Coordination compounds of various nickel(II) carboxylates (valerate, benzoate, phthalate, maleate, fumarate) with salicyl hydrazide have been synthesized and studied by IR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of the complex of nickel(II) phthalate with salicyl hydrazide [NiL3]Pht (L is salicyl hydrazide, Pht2– is phthalic acid dianion) has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The structural units of the crystal are complex cations [NiL3]2+ and phthalic acid anions Pht2– joined together by cation–anion N–H...O, O–H...O hydrogen bonds. The nickel atom has distorted octahedron coordination formed by three oxygen and three nitrogen atoms of the three bidentate-chelate ligands L (Ni–O 2.027–2.059, Ni–N 2.067–2.097 Å). Three phenylacetyl hydrazide malonate complexes [M(L3)](Mal) of cobalt(II) (I), nickel(II) (II), and zinc(II) (III), as well as complex [Cu(L)2][Cu(Mal)2] ⋅ 4.5H2O (IV) are synthesized. The obtained compounds are characterized by chemical analysis, IR spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, and thermogravimetry. Abstract: The complexes of 3d-metal 5-sulfosalicylates with phenylacethydrazide are synthesized: [Co(L)3]HSSal · 3H2O (I), [Ni(L)3]HSSal · 3H2O (II), and [Zn(L)3]HSSal · 6H2O (III) (L is phenylacethydrazide, and HSSal2- is 5-sulfosalicylic acid anion). Compounds I-III are characterized by the methods of chemical analysis, IR spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, luminescence, and thermogravimetry. Compound II is studied by X-ray diffraction analysis (СIF file CCDC no. 1819696). In the complex cation [Ni(L)3]2+, the nickel atom has a face octahedral coordination mode by three O atoms and three N atoms of three bidentate chelate ligands L. The complex cations, HSSal2- anions, and crystallization water molecules are joined by a branched system of hydrogen bonds. Complex [Ni(Tsc)2](1.5-Nds) · 2H2O (I), where Tsc = thiosemicarbazide, NH2NHC(=S)NH2; 1,5-Nds2- is double deprotonated anion of 1,5-naphthalene disulfonic acid CH10H6(SO3)22− was synthesized, characterized by IR spectroscopy, and studied by thermogravimetry and X-ray diffraction. Crystal I is built of complex cations [Ni(Tsc)2]2+, anions (Nds)2-, and crystallization water molecules. The Ni atom is coordinated along the vertices of the trans-square by two sulfur atoms and two nitrogen atoms of two bidentate chelating ligands Tsc. The structural units of crystal I are joined by a branched network of N-H···O and O-H···O hydrogen bonds with the participation of donors, namely, the hydrogen atoms of two NH2 groups and the NH group of complex cation [Cu(Tsc)]2+ and the H atoms of water molecules, and acceptors, namely, oxygen atoms of the sulfate group of anion 1,5-Nds2- and solvate water molecules. Complex [Zn(Tsc)2](Nds) · H2O (I) (Tsc is thiosemicarbazide, NH2NHC(=S)NH2, and 1,5-Nds2-is the double-deprotonated anion of 1,5-naphthalenedisulfonic acid, C10H6(SO3)22-) has been synthesized and studied by IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and X-ray diffraction analysis. The structural units of crystal I are complex cations [Zn(Tsc)2]2+, anions (Nds)2-, and crystallization water molecules. The Zn atom is coordinated along the vertices of the distorted tetrahedron by two sulfur atoms and two nitrogen atoms of two bidentate chelate (S,N) Tsc ligands. The structural units of crystal I are joined together by a branched network of the N-H···O hydrogen bonds involving independent donor hydrogen atoms of the NH2 and NH groups of Tsc molecules (nine of ten, except for the H(6A) atom), all six independent acceptor oxygen atoms of the SO3 groups of the Nds2- anions, and two acceptor hydrogen atoms and one donor oxygen atom of the water molecule. The synthesis, analysis, and IR spectroscopic, thermogravimetric, and X-ray diffraction study of [Cu(Tsc)2](Nds) (I), where Tsc is thiosemicarbazide NH2NHC(=S)NH2, and 1,5-Nds2- is the doubly deprotonated 1,5-naphthalenedisulfoacid anion, have been performed. Crystal structure units in complex I are [Cu(Tsc)2]2+ centrosymmetric complex cations and (Nds)2- anions (including those in inversion centers). The [Co2 L 4(C4H9COO)4(H2O)] coordination compound of cobalt(II) valerate with nicotinamide ( L) is synthesized and studied by IR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of the synthesized compound is determined. The crystals are triclinic, and the unit cell parameters are as follows: a = 10.2759(10) Å, b = 16.3858(10) Å, c = 16.4262(10) Å, α = 100.538(10)°, β = 101.199(10)°, γ = 90.813 (10)°, Z = 2, and space group P $$\bar 1$$ . The structural units of the crystal are dimeric molecular complexes in which pairs of cobalt atoms are linked by triple bridges formed by oxygen atoms of two bidentately coordinated valerate anions and a water molecule. The octahedral coordination of each cobalt atom is complemented by the pyridine nitrogen atoms of two nicotinamide ligands and the oxygen atom of the monodentate valerate group.
