This article aims to analyze the implementation of a housing policy in the Marine Extractive Reserve Caeté-Taperaçu (REMCT), located in the municipality of Bragança, in the state of Pará, which allows us to observe how the precariousness of housing constructions can increase inequalities and result in developments that affect the quality of life. The Housing Credit was responsible for the construction of housing for REMCT residents from 2005 to 2013. Although it took a considerable period of time for its implementation, the public policy was not able to reach even 30% of the total number of people who were registered. Added to this are the complaints of RESEX residents about the precariousness of housing construction, without taking into account the labor and environmental needs required by the territory, mostly occupied by marine extractivists. Another reverse factor was the interruption of resources destined to INCRA, the financing body of Housing Credit, deepening the deficit in living conditions. For this qualitative analysis, a bibliographic survey was carried out on Marine Extractive Reserves, public policies, housing policies and inequality and the Amazon; semi-structured interviews were carried out with residents of the Resex; and data collection on official websites and platforms. From the results, we realize that the housing policy has an ambiguous character, on the one hand, it has produced material satisfaction among its owners, but also, by not reaching all the needy, it can contribute to the intensification of inequalities. Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la implementación de una política habitacional en la Reserva Extractiva Marina Caeté-Taperaçu (REMCT), ubicada en el municipio de Bragança, en el estado de Pará, que permite observar cómo la precariedad de las construcciones habitacionales puede aumentan las desigualdades y resultan en desarrollos que afectan la calidad de vida. El Crédito Habitacional se encargó de la construcción de viviendas para los residentes de los REMCT desde 2005 hasta 2013. Aunque tomó un tiempo considerable para su implementación, la política pública no logró llegar ni al 30% del total de personas registradas. A esto se suman las denuncias de los vecinos de la RESEX sobre la precariedad en la construcción de viviendas, sin tomar en cuenta las necesidades laborales y ambientales que demanda el territorio, en su mayoría ocupado por extractivistas marinos. Otro factor inverso fue la interrupción de los recursos destinados al INCRA, el organismo financiador del Crédito a la Vivienda, profundizando el déficit en las condiciones de vida. Para este análisis cualitativo se realizó un levantamiento bibliográfico sobre Reservas extractivas marinas, políticas públicas, políticas de vivienda y desigualdad y la Amazonía; se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a vecinos de la Resex; y recopilación de datos en sitios web y plataformas oficiales. De los resultados se desprende que la política de vivienda tiene un carácter ambiguo, por un lado ha producido satisfacción material entre sus propietarios, pero también, al no llegar a todos los necesitados, puede contribuir a la intensificación de las desigualdades. Para esta análise de cunho qualitativo, efetuou-se levantamento bibliográfico sobre Reservas Extrativistas Marinha, políticas públicas, políticas habitacionais e desigualdade e Amazônia; foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com moradores da Resex; e levantamento de dados em sites e plataformas oficiais. A partir dos resultados, percebemos que a política habitacional possui caráter ambíguo, por um lado, tem produzido satisfação material entre seus proprietários, mas também, por não alcançar a todos os necessitados, pode vir a contribuir para o acirramento de desigualdades.

Este artigo se debruça sobre a análise da aula do professor Luiz Pazzini realizada no Programa de Pós-graduação em Artes Cênicas PPGAC/UFMA em outubro de 2019. A metodologia se baseia na análise dos textos, no jogo teatral com os elementos cênicos e na proposta pedagógica da aula. A fundamentação teórica está pautada nas bibliográficas de Flávio Desgranges (2015) e Viviane Juguero (2016). Tais escritos compõe parcialmente a minha pesquisa de mestrado.

Several authors have pointed out valorization of food wastes and by-products as a solution to improve the economic and environmental sustainability of the food production chain. Numerous valorization schemes have been proposed to explore food wastes and by-products as biomass suppliers to obtain different bio-based products. Among them, integrated value chains have been identified as one of the most promising pathways to achieve the zero-waste goal and accelerate the transition of the food industry to a circular bioeconomy. This chapter applies a mixed-method review methodology to identify the main food waste and by-product streams and to recognize the most promising value-added uses and integrated valorization approaches developed to date for the application of food wastes and by-products. The proposal of new valorization schemes and the indication of the main challenges that need to be addressed to guarantee their implementation in the food industry are also pointed out.

