The article focuses on the shrimp ponds in Thailand and their possible health hazards. The author expresses his suspicion on the quality of the shrimp that emerges in markets in the U.S., as he witnesses truck loads of these sea food favorite, being transported several hours with refrigeration. Moreover the ponds where they are cultivated, are reportedly unhygienic, where certain chemicals are also suspected to be used. These ponds were created by clearing huge areas of mangrove.
