Aims. The X-ray luminous and radio-loud AGN SRGE J170245.3+130104 discovered at z $\sim$ 5.5 provides unique chances to probe the SMBH growth and evolution with powerful jets in the early Universe. Methods. We present 1.35 - 5.1 GHz Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) results on the radio continuum emission and spectrum analysis for this quasar in a low flux density state. Results. This source is unresolved at three frequencies with the total flux densities of 8.35$\pm$0.09 mJy beam-1, 7.47$\pm$0.08 mJy beam-1, and 6.57$\pm$0.02 mJy beam-1 at 1.73 GHz, 2.26 GHz, and 4.87 GHz, respectively. Meanwhile, the brightness temperature is higher than 109 K. Conclusions. Compared with previous radio observations with arcsec-scale resolution, nearly all the radio emission from this source concentrates in the very central milli-arcsecond (mas) scale area. We confirm this source is a bright blazar at z > 5. As well known, magnetic fields in space are distributed very inhomogeneously. Some-times field distributions have forms of filaments with high magnetic field values. As many ob-servations show, such a filamentation takes place in convective cells in the Sun and other astro-physical objects. This effect is associated with the frozenness of the magnetic field into a medium with high conductivity that leads to compression of magnetic field lines and forming magnetic filaments. We show analytically, based on the general analysis, that the magnetic field intensifies in the regions of downward flows in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional convective cells. These regions of the hyperbolic type for magnetic fields play a role of a specific attractor. This analysis was confirmed by numerical simulations for 2D convective cells of the roll-type. Without dissipation the magnetic field grows exponentially in time and does not depend on the aspect ratio between horizontal and vertical scale of the cell. An increase due to compression in the magnetic field in the high conductive plasma is saturated due to the natural limitation associated with dissipative effects when the maximum magnitude of the magnetic field is of the order of the root of the magnetic Reynolds number Rem. For the solar convective zone the mean kinetic energy density exceeds mean magnetic energy density at least for two orders of magnitude that allows one to use the kinematic approximation for the MHD induction equation. In this paper based on the stability analysis we explain why downward flows influence magnetic filaments from making them more flat with orientation along interfaces between convective cells.

It is well-known that a formal deformation of a commutative algebra ${\mathcal A}$ leads to a Poisson bracket on ${\mathcal A}$ and that the classical limit of a derivation on the deformation leads to a derivation on ${\mathcal A}$, which is Hamiltonian with respect to the Poisson bracket. In this paper we present a generalisation of it for formal deformations of an arbitrary noncommutative algebra ${\mathcal A}$. The deformation leads in this case to a Poisson algebra structure on $\Pi({\mathcal A}):=Z({\mathcal A})\times({\mathcal A}/Z({\mathcal A}))$ and to the structure of a $\Pi({\mathcal A})$-Poisson module on ${\mathcal A}$. The limiting derivations are then still derivations of ${\mathcal A}$, but with the Hamiltonian belong to $\Pi({\mathcal A})$, rather than to ${\mathcal A}$. We illustrate our construction with several cases of formal deformations, coming from known quantum algebras, such as the ones associated with the nonabelian Volterra chains, Kontsevich integrable map, the quantum plane and the quantised Grassmann algebra.

A method was developed for measuring photonuclear reactions concurrently at several discrete photon beam energies on a stack of different target materials via a single irradiation. Concentric ring targets of the materials (in order from front to back targets: Au, TiO$_2$, Zn, Os, and Au) were irradiated at the High Intensity Gamma-ray Source (HI$\gamma$S). As a proof of principle, we report the result of the cross section measurements from the front Au target. The excitation functions of the $^{197}$Au($\gamma$,n)$^{196}$Au and $^{197}$Au($\gamma$,3n)$^{194}$Au reactions were determined in the incident photon energy range of 13-31 MeV using quasi-monoenergetic photon beams provided at HI$\gamma$S. The cross sections of the combined ground state (2$^{-}$) and short-lived first isomeric state (m1, 5$^{+}$), and of the second isomeric state (m2, 12$^{-}$) in the $^{196}$Au production are obtained separately by subtracting the $\gamma$ rays from the internal conversion of the second isomeric state. The excitation function of the second isomeric state via the photon-induced reaction $^{197}$Au($\gamma$,n)$^{196m2}$Au was measured for the first time. By using the activation method rather than direct neutron counting, the exclusive cross sections for the ($\gamma$,n) and ($\gamma$,3n) reactions were determined. Comparing the yields from the front and back gold targets validates our ability to simulate the effect of photon scattering in the target stack and provides a method for assessing the systematic uncertainty of our technique.

