Simple Summary: As agriculture and human settlements expand, conflicts between humans and animals become more frequent, resulting in resource loss and safety risks. Therefore, accurately identifying and locating offending animals is essential. This study presents a novel method for automatically detecting offending animals, especially in situations where they are obscured or the images are unclear. This research focused on six types of offending animals commonly found in northeastern China. By employing improved image processing techniques, this study enhanced detection accuracy in complex environments. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms existing techniques on the dataset used. This new approach helps improve the accuracy of intelligent monitoring systems, providing better technical support to minimize conflicts between humans and animals, thus protecting agriculture and ensuring the safety of both humans and animals. This article introduces Multi-Channel Coordinated Attention and Multi-Dimension Feature Aggregation (MDA-DETR). It integrates multi-scale features for enhanced detection accuracy, employing a Multi-Channel Coordinated Attention (MCCA) mechanism to incorporate location, semantic, and long-range dependency information and a Multi-Dimension Feature Aggregation Module (DFAM) for cross-scale feature aggregation. Additionally, the VariFocal Loss function is utilized to assign pixel weights, enhancing detail focus and maintaining accuracy. In the dataset section, this article uses a dataset from the Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park, which includes images of six common offending animal species. In the comprehensive experiments on the dataset, the m A P 50 index of MDA-DETR was 1.3%, 0.6%, 0.3%, 3%, 1.1%, and 0.5% higher than RT-DETR-r18, yolov8n, yolov9-C, DETR, Deformable-detr, and DCA-yolov8, respectively, indicating that MDA-DETR is superior to other advanced methods. Background: All-cause mortality consisting of several heterogeneous subgroups does not have a well-defined set of risk factors. Despite the well-described role of oral hygiene on mortality, the association between the condition of the existing dentition and mortality remains unclear. Therefore, we embarked on the current study to assess the association of oral hygiene self-care (OHS) with all-cause mortality. Methods: We assessed whether edentulism and the levels of OHS are associated with all-cause mortality in 476 subjects without missing values participating in the KOHH study using proportional hazard models. We designated the edentulous group as OHS0, and poor, fair, and good OHS groups as OHS1, OHS2, and OHS3, respectively. The self-reported OHS was validated against clinical measures of oral inflammation and dental cleanliness, i.e., gingival bleeding and plaque indices. We, then, compared all-cause mortality at three levels of OHS (poor, fair, good) to that of the edentulous group. To test whether the association of OHS to all-cause mortality was mediated by inflammation, we adjusted for CRP. Results: The validity of self-reported OHS was good demonstrating an inverse association with gingival inflammation and plaque index in a dose-response manner. The group with good OHS lived significantly longer, with a 50% lower risk of all-cause mortality. The Hazard ratio (HR) = 0.50 (95% confidence limit: 0.25–0.99), p = 0.045, in a model adjusted for age, smoking, body mass index, and education. Adjusting for CRP attenuated the association of OHS to all-cause mortality slightly, suggesting that this association was mediated, at least in part, by inflammation. In the final model, the poor OHS group exhibited HR = 0.98 (0.51–1.89), p = 0.95. The HR and p-value so close to 1 suggested poor OHS has a similar risk to edentulism. Conclusions: OHS was associated with reduced risk for all-cause mortality: the better OHS, the lower the risk for all-cause mortality. Background and Aims While the rationale for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination is to reduce complications and overall mortality, some cardiovascular complications from the vaccine itself have been demonstrated. Myocarditis and pericarditis are recognized as rare acute adverse events after mRNA vaccines in young males, while evidence regarding other cardiovascular events remains limited and inconsistent. This study assessed the risks of several cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in a Swedish nationwide register-based cohort. Methods Post-vaccination risk of myocarditis/pericarditis, dysrhythmias, heart failure, myocardial infarction, and cerebrovascular events (transient ischaemic attack and stroke) in several risk windows after each vaccine dose were assessed among all Swedish adults (n = 8 070 674). Hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) compared with unvaccinated were estimated from Cox regression models adjusted for potential confounders. Results For most studied outcomes, decreased risks of cardiovascular events post-vaccination