En esta investigación se analizará la adecuación de las representaciones de los recursos cartográficos incluidos en sistemas de recuperación de información a las necesidades de búsqueda y acceso por parte de la comunidad especializada en Geografía. Entre los objetivos propuestos se busca relevar dichos sistemas a nivel público, gubernamental y nacional; identificar las normas o esquemas de metadatos que se utilizan y estudiar los modos de búsqueda, acceso y utilización de estos recursos. La metodología de trabajo que se implementará estará basada en un enfoque cuanti-cualitativo de carácter descriptivo-exploratorio a desarrollarse en tres fases o etapas de trabajo. La primera de ellas estará destinada al análisis de las representaciones a partir de la identificación de los sistemas y la posterior aplicación de criterios de evaluación e instrumentos para efectuar la observación. La segunda fase, incluirá la realización de una encuesta sobre la población seleccionada para conocer cómo los usuarios acceden a la información contenida en los recursos cartográficos, que se complementará con entrevistas semi-estructuradas a partir de una muestra intencional a sujetos clave. En una tercera etapa, se analizarán de forma comparativa los resultados de la fase uno y dos a fin de identificar las relaciones entre las representaciones, los sistemas existentes y las expectativas y necesidades de búsqueda de los usuarios = This research will analyze the adequacy of the representations of cartographic resources included in information retrieval systems to the search and access needs of the community specialized in Geography. Among the proposed objectives are to survey such systems at the public, governmental, and national levels; to identify the metadata standards or schemes used, and to study the ways of searching, accessing and using these resources. The work methodology to be implemented will be based on a descriptive-exploratory and quantitative-qualitative approach to be developed in three phases or work stages. The first phase will be devoted to the analysis of the representations based on the identification of the systems and the subsequent application of evaluation criteria and instruments to carry out the observation. The second phase will include a survey of the selected population to learn how users access the information contained in the cartographic resources, which will be complemented with semi-structured interviews based on a purposive sample of key subjects. In a third stage, the results of phase one and two will be analyzed comparatively in order to identify the relationships between the representations, the existing systems and the expectations and search needs of the users.

Objective. Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) and celiac disease (CD) are two distinct medical conditions that can affect bone health. While PHPT leads to excessive calcium levels and bone abnormalities, CD impairs calcium and vitamin D absorption due to small intestine damage. Case report. We present a case of a 49-year-old woman diagnosed with osteoporosis who was found to have both PHPT and CD. The patient underwent a successful minimally invasive parathyroidectomy, which resulted in decreased parathyroid hormone levels. Conclusion. This case highlights the rare coexistence of PHPT and CD and emphasizes the importance of considering secondary causes of osteoporosis in patients with low bone mass. Further studies are needed to explore the underlying mechanisms and potential links between PHPT and CD.

Background: Structured reporting has been demonstrated to increase report completeness and to reduce error rate, also enabling data mining of radiological reports. Still, structured reporting is perceived by radiologists as a fragmented reporting style, limiting their freedom of expression. Purpose: A deep learning-based natural language processing method was developed to automatically convert unstructured COVID-19 chest CT reports into structured reports. Methods: Two hundred-two COVID-19 chest CT were retrospectively reviewed by two experienced radiologists, who wrote for each exam a free-form text radiological report and coherently filled the template provided by the Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology, used as ground-truth. A semi-supervised convolutional neural network was implemented to extract 62 categorical variables from the report. Two iterations were carried-out, the first without fine-tuning, the second one performing a fine-tuning. The performance was measured using the mean accuracy and the F1 mean score. An error analysis was performed to identify errors entirely attributable to incorrect processing of the model. Results: The algorithm achieved a mean accuracy of 93.7% and an F1 score 93.8% in the first iteration. Most of the errors were exclusively attributable to wrong inference (46%). In the second iteration the model achieved for both parameters 95,8% and percentage of errors attributable to wrong inference decreased to 26%. Conclusions: The convolutional neural network achieved an optimal performance in the automated conversion of free-form text into structured radiological reports, overcoming all the limitation attributed to structured reporting and finally paving the way for data mining of radiological report.

