Paraduodenal hernias are a rare but important clinical entity, as their presentation can be life-threatening if not properly diagnosed and managed appropriately. Additionally, this entity is defined by a unique and complex congenital anatomical abnormality which dictates a specific treatment algorithm. Here we present the cases of three patients from our clinical experience who all presented with either acute or chronic small bowel obstructions secondary to paraduodenal hernias. Two were left-sided paraduoenal hernias and one was right-sided. All three patients were successfully managed with surgical intervention. Transmesenteric hernia is an internal hernia without a sac caused by a congenital defect of the mesentery. It is a rare cause of intestinal atresia, usually diagnosed intraoperatively, therefore, its prognosis is variable and may be associated with high morbidity and mortality. Objective: To report a case of transmesenteric hernia with multiple intestinal atresia of late diagnosis. Clinical Case: Male newborn, born at term, referred due to vomiting, scanty bowel movements, and abdominal distention. At 8 days of age and after excluding various causes of abdominal distention, the patient underwent exploratory laparotomy, identifying a transmesenteric hernia and two sites of intestinal atresia. Resection of the atretic segment and primary anastomosis were performed, with good evolution. Con-clusions: In the presence of neonatal intestinal obstruction, an appropriate differential diagnosis should be made, excluding the most frequent causes of intestinal obstruction, without leaving aside those unusual but potentially serious conditions, such as transmesenteric hernia associated or not with intestinal atresia. Internal herniation (IH) is a common problem after laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery (RYGB). Routine closure of the mesenteric defects (MDs) reduces the risk of IH. Only very few articles report on risk factors for IH or describe detailed closing techniques. There is no consensus yet on the best closing method. The objective of this study is to determine the optimal stapling method for closure of MDs after RYGB. All performed RYGB procedures in our high-volume bariatric institute were included. Quality of the closure was scored in the categories poor, sub-optimal, and optimal, to see if the quality of the closure would predict the chance of reopening of the MDs and, therefore, the chance of IH. During any type of laparoscopy in the follow-up of the patient, the conditions of the MDs were stated, for example during diagnostic laparoscopy in symptomatic patients suspicious for IH or during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Technically well-executed closure of Petersen's space (PS) with two rows of staples had a greater chance of still being closed upon re-inspection compared to closure with one row (odds ratio = 8.1; 95% confidence interval [1.2–53.2], p = 0.029). Optimal closure of the MD at the jejuno-jejunostomy (JJ-space, JJS) resulted in more closed JJSs upon re-inspection compared to sub-optimal closure (odds ratio = 3.6 [CI 95% 0.8–16.1], p = 0.099). Non-optimally closed MDs had higher reopening rates and, therefore, pose an additional risk for IH. Introduction: Internal hernia (IH) after Roux-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) can lead to extended small bowel ischemia if it not recognized and treated promptly. The aim of this study is to show whether improvement in mesenteric defect (MD) closure reduces the incidence of IH. Patients and Methods: Retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data from our database including all patients who underwent laparoscopic RYGB between 1999 and 2015. The usual technique was a retrocolic/retrogastric RYGB. We divided patients in four groups according to the closure technique for MD and compared incidences of IH between groups. All patients had at least 8 years of follow-up. Results: A total of 1927 patients (1497 females/460 males, mean age of 41.5 ± 11 years) were operated. A retrocolic/retrogastric RYGB was performed in 1747 (90.7%) and an antecolic RYGB in 180 patients. Mean duration of follow-up was 15 (8–24) years. 111 patients (5.8%) developed IH, the majority through the jejunojejunostomy (JJ, 3.7%) and Petersen (1.7%) defects. With improvement of closure technique, the incidence decreased over time, from 12.9% in the group with separate sutures to 1.05% in the most recent group with running non-absorbable sutures and an additional purse-string at the JJ defect (p < 0.0001). Conclusion: Meticulous closure of MD during RYGB is a very important step that significantly reduces the IH risk after RYGB, even with a retrocolic/retrogastric anatomy. Using running non absorbable braided sutures and an additional purse-string suture at the JJ is the most effective technique, but a small IH risk persists. Obesity remains a global health challenge linked to several comorbidities, such as obstructive sleep apnea, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes. The prevalence of bariatric surgeries being performed is steadily increasing because it is a highly effective surgical tool used to achieve significant permanent weight loss. However, with all weight