Our work aims to evaluate the effects of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) on gut microbiota, with metabolic parameters including body weight and the hormone profile in PCOS.Patients and Methods: Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)-induced PCOS mice were established and then treated with two GLP-1RAs: liraglutide and novel form semaglutide for four weeks. Changes in body weight and metabolic parameters were measured. Fecal samples were collected and analyzed using metagenomic sequencing. Results: Liraglutide and semaglutide modulated both alpha and beta diversity of the gut microbiota in PCOS. Liraglutide increased the Bacillota-to-Bacteroidota ratio through up-regulating the abundance of butyrate-producing members of Bacillota like Lachnospiraceae. Moreover, liraglutide showed the ability to reverse the altered microbial composition and the disrupted microbiota functions caused by PCOS. Semaglutide increased the abundance of Helicobacter in PCOS mice (p < 0.01) which was the only bacteria found negatively correlated with body weight. Moreover, pathways involving porphyrin and flavonoids were increased after semaglutide intervention. Conclusion: Liraglutide and semaglutide improved reproductive and metabolic disorders by modulating the whole structure of gut microbiota in PCOS. The greater efficacy in weight loss compared with liraglutide observed after semaglutide intervention was positively related with Helicobacter. The study may provide new ideas in the treatment and the underlying mechanisms of GLP-1RAs to improve PCOS.Keywords: PCOS, GLP-1 receptor agonists, gut microbiota, metabolism

The treatment of cancer pain in China is facing numerous challenges, one of which includes the irrational usage of analgesic drugs in clinical practice. As a strong opioid analgesic, transdermal fentanyl patch has been widely used due to its convenient clinical application and obvious therapeutic effect. Several basic-level hospitals and even general hospitals in China fail to appropriate the application of drugs in clinical application due to the lack of understanding of the pharmacological characteristics and clinical application of fentanyl transdermal patch by medical staff, seriously affecting the treatment quality. Therefore, it is imperative to strengthen the rational use and management of fentanyl transdermal patches. Accordingly, the initiation by the Cancer Rehabilitation and Palliative Treatment Professional Committee of the Hubei Anti-cancer Association launched the compilation of the “Guidelines for Rational Clinical Use of Fentanyl Transdermal Patch” (from now on referred to as the “Guidelines”) in Hubei Province, China. The experts in the preparation group are experts in many disciplines, such as medicine, pharmacy, and nursing. The expert group determines the outline, prepares the required regulations, and revises it repeatedly. Moreover, these experts put forward suggestions for revision to strictly control the accuracy and scientific authenticity of the contents of the “Guide”. Finally, all experts of the preparation team certify and finalize the draft. This “Guide” prepared by experts of the Cancer Rehabilitation and Palliative Treatment Professional Committee of the Hubei Anti-cancer Association and the expert advisory group with joint efforts, aims to play a positive role in promoting the rational clinical use of fentanyl transdermal patch, reducing the mental and economic burden of patients, and ensuring medical quality and medical safety. Keywords: fentanyl transdermal patch, reasonable application, medication guidelines

To clarify the mechanism of action of BSHXF, we validated the rat intervertebral disc degeneration model and the nucleus pulposus cell degeneration model. Methods: In an in vivo model of IVDD the study explores the impact of BSHXF on mitochondrial function, pro-inflammatory cytokines, pro-apoptotic factors, and matrix metalloproteinases. Additionally, it evaluates the induced degeneration of nucleus pulposus (NP) cells in an in vitro model stimulated by interleukin-1 β (IL-1β). The study measures the effects of BSHXF on both the inflammatory response and mitochondrial function. Results: The MRI results showed that BSHXF reduced intervertebral disc volume reduction and degradation of NP tissue. HE, SO-FG and immunofluorescence further confirmed the protective effect of BSHXF on degenerative intervertebral discs. BSHXF reduced the inflammatory levels of IL-6 IL-1β and TNF-α in degenerative intervertebral disc tissue. Meanwhile, JC-1, mPTP and ROS detection revealed that BSHXF can restore mitochondrial function by regulating the expression of antioxidant proteins, playing a protective role in NP cells. Finally, the WB results showed that BSHXF can alleviate IL-1β mediate the degeneration of NP cells. BSHXF can alleviate NP cell apoptosis by inhibiting the expression of bax, cleaved caspase-3, caspase-3, and cyt-c, and increasing the expression of Bcl-2.Conclusion: This study reveals that BSHXF inhibits the development of inflammatory factors, which may play a significant role in intervertebral disc degeneration. This implies that BSHXF is a suitable herbal medication for future research into inflammatory cytokine treatment. Keywords: intervertebral disc degeneration, nucleus pulposus cell, BSHXF, apoptosis, inflammatory

Chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy is being tried in patients with triple-negative breast cancer. As a kind of “cold tumor”, triple-negative breast cancer has a bottleneck in immunotherapy. Indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase-1 inhibitors can reverse the immunosuppressive state and enhance the immune response. Methods: In this study, mesoporous silica nanoparticles were coated with the chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin and indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase 1 inhibitor 1-Methyl-DL-tryptophan (1-MT), and then encapsulate the surfaces of a triple-negative breast cancer cell membrane to construct the tumor dual-targeted delivery system CDIMSN for chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and to investigate the immunogenic death effect of CDIMSN.Results and discussion: The CDIMSN could target the tumor microenvironment. Doxorubicin induced tumor immunogenic death, while 1-MT reversed immunosuppression. In vivo findings showed that the tumor size in the CDIMSN group was 2.66-fold and 1.56-fold smaller than that in DOX and DIMSN groups, respectively. CDIMSN group was better than naked DIMSN in stimulating CD8+T cells, CD4+T cells and promoting Dendritic Cells(DC) maturation. In addition, blood analysis, biochemical analysis and Hematoxylin staining analysis of mice showed that the bionic nanoparticles had good biological safety. The mean age for chronic gastritis onset was determined to be 54.79 years. In the context of esophageal-gastric-intestinal disorders, the distribution across various ethnic groups manifested as follows: the Han, Uygur, Hui, and Kazakh populations comprised 53.97%, 23.91%, 7.15%, and 3.46%, respectively. Through principal component-based dimension reduction analysis, we identified chronic non-atrophic gastritis with erosive gastritis, duodenal bulb inflammation, and chronic non-atrophic gastritis (predominantly in the gastric antrum) as pivotal factors contributing to differences in hiatal hernia. Multiple linear regression models were established for different ethnic groups, duodenal bulb inflammation, and hiatal hernia by age. The results revealed a heightened risk of duodenal bulb inflammation (P < 0.01) in Han, Kazakh, Hui, Mongolian, and Uygur women, while the risk of hiatal hernia exhibited a positive correlation with age (P = 0.001).Conclusion: Among patients undergoing gastrointestinal examinations in northern Xinjiang, the most prevalent pathological condition was identified as chronic gastritis. Notably, within this subgroup, the prevalence of duodenal bulb inflammation was found to be greater in women than in men. The ethnic composition within this context encompassed patients from the Han, Kazakh, Hui, and Mongolian ethnic groups. Furthermore, a positive correlation was identified between the incidence of esophageal hiatal hernia and age. Keywords: age, ethnicity, esophageal-gastric-intestinal disease, gastroscopy, gender, northern Xinjiang

The thermal Hall effect, defined as a heat current response transversal to an applied temperature gradient, is a central experimental probe of exotic electrically insulating phases of matter. A key question is how the interplay between magnetic and structural degrees of freedom gives rise to a nonzero thermal Hall conductivity (THC). Here, we present evidence for an intrinsic thermal Hall effect in the Heisenberg-Kitaev antiferromagnet and spin-liquid candidate Na$_2$Co$_2$TeO$_6$ brought about by the quantum-geometric Berry curvature of so-called magnon polarons, resulting from magnon-phonon hybridization. At low temperatures, our field- and temperature-dependent measurements show a negative THC for magnetic fields below 10 T and a sign change to positive THC above. Theoretically, the sign and the order of magnitude of the THC cannot be solely explained with magnetic excitations. We demonstrate that, by incorporating spin-lattice coupling into our theoretical calculations, the Berry curvature of magnon polarons counteracts the purely magnonic contribution, reverses the overall sign of the THC, and increases its magnitude, which significantly improves agreement with experimental data. Our work highlights the crucial role of spin-lattice coupling in the thermal Hall effect., Comment: 19 pages, 4 figures

