The implementation of supported metal catalysts heavily relies on the synergistic interactions between metal nanoparticles and the material they are dispersed on. It is clear that interfacial perimeter sites have outstanding skills for turning catalytic reactions over, however, high activity and selectivity of the designed interface‐induced metal distortion can also obtain catalysts for the most crucial industrial processes as evidenced in this paper. Herein, the beneficial synergy established between designed Pt nanoparticles and MnO in the course of the reverse water gas shift (RWGS) reaction resulted in a Pt/MnO catalyst having ≈10 times higher activity compared to the reference Pt/SBA‐15 catalyst with >99 % CO selectivity. Under activation, a crystal assembly through the metallic Pt (110) and MnO evolved, where the plane distance differences caused a mismatched‐row structure in softer Pt nanoparticles, which was identified by microscopic and surface‐sensitive spectroscopic characterizations combined with density functional theory simulations. The generated edge dislocations caused the Pt lattice expansion which led to the weakening of the Pt−CO bond. Even though MnO also exhibited an adverse effect on Pt by lowering the number of exposed metal sites, rapid desorption of the linearly adsorbed CO species governed the performance of the Pt/MnO in the RWGS. The results obtained in our research of mental distress indicators and results of conflict management strategies are consistent with the results of international studies. Students participating in the study (N = 237) reached the highest average results in the field of personal growth, while we measured the lowest value in the fields of autonomy and the dominance of the environment. Among the mental distress indicators the students gave the highest scores for the stress. The frequency examination showed the results of the participants to fall to 40.9% of moderate-severe and severe extreme range. While among the genders, women indicate much higher stress levels. In addition, the students preferred the avoiding conflict management strategy in preference to the other four strategies. While we compared the students from the two countries we found a significant difference between the survey field of autonomy and purpose in life. We also found a notable difference among the mental distress indicators. While the students of the University of Debrecen were moderate, the students of the universities of Oradea fell in the "slight" area (in the range of stress). For the usage of conflict management strategies we found no significant differences between the two countries' students. The students from both countries preferred the avoiding strategy. This study similar to many national and international studies indicates the high level of stress among the students. One of the most important task of a higher education institution should be the protection of the students' mental health which would lead to an improvement on well-being and that would cause the lowering of the stress level.

The European mink (Mustela lutreola L.) is critically endangered. The Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve (DDBR) is one of the last refuges of this species. Within the DDBR the European mink is still widespread as indicated by 74 life captures in a number of expeditions between 2003 and 2011. No American mink (Neovison vison), a serious threat to the European mink, were trapped or observed during 2000 and 2011 in the DDBR. Trapping success varied both between years and between trapping areas, but up to know the underlying factors for these patterns are not understood. It may be a combination of generally changing mink densities in the Delta due to food availability or reproduction success and habitat quality as a local factor. In this context we discuss potential limiting factors and outline some aspects for a future management plan of the species.

On its original Romanian name - breb, the Eurasian Beaver (Castor fiber) extinct at us for almost two centuries and reintroduced in some areas of the country, at present is better known under the name of his North American relative, beaver. In the last decades, this specie has been reintroduced within in its old habitats from where itwas extinct, especially under the effect of human pressure. Since 1998, reinsertion actions took place in Romania, in many areas, the closest one to Danube Delta area being the lower part of Ialomita river. By 2011 epigraphic or paleozoology evidences about the presence of this mammalian into the actual Delta have not been found, except the Lower Danube, up to Isaccea, but also near Dobrogea Plateau in Murighiol area. Its last Paleontology evidences come from early medieval period. Until now, the actual delta was considered a territory inappropriate for the Eurasian Beaver, due to high fluctuations of the water levels. But, in April 2011, the spontaneous appearance of the European beaver near Maliuc area was proved, a copy killed by poachers. In July 2011, a Beaver injured after the collision with a boat was found and scientifically investigated. The future observations will have to document if this mammal extends its habitat up here or remains an erratic appearance. In case of success of spontaneous colonization, its consequences and effects on the environment in general and on biodiversity inparticular are required to be monitored.

For several tens of years, Sacalin Island has been regarded as the classic example of a new biotope forming in the easternmost part of the Danube, resulted as an interaction between the river and the Black Sea, host to specific flora and fauna; presently, the island tends to become a maritime levee, gradually joining the mainland and Holinca levee. Therefore, the area is losing its physical and geographical features as a new formed territory, including its unique characteristic as an optimal site for the establishment of waterbird colonies. A similar process of islet forming has been recently taking place in the east part of Musura Gulf, between Stambulul Vechi - Starâi Stambul (Ukraine) and Sulina (Romania) branches. The Ukrainian name of the site is Novaia Zemlia – New Land, and the country borders have already been marked. The new formed islets host a rich and diverse ornithological fauna, dueto their location and spatial orientation. On the Romanian side of the site, the reappearance of Sandwich Tern (Sternasandvicensis) colonies, represented by a great number of pairs, as well as Common Terns (Sterna hirundo), has been noted. Also, the site hosts the largest Caspian Gull (Larus cachinnans) colony in the country; the breeding of the Avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta) and of the Oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus) has been documented. The observations performed up to present lead us to conclude that this new formed land is a model for the evolution of river-maritime sandbanks as a result of sedimentation; it is also of a major ornithological importance for the roosting, feeding and nesting ofboth sedentary and migratory species. Further monitoring is imperative in order to designate the site as a core area andresearch based on transboundary cooperation is required.

In previous clinical studies digital variance angiography (DVA) provided higher contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) and better image quality in lower extremity angiography than digital subtraction angiography (DSA). Our aim was to investigate whether DVA has similar quality reserve in prostatic artery embolization (PAE). The secondary aim was to explore the potential advantages of the color-coded DVA (ccDVA) technology in PAE. This retrospective study evaluated 108 angiographic acquisitions from 30 patients (mean ± SD age 68.0 ± 8.9, range 41-87) undergoing PAE between May and October 2020. DSA and DVA images were generated from the same unsubtracted acquisition, and their CNR was calculated. Visual evaluation of DVA and DSA image quality was performed by four experienced interventional radiologists in a randomized, blinded manner. The diagnostic value of DSA and ccDVA images was also evaluated using clinically relevant criteria (visibility of small [< 2.5 mm] and large arteries [> 2.5 mm], feeding arteries and tissue blush) in a paired comparison. Data were analysed by the Wilcoxon signed rank test or the binomial test, the interrater agreement was determined by the Kendall W or Fleiss Kappa analysis. DVA provided 4.11 times higher median CNR than DSA (IQR: 1.72). The visual score of DVA images (4.40 ± 0.05) was significantly higher than that of DSA (3.39 ± 0.07, p < 0.001). The Kendall W analysis showed moderate but significant agreement (W DVA = 0.38, W DSA = 0.53). The preference of ccDVA images was significantly higher in all criteria (63-89%) with an interrater agreement of 58-79%. The Fleiss Kappa range was 0.02-0.18, significant in all criteria except large vessels. Our data show that DVA provides higher CNR and better image quality in PAE. This quality reserve might be used for dose management (reduction of radiation dose and contrast agent volume), and ccDVA technology has also a high potential to assist PAE interventions in the future.