loss surgeries, several complications may not present for months to years after the initial procedure. In particular, the anatomical changes that occur after the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RNYGB) make the risk of internal hernias high. This particular complication is rare but lethal if unrecognized and not treated promptly. This clinical case study aims to provide readers with an overview of diagnosing and recognizing an internal hernia in the setting of previous laparoscopic RNYGB surgical history. Because of the sheer increase in the volume of patients undergoing bariatric surgery worldwide, health care providers must be well educated on the insidious presentations of this late complication and be prepared to act quickly to diagnose and treat these acute abdomen scenarios. Lesser omental hernias are rare; however, they should be considered in symptomatic bowel obstruction subsequent to a subtotal or total colectomy. This report describes two cases of recurrent bowel obstruction secondary to lesser omental hernias after laparoscopic total colectomies for ulcerative colitis. Initially, these patients had been treated conservatively; however, due to symptom recurrence, surgical intervention was decided on. In both cases, laparoscopic surgery revealed lesser omental hernias. The small bowel, which had entered from the dorsal aspect of the stomach, was returned to the original position, and the lesser omentum was closed. The patients were discharged uneventfully, with no recurrent bowel obstruction during the follow‐up period. These cases highlight the importance of including internal hernias in the differential diagnosis relative to recurrent bowel obstruction, in patient subpopulations with a prior history of a subtotal or total colectomy. Background: The preservation of the left colic artery (LCA) has emerged as a preferred approach in laparoscopic radical resection for rectal cancer. However, preserving the LCA while simultaneously dissecting the NO.253 lymph node can create a mesenteric defect between the inferior mesenteric artery (IMA), the LCA, and the inferior mesenteric vein (IMV). This defect could act as a potential "hernia ring," increasing the risk of developing an internal hernia after surgery. The objective of this study was to introduce a novel technique designed to mitigate the risk of internal hernia by filling mesenteric defects with autologous tissue. Methods: This new technique was performed on eighteen patients with rectal cancer between January 2022 and June 2022. First of all, dissected the lymphatic fatty tissue on the main trunk of IMA from its origin until the LCA and sigmoid artery (SA) or superior rectal artery (SRA) were exposed and then NO.253 lymph node was dissected between the IMA, LCA and IMV. Next, the SRA or SRA and IMV were sequentially ligated and cut off at an appropriate location away from the "hernia ring" to preserve the connective tissue between the "hernia ring" and retroperitoneum. Finally, after mobilization of distal sigmoid, on the lateral side of IMV, the descending colon was mobilized cephalad. Patients'preoperative baseline characteristics and intraoperative, postoperative complications were examined. Results: All patients' potential "hernia rings" were closed successfully with our new technique. The median operative time was 195 min, and the median intraoperative blood loss was 55 ml (interquartile range 30–90). The total harvested lymph nodes was 13.0(range12−19). The median times to first flatus and liquid diet intake were both 3.0 days. The median number of postoperative hospital days was 8.0 days. One patient had an injury to marginal arterial arch, and after mobolization of splenic region, tension-free anastomosis was achieved. No other severe postoperative complications such as abdominal infection, anastomotic leakage, or bleeding were observed. Conclusions: This technique is both safe and effective for filling the mesenteric defect, potentially reducing the risk of internal hernia following laparoscopic NO.253 lymph node dissection and preservation of the left colic artery in rectal cancer surgeries. Introduction: To explore the diagnostic value of high-resolution ultrasound combined with multi-slice computer tomography (MSCT) for pediatric intra-abdominal hernias (IAHs), and to analyze the potential causes for missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis of IAHs in children. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 45 children with surgically confirmed IAHs. The diagnostic rate of IAHs by preoperative high-resolution ultrasound combined with MSCT was compared with that of intraoperative examination, and the potential causes for missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis by the combination method were analyzed. Results: Forty-five cases of pediatric IAHs were categorized into primary (25/45, 55.5%) and acquired secondary hernias (20/45, 44.5%). Among children with primary hernias, mesenteric defects were identified as the predominant subtype (40%). Acquired secondary hernias typically resulted from abnormal openings in the abdominal wall or band adhesions due to trauma, surgery, or inflammation. In particular, adhesive band hernias were the major type in