The substitution of noble metal platinum catalyst is one of the important research contents for sustainable development and is also the key to the practical application of photoelectrochemical (PEC) hydrogen production. In this work, we loaded the 1T-2H mixed phase MoS2 on the hydrogenated anatase/rutile heterophase TiO2 (A-H-RTNA) by hydrothermal method to prepare a new MoS2/A-H-RTNA electrode material. The prepared material exhibited higher carrier density, lower PL intensity and higher conductivity than Pt/A-H-RTNA because 1T-MoS2 has more active sites and lower charge transfer resistance than Pt. With the bias voltage of −0.4 V, the optimized 16MoS2/A-H-RTNA as photocathode shows the largest PEC hydrogen production rate of 1840 mmol m−2 h−1, which is 2.9 and 2.2 times higher than those of A-H-RTNA (625 mmol m−2 h−1) and Pt/A-H-RTNA (848 mmol m−2 h−1), respectively. We innovatively used the prepared 16MoS2/A-H-RTNA film as counter electrode instead of Pt electrode to construct a PEC system without any noble-metal. The result demonstrates that the noble-metal-free MoS2 loaded on TiO2 electrode as counter electrode has 75% PEC activity of noble metal Pt electrode. This study develops a PEC method for hydrogen evolution, which no longer depends on precious metal platinum as cathode.

Background N-of-1 trial is a desired and appropriate approach to assessing the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) interventions. There have been an increasing number of N-of-1 trials for TCM published. However, a lack of preferred reporting guidance led in the general poor reporting quality of these trials. Due to the unique characteristics of TCM, the working group developed this CONSORT Extension for reporting N-of-1 Trials for Traditional Chinese Medicine (CENT for TCM) to assist TCM researchers in reporting N-of-1 trials for TCM. Methods We registered CENT for TCM at the EQUATOR (Enhancing the QUAlity and Transparency Of health Research) Network (available at equator-network.org). The development was a comprehensive process through collection of the initial reporting items, two-round scientific Delphi consensus survey with 17 panelists, revision and formation of the final reporting checklist. Results The checklist includes 25 items within six domains, eight items in which were extended and elaborated on the items of the CENT 2015 checklist. Explanation of the items were listed adequately considering the nature of TCM, introducing the concept of TCM syndrome differentiation and TCM interventions. Conclusions CENT for TCM can be used to assess the completeness of the reporting of N-of-1 trials for TCM. The working group expect that CENT for TCM could be a practical tool to enhance the comprehensiveness and transparency of the design, implementation and reporting of N-of-1 trials for TCM.

Understanding the chemical states and electronic states of superconducting materials can help researchers to grasp their superconducting mechanisms. Then, through doping, high pressure or other methods, the T c (Critical Temperature) can be boosted. Recently, a new layered carbide superconductor ThMo2Si2C was discovered. Its chemical states and electronic states are unknown. Here, the chemical states of ThMo2Si2C are investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy assisted with argon ion sputtering and Raman spectroscopy. The physical significance behind them is elucidated. Its electronic states are investigated by first-principles calculations. It is found that the major contribution to the total DOS (Density of States) is from Mo 4d state, which plays the dominant role in the superconductivity of ThMo2Si2C. The hybridization between Th 6d and Mo 4d is very weak. Thus, a separation of the structure into independent Mo-C-Si and Th subunits (layers) is justified from the point of view of electronic structure. A flat band along the A-M high-symmetry direction is observed near the Fermi level. The influence of the interlayer distance between Mo-C-Si units (layers) on the DOS and band structure is investigated by first-principles calculations too.

We systematically studied the magneto-resistance of strontium (Sr) doped topological insulator (TI) Bi[Formula: see text]Se[Formula: see text] films. For Bi[Formula: see text]Se[Formula: see text] films with relatively large classic magneto-resistance, we found that slightly Sr doping can completely suppress the classic magneto-resistance and make the weak antilocalization effect dominate in the weak-magnetic-field region. Consequently, the value of the magneto-resistance is enhanced by more than 2.7 times at 0.2 T in slightly doped samples. In contrast, in the strong-magnetic-field region, the magneto-resistance is strongly reduced by doping but exhibits linear magneto-resistance behavior. Our results suggest that the linear magneto-resistance behavior originates from the mobility fluctuation induced by disorder described by the Parish–Littlewood model. Our findings not only gain insights into the doping effect on the topological insulator but also provide an effective way to manipulate the magneto-transport properties of TI for potential applications in future.

By combining angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy, atomic force microscope based piezoresponse force microscopy and first-principles calculations, we have studied the low-energy band structure, atomic structure, and charge polarization on the surface of a topological semimetal candidate TaNiTe_{5}. Dirac-like surface states were observed on the (010) surface by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, consistent with the first-principles calculations. On the other hand, piezoresponse force microscopy reveals a switchable ferroelectriclike polarization on the same surface. We propose that the noncentrosymmetric surface relaxation observed by scanning tunneling microscopy could be the origin of the observed ferroelectriclike state in this novel material. Our findings provide a new platform with the coexistence of a ferroelectriclike surface charge distribution and novel surface states.