We consider evolution (non-stationary) space-periodic solutions to the $n$-dimensional non-linear Navier-Stokes equations of anisotropic fluids with the viscosity coefficient tensor variable in space and time and satisfying the relaxed ellipticity condition. We report on dynamic Shubnikov - de Haas (SdH) oscillations that are measured in the optical response, sub - terahertz transmittance of two-dimensional systems, and reveal two distinct types of oscillation nodes: "universal" nodes at integer ratios of radiation and cyclotron frequencies and "tunable" nodes at positions sensitive to all parameters of the structure. The nodes in both real and imaginary parts of the measured complex transmittance are analyzed using a dynamic version of the static Lifshitz-Kosevich formula. These results demonstrate that the node structure of the dynamic SdH oscillations provides an all-optical access to quantization- and interaction-induced renormalization effects, in addition to parameters one can obtain from the static SdH oscillations., Comment: Main text plus supplemental information

Study of high-redshift radio galaxies (HzRGs) can shed light on the active galactic nuclei (AGNs) evolution in massive elliptical galaxies. The vast majority of observed high-redshift AGNs are quasars, and there are very few radio galaxies at redshifts $z>3$. We present the radio properties of 173 sources optically identified with radio galaxies at $z\geqslant1$ with flux densities $S_{1.4}\geqslant20$ mJy. Literature data were collected for compilation of broadband radio spectra, estimation of radio variability, radio luminosity, and radio loudness. Almost 60% of the galaxies have steep or ultra-steep radio spectra; 22% have flat, inverted, upturn, and complex spectral shapes, and 18% have peaked spectra (PS). The majority of the PS sources in the sample (20/31) are megahertz-peaked spectrum sources candidates, i.e. possibly very young and compact radio galaxies. The median values of the variability indices at 11 and 5 GHz are $V_{S_{11}}=0.14$ and $V_{S_{5}}=0.13$, which generally indicates a weak or moderate character of the long-term variability of the studied galaxies. The typical radio luminosity and radio loudness are $L_{5}=10^{43}$ - $10^{44}$ erg*s$^{-1}$ and $\log R=3$ - $4$ respectively. We have found less prominent features of the bright compact radio cores for our sample compared to high-redshift quasars at $z\geq3$. The variety of the obtained radio properties shows the different conditions for the formation of radio emission sources in galaxies.

The evaluation of Natural Language Generation (NLG) models has gained increased attention, urging the development of metrics that evaluate various aspects of generated text. LUNA addresses this challenge by introducing a unified interface for 20 NLG evaluation metrics. These metrics are categorized based on their reference-dependence and the type of text representation they employ, from string-based n-gram overlap to the utilization of static embeddings and pre-trained language models. The straightforward design of LUNA allows for easy extension with novel metrics, requiring just a few lines of code. LUNA offers a user-friendly tool for evaluating generated texts.