children with acquired secondary hernias (40%). The diagnostic rate of high-resolution ultrasound was 77.8%, with "cross sign" as a characteristic ultrasonic feature. Among 10 cases of missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis, 5 were finally diagnosed as IAHs by multi-slice computer tomography (MSCT). Overall, the diagnostic rate of pediatric IAHs by preoperative ultrasound combined with radiological imaging reached 88.9%. Discussion: IAHs in children, particularly mesenteric defects, are prone to strangulated intestinal obstruction and necrosis. Background: Postoperative internal hernias after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) have an incidence of 2%-9% and are a surgical emergency. Evidence on factors associated with length of stay (LOS) after emergent internal hernia reduction in RYGB patients is limited. Methods: This is a retrospective review of patients who underwent internal hernia reduction after RYGB at our tertiary care center over a 5 year period from 2015 to 2020. Demographics, comorbidities, and intra- and postoperative hospital course were collected. Univariate and multivariate linear regressions were used to investigate factors associated with LOS. Results: We identified 38 patients with internal hernia after RYGB. These patients with mean age 44.1 years were majority female (71.1%) and white race (60.5%). Of the 24 patients where the RYGB was done at our institution, the mean RYGB to IH interval was 43 months. Petersen's defect (57.8%) followed by jejuno-jejunal mesenteric defect (31.6%) were the most common locations for IH. Both Petersen's and jejuno-jejunal mesenteric hernias were found in 4 cases (10.5%). Revision of bypass and small bowel resection were required in 13.2% and 5.3% of cases, respectively. The median (interquartile range) length of stay (LOS) was 2 days. On the multivariate analysis, male sex (P =.019), conversion to exploratory laparotomy (P =.005), and resection of small bowel (P <.001) were independent risk factors for increased LOS. Conclusion: The most common location of IH after RYGB is Petersen's defect, followed by jejuno-jejunal mesenteric defect. BackgroundInternal hernias through mesenteric defects are rare, particularly in the context of twin pregnancies, and can lead to severe complications such as bowel obstruction and strangulation. Early diagnosis is critical, yet challenging, due to the overlapping symptoms with other abdominal conditions and the limited use of advanced imaging during pregnancy.Case descriptionWe present a 33-year-old woman with a twin pregnancy at 33 + 2 weeks of gestation who experienced acute bowel obstruction due to an internal hernia through a congenital mesenteric defect. The patient presented with persistent upper abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Given the advanced stage of pregnancy and the associated risks, a cesarean section was performed, followed by surgical exploration. Approximately one meter of strangulated small intestine was resected, and the mesenteric defect was repaired. Both mother and infants recovered uneventfully.ConclusionThis case highlights the importance of considering internal hernia in the differential diagnosis of acute abdominal pain during pregnancy. Prompt surgical intervention is crucial to prevent maternal and fetal morbidity.

Background: Hernia through Winslow's hiatus, known as Blandin’s hernia, a rare but potentially life-threatening condition, represents a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. This case report describes a successful laparoscopic approach to a cecum hernia through the foramen of Winslow in a 63-year-old female. Case Presentation: The patient presented with 24 hours of abdominal pain and nausea. Abdominal CT scan revealed a herniated cecum and terminal ileum compressing the gastric chamber and portal vein, leading to periportal edema. Laparoscopic right colectomy was performed after successful colon content evacuation via the greater gastric curvature to facilitate reduction. This was done to aid in reduction, as there were indications of non-viability in the right colon. The procedure unfolded without complications. The patient developed postoperative abdominal collections requiring percutaneous drainage but recovered well and was discharged within two weeks. Conclusion: This case highlights the value of laparoscopy in managing foramen of Winslow hernias, offering minimally invasive benefits. Early diagnosis through imaging tools like CT is crucial for prompt surgical intervention and preventing complications like intestinal ischemia or perforation.

A 57-year-old lady presented with symptoms of intestinal obstruction preceded by a 2-day history of lower abdomen pain. Clinically, she had a distended abdomen with tenderness in her lower abdomen. Laboratory investigations were unremarkable. An abdominal radiograph showed a dilated small bowel with no extensive bowel gas. A computed tomography (CT) scan showed suspected intestinal obstruction secondary to herniation into the right broad ligament. The decision was made to proceed with surgery, and the intraoperative results confirmed the CT results. The literature review is outlined here, and this instance illustrates a surprising discovery.

