), thin-film photovoltaics, organic PVs (OPVs), dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), concentrating PVs (CPVs), and luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) in open (arable farming lands) and closed (cultivation greenhouses) agrivoltaic systems. The results indicated that c-Si STPV modules have the highest share of employment in agrivoltaic systems due to their extreme benefits of low costs, high stability, and high efficiency in comparison with other technologies, while in contrast, the use of thin-film STPV modules have been rarely reported in the literature. Additionally, STPV modules using OPVs and DSSCs offer the capability to achieve wavelength-selective transparency, causing the photosynthetic active radiation to pass through while the remained spectrum is utilized to generate electricity. Other potential solutions come from CPVs and LSCs, in which, diffuse light is available for the growth of cultivated plants, while direct concentrated sunlight can generate electricity.