We present an optical-to-radio study of the BL Lac object S4 0954+658 observations during 1998-2023. The measurements were obtained with the SAO RAS Zeiss-1000 1-m and AS-500/2 0.5-m telescopes in 2003-2023, with the RATAN-600 radio telescope at 1.25 (0.96, 1.1), 2.3, 4.7 (3.7, 3.9), 8.2 (7.7), 11.2, 22.3 (21.7) GHz in 1998-2023, with the IAA RAS RT-32 Zelenchukskaya and Badary telescopes at 5.05 and 8.63 GHz in 2020--2023, and with the RT-22 single-dish telescope of CrAO RAS at 36.8 GHz in 2009-2023. In this period the blazar had been showing extremely high broadband activity with the variability amplitude of flux densities up to 70-100% both in the optical and radio domains. In the period of 2014-2023 the blazar had been showing the historically highest activity in the radio wavelengths, and we detected multiple radio flares of varying amplitude and duration. The large flares last on average from 0.3 to 1 year at 22-36.8 GHz and slightly longer at 5-11.2 GHz. The optical flares are shorter and last 7-50 days. In the most active epoch of 2018-2023 the characteristic time scale $\tau$ of variation at 5-22 GHz is about 100 days and about 1000 days for the state with lower activity in 2009-2014. We found a general correlation between the optical, radio, and $\gamma$-ray flux variations, which suggests that we observe the same photon population from different emission regions. We estimated linear size of this region as 0.5-2 pc for different epochs. A broadband two components radio spectrum of S4 0954+658 jet was modelled by using both electrons and protons as emitting particles. In this study, we investigate the conductivity of a two-dimensional (2D) system in HgTe quantum well comprising two types of carriers with linear and quadratic spectra, respectively. The interactions between the two-dimensional Dirac holes and the heavy holes lead to the breakdown of Galilean invariance, resulting in interaction-limited resistivity. Our exploration of the transport properties spans from low temperatures, where both subsystems are fully degenerate, to higher temperatures, where the Dirac holes remain degenerate while the heavy holes follow Boltzmann statistics, creating a partially degenerate regime. Through a developed theory, we successfully predict the behavior of resistivity as $\rho\sim T^2$ and $\rho\sim T^{3}$ for the fully degenerate and partially degenerate regimes, respectively, which is in reasonable agreement with experimental observations. Notably, at elevated temperatures, the interaction-limited resistivity surpasses the resistivity caused by impurity scattering by a factor of 5-6. These findings imply that the investigated system serves as a versatile experimental platform for exploring various interaction-limited transport regimes in two component plasma., Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures

New results are presented on a high-statistics measurement of Collins and Sivers asymmetries of charged hadrons produced in deep inelastic scattering of muons on a transversely polarised $^6$LiD target. The data were taken in 2022 with the COMPASS spectrometer using the 160 \gevv\ muon beam at CERN, balancing the existing data on transversely polarised proton targets. The first results from about two-thirds of the new data have total uncertainties smaller by up to a factor of three compared to the previous deuteron measurements. Using all the COMPASS proton and deuteron results, both the transversity and the Sivers distribution functions of the $u$ and $d$ quark, as well as the tensor charge in the measured $x$-range are extracted. In particular, the accuracy of the $d$ quark results is significantly improved.

The COMPASS Collaboration performed measurements of the Drell-Yan process in 2015 and 2018 using a 190 GeV/c $\pi^{-}$ beam impinging on a transversely polarised ammonia target. Combining the data of both years, we present final results on the amplitudes of the five azimuthal modulations in the dimuon production cross section. Three of these transverse-spin-dependent azimuthal asymmetries (TSAs) probe the nucleon leading-twist Sivers, transversity, and pretzelosity transverse-momentum dependent (TMD) parton distribution functions (PDFs). The other two are induced by subleading effects. These TSAs provide unique new inputs for the study of the nucleon TMD PDFs and their universality properties. In particular, the Sivers TSA observed in this measurement is consistent with the fundamental QCD prediction of a sign change of naive time-reversal-odd TMD PDFs when comparing the Drell-Yan process with semi-inclusive measurements of deep inelastic scattering. Also, within the context of model predictions, the observed transversity TSA is consistent with the expectation of a sign change for the Boer-Mulders function.

Effective control of terahertz radiation requires the development of efficient and fast modulators with a large modulation depth. This challenge is often tackled by using metamaterials, artificial sub-wavelength optical structures engineered to resonate at the desired terahertz frequency. Metamaterial-based devices exploiting graphene as the active tuneable element have been proven to be a highly effective solution for THz modulation. However, whilst the graphene conductivity can be tuned over a wide range, it cannot be reduced to zero due to the gapless nature of graphene, which directly limits the maximum achievable modulation depth for single-layer metamaterial modulators. Here, we demonstrate two novel solutions to circumvent this restriction: Firstly, we excite the modulator from the back of the substrate, and secondly, we incorporate air gaps into the graphene patches. This results in a ground-breaking graphene-metal metamaterial terahertz modulator, operating at 2.0-2.5 THz, which demonstrates a 99.01 % amplitude and a 99.99 % intensity modulation depth at 2.15 THz, with a reconfiguration speed in excess of 3 MHz. This paper builds upon our recent work, published in Lett. Math. Phys., 112: 94, 2022, where we established that the integrable Volterra lattice on a free associative algebra and the whole hierarchy of its symmetries admits a quantisation dependent on a parameter $\omega$. We also uncovered an intriguing aspect: all odd-degree symmetries of the hierarchy admits an alternative, non-deformation quantisation, resulting in a non-commutative algebra for any choice of the quantisation parameter $\omega$. In this study, we demonstrate that each equation within the quantum Volterra hierarchy can be expressed in the Heisenberg form. We provide explicit expressions for all quantum Hamiltonians and establish their commutativity. In the classical limit, these quantum Hamiltonians yield explicit expressions for the classical ones of the commutative Volterra hierarchy. Furthermore, we present Heisenberg equations and their Hamiltonians in the case of non-deformation quantisation. Finally, we discuss commuting first integrals, central elements of the quantum algebra, and the integrability problem for periodic reductions of the Volterra lattice in the context of both quantisations.

