All universities in and around the globe have senate members whose responsibility is to deliberate on matters that affect the smooth running of the university in senate meetings, such matters include, personnel, management, and student matters. Reports are generated at the end of each senate meeting on these matters and are printed on paper or stored in the system without proper grouping of the matters as a result of lack of efficient classification model. This paper proposes hybrid machine learning and deep learning models for the development of efficient classification model for textual documents and tested with reports from senate deliberations from university of Port Harcourt. The dataset for over ten years was collected and pre-processed, noise and other non-alphanumeric values removed by tokenization. Principal component analysis algorithm which is a machine learning approach was used extensively for feature selection and LSTM a deep learning architecture was used to build the model which has the capacity of retaining the content in its memory for a long time which solves the challenges of memory retention in other models. The model built depicts classification accuracy of 99% and the classification application was able to classify decisions made by the senate into different categories which will assist to eliminate conflicting decisions on the floor of any university senate.

This study aimed to explore the relationship between resilience, hope, and forgiveness and the difference between forgiveness and hope regarding sex. The result of this study with a mixed method research design precisely sequential explanatory through follow-up is to create a model that will better understand the variables being explored from a Filipino perspective. The participants of this study included 250 college students from a university and were selected through nonprobability sampling, specifically quota sampling for the quantitative part of the study, and 15 college students to answer the interview. The study used a mixed method design, specifically sequential explanatory through follow-up design. There were three instruments used in the study, namely: Herth Hope Index, Heartland Forgiveness Scale, and Wagnild and Young's Resilience Scale, and validated interview questions. The results suggest a significant relationship between hope and resilience, but there is no significant relationship between hope and forgiveness. Additionally, when compared based on sex, it was found that there is no significant difference between forgiveness and hope. In terms of thematic analysis, themes formed out of the participants' experiences in life about resilience include positivity, adaptability towards circumstances, and toughening. In terms of perception of hope by the participants, faith, desire and possibility were the themes formed. Based on the participants' responses, two types of forgiveness have been formed, which include decisional and emotional forgiveness. As a person becomes more hopeful in his or her, he or she can also be resilient in facing adversities in life. Hope can be a source of resilience. However, it is not at all times that hope can influence the likelihood of forgiving people who have offended someone. There can be other factors that can make people forgive. Hope and forgiveness do not differ in terms of sex.

The object of this research is to present IoT WSN-based smart home monitoring system, which allows users to monitor and manage all of their appliances and home equipment via the Internet using established protocols. IoT is described as the connection of equipment and appliances to the Internet in order to monitor, report, and perform certain tasks. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are considered as a key component in the IoT model's implementation. This research presented the IoT WSN platform using Riverbed Modeler Simulation Program in order to examine the network performance for different Wireless Sensor topologies (Star, Tree and Mesh). This platform consists of a number of scenarios with a number of sensors in each scenario. Each sensor is represented by the ZigBee end device, which sensed and collected data about the smart home and sent the collected data to the controller, which is represented by the ZigBee coordinator. The controller sends the data to the server to be monitored by the users through any gateway (Wi-Fi) after logging in using a specific application with three routing topologies on the controller. The results showed that IoT WSN tree topology is the best topology if the throughput is considered for improvement at the expense of data dropped with acceptable delay. Star topology improves the network performance in terms of data dropped and throughput when the number of sensors was increased. Mesh topology achieved the smallest data dropped with low throughput. Due to their features, these results were effective because they indicated that the selection of suitable routing topology played an important role in improving the degradation of IoT WSN performance due to the interference of Wi-Fi and ZigBee network since they utilized the same frequency band (2.4 GHz)., Метою даного дослідження є представлення системи моніторингу розумного будинку на базі бездротових сенсорних мереж на основі Інтернету речей, що дозволяє користувачам контролювати і управляти всіма своїми побутовими приладами та обладнанням через Інтернет за встановленими протоколами. Інтернет речей описується як підключення обладнання та побутової техніки до Інтернету з метою моніторингу, звітування та виконання певних завдань. Бездротові сенсорні мережі (БСМ) розглядаються як ключовий компонент при реалізації моделі Інтернету речей. У роботі представлена платформа БСМ ІР з використанням програми моделювання Riverbed Modeler для вивчення продуктивності мережі для різних топологій бездротових датчиків (зірка, дерево та решітка). Дана платформа складається з ряду сценаріїв з декількома датчиками в кожному сценарії. Кожен датчик представлений кінцевим пристроєм ZigBee, який зчитує та збирає дані розумного будинку та надсилає зібрані дані на контролер, що представлений координатором ZigBee. Контролер надсилає дані на сервер для моніторингу користувачами через будь-який шлюз (Wi-Fi) після входу в систему за допомогою певної програми з трьома топологіями маршрутизації на контролері. Результати показали, що деревоподібна топологія БСМ ІР є найкращою топологією, якщо розглядати можливість поліпшення пропускної здатності за рахунок втрат даних з прийнятною затримкою. Зіркоподібна топологія підвищує продуктивність мережі з точки зору втрат даних та пропускної здатності при збільшенні кількості датчиків. Решітчата топологія забезпечує найменший обсяг втрат даних за низької пропускної здатності. Завдяки своїм особливостям ці результати були ефективними, оскільки вони показали, що вибір відповідної топології маршрутизації зіграв важливу роль у поліпшенні продуктивності БСМ ІР, зниження якої спричинене перешкодами з боку мережі Wi-Fi та ZigBee, оскільки вони використовували один і той самий діапазон частот (2,4 ГГц).

