Purpose: [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose ([18F]FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) has limitations in prostate cancer (PCa) detection owing to low glycolysis in the primary tumour. Recently, prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT has been useful for biochemical failure detection and radioligand therapy (RLT) guidance. However, few studies have evaluated its use in primary prostate tumours using PSMA and [18F]FDG PET/CT. This study aimed to evaluate [18F]PSMA-1007 and [18F]FDG PET/CT for primary tumour detection and understand the association of metabolic heterogeneity with clinicopathological characteristics at staging and postoperatively. Method: This prospective study included 42 index tumours (27 acinar and 15 ductal-dominant) in 42 patients who underwent [18F]PSMA-1007 and [18F]FDG PET/CT and subsequent radical prostatectomy. All patients were followed for a median of 26 mo, and serum prostate-specific antigen levels were measured every 3 mo to evaluate biochemical failure. One-way analysis of variance, Tukey's multiple comparison test, and Fisher's exact test were performed. Results: All 42 index tumours were detected on [18F]PSMA-1007 PET/CT, whereas only 15 were detected on [18F]FDG PET/CT (62.3% vs. 37.7%, p < 0.0001). A high SUVmax for [18F]PSMA-1007 was observed in tumours with high Gleason scores (GS 6–7 vs. GS 8–10; 12.1 vs. 20.1, p < 0.05). Tumours with [18F]FDG uptake were mostly ductal dominant (acinar-dominant 4/27; ductal-dominant; 11/15, p < 0.001), with lower [18F]PSMA-1007 uptake than tumours without [18F]FDG uptake (SUVmax 16.58 vs. 11.19, p < 0.001). There were 16.6% (7/42) of patients with pStage IV in whom the primary tumours were [18F]FDG positive. Biochemical failure was observed in 14.8% (4/27) of patients with [18F]FDG negative tumours but in 53.3% (8/15) of patients with [18F]FDG positive tumours (p = 0.013). Conclusions: [18F]PSMA-1007 PET/CT was superior to [18F]FDG PET/CT in detecting primary PCa. In contrast, tumours with [18F]FDG uptake are associated with larger size, a ductal-dominant type, and likely to undergo metastasis at staging and biochemical failure postoperatively. We explore systematically the shocked gas in the first Galactic quadrant of the Milky Way using the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT) Wide-field Infrared Survey for Fe+ (UWIFE). The UWIFE survey is the first imaging survey of the Milky Way in the [Fe  ii ] 1.644 μm emission line and covers the Galactic plane in the first Galactic quadrant (7° < |$\mathit {l}$| < 62°; |$|b| $| ≲ 1 |$_{.}^{\circ }$| 5). We identify 204 extended ionized Fe objects (IFOs) using a combination of a manual and automatic search. Most of the IFOs are detected for the first time in the [Fe  ii ] 1.644 μm line. We present a catalogue of the measured sizes and fluxes of the IFOs and searched for their counterparts by performing positional cross-matching with known sources. We found that IFOs are associated with supernova remnants (25), young stellar objects (100), H  ii regions (33), planetary nebulae (17), and luminous blue variables (4). This study examines how two error cultures (error management and error aversion) influence customer-oriented behavior through negative affectivity and job satisfaction. We collected two samples: one for the error-aversive scale validation (n = 140) and the other for the conceptual model (n = 381). All responses are from contact employees working for mid-scale to luxury hotels in a metropolitan city in China. The findings reveal that mid-scale hotels are more error-averse than upscale hotels; upscale and luxury hotels are more inclined to error-management than mid-scale hotels. Further, error strains and error cover-up do not converge as lower-order constructs for error aversion; cover-up appears to be the truly opposite of error management. Cover-up along with strains decreases customer-oriented behavior through negative affectivity. In contrast, error management increases customer orientation through job satisfaction. Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease influenced by a complex interplay of genetic and environmental factors. The activation of the JAK-STAT pathway increases the expression of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-4 and IL-13, further deteriorating AD. Therefore, for the treatment of AD, the JAK-STAT pathway is emerging as a significant target, alongside inflammatory cytokines. This study investigates the potential therapeutic effects of a novel herbal complex, LK5, composed of Scutellaria baicalensis, Liriope platyphylla, Sophora flavescens, Dictammus dasycarpus, and Phellodendron schneider, known for their anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating properties. We examined the anti-inflammatory and anti-AD effects of the LK5 herbal complex in HaCaT cells stimulated by LPS and IL-4/IL-13, as well as in a mouse model of AD induced by DNCB. In HaCaT cells stimulated with LPS or IL-4/IL-13, the LK5 herbal complex demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the expression of inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β, and downregulating the phosphorylation of STAT proteins. In a murine AD-like model induced by DNCB, administration of the LK5 herbal complex significantly ameliorated clinical symptoms, including dermatitis, ear thickness, and TEWL. Histological analysis revealed a reduction in epidermal thickness and mast cell infiltration. The LK5 herbal complex also inhibited pruritus induced by compound 48/80. Furthermore, the LK5 herbal complex treatment significantly decreased the levels of inflammatory cytokines such as TSLP, IL-6, and IgE in plasma and ear tissue of AD-induced mice. Background: The Living Kidney Donor Profile Index (LKDPI) was developed in the United States to predict graft outcomes based on donor characteristics. However, there are significant differences in donor demographics, access to transplantation, proportion of ABO incompatibility, and posttransplant mortality in Asian countries compared with the United States. Methods: We evaluated the clinical relevance of the LKDPI score in a Korean kidney transplant cohort by analyzing 1860 patients who underwent kidney transplantation between 2000 and 2019. Patients were divided into three groups according to LKDPI score: <0, 1–19.9, and ≥20. Results: During a median follow‐up of 119 months, 232 recipients (12.5%) experienced death‐censored graft loss, and 98 recipients (5.3%) died. High LKDPI scores were significantly associated with increased risk of death‐censored graft loss independent of recipient characteristics (LKDPI 1–19.9: HR 1.389, 95% CI 1.036–1.863; LKDPI ≥20: HR 2.121, 95% CI 1.50–2.998). High LKDPI score was also significantly associated with increased risk of biopsy‐proven acute rejection and impaired graft renal function. By contrast, overall patient survival rates were comparable among the LKDPI groups. Conclusion: High LKDPI scores were associated with an increased risk of death‐censored graft loss, biopsy‐proven acute rejection, and impaired graft renal function among a Korean kidney transplant cohort. Simple Summary: Bluetongue (BT) is an economically significant disease in ruminants, transmitted worldwide by Culicoides midges, with the causative agent being the bluetongue virus (BTV). Traditionally prevalent in tropical regions, its geographic range is expanding due to climate change. Despite its global impact, research on the BTV in the Republic of Korea (ROK) is scarce. In this study, we aimed to assess BTV seroprevalence and conduct genetic analyses on isolates from South Korea. Out of 5824 cattle samples, 194 (3.33%) showed BTV antibodies, and 2 out of 1095 (0.18%) goat samples were positive. BTV RNA analyses of 422 high-risk area cattle samples revealed 51 (12.1%) positive cases. The virus was successfully isolated from one sample, identified as serotype 3 based on segment 2 analysis. This study presents the first full-genome sequence of a South Korean BTV serotype 3 isolate, serving as a global reference. These data aid in understanding phylogenetic relationships among BTV strains and recognizing reassortment events, enhancing our knowledge of this developing virus. The bluetongue virus (BTV) is a significant animal pathogen with economic implications in the ruminant industry. Despite global reports on BTV detection and epidemiologic investigations, limited studies have focused on the virus in the ROK. In this study, BTV epidemiological research was conducted on blood samples from cattle and goat farms across nine regions during 2013–2014. The results showed that 3.33% of bovine blood samples (194/5824) and 0.19% of goat blood samples (2/1075) tested positive for BTV antibodies using ELISA. In Jeju-do, BTV RNA amplification occurred in 51 of 422 samples (12.1%) using real-time reverse transcription (RT-qPCR). The isolation of one sample revealed it as serotype 3, as indicated by the sequence of segments 2 (Seg-2) and 6 (Seg-6), associated with the eastern BTV topotype. However, based on Seg-1, -3, -4, -5, -7, -8, -9, and -10 analyses, the BTV-3/JJBB35 strain is more closely related to distinct BTV strains. These findings imply BTV circulation and that the Korean-isolated BTV might originate from Asian BTV strains due to multiple reassortment events.
