Computational analysis of radiative heat and mass transfer of nanofluid over a slendering stretching sheet in porous medium with uneven heat source and slip effects have been carried out in this article. The transformed equations a of the flow model are solved by the Runge-Kutta scheme coupled with shooting method to depict the dimensionless velocity, temperature, and concentration at the boundary layer. Numerical computations are carried out and discussed for skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number. We found an excellent agreement of the present results with the existed results under some special conditions. It is also found that the heat transfer performance is high in the presence of velocity slip effect. Dimensionless skin-friction coefficient has decreased for increasing magnetic field, power law-index with velocity slip and wall thickness.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to address the combined effects of thermal radiation and chemical reaction on steady MHD mixed convective heat and mass transfer flow past a vertical surface under the influence of Joule and viscous dissipation. Design/methodology/approach The governing system of partial differential equations is transformed to dimensionless equations using dimensionless variables. The dimensionless equations are then solved analytically using perturbation technique. Findings With the help of graphs, the effects of the various important parameters entering into the problem on the dimensionless velocity, dimensionless temperature and dimensionless concentration fields within the boundary layer are discussed. The authors noticed that the velocity increases with an increase in the porosity parameter. An increase in the Prandtl number Pr, decreases the velocity and the temperature field. An increase in the radiation parameter, decreases the velocity and the temperature field. Also the effects of the pertinent parameters on the skin-friction coefficient and rates of heat and mass transfer in terms of the Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are presented numerically in tabular form. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, recent this work has not been finished by any other researchers.

Genetic improvement of rice for grain micronutrients, viz., iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) content is one of the important breeding objectives, in addition to yield improvement under the irrigated and aerobic ecosystems. In view of developing genetic resources for aerobic conditions, line (L) × tester (T) analysis was conducted with four restorers, four CMS lines and 16 hybrids. Both hybrids and parental lines were evaluated in irrigated and aerobic field conditions for grain yield, grain Fe and Zn content. General Combining Ability (GCA) effects of parents and Specific Combining Ability (SCA) effects of hybrids were observed to be contrasting for the micronutrient content in both the growing environments. The grain Fe and Zn content for parental lines were negatively correlated with grain yield in both the contrasting growing conditions. However, hybrids exhibited positive correlation for grain Fe and Zn with grain yield under limited water conditions. The magnitude of SCA mean squares was much higher than GCA mean squares implying preponderance of dominance gene action and also role of complementary non-allelic gene(s) interaction of parents and suitability of hybrids to the aerobic system. The testers HHZ12-SAL8-Y1-SAL1 (T1) and HHZ17-Y16-Y3-Y2 (T2) were identified as good combiners for grain Zn content under irrigated and aerobic conditions respectively.

Nowadays with the rapid increase in vehicles, identification of the vehicle and control the traffic become challenging issues in every country. Also, it is very difficult for a traffic police to identify the person who drives too fast, who violates the traffic rules and to identify whether the person is owner or thief from the moving vehicles. So, unable to catch and punish those kinds of people. Hence, there is a need for Automatic Vehicle License Plate Recognition (AVNPR) system. Though many LPR systems are available, still it is a challenging task due to unstructured license plate formats, language on plate, speed of vehicle and lightning effects. The main objective of AVNPR is to recognize the license plate using image processing techniques or optical character recognition by applying pytesseract OpenCV Python package. The main focus is on the detection of vehicle license plate, character segmentation and character recognition.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the steady 2D buoyancy effects on MHD flow over a permeable stretching sheet through porous medium in the presence of suction/injection. Design/methodology/approach Similarity transformations are employed to transform the governing partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. The transformed equations are then solved numerically by a shooting technique. Findings The working fluid is examined for several sundry parameters graphically and in tabular form. It is observed that with an increase in magnetic field and permeability of porous parameter, velocity profile decreases while temperature and concentration enhances. Stretching sheet parameter reduces velocity, temperature and concentration, whereas it increases skin friction factor, Nusselt number and Sherwood number. Originality/value Till now no numerical studies are reported on the effects of heat source and thermal radiation on MHD flow over a permeable stretching sheet embedded in porous medium in the presence of chemical reaction.

