The article reports on two public hearings held in Erie and Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania about a statewide civil-rights bill proposed for the GLBT community in October 2007. Representative Babette Josephs chaired the House State Government Committee that hosted the hearings in support of nondiscrimination bill that would include sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act. Discrimination in employment and housing are prohibited under the bill.