However, it is unclear how RvD1 is involved in human coronary artery disease. This study aims to investigate the association between plasma levels of RvD1 and culprit-plaque characteristics in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).Methods: A total of 240 STEMI patients undergoing optical coherence tomography (OCT) examination were analyzed. RvD1 levels were measured in patient plasma samples using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Logistic regression was performed to assess the association between RvD1 levels and various culprit plaque morphologies, and the receiver operating curve was used to search for an optimal cutoff threshold to predict certain pathological features. Results: The median RvD1 level was 129.7 (56.6– 297.8) pg/mL. According to multivariable logistic regression, high RvD1 was associated with plaque rupture (≥ 111.5 pg/mL, odds ratio [OR]: 2.09, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.20– 3.66, P = 0.010), healed plaques (≥ 246.4 pg/mL, OR: 2.17, 95% CI: 1.11– 4.24, P = 0.023), and calcification (≥ 293.38 pg/mL, OR: 2.10, 95% CI: 1.21– 3.66, P = 0.008) at culprit lesions. Conclusion: Increased levels of RvD1 were associated with higher instability of coronary atherosclerotic plaques in STEMI patients. Keywords: resolvin D1, specialized pro-resolving lipid mediator, myocardial infarction, optical coherence tomography, atherosclerosis, inflammation

In this study, we examined the antitumor activity of TQB3616, a novel inhibitor of CDK4/6 activity, which showed a greater efficacy improvement in antitumor effects. Methods: TQB3616 group, abemaciclib group and endocrine or HER-2 targeted combination therapy group were set up respectively. The effects of drugs on cell proliferation activity, cell cycle, apoptosis, downstream protein expression and gene expression of HR positive (T47D, MCF-7) and HER-2 positive (BT474, MDA-MB-361) breast cancer cell lines were studied. The antiproliferative effect of TQB3616 was also measured in vivo. Results: TQB3616 showed a remarkable inhibitory effect on the proliferation of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer cells in vitro. In addition, TQB3616 combined with endocrine therapy or Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) targeted therapy showed significant synergistic antitumor activity in estrogen receptor (ER)-positive/HER2-negative or HER2-positive breast cancer. In contrast to abemaciclib, which targets the CDK4/6 pathway with proven efficacy, the oral agent TQB3616 not only induced G1 stalling, leading to a profound reduction in the level of RB protein phosphorylated at Ser807/811, but also showed enhanced tumor killing effects by promoting cell apoptosis. Oral administration of TQB3616 showed more potent antitumor activity than abemaciclib in an in vitro breast cancer xenograft model, causing significant tumor regression associated with sustained target inhibition in tumor tissue and manageable in vivo toxicity. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that TQB3616 is a novel CDK4/6 inhibitor, and its highly effective antitumor activity against breast cancer is expected to yield promising therapeutic effects in clinical studies. Keywords: breast cancer, endocrine therapy, CDK inhibitors, apoptosis, abemaciclib

A high-throughput methodology is proposed, based on the combination of diffusion couples and advanced nanomechanical testing methods, to directly measure alloying effects on the critical resolved shear stress (CRSS) of individual deformation modes in Mg alloys. The methodology is tested in Mg-Zn alloys by assessing the alloying effects, up to Zn contents of 2 at.%, on basal slip, extension twining and pyramidal slip in two metallurgical condition: as-quenched, for which the Zn solute atoms remain homogenously dispersed in solid solution; and peak-aged, for which the Zn atoms form rod-shape $MgZn_{2}$ precipitates. A combined approach including micromechanical testing, transmission Kikuchi diffraction, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy was performed to reveal the corresponding deformation mechanisms. It was found that the CRSS enhancement for basal slip and extension twinning by $MgZn_{2}$ precipitates is considerably larger than the effect of Zn in solid solution, while the strengthening of pyramidal slip is similar in both cases. As a result, the anisotropy ratios remain high and similar to pure Mg in the solid solution strengthened Mg-Zn alloys. However, they are substantially reduced in precipitation strengthened Mg-Zn alloys.

