61. Silica‐Confined Ru Species Highly Dispersed on the Porous Ce‐Modified ZrO2 Matrix with Different Redox and Acidity Properties for the Catalytic Combustion of 1,2‐Dichloroethane.

Abstract

The RuO2@CemZr1−mO2−SiO2 catalysts were synthesized by the spontaneous deposition method. Based on the XRD patterns of various RuO2@CemZr1−mO2−SiO2 catalysts, it was suggested that the Ru noble metal nanoparticles were distributed with high dispersion on the surface of Ce‐modified porous matrix of ZrO2. H2‐TPR and NH3‐TPD confirmed that all catalysts possessed superior redox ability as well as acidity, which were facilitated to the catalytic dichloroethane (DCE) oxidation. From the systematic study of texture structure, surface properties and catalytic activity, we knew that acid sites were shown to be favorable for adsorption as well as activation of DCE and improve the anti‐poisoning property of the catalyst, and the redox ability could facilitate the further oxidation of the intermediate. The optimized RuO2@Ce0.1Zr0.9O2−SiO2 catalyst exhibited superior activity (T90=275 °C at a space velocity of 15000 h−1), good stability (at 300 °C for 50 h) and outstanding tolerance towards moisture (in 5 % moisture). Abstract

Adjusting the structure and surface profiles of CeO2could significantly modify its catalytic performance for CVOCs. Herein, we reported a plasma strategy for the post-treatment of CeO2nanorods with more active sites to enhance 1,2-dichloroethane oxidation performance. The constructed 40P-CeO2catalyst exhibited superior catalytic activity (T90= 290 °C) and excellent stability (12 h at 275 °C). Experimental results revealed that the plasma treatment led to the reduction of cell parameters of CeO2nanorods. DFT calculation showed that the reduction of cell parameters was beneficial to the formation of oxygen vacancies. And the synergistic effect of increased oxygen vacancies and acid sites enhanced the conversion of 1,2-dichloroethane and reduced the formation of chlorinated organic by-products. This work identifies the effect of the DBD plasma treatment over these activated catalysts for CVOCs catalytic combustion and could provide a novel and universal strategy for the synthesis of highly active and stable catalysts.

Abstract

Adjusting the acidity and/or oxygen species on the surface of metal oxide nanostructures could fabricate the high active and durable catalysts for the combustion of chlorinated volatile organic compounds (CVOCs). Herein, Al‐modified mesoporous SiO2 matrix supported uniform CeO2 nanodots (CeO2@xAlSiO2) was synthesized and evaluated in dichloroethane (DCE) catalytic combustion. From the systematic study of the texture structure, surface properties, and catalytic activity, we deduced that the improved surface acidity and oxygen species activity enhanced the DCE conversion and reduced the formation of chlorinated organic byproduct, while increasing the formation of the desired product, HCl. The optimized CeO2@0.5AlSiO2 sample showed superior activity (90 % conversion of DCE at 260 °C), excellent durability (at 280 °C for 60 h) and good tolerance towards moisture (in 1 % and 3 % moisture for 10 h, respectively). 94. Reinforced CO2Capture on Amine-Impregnated Organosilica with Double Brush-like Additives Modified

Abstract

Additive introduction based on porous amine-silica hybrid materials is one of the key technologies to enhance the ability of CO2capture. Hence, we first developed a one-step strategy of directly introducing brush-like cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC) and bis-(γ-triethoxysilylpropyl)-tetrasulfide (BTES) additives into the silica support to prepare micro-mesoporous organosilica nanoparticles with double brush-like additives modified (MMON-D). Then, the amine-functionalized CO2adsorbent (MMON-D-50) was obtained via tetraethylenepentamine impregnation. The adsorbent with double additives exhibited a higher CO2adsorption performance (4.04 mmol/gadsorbentand 0.33 mmol CO2/mmol N under pure CO2and 25 °C conditions) than that of the adsorbents with none or a single additive. Furthermore, spectra analysis, kinetics, and adsorption heats were performed to clarify the adsorption mechanism of the synergistic action of CTAC and BTES. The results revealed that CTAC as a quaternary ammonium formed on the adsorbent surface can facilitate the formation of carbamic acid. Meanwhile, BTES as a swelling agent endows silica support with a large pore size and inhibits the formation of silylpropyl carbamate to enhance CO2adsorption performance. This work supplies a novel surface-modified strategy for developing adsorbents with excellent CO2capture performance, which is of prime importance for both academic interests and practical applications.

95. High-precision synthesis of α-MnO2 nanowires with controllable crystal facets for propane oxidation.

Abstract

Determining the effect of crystal facets on reaction performance is essential for designing an efficient propane oxidation catalyst. Herein, α-MnO2 nanowires with exposed (110), (211), (310) and (200) facets were proposed, and their crystal facet-dependent reactivity to propane oxidation was investigated. The resultant α-MnO2 nanowires with predominantly exposed (110) facets showed the maximum propane oxidation activity (T90 = 262.1 °C), oxidation rate, and turnover frequency (at 230 °C), and high stability during the oxidation of propane. In situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy revealed that the oxidation to form carboxylates is the decisive step; therefore, the production of reactive oxygen species is very important. The results from density of states computations revealed that the lowest electron energy was present in the (110) facet, which helps in the generation of reactive oxygen species and the regulation of the surface valence of Mn. The characterization and calculation results indicated that the (110) facets are conducive to forming oxygen vacancies, which allowed the activation and adsorption of O2 and propane, resulting in significantly enhanced propane oxidation activity. Apart from offering new insights about the structure–activity relationship of α-MnO2 with different facets exposed for short-chain volatile oxidation reactions, this study proposes a technique that can be used for improving other manganese-based catalyst oxidation systems. 96. Plasma-induced surface interactions of Pd/SrTiO3catalyst for improved performance of photocatalytic degradation of toluene

Abstract

Defective engineering and the addition of noble metal are effective strategies to realize the high photocatalytic performance of SrTiO3perovskite. Here, the Pd/SrTiO3catalyst was successfully prepared by the low-temperature plasma treatment coupling with photochemical deposition of metal Pd, which was applied to the photocatalytic degradation of toluene. Compared with single STO, STON, and Pd-STO catalysts, the prepared Pd-STON catalyst shows the excellent UV photocatalytic performance toward toluene degradation, realizing a ca.80 % degradation efficiency within 90 min reaction time. Based on various characterizations, it revealed that plasma treatment promoted the formation of surface oxygen defects, and strengthened the metal-support interaction. The resultant surface oxygen vacancy accelerated the migration rate of photogenerated electrons and the separation of electrons and holes in space, benefiting for superior performance. It is expected that this study can provide new avenues for the rational design of highly efficient photocatalysts for potential practical applications.