Small bowel internal hernias (IHs), a rare cause of small bowel occlusion (SBO) and small bowel strangulation, while more commonly seen in young adults, can also affect elderly patients and pose a significant diagnostic challenge due to their nonspecific symptoms. In most cases, laparotomy was used to diagnose IHs. However, multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is usually the best imaging tool to use in the emergency setting for the diagnosis of IHs. An 83-year-old man was admitted to emergency with acute abdominal pain and a coffee-ground vomitus. The abdominal MDCT showed a clustered-like appearance of proximal jejunal loops at the level of the Treitz ligament with the absence of transit of the medium water-soluble iodine oral contrast agent (Gastrografin). Mesenteric edema was also present with initial suffering of the intestinal wall. A left paraduodenal hernia (LPDH) with strangulation was suspected following the radiological report. The emergency laparotomy revealed about 20 cm of proximal jejunal loops herniated through a 3 cm wide hernia orifice (HO) along the Treitz ligament, at the level of Landzert fossa, located in the confluence of the descending mesocolon, posterior to the inferior mesenteric vein (IMV) and confirming the LPDH. The patient was discharged in good condition some days later. IHs do not have sufficient coverage in literature, especially in cases regarding elderly patients, however, they can be a cause of SBO in people older than 80 years of age. Radiologists and surgeons should be aware of the anatomical aspects of the IHs.

Bariatric surgery plays an important role in weight management in current medical practice. Bypass procedures involve alternating the anatomic structure of alimentary tract to achieve malabsorption, which in turn leads to weight loss. Despite its low incidence, internal hernia can occur when an iatrogenic mesenteric defect is created during bariatric surgery. We herein report a video case of laparoscopic management of a complicated internal hernia after proximal jejunal bypass surgery. The patient was a 23-year-old woman who had undergone her first bariatric surgery of laparoscopic proximal jejunal bypass with gastric clipping 5 years earlier and revisional sleeve gastrectomy (SG) for weight regain 10 months prior to this admission. She presented to our emergency department with a complaint of intermittent cramping abdominal pain for the last 2 weeks. Physical examination revealed diffuse tenderness with mild muscle guarding. Computed tomography revealed a swollen and dilated segment of small bowel and some ascites in the pelvic region. Diagnostic laparoscopy was performed after confirming that a segment of the jejunum, adjacent to the previous jejuno-jejunal anastomosis (JJA), had herniated into the mesojejunal region. Subsequently, laparoscopic reduction of the twisted jejunum and resection of the ischemic segment of the biliopancreatic limb were performed. Redo JJA was performed and the mesenteric defect was closed with a running barbed suture. The postoperative course was uneventful, and the patient was discharged 8 days after surgery. Internal hernia through a defect in the broad ligament of the uterus is a very rare condition. We review a case of a 55-years-old female with small bowel obstruction due to herniation of a small bowel loop through a defect in the broad ligament of the uterus on the right side. Computed tomography of the abdomen reported finding of small bowel obstruction, a small bowel loop seen between the uterus and urinary bladder in the right lower pelvis with surrounding inflammatory changes, possibility of an Internal hernia through a defect in the broad ligament. An 8-month-old castrated male British Shorthair cat presented with acute anorexia and vomiting. The overall clinical presentation included generalized depression. Physical examination revealed palpable abdominal mass, thus foreign body or intussusception was suspected. Abdominal radiographs showed segmental dilation of small intestine and ultrasonography revealed target lesion with dilated small bowel loops and disrupted normal wall layering, suggestive of intussusception. Exploratory laparotomy confirmed congenital mesenteric defects associated with small intestinal obstruction. Surgical intervention involved dissection, ligation of encircling blood vessels, and closure of mesenteric defects. The cat was discharged after 3 days, exhibiting normal postoperative recovery. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of congenital mesenteric defect associated with small intestinal obstruction in a cat. While internal hernias are rare, it is essential to include them in the differential diagnosis for cases of intestinal obstruction, particularly in patients with no history of previous surgery or trauma. The potential for strangulation and ischemia in the affected loops elevates internal hernias to a critical, lifethreatening condition, emphasizing the need for prompt recognition and urgent surgical intervention as an emergency. Cecal bascule, a rare subtype of cecal volvulus, presents diagnostic and management challenges. We report a case of cecal bascule presenting as an internal hernia in a 68-year-old male with no surgical history. Computed tomography revealed two areas of mesenteric swirling and a displaced cecum. Prompt surgical intervention included laparoscopic exploration, resection of a necrotic adhesive band, and cecopexy. This case is noteworthy because of the absence of predisposing factors like prior surgeries or inflammatory conditions. Management options for cecal bascule include resection and cecopexy, tailored to individual patient factors. Awareness among healthcare providers is crucial for the timely recognition and appropriate management of such cases. Objective: Rare disease. Background: Meckel's diverticulum is a congenital remnant of the omphalomesenteric duct and is the most common congenital gastrointestinal malformation. Most patients are asymptomatic, but a rare presentation is with subacute small bowel obstruction (SBO) due to herniation of bowel loops through an internal hernia formed by the Meckel's diverticulum and adjacent mesentery that forms an internal hernia. This report is of a 15-year-old girl presenting as an emergency with vomiting and small bowel obstruction due to an internal hernia associated with Meckel's diverticulum. Case Report: We present a case of a 15-year-old girl who presented to the Children's Emergency (CE) department with persistent vomiting and abdominal distension and tenderness. X-rays demonstrated dilated small bowel loops, prompting admission under Pediatric Surgery (PAS). A subsequent computed tomography (CT) scan was performed, which demonstrated multiple dilated small bowel loops, confirming SBO, and a blind-ending "C-shaped" bowel loop at the region of the terminal ileum. A diagnostic laparotomy was performed, which confirmed the presence of a Meckel's diverticulum. The tip of the Meckel's diverticulum was adherent to part of the small bowel mesentery, forming an internal hernia defect through which a loop of proximal ileum had herniated, resulting in SBO. She then underwent a laparoscopy-assisted transumbilical Meckel's diverticulectomy (LATUM). The patient recovered uneventfully and was discharged on the 4th postoperative day. Conclusions: In children presenting with SBO, the possibility of Meckel's diverticulum as an etiology should be considered as a differential diagnosis. Obesity is an emerging worldwide health care issue. It has a direct and indirect bearing on health-related outcomes. Rates of overweight and obesity have grown manifold in the past few decades globally. Once considered a problem of the affluent societies only, obesity is now dramatically on the rise in low- and middle-income countries also. Single anastomosis gastric bypass (SAGB) is one of the combined bariatric procedures adopted for weight loss in patients failing maximal medical therapy. Internal hernia (IH) after SAGB is a less recognized clinical entity. We hereby report our experience with four such cases under light of current available literature. Bariatric procedures are associated with some short- and long-term limitations. IHs are among one of the dreaded complications associated with some bariatric procedures with rates reaching up to 16% after classic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. The incidence of IH post-SAGB is comparatively rare and is very less frequently reported. Symptoms of IH post-SAGB are quite nonspecific and depend on the time and extent of herniation. The symptoms can vary from benign intermittent colicky pain to severe intra-abdominal pain presenting as a surgical emergency. Routine physical examination and biochemical investigations are nonspecific and unreliable in evaluating those patients. Computed tomography (CT) with intravenous and oral contrast is the most common imaging modality used for preoperative evaluation of those symptoms. The CT findings can be unremarkable in patients having intermittent symptoms/herniation. Diagnostic laparoscopy is the cornerstone for diagnosis and management of patients having high suspicion of IH.

Abstract Background Considering that right paraduodenal hernia is a rare internal hernia with abnormal anatomy and is often encountered during an emergency, surgeons may lack knowledge about it and choose incorrect treatment. Thus, this case report is a helpful complement to the few previously reported cases of right paraduodenal hernia. Additionally, we reviewed all the reported right paraduodenal hernia cases and proposed appropriate surgical strategies according to different anatomical features. Case presentation The case involved a 33-year-old Chinese male patient who was admitted to the hospital due to abdominal pain. The patient was initially diagnosed with small bowel obstruction, and conservative treatment failed. An emergency operation was arranged, during which a diagnosis of right paraduodenal hernia was made instead. After surgery, the patient recovered well without abdominal pain for 2 years. Conclusion Although right paraduodenal hernia accounts only for a small proportion of paraduodenal hernia, its anatomical characteristics can vary considerably. We divided right paraduodenal hernia into three types, with each type requiring a different surgical strategy.