Condensed Matter - Strongly Correlated Electrons - Abstract
A recent focus of quantum spin liquid (QSL) studies is how disorder/randomness in a QSL candidate affects its true magnetic ground state. The ultimate question is whether the QSL survives disorder or the disorder leads to a "spin-liquid-like" state, such as the proposed random-singlet (RS) state. Since disorder is a standard feature of most QSL candidates, this question represents a major challenge for QSL candidates. YbMgGaO$_4$, a triangular lattice antiferromagnet with effective spin-1/2 Yb$^{3+}$ ions, is an ideal system to address this question, since it shows no long-range magnetic ordering with Mg/Ga site disorder. Despite the intensive study, it remains unresolved as to whether YbMgGaO$_4$ is a QSL or in the RS state. Here, through ultralow-temperature thermal conductivity and magnetic torque measurements, plus specific heat and DC magnetization data, we observed a residual $\kappa_0/T$ term and series of quantum spin state transitions in the zero temperature limit for YbMgGaO$_4$. These observations strongly suggest that a QSL state with itinerant excitations and quantum spin fluctuations survives disorder in YbMgGaO$_4$., Comment: 31 pages, 10 figures

Condensed Matter - Materials Science ,Condensed Matter - Strongly Correlated Electrons - Abstract
We have grown single crystals of Na$_2$BaNi(PO$_4$)$_2$, a new spin-1 equilateral triangular lattice antiferromagnet (ETLAF), and performed magnetic susceptibility, specific heat and thermal conductivity measurements at ultralow temperatures. The main results are (i) at zero magnetic field, Na$_2$BaNi(PO$_4$)$_2$ exhibits a magnetic ordering at 430 mK with a weak ferromagnetic moment along the $c$ axis. This suggests a canted 120$^\circ$ spin structure, which is in a plane including the crystallographic $c$ axis due to the existence of an easy-axis anisotropy and ferromagnetically stacked along the $c$ axis; (ii) with increasing field along the $c$ axis, a 1/3 magnetization plateau is observed which means the canted 120$^\circ$ spin structure is transformed to a up up down (UUD) spin structure. With even higher fields, the UUD phase further evolves to possible V and V' phases; (iii) with increasing field along the $a$ axis, the canted 120$^\circ$ spin structure is possibly transformed to a umbrella phase and a V phase. Therefore, Na$_2$BaNi(PO$_4$)$_2$ is a rare example of spin-1 ETLAF with single crystalline form to exhibit easy-axis spin anisotropy and series of quantum spin state transitions., Comment: 9 pages, 10 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. DKD is associated with oxidative stress and inflammation. Versican (VCAN), a chondroitin sulphate proteoglycan, has been proven to participate in oxidative stress and inflammation. This study aimed to explore the overall and sex-based relationship between serum VCAN levels and albuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).Methods: 428 patients with T2DM and 84 healthy individuals were enrolled. Patients with diabetes were separated into normal albuminuria, microalbuminuria, and macroalbuminuria groups, according to their urinary albumin/creatinine ratio (UACR). Serum VCAN levels were tested using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: Compared with males, female patients were older, and had higher total cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, but lower body mass index, diastolic blood pressure, glycated hemoglobin A1, alanine aminotransferase, urinary albumin (UA), and serum creatinine (SCr) (P < 0.05). The VCAN levels in male patients with T2DM were significantly higher than those in the healthy individuals. Male patients with T2DM with albuminuria (micro and macro) had higher levels of VCAN than in patients with normal albuminuria; the highest level was seen in patients with macroalbuminuria (P < 0.05). In male patients with T2DM, serum VCAN correlated positively with systolic blood pressure, blood urea nitrogen, UA, SCr, and UACR, but correlated negatively with the estimated glomerular filtration rate. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of serum VCAN to diagnose albuminuria was 0.702, with a corresponding cut-off value of 0.399 ng/mL (P < 0.001). However, the association between serum VCAN and UACR was not observed in female patients with T2DM.Conclusion: Serum VCAN levels correlated positively with the severity of albuminuria in male patients with T2DM.Keywords: diabetic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, versican, biomarker