Background Integrative medicine is commonly used in China. Researchers prefer to report efficacy outcomes rather than safety outcomes in clinical trials; thus, evidence regarding safety in integrative medicine is unclear. Developing a core outcome set (COS) for safety outcomes is necessary. In this study, a representative example of the methodology for developing COS to assess safety outcomes of cardiovascular diseases in clinical trials investigating integrated medicine will be developed. Methods and analysis Safety information will be extracted from package inserts and through systematic reviews of treatments for cardiovascular diseases (including angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, heart failure, arrhythmia, and hypertension) to develop an extensive list of safety outcomes, which will then be categorized according to whether subjective or objective outcomes. Questionnaires for clinician-reported safety outcomes and patient-reported safety outcomes will be developed. Two rounds of the Delphi survey will then be conducted for different stakeholders (traditional Chinese medicine clinicians and researchers in cardiovascular diseases, Western medicine clinicians and researchers in cardiovascular diseases, integrated medicine clinicians and researchers of cardiovascular diseases, pharmacologists, methodologists of evidence-based medicine, and patients). After round 2 of the Delphi analysis, a face-to-face consensus meeting will be held to determine the final COS for assessing safety outcomes in cardiovascular diseases. Discussion A COS for safety outcomes in cardiovascular diseases may improve the consistency of reporting results and will help identify potential bias of selective reporting in the future. Trial registration This study was registered in the Core Outcome Measures in Effectiveness Trials database as study 1564.

Aims: To identify a minimum set of efficacy and adverse events for patients with acute heart failure (AHF) among different stakeholders in clinical trials of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine.Methods and Analysis: First, we will develop a preliminary long list of outcomes that includes efficacy and adverse events/reactions via three steps: (i) systematic reviews of efficacy and safety outcomes for clinical trials of AHF; (ii) drugs included in the National Medical Insurance Catalog, the National Essential Medicines Catalog, and the WHO Essential Medicines List will be collected and safety outcomes extracted from the package inserts; and (iii) patients' or caregivers' semi-structured interviews will be carried out to add new viewpoints to the list. Second, after merging outcomes and grouping them under different outcome domains, questionnaires for health professionals and patients will be separately developed. Further, two rounds of Delphi survey for health professionals and a survey for patients and the public will be carried out. Third, different stakeholders will discuss and determine the final core outcome set (COS) for AHF in a consensus meeting.Ethics and Dissemination: The entire project has been approved by the Ethics Committee of the main institution. After the final COS is developed, it will be published and discussed widely in conferences.Clinical Trial Registration: This study is registered with the Core Outcome Measures in Effectiveness Trials database as study 1566 (available at: https://www.cometinitiative.org/Studies/Details/1566).

Clinical trial outcome reporting differs between studies integrating traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine, so that some clinical trials are not eligible for inclusion in a systematic review. The excluded studies are therefore less widely disseminated, and even valid studies are less likely to yield impact. This problem may be addressed by developing core outcome sets (COSs) for integrative medicine in specific healthcare areas. The first stage of development is to define the scope of the COS for integrative medicine, the second stage is to establish the need for such a COS, and the third stage is to develop a protocol and register the COS. The final stage involves three steps: (i) development of a comprehensive list of outcomes (including efficacy outcomes and safety outcomes and TCM syndromes) using systematic review, qualitative or cross-sectional research, and reviews of package inserts and medical records; (ii) merging and grouping of outcomes within domains; (iii) conducting two rounds of Delphi survey and consensus meetings with a range of stakeholders. The final COS will include a general COS and core TCM syndrome- set. Development of COSs for clinical trials of integrative medicine may help to standardize outcome reporting and reduce publication bias in the future.

To systematic review the effect of Chinese medicine (CM) on no or slow reflow after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in myocardial infarction (MI) patients. The PubMed, EMBASE databases, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese BioMedical Literature Database (CBM), Wanfang Knowledge Service Platform (Wanfang Database) and Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP) were searched up to December 2017. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) which evaluated the effect of CM therapies on no or slow reflow after PCI in MI patients were included. The primary outcome was the effect of reperfusion. Secondary outcomes were left ventricular ejection fraction, incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events and adverse effect. Ten RCTs covering 814 patients were included. Two studies revealed that the incidence of no or slow reflow was less in Shenmai Injection (参麦注射液) group than in the control group measured by thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) ⩽ 2 (risk ratio=0.55, 95% confidence interval 0.38 to 0.81, P=0.003, I2=37%). Two studies indicated that Salvianolate Injection showed no additional benefit on no or slow reflow measured by corrected TIMI frame count compared with the conventional treatment (mean difference −4.24, 95% confidence interval −13.03 to 4.54, P=0.34, I2=86%). In addition, Tongxinluo Capsules (通心络胶囊), Danhong Injection (丹红注射液) and Xuesaitong Injection (血塞通注射液) may have the potential to reduce no or slow reflow measured during or after PCI in individual studies. Current evidence from RCTs are not sufficient to evaluate the effect of CM adjuvant therapies on no or slow reflow after PCI for MI patients. The included studies are limited by small sample size and unclear baseline conditions. Further rigorously designed researches and verification studies with sufficient number of patients are warranted.

