Executive Information System (EIS) is a system established to provide information needed by the executive in the decision making process. This information technology is not only used in business activities, but can help an executive in getting an accurate concise picture of the organization. The development of the Executive Information System is used to improve the quality of control and supervision in the Household Section of the Lampung Provincial General Administration Bureau on government official vehicle maintenance expenditures. The research design is classified as Casual Comperative Research. This study aims to develop and implement EIS in the Household Section of the Lampung Provincial Government General Bureau and establish EIS as an implementation of clean government and good government. This system reduces the occurrence of data accumulation and redundancy, so as to prevent the occurrence of indications of corruption, and makes it easier for executives to verify vehicle maintenance data with fairness and rationality with the amount of budget submission. The method used in this study is EIS starting from the stages of planning, implementation, software testing, documentation, deployment and maintenance. So that EIS can control and provide supervision on vehicle maintenance data manipulation that embodies clean government and good government. Providing easy access for university executives that refers to key success factors is a must for universities. The information system integrates with all departments to obtain fast and accurate information for decision making. The purpose of this paper is to determine the factors that affect the application of executive information systems in universities in view of technological factors, data factors and internal factors of college. The results will be used by all stakeholders of higher education internally and externally. Internal side for the purposeof improving the quality and performance of universities, while the external side can be utilized for the purpose of the institution accreditation process. The method used is to collect research results relating to executive information systems in colleges and review based on predetermined keywords and analyze the results of reviews into a complete report.

Most information retrieval technologies are designed to facilitate information discovery. However, much knowledge work involves finding and re-using previously seen information. We describe the design and evaluation of a system, called Stuff I've Seen (SIS), that facilitates information re-use. This is accomplished in two ways. First, the system provides a unified index of information that a person has seen, whether it was seen as email, web page, document, appointment, etc. Second, because the information has been seen before, rich contextual cues can be used in the search interface. The system has been used internally by more than 230 employees. We report on both qualitative and quantitative aspects of system use. Initial findings show that time and people are important retrieval cues. Users find information more easily using SIS, and use other search tools less frequently after installation.

During natural disasters, a significant amount of information is shared over the Internet. Therefore, it is desirable to provide disaster information based on information about individual users. However, there is a trade-off between the protection of user information and the quality of services that should be considered when providing disaster information. We propose a method that rationally determines the extent of user information to be disclosed. The effectiveness of the proposed method was evaluated experimentally. The experiments were conducted using the proposed method and a simple determination method wherein both the utility and intention of the user were considered relative to the extent of user information disclosure. In addition, the extent to which the trade-off was considered for each user was evaluated quantitatively.

In this article, the identification and the analysis of the problem in facilitating the role management information systems have been studied. Moreover, the decision maker’s satisfaction and content of information and information access quality have been critically analyzed and studied following the methodology of the previous studies. We identified necessary variables aiming to analyze the influence of management information systems in decision support capabilities. Precisely, this investigation proposes different hypotheses most of which aims to identify the relationship between management information systems and decision support capabilities. The variables included in the research model are the impact on problem definition, speed of problem identification, decision-making analysis, user satisfaction, information access, the content of information quality, decision speed, and decision quality.

In today’s modern age, information systems are of vital importance for successful performance of any organization. The most important role of any information system is its information support. This paper develops an information support model and presents the results of the survey examining the effects of such model. The survey was performed among the employees of Brčko District Government and comprised three phases. The first phase assesses the influence of the quality of information support and information on information support when making decisions. The second phase examines the impact of information support when making decisions on the perceived availability and user satisfaction with information support. The third phase examines the effects of perceived usefulness as well as information support satisfaction on user loyalty. The model is presented using six hypotheses, which were tested by means of a multivariate regression analysis. The demonstrated model shows that the quality of information support and information is of vital importance in the decision-making process. The perceived usefulness and customer satisfaction are of vital importance for continuous usage of information support. The model is universal, and if slightly modified, it can be used in any sphere of life where satisfaction is measured for clients and users of some service.

It is important for knowledge workers in the business sector to have access to information on companies, countries, investment opportunities, and projects. Survey of information finding practices of professionals in Kuwaiti companies showed that use of web sites, internal reports, and consulting with colleagues were preferred approaches for finding work related information. Business professionals also frequently used organizational sites, reports from financial analysts, business information services, and social media in seeking information. They listed lack of adequate information in databases and non-availability of information related to local financial situation as barriers to effective information finding. They considered their information finding skills as reasonable but wanted to get more training in searching online databases and web-based sources. The study showed that business organizations ought to make arrangements that frequently used sources were accessible to their employees on regular basis. It is also desirable that training in information skills is arranged by for enhanced information literacy at work.