Linearized solutions of SUGRA equations of motion are described in the pure spinor formalism by vertex operators. Under supersymmetry transformations, they transform covariantly only up to BRST exact terms. We identify the cohomology class which is the obstacle for exact covariance. The sensitivity of electric field sensors based on two-photon electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) involving highly excited Rydberg states in thermal atoms is often limited by the residual Doppler effect and optical power broadening. Here, we propose a method to reduce the EIT spectral linewidth using a Ramsey interrogation approach, allowing multiple interrogations of atomic coherence, using either temporally or spatially separated laser beams. Our theoretical calculations predict that the linewidth of such Raman-Ramsey spectral features can be substantially reduced compare to a standard Doppler-broadened EIT, opening a possibility to improved sensitivity of Rydberg atomic vapor-based sensors. We also discuss some preliminary experimental efforts toward observing Raman-Ramsey resonances for both spatially and temporally separated interrogation approaches and associated technical challenges.

An experimental study of Landau levels (LLs) in a system of two-dimensional massless Dirac fermions based on a critical thickness HgTe quantum well has been carried out. The magnetotransport and the capacitive response have been investigated simultaneously. It is shown that the formation of Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) oscillations associated with odd v filling factors occurs in a magnetic field whose strength grows monotonically with v. This behavior is consistent with calculations of the electron spectrum, which predicts a decrease in cyclotron gaps with increasing v. Oscillations with even filling factors, corresponding to spin gaps, behave less trivially. First, the SdH oscillations with filling factors of 4 and higher are resolved in a magnetic field that is 2-2.5 times smaller than the field required to resolve neighboring SdH oscillations with odd filling factors of 3 and higher. This indicates a significant increase in the size of the spin gap caused by an interface inversion asymmetry (IIA) leading to Dirac cone splitting in a zero magnetic field. Using the spin splitting value gamma as a fitting parameter, we obtained the best agreement between experimental data and calculations at gamma=1.5 meV. Next, spin splitting for the zeroth and first LLs is observed in 2-3 times stronger magnetic fields than for the other levels, indicating an increase in disorder near the Dirac point, due to the lack of screening., Comment: 4 figures

The cross section of the process $e^+e^-\to\pi^+\pi^-$ has been measured in the center-of-mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on an integrated luminosity of about 88 pb$^{-1}$, of which 62 pb$^{-1}$ represent a complete dataset collected by CMD-3 at center-of-mass energies below 1 GeV. In the dominant region near the $\rho$ resonance a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% was achieved. The implications of the presented results for the evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon are discussed., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures; as published in Phys. Transformer language models (LMs) are fundamental to NLP research methodologies and applications in various languages. However, developing such models specifically for the Russian language has received little attention. This paper introduces a collection of 13 Russian Transformer LMs, which spans encoder (ruBERT, ruRoBERTa, ruELECTRA), decoder (ruGPT-3), and encoder-decoder (ruT5, FRED-T5) architectures. We provide a report on the model architecture design and pretraining, and the results of evaluating their generalization abilities on Russian language understanding and generation datasets and benchmarks. By pretraining and releasing these specialized Transformer LMs, we aim to broaden the scope of the NLP research directions and enable the development of industrial solutions for the Russian language., Comment: LREC-COLING-2024