Objectives: Evaluating the quality of systematic reviews/meta-analysis of Wenxin granule in treating cardiac arrhythmia to provide evidence for clinical practice, and analyzing the problems in the research to identify potential research priorities for researchers. Method: The systematic reviews of Wenxin granule in treating cardiac arrhythmia were searched from 8 databases. The methodological quality and evidence quality were assessed by AMSTAR and GRADE respectively. Results: Nineteen eligible systematic reviews with 52,905 participants were included. The overall scores of AMSTAR ranged from 3 to 10 with a mean score of 6.5, the median score was 6. There were 9 (9/19, 47.37%) systematic reviews had the score of 7 or more. 6 of them with appropriate information were assessed the quality of evidence by GRADE. The results showed that the overall quality of evidence was limited (range from “very low” to “low”), no “moderate” or “high” quality of evidence existed. For the outcome reporting, no systematic reviews reported endpoints and limited evidence showed that there is causality between Wenxin granule and adverse effects/events. The outcome matrix showed that there are obvious heterogeneity and incompleteness for the outcome reporting in included systematic reviews, so that some included studies cannot be conducted meta-analysis. Meanwhile, there were studies excluded because of inappropriate outcome measures, such as outcome measures did not meet inclusion criteria, treatment time did not meet inclusion criteria, treatment time was unclear, incomplete data or the data cannot be extracted. Conclusions: Wenxin granule have limited efficacy and safety for treating arrhythmia. In the future, high quality of RCTs and systematic reviews should be conducted. Core outcome set for cardiac arrhythmia is needed to improve outcome reporting and decrease waste.

Tree peony has been widely planted as an excellent oil crop with high proportion of α-linolenic acid (ALA) in its seeds. It was reported that pollen sources have clear effects on fatty acid (FA) composition of its kernels. Nevertheless, the molecular basis of this novel phenomenon is poorly understood. In this study, four Paeonia suffruticosa cultivars whose pollen caused significant differences in ALA content of Paeonia rockii were selected as pollen donors and grouped under high and low ALA groups. After pollination, total FAs content, composition and expression profiles of 10 genes involved in the FA and triacylglycerol (TAG) biosynthetic pathways were investigated during seed development. During the rapid oil accumulation in seeds, three desaturase genes (SAD, FAD2, FAD3) showed much higher expression in high ALA group, and their differential expression profiles corresponded well with the variations in ALA content among different pollen sources. Overall, pollen sources could affect the expression level of genes associated with fatty acid modification and subsequently affect the composition of FA in the kernels.

With the overall advancement of UHV AC and DC lines and the gradual development of large cross-regional power grids, the effective grounding of power equipment plays an important role in the safe and stable operation of the power system. Regarding the numerical uncertainty caused by the measurement of grounding grid parameters, this paper proposes a multi-dimensional safety evaluation method for grounding grids based on the gray correlation degree of interval numbers. First, construct an evaluation index system and use the coefficient of variation to determine the index weight, avoiding the subjectivity brought about by expert empowerment. Second, determine the evaluation level and construct an interval number evaluation matrix. Then, the kernel density estimation is used to fit the interval number evaluation value into a probability density distribution. Finally, the final evaluation results are gotten by evaluating the weighted JS divergence between the probability density distribution and the optimal distribution. Through an empirical analysis of a 220kV substation in Zhejiang, the effectiveness of the method is verified.

Lytic replication of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is not only essential for its cell–to–cell spread and host–to–host transmission, but it also contributes to EBV-induced oncogenesis. Thus, blocking EBV lytic replication could be a strategy for managing EBV-associated diseases. Previously, we identified a series of natural lignans isolated from the roots of Saururus chinensis (Asian lizard's tail) that efficiently block EBV lytic replication and virion production with low cytotoxicity. In this study, we attempted to elucidate the molecular mechanism by which these lignans inhibit EBV lytic replication. We found that a representative compound, CSC27 (manassantin B), inhibits EBV lytic replication by suppressing the expression of EBV immediate-early gene BZLF1 via disruption of AP-1 signal transduction. Further analysis revealed that manassantin B specifically blocks the mammalian target of rapamycin complex 2 (mTORC2)-mediated phosphorylation of AKT Ser/Thr protein kinase at Ser-473 and protein kinase Cα (PKCα) at Ser-657. Using phosphoinositide 3-kinase–AKT-specific inhibitors for kinase mapping and shRNA-mediated gene silencing, we validated that manassantin B abrogates EBV lytic replication by inhibiting mTORC2 activity and thereby blocking the mTORC2–PKC/AKT-signaling pathway. These results suggest that mTORC2 may have utility as an antiviral drug target against EBV infections and also reveal that manassantin B has potential therapeutic value for managing cancers that depend on mTORC2 signaling for survival.