Knowledge, information and people are the motive force in today's organizations. Successful organizations need to find the right employees and provide them with the right and high-quality information. This is a complex problem. In the world where information plays more and more important role, employees have to be skilled at information activities (searching, processing, saving, etc. of information) and information system/-s (IS) they work with. Organizations have to cover both these areas. Therefore, we need an effective instrument, which could be used to evaluate new employees within admission or as regular evaluating of current employees, to evaluate information system, whether it is an appropriate tool for fulfilling the employee’s tasks within the organization, and to evaluate how the organization covers the foregoing areas. Such instrument is the “Evaluation methodology of information support in organization”. This paper defines the term “information support“ and its role in organization. The body of the paper proposes the “Evaluation methodology of information support in organization”. The conclusion discusses contributions of information support evaluation.

Context: Executive information systems (EIS) are valuable tools that enable executives to formulate and execute strategic decisions in their organizations. However, implementation of an EIS is complex and laden with numerous risks.Objective: We apply the socio-technical model (STM) to propose a framework of risks for the development and implementation of an EIS. Such a framework may serve to guide risk management strategies and procedures beyond current practices.Method: To assess, and better understand, the risks associated with implementing an EIS, interviews were conducted with the employees of three principle stakeholders of a taxation EIS. The interviews centered on the detailed experiences of the participants applying and working with EIS projects at their respective organizations.Results: Content analysis of the interviews confirmed an ability to designate risks to both the project and the product of development through dimensions of task, actor, structure and technology as well as the fit between each combination. The result adds credence to the model for purposes of risk management in the development of an EIS.Conclusion: Executive information systems play an integral role in business decision making. The successful construction and implementation of an EIS are reliant upon a clear understanding of the appropriate technology to be used, the end-user accessing the system, and the tasks executed. The STM is a useful tool for the identification of risks in the creation of an EIS. Further work should consider the extendability to other systems and its compatibility with development approaches.

The paper aims at examining management information system as a veritable tool for a sustainable business development and growth: A survey of selected commercial banks in Warri, Delta State. The study spotlighted the objectives, advantages of management information system and information required by business organizations. The characteristics of an effective management information systems and the reasons why management information fail in organization system were also x-rayed. The primary data was obtained through structured questionnaire administered on 80 (eighty) senior staff of ten commercial banks in Warri, Delta State and all were retrieved while the secondary data was gotten from related textbooks. Data analysis was made using frequency counts and simple percentage tables and the hypotheses were tested using chi-square (X 2 ) statistical technique. The results showed a significant relationship between effective management information system, decision making and control. The study concludes that efficient management information system is a sine-quanon for business development and growth and recommends adequate training of employees, evaluation and controlling the system for an effective management information system in organizations.

The paper presents the development of special information systems for the modern business environment by including new functions and modules developed based on last generation technical means. The research results are of great value especially for SMEs, which have the capability of best adapting to such an evolution of the information system, and, by their particularities, are the most motivated in approaching such an improvement strategy of their own information system. The research proved the possibility to develop a completely new integrated information system, at the highest technological level, aiming to completely support all the information processing in a SME.

Information support model of management control is provided for building an integrated information system which collects detailed information about the state of the company on the strategic, tactical and operational levels of management and directions. Its construction is based on the concept of 4Ms and the pyramid of efficiency. The exact model designed for information support of management control has been formed by assessing 3 alternative models (conviction, cooperation and pragmatism) and selected on the basis of the strategy of the company, its specifics and existing features of the environment in which it functions. Taking into account the factors of instability in the formation of information support of management control for managerial decision-making it is reasonable to rely on such methods as adjustments, risk analysis and sensitivity analysis. Based on Arrow's impossibility theorem and the existing state of the management control systems regarding determination of groups of indicators, which will be monitoring effectiveness, it is expedient to introduce a dictatorial approach.

This paper presents components and concepts of administration shifting from traditional university to become the smart university. Also, we analyze Academic Information Systems (AIS) at university level including Transaction Processing System (TPS), Management Information System (MIS), Decision Support System (DSS) and Executive Information System (EIS) as framework and guideline for management of Smart University and driving Thailand 4.0 policy.

The field of management information systems in Yemeni companies still dealing with issues in adopting the technologies and success factors. This study attempts to focus deeply on the factors that lead to successful adoption of management information systems (MIS) in Yemeni organizations. This paper investigates the relationship between technological factors (system quality, information quality, and service quality), organizational factors (top management support, and user training), and people factors (computer self-efficacy, and user experience) with organizational performance, focusing on people who are always associated with MIS in their work. This study found that there are positive correlated relationship between system quality, information quality, service quality, top management support, user training, computer self-efficacy, and user experience with organizational performance at Sabafon Company in Yemen.