In the present investigation, seventy five speciality rices called soft rice genotypes collected from different parts of North-East India (especially Assam) were evaluated to study the genetic diversity present in the experimental material for selection of the diverse parents, to estimate the genetic parameters among the genotypes for yield and component traits. The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design with three replications at Directorate of Rice Research Farm, ICRISAT Campus, Patancheru, Hyderabad, India. Based on the relative magnitude of D2 values, the genotypes were grouped into seven clusters. Cluster I was the largest comprising of 62 genotypes followed by cluster II with eight genotypes, cluster III, IV, V, VI and VII with one genotype each. Based on the inter-cluster distances, crossing between the genotypes of cluster IV and cluster VII, cluster III and cluster VII, cluster I with cluster VII and cluster III and cluster VI is suggested to generate diversified breeding material. The data on character means for seven clusters indicated that, the cluster III is having highest mean value for per cent filled grains per panicle, cluster V for seed yield per plant and cluster I for test weight (1000-grain weight) and cluster II for number of productive tillers per plant and cluster IV for panicle length. The characters per cent filled grains per panicle, plant height, seed yield per plant contributed maximum to the genetic divergence. Hence these characters could be given due importance for selection of genotypes for further crop improvement programme.

The elevated temperature electromagnetic materials production system in chemical engineering requires increasingly more refined theoretical and computational models for describing multiple, simultaneous thermophysical effects. Motivated by this application, the present paper addresses heat and mass transfer in a chemically reacting laminar mixed convection flow from a vertical sheet with inducedmagnetic field. The governing equations of the flow are solved analytically using a perturbation technique. The influences of various established parameters on the flow, induced magnetic field, and heat and mass transfer are studied graphically in the present analysis. Finally, we also obtained expressions for shear stress, current density and Nusselt number, and discussed the results through tables.

Wastage of electricity is one of the main problems which we are facing nowadays. In home and working areas, people will be engaged with too many activities. Sometimes, there might be a chance to forget to turn off various electrical appliances like lights, fans, servers, if there were nobody in the room or area/passage. This leads to huge power consumption. Also, it is very difficult to physically challenged persons and old-age people to access the appliances every time manually. To avoid all such situations, we proposed “Smart Home System.” It is the process of automating home appliances in which the various electric and electronic appliances are wired up to a central computer control system so they can be handled more efficiently. “Smart Home” helps to overcome the problems that usually people face in daily life. Behind this, it needs the involvement of multiple complex hardware components in controlling the smart home project and there is a fair amount of software architecture that is responsible for driving the hardware components. Moreover, there is a need to employ persons to monitor such simple tasks. This manual approach is time-consuming and also very costly. Thus, automation is the better alternative through which these tasks can be completed automatically without human effort and also accessed remotely from anywhere and anytime with less effort. Everyone is showing interest in making their home smarter to ease their daily activities. The proposed Smart Home system has the capability to control the home appliances based on the environment. Here, different boards like Raspberry Pi 3 and Arduino UNO are going to be deployed which can take control over the appliances and act accordingly. People can also be notified, if there are any fire/gas leakages inside the home. This security system facilitates the user to take necessary actions as soon as possible to secure their home. It also involves the deployment of different kinds of sensors which can able to detect the object motion, temperature and humidity and fire detection. This application is very simple and can be implemented in all types of homes.