Methods: A preliminary list of outcomes was developed after a systematic review of protocols of clinical trials for COVID-19. Then, two rounds of the Delphi survey were conducted. Stakeholders were traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) experts, Western medicine (WM) experts, nurses and the public. Patients with confirmed COVID-19 were also invited to participate in a questionnaire written in understandable language. Then different stakeholders participated a consensus meeting by video conference to vote. Results: Ninety-seven eligible study protocols were identified from 160 clinical trials. Seventy-six outcomes were identified from TCM clinical trials and 126 outcomes were identified from WM clinical trials. Finally, 145 outcomes were included in the first round of the Delphi survey. Then, a COS for clinical trials of TCM and WM was developed. The COS include clinical outcomes (recovery/improvement/progression/death), etiology (SARS-CoV-2 nucleic-acid tests, viral load), inflammatory factor (C-reactive protein), vital signs (temperature, respiration), blood and lymphatic-system parameters (lymphocytes, virus antibody), respiratory outcomes (Pulmonary imaging, blood oxygen saturation, PaO2/FiO2 ratio, arterial blood gas analysis, mechanical ventilation, oxygen intake, pneumonia severity index), clinical efficacy (prevalence of preventing patients with mild-to-moderate disease progressing to severe disease), symptoms (clinical symptom score). Outcomes were recommended according to different types of disease. Outcome measurement instrument/definition were also recommended. Conclusion: Though there are some limitations for the research, such as insufficient patients and the public involvement, the unbalanced stakeholders’ region, the COS for COVID-19 may improve consistency of outcome reporting in clinical trials. ObjectivesTo examine heterogeneity of outcomes in protocols of clinical trials of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and to identify outcomes for prioritization in developing a core outcome set (COS) in this field.DesignThis study is a review.Data sourcesDatabases of ICMJE-accepted clinical trial registry platform were searched on February 14, 2020.Eligibility CriteriaRandomized controlled trials (RCTs) and non-RCTs of COVID-19 were considered. Conditions of patients include common type, severe type or critical type. Interventions include traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine. We excluded trials that for discharged patients, psychological intervention and complications of COVID-19.Data extraction and synthesisThe general information and outcomes, outcome measurement instruments and measurement times were extracted. The results were analysed by descriptive analysis.Results19 registry platforms were searched. A total of 97 protocols were included from 160 protocols. For protocols of TCM clinical trials, 76 outcomes from 16 outcome domains were reported, and almost half (34/76, 44.74%) of outcomes were reported only once; the most frequently reported outcome was time of SARS-CoV-2 RNA turns to negative. 27 (27/76, 35.53%) outcomes were provided one or more outcome measurement instruments. 10 outcomes were provided one or more measurement time frame. For protocols of western medicine clinical trials, 126 outcomes from 17 outcome domains were reported; almost half (62/126, 49.21%) of outcomes were reported only once; the most frequently reported outcome was proportion of patients with negative SARS-CoV-2. 27 outcomes were provided one or more outcome measurement instruments. 40 (40/126, 31.75%) outcomes were provided one or more measurement time frame.ConclusionOutcome reporting in protocols of clinical trials of COVID-19 is inconsistent. Thus, developing a core outcome set is necessary.Strengths and limitations of this study1.This review is the first to describe variation in outcomes, outcome measurement instruments and outcome measurement time reporting in clinical trials for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).2.All the database of ICMJE-accepted clinical trial registry platform were searched, and randomized controlled trials and observational studies were considered.4.The aim of this review was to provide a list of outcomes for clinical trials of COVID-19, both interventions of Traditional Chinese Medicine and western medicine were considered.5.When the searching was conducted, no clinical trials were registered by countries out of China, so all of included protocols were from China.

Background. Non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome has been one of the most serious diseases threatening human health. Long-term cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention is the essential method to control the recurrence and mortality of the disease. Traditional Chinese medicine has proved the efficiency on the treatment of non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome, but there is a lack of appropriate methodological design to reflect the characteristics of individualized diagnosis and treatment of it. Therefore, this study used the evidenced-based Goal Attainment Scale to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine on the treatment of non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome. Method. This is observational research with the prospective feature. A total of 200 patients will be recruited and observed in the three months by telephone or door visit, collecting the individualized intervention of traditional Chinese medicine and evaluating through the method of evidence-based Goal Attainment Scale. Participants will be included according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Any reasons for loss to follow-up and adverse events will be recorded strictly. Discussion. The evidence-based Goal Attainment Scale provides a personalized method of evaluation based on the Goal Attainment Scale and combined with evidence-based medicine, which can better reflect the characteristics and superiority of individualized and dynamic intervention for traditional Chinese medicine on the long-term prevention and treatment of non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome than other methods of design. It is of great significance to explore and promote this method of design in the future.

