This paper presents the use of a three-phase four-wire shunt active power filter to improve the power quality in the Department of Industrial Electronics of a large enterprise from Romania. The specificity is given by the predominant existence of single-phase consumers (such as personal computers, printers, lighting and AC equipment). In order to identify the power quality indicators and ways to improve them, an A-class analyzer was used to record the electrical quantities and energy parameters in the point of common coupling (PCC) with the nonlinear loads for 27 h. The analysis shows that, in order to improve the power quality in PCC, three goals must be achieved: the compensation of the distortion power, the compensation of the reactive power and the compensation of the load unbalance. By using the conceived three-leg shunt active power filter, controlled through the indirect current control method in an original variant, the power quality at the supply side is very much improved. In the proposed control algorithm, the prescribed active current is obtained as a sum of the loss current provided by the DC voltage and the equivalent active current of the unbalanced load. The performance associated with each objective of the compensation is presented and analyzed. The parameter inconsistency of the battery cells and the series-parallel connection mode are closely related to the battery pack capacity. Studying the degree of influence of battery pack capacity by battery cell parameters is of great significance to the series-parallel design of battery packs. This paper establishes battery cell models and battery pack models with different topologies. In the MATLAB/Simulink environment, simulation studies were conducted to study the influence of the battery pack capacity by the monomer parameters as the number of cells in series and parallel in the topology changes. Then, from a statistical point of view, the simulation results were analyzed in principle. Finally, a small-scale battery pack experimental platform was built in the laboratory environment to verify the correctness of the simulation conclusions and theoretical analysis. While frequency response analysis (FRA) is a well matured technique widely used by current industry practice to detect the mechanical integrity of power transformers, interpretation of FRA signatures is still challenging, regardless of the research efforts in this area. This paper presents a method for reliable quantitative and qualitative analysis to the transformer FRA signatures based on a decision tree classification model and a fully connected neural network. Several levels of different six fault types are obtained using a lumped parameter-based transformer model. Results show that the proposed model performs well in the training and the validation stages, and is of good generalization ability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