BACKGROUND Among the cardiovascular diseases acquired, valvular heart disease is one of the common causes of mortality and morbidity in India. An average of 40% of causes is rheumatic valvular heart diseases of all patients admitted with heart diseases. Male preponderance has been noted by most of the physicians in rheumatic heart disease in India. Acquired valvular heart diseases are mitral valve prolapse syndrome, papillary muscle dysfunction, the rupture of chordae tendineae, calcified mitral annulus, calcified aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation due to syphilis, connective tissue disorders (Marfan’s syndrome, osteogenesis imperfect and systemic lupus erythematosus), atherosclerosis, hypertension and infective endocarditis. Other less common causes are recurrent pulmonary embolism, tuberculosis, cardiac tumours, carcinoid tumours, cardiac surgery for congenital cardiac anomalies and trauma. MATERIALS AND METHODS It is a prospective study on adult patients with valvular abnormalities attending to the Medicine and Cardiology Units of Government General Hospital, Kakinada, between November 2014-May 2017. Total 100 in-patients were included in this study as per inclusion and exclusion criteria. Inclusion Criteria- All patients aged 13 years and above are considered ‘adult’ and are managed by adult medicine. There is no upper age limit. Exclusion Criteria- Patients with congenital valvular heart diseases and cor pulmonale are excluded in the study. RESULTS The incidence of acquired valvular heart disease is higher in the age group of 31-40 years (32%) followed by 21-30 years age group (28%). Our study also revealed relatively higher incidence of acquired valvular heart disease among the age groups of 51-60 years and above 60 years, which is due to a relatively higher incidence of mitral regurgitation due to ischaemic heart disease in this same age group. CONCLUSION Out of 100 cases studied mitral valve involvement was noted in 56 cases indicating the most common valve to be involved is mitral valve. Out of this, 19% cases had mitral stenosis, 25% cases had mitral regurgitation and 12% cases are with MS + MR. Multivalvular lesion constituted 18% of cases and aortic valve involvement occurred in 26% cases. We observed 10% cases of mitral stenosis and 27.2% of aortic valve involved cases.

The experiment was conducted out at the Indian Institute of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad during dry season (Rabi) 2013-2014 and Wet season (Kharif) 2014 crop seasons. The objective was to establish the nature of relation between grain yield and yield components by partitioning the correlation co-efficients between grain yield and its components into direct and indirect effects by using simple correlation and path analysis. A correlation co-efficient and path analysis study was conducted with eleven parents and their 24 F1 crosses for eleven component characters including grain yield. The correlation studies of these crosses showed that, grain yield per plant exhibited highly significant positive association with plant height, number of productive tillers per plant, panicle length, grains per panicle, and harvest index while days to 50 per cent flowering registered non-significant negative association with grain yield

Bacterial blight (BB) disease reduces the yield of rice varieties and hybrids considerably in many tropical rice growing countries like India. The present study highlights the development of durable BB resistance into the background of an elite maintainer of rice, DRR17B, by incorporating two major dominant genes, Xa21 and Xa33 through marker-assisted backcross breeding (MABB). Through two sets of backcrosses, the two BB resistance genes were transferred separately to DRR17B. In this process, at each stage of backcrossing, foreground selection was carried out for the target resistance genes and for non-fertility restorer alleles concerning the major fertility restorer genes Rf3 and Rf4, using gene-specific PCR-based markers, while background selection was done using a set of 61 and 64 parental polymorphic SSR markers respectively. Backcross derived lines possessing either Xa21 or Xa33 along with maximum genome recovery of DRR17B were identified at BC3F1 generation and selfed to develop BC3F2s. Plants harboring Xa21 or Xa33 in homozygous condition were identified among BC3F2s and were intercrossed with each other to combine both the genes. The intercross F1 plants (ICF1) were selfed and the intercross F2(ICF2) plants possessing both Xa21 and Xa33 in homozygous condition were identified with the help of markers. They were then advanced further by selfing until ICF4 generation. Selected ICF4 lines were evaluated for their resistance against BB with eight virulent isolates and for key agro-morphological traits. Six promising two-gene pyramiding lines of DRR17B with high level of BB resistance and agro-morphological attributes similar or superior to DRR17B with complete maintenance ability have been identified. These lines with elevated level of durable resistance may be handy tool for BB resistance breeding.