Aims We aim to assess the effect of a lyophilized herbal injection on 90 day mortality and readmission rates in patients with acute heart failure (AHF). Methods and results The AUGUST‐AHF study is a multicentre, randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled trial enrolling 1270 hospitalized patients for AHF. Patients are randomized to receive YiqiFumai lyophilized injection (5.2 g/day) or placebo for 10 days, in addition to standard therapy, using a 1:1 ratio via an interactive web response system. The primary endpoint is the 90 day all‐cause mortality or AHF readmission rates. Secondary endpoints include 180 day all‐cause mortality or heart failure readmission rates, length of hospital stay for the indexed AHF, 90 day cardiac‐specific mortality rate, occurrence of worsening heart failure through Day 10, changes in the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Quality of Life scale score through Day 180, and 90 day major adverse cardiac events. Additional secondary endpoints include change in dyspnoea via visual analogue scale (VAS) and Likert 7‐point comparator scale, N terminal pro‐B‐type natriuretic peptide value and New York Heart Association functional class, and the total amount of diuretics for the indexed AHF hospitalization. Study recruitment is expected to be completed by March 2021, and follow‐up will end in September 2021. In an optional sub‐study, patients will be followed up for 3 years. Conclusions To our best knowledge, AUGUST‐AHF is the first study assessing the efficacy of a Chinese herbal injection in patients with AHF. The results will be valuable to guide clinicians in using YiqiFumai lyophilized injection, which was included in the latest Chinese Health Insurance Catalog.

Introduction. TCMI with the effect of Liqihuoxue and Yiqihuoxue has been applied as complementary therapies during the perioperative period of PCI for patients with ACS, while the recommended time points and plans of TCMI are still short of the support of evidence-based medicine. Methods. A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of TCMI on patients with ACS during the perioperative period of PCI. RCTs were searched based on standardized searching rules in seven medical databases from the inception up to August 2019. Two reviewers conducted the study selection, data extraction, and quality analysis independently. Data were analysed with the support of software RevMan and Stata. Results. A total of 68 articles with 6,043 patients were enrolled. The result of meta-analysis showed that the TCMI combined with western medicine was superior to the western medicine alone on clinical efficiency (before the PCI, before and after the PCI, or overall, P<0.05), the occurrence of MACE (myocardial infarction and stenocardia: before the PCI, before and after the PCI, or overall, P<0.05; arrhythmia: before and after the PCI, P<0.05), and the level of inflammatory factors (hs-CRP: before the PCI, before and after the PCI, or overall, P<0.05; IL-6: after the PCI, P<0.05). The TCMI with the effect of Liqihuoxue obtained more support compared with Yiqihuoxue based on the result of meta-analysis. Conclusions. TCMI with the effect of Liqihuoxue or Yiqihuoxue combined with western medicine generally showed the potential advantage on the treatment of ACS during the perioperative period of PCI. However, the optimal time point of intervention and recommended plan based on the effect still needs more clinical evidence. We consider that the research of precise and standardized application of TCMI will be a promising direction for TCM in the future.

Few-shot fine-grained image recognition aims to classify fine-grained images with limited training samples. Nowadays exist in a majority of few-shot fine-grained image classification methods the following problems: local information loss and ignoring pivotal parts. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a new embedding module, called GLAE. The author designs a hierarchical structure and combines the first-order and second-order information to reduce the local information loss. Besides, this paper proposes an attention mechanism to obtain the vital parts by the attention mask. On the StanfordCars dataset, GLAE achieves an accuracy of 91.18% which is the best result in the field of few-shot fine-grained image recognition.

In this paper, we propose a 3D object pose estimation method based on the frustum point cloud for industrial picking robot to grab the express. The core of our idea is to segment the point cloud of the object which should to be pick up first, then extract the best grab plane and grab point on the object point cloud. First of all, a mature 2D detection framework Faster RCNN is used to detect the object in RGB images. Then the 2D bounding box and category of the object closest to the camera will be output. On the basis of this, the frustum point cloud data of the detected object is generated by the combination of the depth map and the projection relationship of the RGB-D camera. Then we used PointNet network to extract the feature of each point in the generated frustum point cloud. Finally, the instance segmentation of the point cloud and the subsequent extraction of the best grab plane and grab point are performed. We show results on both real dataset and synthetic dataset which we collected by ourselves, and our 3D instance segmentation network accuracy on real dataset reached 88%.