were observed, especially after dose three (HRs for dose three ranging from.69 to.81), while replicating the increased risk of myocarditis and pericarditis 1–2 weeks after COVID-19 mRNA vaccination. Slightly increased risks, similar across vaccines, were observed for extrasystoles [HR 1.17 (95% CI 1.06–1.28) for dose one and HR 1.22 (95% CI 1.10–1.36) for dose two, stronger in elderly and males] but not for arrhythmias and for transient ischaemic attack [HR 1.13 (95% CI 1.05–1.23), mainly in elderly] but not for stroke. Conclusions Risk of myopericarditis (mRNA vaccines only), extrasystoles, and transient ischaemic attack was transiently increased after COVID-19 vaccination, but full vaccination substantially reduced the risk of several more severe COVID-19-associated cardiovascular outcomes, underscoring the protective benefits of complete vaccination. During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Sweden emphasized voluntary guidelines over mandates. We exploited a rapid change and reversal of the Public Health Agency of Sweden's COVID-19 testing guidelines for vaccinated and recently infected individuals as a quasi-experiment to examine sociodemographic differences in the response to changes in pandemic guidelines. We analyzed daily polymerase chain reaction tests from 1 October 2021 to 15 December 2021, for vaccinated or recently infected adults (≥20 years; n  = 1 596 321) from three Swedish regions (Stockholm, Örebro, and Dalarna). Using interrupted time series analysis, we estimated abrupt changes in testing rates at the two dates when the guidelines were changed (1 November and 22 November). Stratified analysis and meta-regression were employed to explore sociodemographic differences in the strength of the response to the guideline changes. Testing rates declined substantially when guideline against testing of vaccinated and recently infected individuals came into effect on 1 November [testing rate ratio: 0.50 (95% confidence interval, CI 0.41, 0.61)], and increased again from these lowered levels by a similar amount upon its reversal on 22 November [testing rate ratio: 2.19 (95% CI: 1.69, 2.85)]. Being Sweden-born, having higher household income, or higher education, were all associated with a stronger adherent response to the guideline changes. Adjusting for stratum-specific baseline testing rates and test-positivity did not influence the results. Our findings suggest that the population was responsive to the rapid changes in testing guidelines, but with clear sociodemographic differences in the strength of the response. The Fushan Depression is a hydrocarbon-rich depression in the Beibuwan Basin, South China Sea. In this study, 14 source rocks and 19 crude oils from the Chaoyang Step-Fault Zone and Southern Slope Zone were geochemically analyzed to determine their origins. The hydrocarbon generation, migration, and accumulation processes were also determined using two-dimensional basin modeling. Crude oils from the low-step area show a close relationship with the source rocks of the first and second members of the Eocene Liushagang Formation (Els1 and Els2). The oils from the middle-step area and the Southern Slope Zone are derived from the local source rocks in those areas, in the third member of the Eocene Liushagang Formation (Els3). Hydrocarbons generated from the Els3 source rocks of the Southern Slope Zone migrated along sand bodies to the Els3 reservoir. The fault system of the Chaoyang Step-Fault Zone controls hydrocarbon migration and accumulation in the low-step and middle-step areas. The resource potential of the middle-step area is limited by its shallow burial depth. The low-step area is a more favorable exploration area due to its proximity to the source kitchen. Raindrop size distributions (RSDs) retrieved from polarimetric radar observations have proven to be effective for understanding precipitation microphysics. However, the current RSD retrieval scheme from polarimetric radar observations (using radar reflectivity ZHH and differential reflectivity ZDR) in South China has been established for monsoon precipitation only. Using abundant RSD observations from 2D video disdrometers (2DVDs), this study constructs the high-precision shape–slope (μ–Λ) relationships of the constrained gamma (C-G) model for subgroups of ZHH and ZDR for not only monsoon but also premonsoon, typhoon, and dry seasons. The current RSD retrieval is only applicable for precipitation with rain rate: R > 5.0 mm h−1, and total raindrop number concentration: Nt > 1000 m−3. This study expanded the applicability of rain rate and number concentration with R > 0.5 mm h−1 and Nt > 100 m−3. The new retrieval scheme was tested in four typical rainfall cases and provided better accuracy in estimating mass-weighted mean diameters and normalized intercept parameters. The new scheme was also better suited for analyzing precipitation microphysics in South China, which helps to gain a better understanding of microphysics in various types of precipitation in this region.
