Mites belonging to Pyemotidae family are an important cause of human dermatoses. Though their bites are painless, yet, afterwards severe itching and possible secondary infection. Most of the time mites could not be demonstrated from the lesion. We are presenting a case where mites could be seen in scrapping from a typical lesion in man.

The present investigation was conducted on the histomorphological, histo-chemical and scanning electron microscopical observation on the lymph node of Pati duck of Assam at different stages of development. Structure of the cervical and lumber lymph node of Pati duck revealed the same structure in histomorphological observation. The lymph node was surrounded by a thin connective tissue capsule. The trabeculae which were arisen from the capsule divided the lymph node into number of irregular compartments. The trabeculae became distinct with the advancement of age. The parenchymatus part of these lymph node consisted of inner cortex and outer medulla along the cortical and medullary sinuses. The cortex of lymph node was occupied by numerous follicles with different shape. These lymphoid follicles were surrounded by very thin layer of capsule. The medulla of these lymph node consisted of medullary sinuses and medullary cords. The medullary sinuses were larger compared to the cortical sinuses. The medulla was loosely arranged in week 4th of age of Pati duck whereas in week 16th, 24th and 42nd of age, it became compact. Histochemicaly, the lymphatic nodule of lymph node showed intense reaction for acid phosphatase at week 42nd of age of Pati duck whereas lymphatic nodule of lymph node showed strong reaction for adenosine tri-phosphatase. In scanning electron microscopy, the lymph node of Pati duck were surrounded by very thin capsule and it contained numerous connective fibers. The present investigation was conducted on the histomorphological, histochemical and scanning electron microscopical observation on the Bursa of Pati duck of Assam at different stages of development. The experiment was conducted from 2017 to 2019. In current study, the Bursa of Fabricius was observed at 1st week of age of Pati duck and underwent atrophy at 24th week of age. The Bursa of Fabricius was found at the dorsal aspect of the Proctodeum. The length, breadth, thickness and weight of Bursa of Fabricius showed increasing trend from 1st week to 16th week of age of Pati duck. Histological, the folds of Bursa of Fabricius contained numerous polyhedral shaped lymphoid follicles at the lamina propria and it was composed of outer cortex and inner medulla. A layer of undifferentiated epithelial cells occupied at the periphery of the medulla, which was separated from the cortex by a capillary layer. Histochemicaly, the undifferentiated epithelial cell of lymphoid follicle of Bursa of Fabricius was showing strong reaction for acid phosphatase and adenosine triphosphatase. In scanning electron microscope, the Bursal folds of Bursa of Fabricius contained lining epithelium and lymphoid follicle. This follicle contained numerous lymphocytes along with connective tissue fibers. The Bursal follicle was situated in lamina propria of Bursal folds. The present investigation was conducted on the comparative anatomical study of vagina (sperm storage organ) of Pati and Chara-Chemballi ducks during laying periods. The vagina was collected immediately after death and anatomical studies were made on it. The vagina was a narrow muscular tube, sharply curved and was tightly bound by ligament. The length, width thickness and weight of vagina of Chara-Chemballi ducks were significantly (p<0.01) higher than Pati duck. The lining epithelium consisted of pseudostratified columnar epithelial cells with few goblet cells. The mean height of lamina epithelialis mucosae of vagina of the present study was significantly (p<0.01) higher in Chara-Chemballi duck (26.508±0.298 μm) than Pati duck (23.058±0.330 μm). A weak PAS positive reaction was noticed in the lining epithelium of vagina of Pati and Chara-Chembali ducks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effect of a Commercial Herbal Growth Promoter (CHGP) with a combination of selective nine numbers of herbs on the performance of broiler chicken. A total of 120 day-old commercial broiler chicks having similar body weight from a single hatch were procured and chicks were randomly distributed into four groups viz, T0 (standard basal diet as control), T1 (basal diet + 1.0 % CHGP powder), T2 (basal diet + 2.0 % CHGP powder) and T3 (basal diet + 3.0 % CHGP powder) comprising 30 chicks in each groups. All the birds were managed under uniform managemental condition. The final body weight was significantly (P£0.01) highest in T2 (2059.83 g) followed by T3 (1956.67 g), T0 (1845.33 g) and T1 (1825.17 g). In respect of overall Feed Conversion Ratios (FCR), T2 group showed significantly (P£0.05) best FCR value of 1.69 followed by T3 (1.77), T0 (1.85) and T1 (1.87). The study revealed that there was increased body weight, improved FCR, higher BPEI, cent per cent livability and increased gross profit per broiler in birds offered 2% CHGP powder as herbal growth promoter. The genetic diversity ofAn. nivipesin north-east India was investigated by employing two mitochondrial DNA markers namely NADH dehydrogenase 5 (ND5) and cytochrome oxidase sub unit II (COII).