In the past few years, anatase/rutile TiO2 heterophase junction structures with highly efficient photocatalytic performance have been explored widely, while their activities are still unsatisfactory in solar-to-hydrogen energy conversion. In this study, a novel anatase/rutile TiO2 photoelectrode with hydrogenated heterophase interface structures (A-H-RTNA) was successfully designed and synthesized for the first time via hydrothermal synthesis–hydrogenation–branching growth. Structure characterization indicated that the hydrogenated interfaces between anatase–branches and rutile–TiO2–nanorod hold appropriate oxygen vacancies and Ti3+ and inferred that new energy levels of oxygen vacancy and Ti–OH lie below the band edge positions of conduction band and valence band of rutile TiO2 nanorod, respectively. The matching energy levels between anatase–branches and hydrogenated rutile–nanorod obviously reduce the recombination of the photogenerated carriers, resulting in a superior photoelectrochemical (PEC) perfo...

We used the algebraic manipulations and the properties of Chebyshev polynomials to obtain an interesting identity involving the power sums of the integral of the first-kind Chebyshev polynomials and solved an open problem proposed by Wenpeng Zhang and Tingting Wang.

Using high-resolution angle-resolved and time-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, we have studied the low-energy band structures in occupied and unoccupied states of three ternary compounds GeBi2Te4, SnBi2Te4 and Sn0.571Bi2.286Se4 near the Fermi level. In previously confirmed topological insulator GeBi2Te4 compounds, we confirmed the existence of the Dirac surface state and found that the bulk energy gap is much larger than that in the first-principles calculations. In SnBi2Te4 compounds, the Dirac surface state was observed, consistent with the first-principles calculations, indicating that it is a topological insulator. The experimental detected bulk gap is a little bit larger than that in calculations. In Sn0.571Bi2.286Se4 compounds, our measurements suggest that this nonstoichiometric compound is a topological insulator although the stoichiometric SnBi2Se4 compound was proposed to be topological trivial.

The main purpose of this paper is using the analytic methods and a relation between the two-term cubic exponential sums and general Kloosterman sums to study the computational problem of one kind high-th power mean of general Kloosterman sums for some special non-principal character $$\chi \bmod p$$ , and give four exact computational formulae for them. As applications of these results, we obtained four interesting asymptotic formulae for the 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th power mean of general Kloosterman sums with a special character $$\chi \bmod p$$ .

Two kinds of branched TiO 2 nanorods arrays (TNRs), i.e. rutile nanorod covered with rutile branches (BTNRs) and rutile nanorod covered with anatase branches (ATNRs), were synthesized on FTO films as photoanodes. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) performances of the both photoanodes were comparably evaluated. The PEC hydrogen production rate of ATNRs photoanode is 4.2 and 2.7 times those of the TNRs and BTNRs photoanodes, respectively. The ATNRs showed a highly PEC response because of a lower intrinsic resistance and a heterophase structure between rutile nanorod and anatase branches. The study explicitly ascertains a kind of more effective structure for photoelectrical materials and gives new insight into intrinsic resistance based on PEC analyses.

Purpose The purpose of this paper was to study the corrosion control of B10 copper-nickel alloy using the LiOH-N2H4 compound inhibitors and to evaluate the feasibility of replacing the original inhibitors (NaNO2-Na2MoO4) with the new ones (LiOH-N2H4) for the chilled water system in a nuclear unit. Design/methodology/approach The corrosion resistance performance of B10 copper-nickel alloy was evaluated during the whole replacement process of inhibiters using electrochemical tests and surface analysis techniques. Findings The results indicated that the corrosion of B10 copper-nickel alloy could be prevented effectively using LiOH to increase the pH value of solution higher than 10.0 and using N2H4 to consume dissolved oxygen. During the replacement process of inhibitors from NaNO2-Na2MoO4 to LiOH-N2H4, the corrosion resistance performance of B10 copper-nickel alloy had not decreased greatly. The new LiOH-N2H4 inhibitor, which could enhance the compactness of rust, was able to reduce the corrosion rate of rusted B10 metal. Originality/value It is feasible and operable to replace the NaNO2-Na2MoO4 inhibitors with the LiOH-N2H4 inhibitors for the corrosion prevention of B10 copper-nickel alloy. The research results can provide guidelines for the inhibitor selection of chilled water system in a nuclear unit.

In this paper, wavelet transform profilometry (WTP) method is studied to achieve a train wheel surface 3-D topography reconstruction and defects inspection. A structured light illumination is used to generate periodic fringes, and a CCD camera is used to capture the image of deformed fringes caused by a 3-D topography. The Complex Morlet wavelet is used to transform the deformed fringes image. By extracting the maximum value of wavelet transform ridge, distribution of wrapped phase caused by cliffy surface variation is obtained. A reliability algorithm is used for phase unwrapping. Simulation is done to manifest the feasibility of the method, and the maximal deviation of a 3-D reconstructed surface is 0.15 mm, so comparing with traditional 3-D reconstruction method, this method achieves a higher accuracy. Validation test on a train wheel shows that this method performs a precise 3-D reconstruction of large dimension object such as wheel surface, while small dimension object such as surface defects is also fine recognized simultaneously. Comparing with light section method, this method achieves a faster 3-D reconstruction.