The core mass of galaxy clusters is both an important anchor of the radial mass distribution profile and probe of structure formation. With thousands of strong lensing galaxy clusters being discovered by current and upcoming surveys, timely, efficient, and accurate core mass estimates are needed. We assess the results of two efficient methods to estimate the core mass of strong lensing clusters: the mass enclosed by the Einstein radius ($M_{corr}(<\theta_E)$ where $\theta_{\rm E}$ is approximated from arc positions; Remolina Gonz\'{a}lez et al. 2020), and single-halo lens model ($M_{\rm{SHM}}(<\rm{e}\theta_{\rm{E}})$; Remolina Gonz\'{a}lez et al. 2021), against measurements from publicly available detailed lens models ($M_{\rm{DLM}}$) of the same clusters. We use data from the Sloan Giant Arc Survey, the Reionization Lensing Cluster Survey, the \Hubble\ Frontier Fields, and the Cluster Lensing and Supernova Survey with \Hubble. We find a scatter of $18.3\%$ ($8.4\%$) with a bias of $-7.5\%$ ($0.4\%$) between $M_{corr}(<\theta_E)$ ($M_{\rm{SHM}}(<\rm{e}\theta_{\rm{E}})$) and $M_{\rm{DLM}}$. Last, we compare the statistical uncertainties measured in this work to those from simulations. This work demonstrates the successful application of these methods to observational data. As the effort to efficiently model the mass distribution of strong lensing galaxy clusters continues, we need fast, reliable methods to advance the field.

Astrophysics - Cosmology and Nongalactic Astrophysics - Abstract
The core mass of galaxy clusters is an important probe of structure formation. Here, we evaluate the use of a Single-Halo model (SHM) as an efficient method to estimate the strong lensing cluster core mass, testing it with ray-traced images from the `Outer Rim' simulation. Unlike detailed lens models, the SHM represents the cluster mass distribution with a single halo and can be automatically generated from the measured lensing constraints. We find that the projected core mass estimated with this method, M$_{\rm SHM}$, has a scatter of $8.52\%$ and a bias of $0.90\%$ compared to the "true" mass within the same aperture. Our analysis shows no systematic correlation between the scatter or bias and the lens-source system properties. The bias and scatter can be reduced to $3.26\%$ and $0.34\%$, respectively, by excluding models that fail a visual inspection test. We find that the SHM success depends on the lensing geometry, with single giant arc configurations accounting for most of the failed cases due to their limiting constraining power. When excluding such cases, we measure a scatter and bias of $3.88\%$ and $0.84\%$, respectively. Finally, we find that when the source redshift is unknown, the model-predicted redshifts are overestimated, and the M$_{\rm SHM}$ is underestimated by a few percent, highlighting the importance of securing spectroscopic redshifts of background sources. Our analysis provides a quantitative characterization of M$_{\rm SHM}$, enabling its efficient use as a tool to estimate the strong lensing cluster core masses in the large samples, expected from current and future surveys.

Honey bees are a commonly used species for alcohol research due to their genome being fully sequenced, their behavioral changes following consumption, and their preference for alcohol. The purpose of this article is to provide a preliminary examination of the genetic expression of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) and big potassium ion channel protein (BKP) in honey bees following the consumption of either 0%, 2.5%, 5%, or 10% ethanol (EtOH) solutions. The foraging behaviors of the bees were observed and recorded through their return and drinking times. There were significant differences in the return and drinking times between some of the groups. The bees in the 10% condition took significantly longer to return compared to the other groups. Additionally, the bees in the 5% group spent significantly more time drinking compared to the bees in the control (0%) group. There were no significant differences in HSP70 or BKP between the different ethanol groups. Cumulatively, these findings suggest that, while bees may exhibit behavioral differences, the differences in gene expression may not be observed at the transcriptional level.