Integrating Business Intelligence (BI) processes in an information system requires a form of strategic scanning system for which the information is the main source of efficiency and decision support. A process of strategic scanning system network is primarily a cooperative approach to sharing knowledge that actors are "producers" of information. The dynamics of the actor’s interactions allow gradual building of shared knowledge. This paper proposes Multi Agent System (MAS) architecture which facilitates the integration of a process of strategic scanning system network in the information system, to emerge relevant information from simple information while ensuring the quality and safety information . In particular, this approach is geared towards supporting system properties specially focused on cooperative multi-agent system. It gives finally an overview of implementation of a prototype of the proposed solution limited for the moment to the integration of processes most used in the majority of information systems.

En este trabajo de investigación se explica ampliamente para la implementaciónde un proyecto utilizando la herramienta Pentaho. La implementación consiste en diferentes etapas de BI, desdeel análisis ETL hasta los reportes o explotación por vía web. Este proyecto servirá como base para proyectos deesta naturaleza o similares.

Nowadays, due to the intensive growth, development and globalization of organizations, managers work hard to conduct their tasks in efficient manners. Executive Information System (EIS) is a type of computer-based information system that can assist senior managers to monitor and access all information related to management of organization. However, as a result of competitive environment and globalization, senior managers have been challenging with providing clear, relevant and accurate information that is required for making efficient decisions. This paper concentrates on the evaluation of existing information systems and investigates the impact of EIS implementation on the decision-making processes of top management, as well as provides recommendations in terms of utilizing information systems for HOZ Group Company in North of Iraq.

Background: Executives are steering organisations in our most turbulent economic times, whereby market disrupters are becoming the norm that are eradicating entire value chains of organisations. It is for this reason that decision support mechanisms for executives have become more critical than ever before. We have seen many leading organisations being reduced to market followers. This leaves many critical questions: What could the executives of those prior leading organisations have done to prevent this? Does the information that is being presented at various senior committees for decisions in an organisation contain information quality and is information quality linked to decisions made by executives? Objectives: This article presents mathematical evidence that information quality does form part of an executive decision support framework (EDSF) and confirms that information quality should form part of an EDSF. Method: A mixed method research approach was then followed where semi-structured interviews were held with chief information officers. The semi-structured interviews thereafter informed the survey questionnaires design. The survey questionnaires were statistically analysed using structural equation modelling and the maximum likelihood estimates method, to mathematically prove if information quality does form part of an EDSF. Results: This research provides evidence that information quality is linked to an EDSF and that information quality should form part of an EDSF. Conclusion: It is clear, therefore, that information quality is mathematically linked to an EDSF. Although information quality is made up of other latent variables that affect it, there is a strong correlation between information quality and an EDSF.

One of them is Islamic education institutions or Islamic boarding schools that have developed nformation systems for Islamic boarding school. In building a boarding school information system, applications and data are needed. Data architecture obtained from a hierarchy of information systems consisting of executive information systems, management informations systems, and transaction processing systems. Architecture design of information systems for Islamic boarding school is done by building an ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) from a collection of data needed on boarding school information systems. ERD is a database building model by describing relations between database entities.

The Method that we need for Developing this System is by using the Fuzzy Mamdani Logic Method, there are 4 Steps to bring the Output of this Method 1.) Creating a Fuzzy set, 2.) Application of Function Implication 3.) Composition Law, 4.) Defuzzification. Based on this research, we will make a comparison between Manual Calculation and System Calculation, with the Accuracy 100%. The final result of this Method can be referenced for System Executive to Analyze the Student that should be given a Warning or Drop Out.

The objective of this research is to analyse necessities that faced to build integrated information system for a higher education institution, obstacles that encounter when building a system by utilising consultant service from external and internal, and benefits that perceived by a higher institution after owning the integrated information system according to the needs of the higher institution. The method used in this research was quantitative analysis towards information system application which is owned and the development that undertake related to the integration of university information system. The analysis result shows that integrated executives information system would make easier to search for a data and taking decisions based on authorisation level and their respective interest. Build information system by utilising consultant service or by an internal team highly depends on the level of necessities from each higher institution regarding the information access that needed, internal team capacities and the budget owned. Building information system internally needs longer time but it possesses the ease if requiring an addition or changing the content in the future.