Today, many human lives are being expired due to traffic jam and get delayed in reaching the hospital within time. In an emergency condition when a patient is in the ambulance, he/she has to reach the hospital with utmost fast to the nearest hospital should be done in a speedy way to save their lives, hence there is a need to tackle the traffic jam and control the traffic lights accordingly so that ambulance’s lane must be made green and thus providing a stoppage free way for the Ambulance to reach the hospital without delay in time.Normally traffic light systems operate on a timing mechanism that changes the light after a given interval of time. Thus, automated traffic signal releasing system for ambulance will not spend unnecessary time waiting for the traffic lights to change and manage of traffic jam. This proposed project aims to provide facilities and make easier for vehicle in emergency case especially for an ambulance. In an emergency situation, we are using the transmitter and receiver circuit which is using the Radio Frequency (RF) Sensor respectively. The transmitter will send the signal to the receiver that placed at every single traffic light to turn the traffic light from red to green light as the normal traffic is passed through, the traffic light will operate as usual until ambulance vehicle press the button by passing through it. This project aims to design an intelligent traffic light signal which makes the arrival of ambulance free way by halting traffic in case of emergencies. Hence this project will act as a life saver.

Usually there are many symbols related to driving on the roads. In that few of them are important and few of them are negligible. By considering this factor we are going to propose a novel approach to detect traffic signs or signal in real-time basis. Generally to recognize a symbol beside road using a digital process we have to consider two major things which are vehicle speed and sign distance. The proposed novel approach is going to use the PIR sensor to detect the traffic signs which are present at long distance. The output is going to generate an intelligent voice command to enlarge or to give an alert to the person who is driving the vehicle. This novel approach focuses on gathering and analyzing the traffic signs to generate an appropriate alert message to the driver by processing the directions of the symbols and indications. To do this the image processing techniques like Canny edge detection and Gaussian filter will help with analysis of the signs which are gathered by photographic cameras.

Several views of meditation indicate that when either suppressed or repressed material surfaces during meditation, the individual is able to cope with it better. Research on meditation has demonstrated that it helps individuals to overcome stress and transforms them into better persons. However, only a handful of studies have focused on collecting data of actual meditative experiences from practitioners. In this study, meditative experiences of the practitioners of yoga and meditation were collected by means of semi-structured interviews pertaining to the meditative replay of troubling life events. Four long-term meditators (age range, 24–52 years; meditation experience range, 8–12 years) of Yoga Consciousness Trust, India, constituted the final sample (out of 15 subjects) in this pilot study. Thematic analysis revealed that meditative replay of episodes in which material related to the past surfaced helped practitioners to overcome negative feelings and emotions and to clarify cognitions.

Background: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which has posed a constant challenge to mankind in its treatment due to increasing resistance and longer duration of treatment. The newer approach is to look towards strengthening host immune system along with suppressing the organism. Aim of the study was to assess the existence of Vitamin D deficiency in TB patients and aid in the strategies and development of newer improvised approaches in the treatment of TB. Objectives of the study was to estimate vitamin D levels in Tuberculosis (pulmonary and extrapulmonary) patients, assess Correlation between vitamin D and pulmonary tuberculosis and to assess correlation between Vitamin D and extrapulmonary Tuberculosis.Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study. The study consisted of 80 tuberculosis patients both extrapulmonary and pulmonary. Blood samples was analysed for Vitamin D levels and results were compared with age and sex matched controls. Results was analysed using SPSS software.Results: The cases included patient in the age group of 18-60 year with the mean age being 42.34±14.65 year. Of the 80 tuberculosis patients 42 were diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis and 38 constituted extrapulmonary tuberculosis. The mean Vitamin D in cases was 24.82±12.33 and controls was 34.41±6.19.