The phytochemical investigation on the acetone extract of Euphorbia milii afforded thirteen new ent-rosane diterpenoids (1–13) through bioassay guided fractionation for evaluating its effect on Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) DNA lytic replication. Structures were determined by comprehensive spectroscopic analyses including 1D & 2D NMR techniques, chemical methods, and experimental and calculated electronic circular dichroism (ECD) data. The absolute configuration of euphominoid A (1) was established by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis of its p-bromobenzoate derivative 1a. Compounds 1–3, and 10 displayed inhibitory activity with EC50 values ranging from 5.4 to 29.1 μM and selective index (SI) values varied from 4.5 to 9.3. Compound 2 showed the most potent inhibitory activity with an EC50 value of 5.4 μM comparing with the positive control (+)-rutamarin (EC50 = 5.4 μM). This is the first report of ent-rosane-type diterpenoids exhibiting significant inhibition of EBV lytic replication.

Tree peony (Paeonia section Moutan DC.) species are woody oil crops with high unsaturated fatty acid content, including &alpha, linolenic acid (ALA/18:3, &gt, 40% of the total fatty acid). Comparative transcriptome analyses were carried out to uncover the underlying mechanisms responsible for high and low ALA content in the developing seeds of P. rockii and P. lutea, respectively. Expression analysis of acyl lipid metabolism genes revealed upregulation of select genes involved in plastidial fatty acid synthesis, acyl editing, desaturation, and triacylglycerol assembly in seeds of P. rockii relative to P. lutea. Also, in association with ALA content in seeds, transcript levels for fatty acid desaturases (SAD, FAD2, and FAD3), which encode enzymes necessary for polyunsaturated fatty acid synthesis, were higher in P. rockii compared to P. lutea. Furthermore, the overexpression of PrFAD2 and PrFAD3 in Arabidopsis increased linoleic and ALA content, respectively, and modulated the final ratio 18:2/18:3 in the seed oil. In conclusion, we identified the key steps and validated the necessary desaturases that contribute to efficient ALA synthesis in a woody oil crop. Together, these results will aid to increase essential fatty acid content in seeds of tree peonies and other crops of agronomic interest.

A novel membrane-free electrodeionization (MFEDI) process has been proposed and tested successfully for high purity water production in our previous work. However, to prevent the ions backward migration, the electrode polarity had to be reversed during regeneration, which complicated the regeneration process, reduced the regeneration efficiency and shortened the electrode life. In order to avoid the electrode polarity reversal and enhance the regeneration efficiency, the resin layer structure and the types of mixed resins were changed in this work to form a MFEDI without electrode polarity reversal which was then tested by desalinating the synthetic two-pass RO permeate of seawater with a total of 40 operational cycles. Results demonstrated that the backward migration of Na + ions was prevented effectively; the weak-type resins facilitated the water dissociation and promoted the regeneration of strong-type resins significantly. Both good purification and effective regeneration were achieved. The conductivity of effluent was 0.060–0.063 μS/cm only. The energy consumption and the water recovery were 0.24 kW h/m 3 water and 96.1%, respectively. Repetitive experimental results showed this MFEDI system could work stably.

Electrodeionization (EDI) is widely used for removal and recovery of nickel from dilute wastewater due to its high efficiency and easy operation. However, the use of membranes in EDI causes problems such as membrane fouling, scaling and concentration polarization. In this work, the treatability of nickel containing wastewater by membrane-free electrodeionization (MFEDI) was experimentally investigated. The study concentrated on the effect of different resin bed configurations in MFEDI system in term of nickel removal, precipitation generation and water recovery, as well as energy consumption. The experiment results show that excellent purification and effective regeneration were achieved by MFEDI with a layered mixed bed. It was observed that, in the purification stage, with an inlet conductivity of 42.5 μS/cm and a nickel concentration of 10.0 mg/L, the effluent conductivity was 0.3–1.0 μS/cm and the nickel concentration of the effluent was below the detection limit; in the regeneration stage, the average nickel concentration of the concentrate was over 80.0 mg/L, the average pH of the concentrate was 7.4, thereby precipitation was prevented. The energy consumption and water recovery rate were 5.6 kWh/m 3 and 88%, respectively.