- Abstract
This study aimed to identify the feasibility and expediency of gamifying activities in higher education institutions, for which an original methodology was used. However, gamification is complex and carries a high degree of risk in achieving organizational efficiency. It is therefore advisable to adopt a fragmented approach and selectively gamify individual processes and features, focusing on educational and research activities. When introducing gamification, top management should provide conceptual and regulatory support and HR specialists coordination. Using a distribution model of managerial functions for gaming activities and determining priorities, taking the use of artificial intelligence into account, is shown to be expedient.

Astrophysics - Cosmology and Nongalactic Astrophysics - Abstract
In the era of large surveys, yielding thousands of galaxy clusters, efficient mass proxies at all scales are necessary in order to fully utilize clusters as cosmological probes. At the cores of strong lensing clusters, the Einstein radius can be turned into a mass estimate. This efficient method has been routinely used in literature, in lieu of detailed mass models; however, its scatter, assumed to be $\sim30\%$, has not yet been quantified. Here, we assess this method by testing it against ray-traced images of cluster-scale halos from the Outer Rim N-body cosmological simulation. We measure a scatter of $13.9\%$ and a positive bias of $8.8\%$ in $M(<\theta_E)$, with no systematic correlation with total cluster mass, concentration, or lens or source redshifts. We find that increased deviation from spherical symmetry increases the scatter; conversely, where the lens produces arcs that cover a large fraction of its Einstein circle, both the scatter and the bias decrease. While spectroscopic redshifts of the lensed sources are critical for accurate magnifications and time delays, we show that for the purpose of estimating the total enclosed mass, the scatter introduced by source redshift uncertainty is negligible compared to other sources of error. Finally, we derive and apply an empirical correction that eliminates the bias, and reduces the scatter to $10.1\%$ without introducing new correlations with mass, redshifts, or concentration. Our analysis provides the first quantitative assessment of the uncertainties in $M(<\theta_E)$, and enables its effective use as a core mass estimator of strong lensing galaxy clusters.

Physics - Instrumentation and Detectors ,High Energy Physics - Experiment - Abstract
To maximize the light yield of the liquid scintillator (LS) for the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), a 20 t LS sample was produced in a pilot plant at Daya Bay. The optical properties of the new LS in various compositions were studied by replacing the gadolinium-loaded LS in one antineutrino detector. The concentrations of the fluor, PPO, and the wavelength shifter, bis-MSB, were increased in 12 steps from 0.5 g/L and <0.01 mg/L to 4 g/L and 13 mg/L, respectively. The numbers of total detected photoelectrons suggest that, with the optically purified solvent, the bis-MSB concentration does not need to be more than 4 mg/L. To bridge the one order of magnitude in the detector size difference between Daya Bay and JUNO, the Daya Bay data were used to tune the parameters of a newly developed optical model. Then, the model and tuned parameters were used in the JUNO simulation. This enabled to determine the optimal composition for the JUNO LS: purified solvent LAB with 2.5 g/L PPO, and 1 to 4 mg/L bis-MSB., Comment: 13 pages, 8 figures

