This review article comprehensively examines recent advances in the synthesis, characterization, and applications of nitride and sulfide phosphors. This article addresses various phosphor crystal structures, including perovskite, garnet, nitride sulfide, fabrications strategies, and their impact on the optical and electronic properties. Furthermore, the review highlights the role of doping and activator ions in tailoring the emission characteristics of nitride and sulfide phosphors, enabling precise control over color rendering and efficiency. Additionally, the article also discusses emerging trends in phosphor technology, such as the development of novel synthesis methods and the integration of phosphors into next-generation lighting and display devices. The basic properties of phosphor materials like CRI, CIE chromaticity coordinates, quantum efficiencies are well discussed. A practical, mild, and high-yielding synthetic approach for the synthesis of unknown tetrahydropyrimidinyl substituted 3-coumarins as hybrid scaffolds, potentially useful new chemical entities (NCEs), via metal- and catalyst-free multicomponent cyclization is described. The enhanced nucleophilicity of 3-amino coumarins versus 4-amino coumarin is explained via the difference in13C NMRδvalues (Δδ) of vinylic carbons. Herein we report a tandem cyclization protocol towards hitherto unprepared hybrid scaffolds of coumarin and imidazole core. The synthetic methodology initiates with linking of aromatic amines with coumarin at 4-position, followed by tandem cyclization with the help of nitromethane leading to the synthesis of title compounds in high to excellent yields (80-97%). AbstractA new series of triazole acetamide linked with phenyl piperazine derivatives 8a–r were synthesized by click chemistry approach and evaluated the anti-cancer activity against breast cancer. Most of the compounds were found active against breast cancer cell line MCF-7 (8.93 ± 3.08 to 65.06 ± 0.90% inhibition at 20 µM). Compound 8h was found to be the most active compound (IC50 value: 18.62 ± 1.41 µM) followed by the compound 8g (IC50 value: 50.19 ± 2.28 µM) and the morphology of cells treated with these compounds became smaller, lost their typical shape, and ability to adhere to the culture plate. It has been also observed that compound 8h exhibited a better therapeutic response than doxorubicin at ≥20 µM concentration. The study was also accessed with human normal kidney cell line HEK-293. Compounds 8h and 8g also showed better binding potentials toward the active site of hERα-LBD (ΔG: −9 and −8.6 kcal/mol, respectively) proteins than their native ligand (ΔG: −8.4 kcal/mol). Furthermore, molecular dynamics simulation parameters confirm the complex stability of compound 8h with the protein hERα-LBD. Hence, compound 8h possesses better anticancer properties among all the synthesized compounds which could be further evaluated by in-vitro and in-vivo studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Capitalizing on the unique advantages of magnetic recovery, these catalysts streamline the synthesis process, offering an innovative solution that marries efficiency with environmental sustainability. By facilitating the multicomponent reaction of key precursors in the presence of sulfur sources, the catalysts enable the straightforward synthesis of various valuable organosulfur compounds, crucial in numerous pharmaceutical, agricultural, and material science applications. Key findings demonstrate a significant enhancement in reaction yields and selectivity and the remarkable ease with which the catalysts can be recovered and reused, thereby reducing both waste and operational costs. Magnetic catalysts, often based on magnetic iron nanoparticles, facilitate rapid and efficient reactions under mild conditions, offering superior atom economy, reduced solvent use, and the potential for scalable processes. Additionally, magnetically separating the catalysts from the reaction mixture enables multiple recycling cycles, reducing waste and operational costs. The review also discusses the mechanistic insights, challenges, and recent advancements in this field alongside future directions for developing more robust and versatile magnetic catalytic systems. This research embodies a significant step forward in the field of catalysis, highlighting the potential of magnetically recoverable catalysts to revolutionize the synthesis of complex molecules. Benzo-fused γ-lactams are fundamental in medicinal chemistry, acting as essential elements for various therapeutic agents due to their structural adaptability and capability to enhance biological activity. In their synthesis, transition metals play a pivotal role as catalysts, offering more efficient alternatives to traditional methods by facilitating C-N bond formation through mechanisms like intramolecular coupling. Recent advances have especially spotlighted transition-metal-catalyzed C-H amination reactions for directly converting C(sp 2 )-H to C(sp 2 )-N bonds, streamlining the creation of these compounds. Furthermore, biocatalytic approaches have emerged, providing asymmetric synthesis of lactams with high yield and enantioselectivity. This review examined the transition metal-catalyzed synthesis techniques for producing benzo-fused γ-lactams, marking a significant leap in organic synthesis by proposing more effective, selective, and greener production methods. Designing hybrid molecules with dual functions is one approach to improve the therapeutic efficacy of combination treatment. We have previously conjugated phthalazine and bis(hydroxymethyl)pyrrole pharmacophores to form hybrids bearing antiangiogenesis and DNA interstrand cross-linking activities. To improve the bioavailability, we adopted a benzology approach to design and synthesize a new series of 1,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)benzo[ g ]pyrrolo[2,1- a ]phthalazines. These new hybrids retained the dual functions and could be formulated into vehicles for intravenous and oral administration. Among them, we demonstrated that compound 19a with dimethylamine at the C6 position markedly suppressed the tumor growth of human small cell lung cancer cell line H526, squamous lung cancer cell line H520, and renal cancer cell line 786-O in nude mice, implying that compound 19a is a broad-spectrum anticancer agent. Our results implicated that the conjugation of antiangiogenic and DNA cross-linking is likely to be a helpful approach to improving the efficacy of combination therapy.
