Abstract

The flattening at the low energy end of the hard X-ray (HXR) photon spectrum of solar flares was generally thought to be due to a cutoff of nonthermal electrons in flares. However, some authors have suggested that inverse Compton scattering (i.e., the albedo effect) or certain other reaction of flare photons with the lower atmosphere can also lead to the flattening. This paper adopts the method of deriving the cutoff proposed by Gan et al. [12–14], and makes a statistical analysis on 100 flares observed by the satellite Ramaty High Energy Solar Spectroscopy Imager (RHESSI) in 2002–2005. We found that after the albedo correction, the HXR photon spectra of 18 flares can be fitted with single powerlaw spectra, and those of 80 flares, with double power-law spectra. Besides, 21 flares can be directly interpreted with a single power-law electron spectrum plus a low energy cutoff. The range of the low energy cutoff is 20–50 keV and the mean value is approximately 30 keV. Some other possible interpretations are also investigated.

Abstract

From an inter-comparison among TRACE, RHESSI, and Hα images of the X4.8 flare of 2002 July 23, we found it to be a typical two-ribbon flare. The Hα and TRACE 195A images are all shown to have the two-ribbon pattern, while the TRACE 195A images show also a loop-arch whose footpoints deviate slightly from the ribbons. The TRACE 195A ribbons match well the higher energy hard X-ray images. During the impulsive phase, the hard X-ray images above 38 keV present a low-lying loop connecting the two ribbons of TRACE 195A. Above the low-lying loop, there is a coronal low energy hard X-ray source. The spatial structure and evolutionary patterns as a whole are presented. Possible theoretical explanations are briefly discussed.

Abstract

Axis orbit is an important characteristic to be used in the condition monitoring and diagnosis system of rotating machine. The wavelet moment has the invariant to the translation, scaling and rotation. A method, which uses a neural network based on Radial Basis Function (RBF) and wavelet moment invariants to identify the orbit of shaft centerline of rotating machine is discussed in this paper. The principle and its application procedure of the method are introduced in detail. It gives simulation results of automatic identification for three typical axis orbits. It is proved that the method is effective and practicable.

Abstract

With the introduction and development of evidence-based medicine in China, it has been spread rapidly in the area of integrative medicine (IM) and has become a new unique discipline. During almost 20 years, as one of the most important parts of evidence-based IM, systematic review (SR)/meta-analysis (MA) of IM have shown a good development momentum in the aspects of quantity, depth, breadth and influence, but also face the harsh situation of the uncontrolled quantity and quality, especially for SRs in Chinese. Therefore, how to supervise and standardize this area effectively becomes a problem to be solved. Based on the experience both at home and abroad, the authors put forward several kinds of solutions for laying the foundation for further development such as promoting the registration system of SR/MA of IM, effectively setting up the regulatory platform of quality and quantity, launching professional training for SR/MA reviewers, forming qualification registration, developing the data transfer and sharing platform to realize the transparency of evidence process. Abstract

The fault diagnosis and the evaluation of the performance of hydraulic generator sets (HGSs) is a hotspot of the research on hydraulic system. In this paper, the parameters correlating with the performance of HGSs are analyzed primarily. The index of evaluation of general performance is established on information entropy by fused information of time, frequency domain, fault probability and running condition. These indexes are applied in the evaluation of performance of HGSs,. It is proved that these productions are effective to the evaluation of machine sets steadiness.

79. Misoprostol versus ergometrine-oxytocin for preventing postpartum haemorrhage: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Abstract

Objective To compare the effects of misoprostol versus ergometrine-oxytocin for postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) prevention, and provide important evidence to choose optimal agents for preventing PPH in developing countries. Methods The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, PubMed, EMbase, and were searched from inception to 1st January 2016. Two authors independently extracted data and assessed risk of bias of studies according to Cochrane Handbook5.1.0. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan5.2.4 software. Results A total of 4034 women from six randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included. Meta-analyses showed that the PPH rate (7.6% vs. 4.2%, RR = 1.81, 95%CI (1.40, 2.35), P < 0.01), and the additional uterotonic therapy (19.2% vs. 10.5%, RR = 1.83, 95%CI (1.57, 2.14), P < 0.01) for misoprostol group were significantly higher than ergometrine-oxytocin group, respectively. But there was no significant difference of severe PPH rate between two groups (1.2% vs. 0.76%, RR = 1.55, 95%CI (0.78, 3.07), P = 0.21). The need for manual removal of placenta in misoprostol was only about one-third of ergometrine-oxytocin (0.5% vs. 1.4%, RR = 0.33, 95%CI (0.15, 0.76), P < 0.01). Conclusions Misoprostol can be used in the third stage of labor for preventing PPH where sterilized syringe and trained midwife were absent, and ergoetrine-oxytocin could be deemed as alternative agent in low-resource setting due to recognized effect. As a result of limited evidence about these uterotonic agents, the more high-quality RCTs are needed to determine the potentials and harms of various uterotonic agents for preventing PPH in developing countries. Abstract

The complex network dynamics of the Internet is mainly influenced by user requirement behaviors, and can be statistic in time series. A large number of complex networks, both natural and artificial, share the presence of highly heterogeneous, scale-free degree distributions and small-world phenomena. This paper analyzed the empirical collective behavior of user requirements in a region, and discovered that the frequency and the in-degree distributions of bipartite networks constructed by user visiting web sites follows the power-law, and the exponent is between 1.7 and 1.8. A novel two-tier model, the virtual resource networks (VRN) and physics topology networks (PTN), is proposed to study the influences on the Internet collective behaviors. The mapping process mechanisens of VRN to PTN simulates how the dynamic behaviors of resource network influence the internet physics topology networks. The power-law characteristics of VRN can bring forth the result that the phase transition critical point moves left and network performance is more incapable. The distributed mapping process of VRN to PTN was constructed for the small subset with the high degree nodes, then the phase transition critical point of PTN moves right and the network performance is improved obviously.