In this paper, a jamming attack (a kind of Denial-of-Service attack) was investigated, which interfered with the normal operation of a Mobile Ad Hoc network, which is more vulnerable to various attacks because of its self-configuration, dynamic characteristics, therefore, jammers would affect the network QoS parameters by reducing the throughput and increasing the delay. This problem is solved in this study by enabling the Point Coordination Function, which is a media access mechanism specified by the IEEE standard in some selected MANET nodes (guard nodes) to improve the deficiency of MANET’s performance. The Riverbed modeler was utilized as a simulation tool. In this study, six jammers with two different transmission power values had been applied. In a number of different simulation scenarios with and without jammers, the estimated results showed that the jammers affected the network performance by increasing the delay to 3.0658 sec and decreasing the throughput to 120200.59 bits/sec. After enabling the PCF mechanism in a number of selected nodes, the results allowed the user to solve the problem by improving the network deficiency so that the throughput had been increased to 137478.32 bits/sec and the delay had been decreased to 0.7556 sec. It can be concluded that PCF is a good improvement for different levels of jammer transmission power such as 0.01 W and 0.001 W, and PCF also improved the network’s delay and throughput when the number of PCF enabled nodes had been increased to 10 nodes and 12 nodes, respectively. The improvement is also increased. This study can be used in practice for any ad hoc network when attacked by jammers, У даній роботі досліджено навмисні перешкоди (різновид атаки типу «відмова в обслуговуванні»), що перешкоджають нормальній роботі мобільної однорангової мережі, яка більш вразлива для різних атак через свою самоконфігурацію, динамічні характеристики. Отже, перешкоди впливатимуть на параметри якості обслуговування мережі за рахунок зниження пропускної здатності та збільшення затримки. У даному дослідженні ця проблема вирішується шляхом включення функції централізованої координації (PCF), яка являє собою механізм доступу до середовища, зазначений стандартом IEEE в деяких обраних вузлах MANET (сторожові вузли) для усунення дефектів продуктивності MANET. В якості інструменту моделювання використовувався симулятор Riverbed modeler. У дослідженні було застосовано шість передавачів перешкод з двома різними значеннями потужності передачі. У ряді різних сценаріїв моделювання з передавачами перешкод і без них розрахункові результати показали, що передавачі перешкод вплинули на продуктивність мережі, збільшивши затримку до 3,0658 с і знизивши пропускну здатність до 120200,59 біт/с. Після включення механізму PCF у низці обраних вузлів результати дозволили користувачеві вирішити задачу усунення дефектів мережі, так що пропускна здатність збільшилась до 137478,32 біт/с, а затримка знизилась до 0,7556 с. Можна зробити висновок, що PCF є хорошим рішенням для різних рівнів потужності передачі перешкод, таких як 0,01 Вт і 0,001 Вт. Також PCF дозволила покращити показники затримки та пропускної здатності мережі зі збільшенням кількості вузлів з підтримкою PCF до 10 і 12 вузлів відповідно. Дане дослідження може бути використане на практиці для будь-якої однорангової мережі при атаці за допомогою передавачів перешкод.

The COVID-19 Pandemic was pronounced as public health emergency by the World Health Organization early in March 2020. This leads academic librarians showcase different faces in rendering library services in the new normal environment. The purpose of this study was to describe the emerging roles and challenges encountered among academic librarians working in the new normal. This study employed descriptive phenomenological research design. Eleven (11) licensed academic librarians in an accredited higher education institution participated using Key Informant Interview (KII). The data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s method. The result shows that academic librarians emerging roles in this new normal environment are online programs/services administrators, research support/instructional partners, and enforcers of health and safety measures. Academic librarians encountered problems in accessibility, demands for ICT Skills in rendering online library services, difficulties on the new normal library operations, and the users' demands. The forms of support needed from fellow academic librarians and the academe, in general, are the Need for Budget Allocation, Administrators Moral Support, Support for Professional Developments, and Cooperations and Teamworks of their colleague. Ultimately, academic librarians strive to develop a sense of flexibility and enhance their adaptability to the changes due to the Pandemic. The different faces of academic librarians are labeled as reflections of what kind of an academic library an accredited higher education institution has.

This study determined the safety and Recommended Phase 2 Dose (RP2D) of the multi-kinase inhibitor cabozantinib in combination with trifluridine/tipiracil (TFT/TPI) in refractory metastatic colorectal carcinoma (mCRC). Single institution investigator-initiated phase 1 study using 3 + 3 design. Eligible mCRC patients had received prior standard regimens. Cabozantinib was given orally (p.o.) at 20 mg (dose level [DL] 0) or 40 mg (DL 1) daily on days 1–28, and FTD/TPI p.o. at 35 mg/m2 on days 1–5 and 8–12 every 28 days. Fifteen patients were enrolled. Median age 56 years (31–80), male (12/15), ECOG 0/1 = 9/6. Three patients were treated at DL 0 and another nine were treated at DL 1, none exhibiting a DLT. Most common any grade (G) treatment related adverse events (TRAE) were diarrhea (50%), nausea (42%), neutropenia (42%), fatigue (33%) and rash (25%). G3-4 TRAE were neutropenia (25%) and thrombocytopenia, hypokalemia, weight loss (each 8%). No serious TRAE or G5 were reported. The RP2D was determined to be DL 1. Median PFS was 3.8 months (95% CI 1.9–6.8) and disease control rate was 86.7%. The combination of cabozantinib and TFT/TPI is feasible and tolerable at standard doses and showed encouraging clinical activity in refractory mCRC. ClinicalTrials.Gov: NCT04868773