Those are challenges for the Executives Boards in universities to develop strategies of the existing conditions in order to plan programs to support the vision of universities. Executive Information System is required to display information strategically based on the existing data conditions. The present research identified a web-based Executive Information Systems called SIMORI. It is the system development method using System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach through system investigation step with feasibility study, system analysis, design analysis, and implementation. Critical factors for the success of the system are good data governance, while the data currently displayed still need to be completed and improved. The strategy to be developed will be managing mobility data of scientific reputation by involving all Faculties and the Departments of university to up-date data through Academic Management Information System, to be verified by the executive and will be presented as strategic information for the university communities.

The research method used in this study is a qualitative method. The development of information technology too influential on the field of management accounting as a field information producer in the planning framework, controlling and decision making of management. The influence can be of a nature profitable or detrimental to the company.

With the constant development of SG-ERP system and information-based enterprises construction. The original model of information resource management cannot meet the needs the information system construction and deep appliance in the aspect of the efficiency of information resource management as well as the level of information service. In order to change the current situation of information system construction, an efficient and flexible information resource management system is badly needed, which can match the rapid development of information enterprise construction.

Recognizing the importance of information management systems, Bahirdar University introduced its student information management system in 2009. However, studies had not been conducted on the functioning of this system. This study, therefore, examined the information management practices of the University. The academic leaders, core process owners, and the system administrators were the research participants selected purposely, for they are main actors in initiating and managing the information system of the university. The information collected using semi-structured interviews and focus group discussion was analyzed using thematic analysis. Accordingly, it was revealed that apart from achievements made, lack of required resources, the centralized nature of the system, poor culture of the academic staff in meeting deadlines stipulated in the system, and lack of adequate computer skills on the part of the users were the major challenges encountered in the implementation of the existing student information management system, which has not yet been implemented in managing the information of distance, summer, extension, and graduate program students. Worst of all, this practice was not extended to the library and other administrative core processes. Hence, the University should revisit the functioning of its student information management system, and also take initiatives in automating the information management systems of the other administrative core processes. This paper proposes the double closed-loop organization model, a reconstruction method based on information management. Through the study of the effective management of information, the organization of information is enriched and the sharing of information is enhanced. Therefore, the organization has a certain intelligence, which provides theoretical guidance for the organizational reconstruction.

As it's known to all, taking full advantage of useful information in university information management systems can improve the quality and efficiency of university management. With the aim at the characteristic of the information management system, this paper proposes practical applications of the Data Mining in university information management by analyzing the process, main workload and main technical methods of data mining. The main focus when improving business processes is on the analysis of material flow. Thorough analysis of the information flow and associated information systems is still undervalued. Working with inaccurate and/or obsolete data leads to incorrect outputs that negatively affect the entire control process. Analysis of the state of material has to go hand in hand with the information analysis. A mini audit of the information flow and information system can be carried out, which follows the classic principles of VSM (Value stream mapping), in order to make an initial analysis of the information flow and information system. Information about the current state of the process together with a measure how well it is represented by the model in the information system can be obtained thanks to this mini-audit. This article focuses on this mini-audit and briefly describes the auditing process. The details of how to create VSM maps is discussed with the main focus on an information flow where the key elements are the inputs and the outputs of the job orders for planning and production management. Attention is also focused on the form of delays in discrete-event recording in the production process which appear in the information system.

This paper provides a managerial overview of the topic of decision making under the broad area of executive functions. First a brief idea is provided about executive functions. Then, some pertinent definitions and theories of decision making are discussed. We then provide a brief overview of cognitive biases, systematic errors, and the use of heuristics in decision making. Some practical aspects are covered in the next section using the relevant aspects of both the science and art of executive decision making. We conclude with a few specific observations in this area.

The design of records management information system should take into account the features of information technology and the special requirements of records management to guide the design of the system with a brand new idea. Through the analysis of functions of network-based records management information system, this paper made an in-depth study on the system architecture, logical structure, and data storage and optimized and adjusted the data model combined with specific development needs and development environment. It also provided the specific solutions and technical measures on the records management information systems with numerous and complex data information.

This study frames antecedents of effective information use, outlining a nomological network that firms follow to achieve integrated information delivery and effective information use. Our focus is on senior business executives' assessment of information delivered by their organizations' information systems. We first clarify the definition of information as it relates to information delivery and effective use. Then, drawing from institutional theory and the resource-based view of the firm, we propose a research model consisting of external institutional pressure, internal information systems (IS) resources, integrated information delivery, and effective information use and empirically test it through a field survey of senior business executives and post hoc qualitative analysis. Our findings position information delivery as an important research construct leading to effective information use and value. Our study also highlights the important role of the IS function as a facilitator of effective information use and a nurturer of a strong information culture in organizations.