IntroductionMyocardial infarction (MI) is the most dangerous complication in patients with coronary heart disease. In China, there is an increasing number of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for treating MI. However, the inconsistency of outcome reporting means that a large number of clinical trials cannot be included in systematic reviews to provide the best evidence for clinical practice. The aim of this study is to develop a core outcome set (COS) for future TCM clinical trials of MI, which may improve the consistency of outcome reporting and facilitate the synthesis of data across studies in systematic reviews.Methods and analysisWe will conduct a systematic review of MI clinical trials with any intervention. Semistructured interviews will be conducted to obtain the perspectives of patients with MI. The outcomes from the systematic review and semistructured interviews will be grouped and used to develop a questionnaire. The questionnaire will be developed as a supplement for the TCM syndromes of MI and will be constructed from the results of a systematic review, existing medical records and a cross-sectional study. Then two rounds of the Delphi survey will be conducted with different stakeholders (TCM experts and Western medicine experts in cardiovascular disease, methodologists, magazine editors and patients) to determine the importance of the outcomes. Only the TCM experts will need to response to the questionnaire for core TCM syndromes. A face-to-face consensus meeting will be conducted to create a final COS and recommend measurement time for each outcome.Ethics and disseminationThis project has been approved by the Ethics Committee of Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Background: Chinese patent medicine Tongxinluo capsule (TXL) is commonly used for cardio-cerebrovascular diseases. Previous research had demonstrated that TXL exhibited great clinical effects on the treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI), however there is a lack of systematic review. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the potential effectiveness and safety of TXL for secondary prevention in patients with AMI. Method: We searched 6 databases to identify relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from inceptions to December 30, 2017. Two review authors independently assessed the methodological quality and analyzed data by the RevMan 5.3 software. The publication bias was assessed through funnel plot and Begg's test. The Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach was used for evaluating the quality of evidence. Results: We included 19 RCTs in this review and performed a meta-analysis based on 16 studies. There were statistical differences of TXL treatment group in reducing primary cardiovascular events (cardiac death [RR = 0.27, 95%CI: 0.08~0.95, I2 = 0%], recurrent myocardial reinfarction [RR = 0.38, 95%CI: 0.20~0.74, I2 = 0%], arrhythmia [RR = 0.44, 95%CI: 0.30~0.66, I2 = 0%], recurrent angina pectoris [RR = 0.34, 95%CI: 0.17~0.69, I2 = 0%]). TXL could improve cardiac function (LVEF [MD = 4.10, 95%CI: 3.95~4.25, I2 = 0%]), regulate blood lipid TC [MD = −0.66, 95%CI: −0.94 ~ −0.37, I2 = 74%], TG [MD = −0.38, 95%CI: −0.62 ~ −0.14, I2 = 70%], LDL-C[−0.40, 95%CI: −0.65 ~ −0.16, I2 = 88%), decrease the level of hs-CRP (4-week: MD = −0.78, 95%CI: −0.97 ~ −0.60, I2 = 20%; Over 4-week: MD = −1.36, 95%CI: −1.55 ~ −1.17, I2 = 20%). However, TXL has little effects on revascularization [RR = 0.45, 95%CI: 0.13~1.56, I2 = 0%], recurrent heart failure (RR = 0.83, 95%CI: 0.27~2.57, I2 = 0%), and HDL-C (MD = 0.14, 95%CI: 0.00 ~0.29, I2 = 73%). Furthermore, TXL treatment group was more prone to suffer gastrointestinal discomfort. Conclusion: Chinese patent medicine TXL seemed beneficial for secondary prevention after AMI. This potential benefit needs to be further assessed through more rigorous RCTs. Systematic review registration number in the PROSPERO register: CRD42017068417.

The inverse problem of electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is seriously ill-posed, which restricts the clinical application of EIT. Regularization is an important numerical method to improve the stability of the EIT inverse problem as well as the resolution of the imaging. This paper proposes a self-diagnosis regularization method based on Tikhonov regularization and diagonal weight regularization method (DWRM). Firstly, the ill-posedness of the inverse problem is analyzed by sensitivity. Then, the performance of the self-diagnosis regularization is analyzed through the singular value theory. Finally, some simulated experiments including simulations and flume experiment are carried out and verify that the self-diagnosis regularization has better image quality and anti-noise ability than those of traditional regularization methods. The self-diagnosis regularization method weakens the ill-posedness of inverse problem of EIT and can prompt the practical application of EIT.电阻抗成像逆问题具有严重的病态性，制约着电阻抗成像的临床应用。正则化是提高电阻抗成像逆问题求解稳定性和图像分辨率的重要数值手段。本文基于吉洪诺夫正则化和对角权重正则化（DWRM），提出了一种自诊断正则化方法。首先基于灵敏度分析电阻抗成像逆问题的病态性，其次运用奇异值理论对自诊断正则化方法进行分析，最后运用几种不同正则化方法进行了电阻抗成像仿真实验和水槽模拟实验。实验结果表明，本文提出的自诊断正则化方法较传统的正则化方法提高了电阻抗成像的图像质量和抗噪声能力，其改进算法有效降低了电阻抗成像的逆问题病态性，有利于推动电阻抗成像的实际运用。.