Potato, an important cash crop, is critically affected by supply chain losses that require attention of both research and industry to ensure sustainable production (SDG 12.3). Within potato supply chain management, dry matter (DM) determination is a key factor affecting the harvest quality, storability, food losses, designated user and tuber prices. Even though rapid methods like near-infrared spectroscopy (NIR) enable operators to carry out fast, reliable in situ measurements, the prediction results are often unsatisfactory due to inherent variability of tuber's composition. Thus, this study aims to evaluate Fourier Transformed-NIR based DM prediction in different potato tissues: i) periderm, ii) cortex, iii) outer medulla and iv) inner medulla of 12 different cultivars. The DM prediction models developed using standard chemometrics approaches (i.e., partial least squares, PLS; and interval-PLS, iPLS) showed that features selection by iPLS allowed for better performances. Among the evaluated tissues, the inner medulla had more precise and reliable measurements with RMSE and R2 prediction values of 0.93% and 0.90, respectively. This information can be used to develop more advanced systems inclusive of portable tools and advanced technologies for in situ evaluation to support operators and ensure better pre- and post-harvest management of potatoes.

Atellica Solution (AS) is a platform that incorporates immunoassay and chemistry modules. AS is fitted with a refrigerated storage module (RSM) for internal quality controls (QC). The objective of this study was to assess the maximum permissible storage time in AS for QCs.

The evolution of microstructures, textures, and residual stresses scale of cold-drawn (CD) 18%Cr ferritic stainless steels (FSS) round bars under isothermal static recrystallization annealing are investigated. As for determination of the new grains' formation, the size, growth, and orientation, as well as the nucleation of grains, alongside revealing the recrystallization fractions are studied by a mixed experimental and theoretical work. The recrystallization kinetics are calculated according to the Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov theory. Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) analyses are applied for the actual specimens of an industrial wire drawing process with 20 and 35% reduction rates. The heat treatment has been implemented at three different set ratio temperatures of 0.65, 0.68, and 0.71, defining as a ratio between the temperatures of annealing and melting point (TRAM). According to the results, the nucleation is occurred at faster incubation time with higher temperature and reduction rate. The grain average size (AGS) increases gradually whereas the temperature increases. This is while the 0.71TRAM-scale annealed samples illustrate finer and more equiaxed recrystallized grains. Following recovery, recrystallized grains, and the grain growth, the overall varied AGS of 27–86 μm in the core region are achieved. Moreover, the JMAK model agrees well with the obtained experimental data. All in all, this 18Cr-FSS material is taken into account for the optimal industrial annealing production as well as the targeted material selection of the market applications. It is observed that the higher recrystallization leads the higher magnetic permeability, lower coercivity, and lower residual stresses compared to the unheated specimens.

Virgin olive oil (VOO) nutritional and sensory quality depends on several aspects, including mechanical extraction technology: in this regard, malaxation conditions play a pivotal role since the major transformations linked to phenolic compounds (PC) and volatile compounds (VC) development and degradation take place during this step. Most of the reported studies state that malaxation should be carried out at temperature ranging 18–27°C for 30–40 min: this allows PC solubilization in the oil phase, the production of secoiridoid derivatives, and the development of aroma-active aldehydes, alcohols, and esters, limiting both PC losses and the generation of undesired VC. Reducing oxygen concentration in the headspace up to 5% helps to preserve the phenolic fraction, but slightly impairs VC generation. The use of pectolytic enzyme preparations and the application of innovative technologies like pulsed electric fields and ultrasound promote cell damages, and thereby the release of enzymes and micro-components. This review prioritizes the importance of further research aimed at defining specific optimization charts for each olive cultivar and maturity level, due to the relevant impact of genetics and agronomical factors. Furthermore, kneading conditions may be defined also depending on the desired quality of VOO, e.g., antioxidant power and/or bitterness level.

The cyclical spread of the pandemic requires a modification of the urban and territorial planning tools and a national anti-pandemic urban and territorial plan. The objective of the paper is to present some proposals for the protection from Covid risk, with a flexible reorganization of the times, spaces of the city and the territory. The working methodology consists in the revision of procedures for the protection from seismic risks and their expansion and complexification for the protection from pandemic risk. Some summary results of the study, currently being completed, concern suggestions for the search for a symbiosis between the city of concentration, peripheralization and diffusion with the introduction of flexible, temporary and uncertain uses. But the possibility of reducing socio-spatial inequalities in cities, regions and the country can only be pursued in the context of European funding from the Recovery Plan. The conclusions show that, with the recurrence of "mutant" pandemics, the city abandons the certainty of a continuity, in alternating phases, of development, the stability of uses and times of use of the urban space, favored by the permanence of habits and forms of consolidated life, and it will become a transforming city, a two-faced city.