Rare-earth pyrochlores are known to exhibit exotic magnetic phenomena. We report a study of crystal growth and characterizations of a new rare-earth compound Er$_2$AlSbO$_7$, in which Al$^{3+}$ and Sb$^{5+}$ ions share the same positions with a random distribution. The magnetism are studied by magnetic susceptibility, specific heat and thermal conductivity measurements at low temperatures down to several tens of milli-kelvin. Different from the other reported Er-based pyrochlores exhibiting distinct magnetically ordered states, a spin-freezing transition is detected in Er$_2$AlSbO$_7$ below 0.37 K, which is primarily ascribed to the inherent structural disorder. A cluster spin-glass state is proposed in view of the frequency dependence of the peak position in the ac susceptibility. In addition, the temperature and field dependence of thermal conductivity indicates rather strong spin fluctuations which is probably due to the phase competition., Comment: 10 pages, 8 figures, accepted for publication Phys. Astrophysics - High Energy Astrophysical Phenomena - Abstract
The precise measurement of cosmic-ray antinuclei serves as an important means for identifying the nature of dark matter and other new astrophysical phenomena, and could be used with other cosmic-ray species to understand cosmic-ray production and propagation in the Galaxy. For instance, low-energy antideuterons would provide a "smoking gun" signature of dark matter annihilation or decay, essentially free of astrophysical background. Studies in recent years have emphasized that models for cosmic-ray antideuterons must be considered together with the abundant cosmic antiprotons and any potential observation of antihelium. Therefore, a second dedicated Antideuteron Workshop was organized at UCLA in March 2019, bringing together a community of theorists and experimentalists to review the status of current observations of cosmic-ray antinuclei, the theoretical work towards understanding these signatures, and the potential of upcoming measurements to illuminate ongoing controversies. This review aims to synthesize this recent work and present implications for the upcoming decade of antinuclei observations and searches. This includes discussion of a possible dark matter signature in the AMS-02 antiproton spectrum, the most recent limits from BESS Polar-II on the cosmic antideuteron flux, and reports of candidate antihelium events by AMS-02; recent collider and cosmic-ray measurements relevant for antinuclei production models; the state of cosmic-ray transport models in light of AMS-02 and Voyager data; and the prospects for upcoming experiments, such as GAPS. This provides a roadmap for progress on cosmic antinuclei signatures of dark matter in the coming years., Comment: 45 pages, 14 figures

- Abstract
Lithium ion cells that can be quickly charged are of critical importance for the continued and accelerated penetration of electric vehicles (EV) into the consumer market. Considering this, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has set a cell recharge time goal of 10–15 min. The following study provides an investigation into the effect of cell design, specifically negative to positive matching ratio (1.2:1 vs. 1.7:1) on fast charging performance. By using specific charging procedures based on negative electrode performance, as opposed to the industrial standard constant current constant voltage procedures, we show that the cells with a higher N:P ratio can be charged to ~16% higher capacity in the ten-minute time frame. Cells with a higher N:P ratio also show similar cycle life performance to those with a conventional N:P ratio, despite the fact that these cells experience a much higher irreversible capacity loss, leading to a lower reversible specific capacity.

Condensed Matter - Strongly Correlated Electrons - Abstract
The most fascinating feature of certain two-dimensional (2D) gapless quantum spin liquid (QSL) is that their spinon excitations behave like the fermionic carriers of a paramagnetic metal. The spinon Fermi surface is then expected to produce a linear increase of the thermal conductivity with temperature that should manifest via a residual value ($\kappa_0/T$) in the zero-temperature limit. However, this linear in T behavior has been reported for very few QSL candidates. Here, we studied the ultralow-temperature thermal conductivity of an effective spin-1/2 triangular QSL candidate Na$_2$BaCo(PO$_4$)$_2$, which has an antiferromagnetic order at very low temperature ($T_N \sim$ 148 mK), and observed a finite $\kappa_0/T$ extrapolated from the data above $T_N$. Moreover, while approaching zero temperature, it exhibits series of quantum spin state transitions with applied field along the $c$ axis. These observations indicate that Na$_2$BaCo(PO$_4$)$_2$ possibly behaves as a gapless QSL with itinerant spin excitations above $T_N$ and its strong quantum spin fluctuations persist below $T_N$., Comment: 24 pages, 5 figures, with Supplementary Information

Condensed Matter - Materials Science - Abstract
The influence of solute atoms (Al and Zn) on the deformation mechanisms and the critical resolved shear stress for basal slip in Mg alloys at 298 K and 373 K was ascertained by micropillar compression tests in combination with high-throughput processing techniques based on the diffusion couples. It was found that the presence of solute atoms enhances the size effect at 298 K as well as the localization of deformation in slip bands, which is associated with large strain bursts in the resolved shear stress ($\tau_{RSS}$)-strain ($\epsilon$) curves. Deformation in pure Mg and Mg alloys was more homogeneous at 373 K and the influence of the micropillar size on the critical resolved shear stress was much smaller. In this latter case, it was possible to determine the effect of solute content on the critical resolved shear stress for basal slip in Mg-Al and Mg-Zn alloys.