Abstract Background Internal hernias are relatively rare and difficult to diagnose. Diagnostic delays lead to the progression of strangulation. In particular, pararectal fossa hernias are extremely rare. We encountered a case in which internal hernia occurred in the pararectal fossa. Case presentation An 87-year-old woman was referred to our hospital because of persistent lower abdominal pain and vomiting. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography revealed findings of intestinal ischemia, such as closed loop formation with reduced contrast effect on the left side of the rectum in the pelvis. Strangulation small bowel obstruction was diagnosed, and emergency laparotomy was performed. The small intestine was found to invade the peritoneal reflection on the left side of the rectum. The patient was finally diagnosed with pararectal fossa hernia. The incarcerated small intestine was released with no bowel resection. The 4-cm hernia phylum was observed and closed by simple suture. The patient had a good postoperative course without recurrence. Conclusions We encountered a very rare case of internal hernia in the left pararectal fossa. Preoperative diagnosis of this disease is difficult, but it should nevertheless be considered in cases in which the cause of the intestinal obstruction is unknown.

Spinal cord injuries (SCIs) typically affect young, healthy males, with the cervical spine being the most frequently injured area. These injuries are devastating and have a lifelong impact on a person's health and well-being. While uncommon, SCIs can occur during sports participation, as seen in this case study. This case examines a 47-year-old male skier who sustained a skiing accident and presented with quadriplegia upon arrival at the trauma centre. It highlights the critical role of readily available diagnostic imaging and efficient teamwork within trauma centres in managing such complex injuries.

An internal hernia is defined as the protrusion of an internal organ through a defect in the abdominal cavity. Broad ligament hernia (BLH) is an extremely rare type of internal hernia that is difficult to diagnose preoperatively because the symptoms are nonspecific. However, early diagnosis is crucial, and early surgery is required to reduce complications such as strangulation. Laparoscopy has the advantage of enabling simultaneous diagnosis and treatment of BLH. With the advancement of the laparoscopic techniques, several cases of laparoscopic treatment of BLH have been reported. Nevertheless, open surgery is primarily performed in patients requiring bowel resection. We present a case of laparoscopic surgery for a strangulated internal hernia through a broad ligament defect. We successfully resected the strangulated small intestine and closed the defect of the broad ligament laparoscopically with a minor incision.

Introduction: Paraduodenal hernias (PDH) are rare congenital internal hernias with non- specific symptoms. Left-sided paraduodenal hernia is three times more common than right-sided paraduodenal hernia with similar clinical presentation but different embryological origins. Materials and Methods: We report a series of eight cases of paraduodenal hernia who presented with varied clinical presentation ranging from vague abdominal pain to complete intestinal obstruction. Six cases had left-sided paraduodenal hernia, while two cases had right-sided paraduodenal hernia. Results: Seven cases based on their presentation underwent surgery either electively or on emergent basis. Three cases underwent laparoscopic repair. One case had a recurrence and was re-operated four months later. There was no mortality among any of the cases. Conclusion: A pre-operative diagnosis of paraduodenal hernia is essential. Background: Considering that right paraduodenal hernia is a rare internal hernia with abnormal anatomy and is often encountered during an emergency, surgeons may lack knowledge about it and choose incorrect treatment. Thus, this case report is a helpful complement to the few previously reported cases of right paraduodenal hernia. Additionally, we reviewed all the reported right paraduodenal hernia cases and proposed appropriate surgical strategies according to different anatomical features. Case presentation: The case involved a 33-year-old Chinese male patient who was admitted to the hospital due to abdominal pain. The patient was initially diagnosed with small bowel obstruction, and conservative treatment failed. An emergency operation was arranged, during which a diagnosis of right paraduodenal hernia was made instead. After surgery, the patient recovered well without abdominal pain for 2 years. Conclusion: Although right paraduodenal hernia accounts only for a small proportion of paraduodenal hernia, its anatomical characteristics can vary considerably.
