56. Research on the Relationship between Multi-Component Complex Ore and Its Component Minerals' Grinding Characteristics under Abrasion Force.

Abstract

The relationship between the grinding characteristics of polymetallic complex ore and its component minerals, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, and quartz, under the action of abrasion was studied, based on batch grinding experiments and theoretical analysis methods of selective grinding. The results show that when the polymetallic complex ore was subjected to the action of abrasion, the crushing effect of ore was enhanced by the existence of sphalerite, that is, sphalerite plays a positive role in the crushing effect of ore. The crushing effect of ore was reduced by the existence of pyrrhotite and quartz, that is, pyrrhotite and quartz plays a negative role in the crushing effect of ore. In addition, the sphalerite had a more prominent effect on the grinding characteristics of the ore. The grinding speed of ore and its component minerals decreased exponentially with the grinding time, and the instantaneous grinding speed of 0 min was negatively correlated with the feed sizes. The rapidly decreasing trend of the grinding speed reached the threshold when the grinding time reached 4 min. The results can provide some theoretical guidance for the study of grinding characteristics of multi-component complex ores in subsequent grinding process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Nanoporous thermal insulating composites of fumed silica, opacifier, and fiber have been prepared by a dry molding method. SiC is adopted as an opacifier to improve thermal insulating performance at higher temperatures where radiation heat transfer plays an important role in entire heat transfer system. Radiative heat attenuation mechanisms have been illuminated by calculating thermal radiation optical parameters including scattering, absorption, and attenuation factors. The result shows fumed silica has low attenuation factor in infrared wavelength range, only 0.00188 for infrared radiation with a wavelength of 3.14 μm. The introduction of SiC can remarkably restrain radiative heat transfer, and the maximum attenuation factor reaches up to 5.848 for infrared radiation with a wavelength of 8.646 μm. The effect of SiC particle size on thermal radiation optical parameters is also studied. The choice of SiC particle size should match up with serving temperature of this insulation. In addition, thermal conductivity measurement has been employed to verify the accuracy of calculation results. Thermal conductivity can significantly decrease from 0.119 to 0.041 W/(m K) at 773 K when 25 wt% SiC (0.877 μm) is added into the composites.

93. Study on Photocatalytic Amino Black 10B by Purifying Zinc Ferrite Doped Titanium Dioxide.

Abstract

With amino black 10B as the pollutant, the effects of the amount of catalyst added, the amount of purified zinc ferrite, the initial concentration of the solution, the initial pH of the solution, and the light time on the degradation of amino black 10B were studied. The results show that when the titanium dioxide is prepared by the sol gel method at 400 °C, the physical mixing of the titanium dioxide and purified zinc ferrite photocatalytic amino black 10B is the best. In the photocatalytic reaction, the effect of zinc ferrite content on the removal rate of amino black 10B is not obvious, and the initial concentration of the solution and the initial pH value have a great effect on the removal rate of amino black 10B. In the purified zinc ferrite/titanium dioxide composite, the removal rate of amino black 10B was the highest, and it could reach 98. 01% in 60 min of light when the purified zinc ferrite doping amount accounts for 15% of the mass. Abstract

This work investigated thermal stability of fumed silica based thermal insulating composites prepared by dry molding technology. The results showed that the composites could keep excellent thermal stability at the temperatures below 800 °C. However, when the samples were used at higher temperatures (>800 °C), the volume shrinkage increased sharply, which directly led to a serious deformation and then affected thermal insulating properties in applications. The utilization of fumed alumina could significantly improve thermal stability of the composites. When 5 wt.% fumed alumina was added, the volume shrinkage decreased from 10.49% to 3.47% at 1000 °C. The desirable results would be achieved by adjusting the amount of fumed alumina according to practical using temperature. In addition, field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were employed to characterize the microstructure and phase transformations of the composites treated at different temperatures.

Abstract

In this study the removal of sulfur and arsenic from a refractory flotation gold concentrate by microwave heating was investigated. The results showed that cooling pattern of the heated products, heating time, temperature and atmosphere had significant effect on the removal of sulfur and arsenic.