Assistimos atualmente a um consenso alargado relativamente ao papel da Administração Local no quadro do desenvolvimento económico do nosso País. É igualmente consensual a ideia de que a inovação e o conhecimento se tornaram fatores catalisadores de um crescimento sustentado. O investimento em Sistemas de Informação/Tecnologias de Informação (SI/TI) tem um peso considerável nos orçamentos das organizações. Porém, os projetos de SI/TI continuam a evidenciar elevadas taxas de insucesso, o que é revelador de uma contradição. A Administração Pública (AP) procura alavancar os benefícios dos investimentos em SI/TI de forma a melhorar a sua capacidade de resposta. Para a concretização da estratégia é fundamental deter um nível de conhecimento que facilite a adoção de uma abordagem capaz de aumentar do sucesso em investimento em TI. Para o efeito, foi desenvolvido um estudo de caso numa unidade de análise - Junta de Freguesia – com o objetivo fundamental de identificar o estado da arte da organização, e definir um percurso capaz de dotá-la de um SI adequado às necessidades de negócio. Um roadmap capaz de transformar o modelo atual de funcionamento dos SI assente num conjunto de práticas, processos e tecnologias que permitam gerir a sua atividade de uma forma mais sustentada, capitalizando toda a informação produzida e transitada na organização e criando ainda continuamente melhores condições na tramitação da informação e no suporte à decisão tática e estratégica. Esse deverá ser o verdadeiro contributo dos investimentos em SI/TI na prestação de serviços aos cidadãos e no desempenho das organizações públicas.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is a pathogenic virus with high transmissibility and infectivity, which began to spread across the globe in late 2019, which soon became the COVID-19 pandemic, causing social and economic impacts. In response to this situation, the scientific community started the development of effective substances against this virus. Bioactive molecules present in plants, mainly phenolic compounds, are promising altematives to combat pathological disorders. Therefore, the objective of this work was to use the aqueous extract of a mountain plant as an antiviral substance to neutralize COVID-19. MaterialslMethods: The mountain plant extract was obtained by dynamic maceration in water for I hour (twice). Afier obtaining the extracts, they were evaluated for their phenolic profile by high performance líquid chromatography coupIed to a diode array detector and a mass spectrometer detector (HPLC-DAD-MS). Cytotoxicíty was determined by the sulphorhodamine B assay in Vero cells, as well as the evaluation ofthe antivíral activity. Results: Regarding the phenolic profile, the main compounds found were trigalloyl-HHDPglucoside; pentagalloyl glucose, quercetin 3-0-glucuronide and quercetin O-hexoside. The GI50 (concentration able to inhibit 50% of cell proliferation) and the MNCC (maximum concentration without toxicity) were between 100 and 180.3 J.lg/rnL and between 85 and 120 J.lg/rnL, respectively. The MNCC value was obtained considering the concentration that allowed 90% of celI proliferation of Vero cells. In relation to the viral activity screening, the results achieved for the viral titre were between 5000 and 9000 PFU/rnL, while for the antiviral activity ranged between 0.5 and 3.0 Mv, being the percentage ofreduction in a range of85-95 %. • Conclusion: The mountain plant extracts showed in its composition bioactive compounds and consistent results of antiviral activity. Moreover, it presents itself as a potential substance for protection applications against the COVID-19 virus. However, further studies in specific products are required for validation and implementation. The novel disease caused by SARS·CoV-2 has been causing chaos worldwide due to its high mortality, morbidity and contagiousness nature, and therefore forced the scientific world to develop n'ew alternatives to combat and assist the fight against this virus. Plant extracts have bioactive molecules that might provide a starting point for the research on the use of plants as an excellent source ofoew antiviral agents able to inhibit or neutralize COVID-19. Therefore, the objective ofthis study was to obtain an extract !Tom a Plaot cultivated under controlled conditions in Portugal to be used as ao antiviral substance to be applied against COVID-19. MaterialslMethods: The plant extract obtained !Tom plant cultivated under controlled conditions in Portugal was extracted by maceration in a hydroethanolic solution under optimized conditions and submitted to freeze drying. The extracts were evaluated for their phenolic profile by high performance liquid chromatography coupled to a diode array detector and a mass spectrometer detector (HPLCDAD- MS). Antioxidant activity was also measured, and antiviral properties were measured for SARSCoV- 2 in Vero cells. Remlts. HPLC analysis revealed the presence of different phenolic compounds in the extracts with relevance for caftaric acid, cis-chicoric acid and trans-chychoric acid. The extract showed a good antioxidant capacity demonstrated by the high value found for aRAC of3202,82 ± 32,52 Troloxlmg extrac!. Regarding the antiviral activity, the results achieved for the viral titer was 20 PFU/mL, and the antiviral activity for SARS-CoV-2 was 4.02 ± 0.00 Mv and the perceotage ofreduction was > 99.99%. Conclusion: The results showed that the obtained extract demonstrated consistent results of antiviral activity presenting a potential for applications against the SARS-CoV-2. Further studies are required for validation and application of this extract. Olive pomace is a semisolid by-product with a great potential as a source of bioactive compounds. Using its soluble fraction, a liquid-enriched powder (LOPP) was obtained, exhibiting a rich composition in sugars, polyphenols and minerals, with potential antioxidant, antihypertensive and antidiabetic health benefits. To validate LOPP potential as a functional ingredient the effect of the gastrointestinal tract on its bioactive composition and bioactivities was examined. Polyphenols and minerals were the most affected compounds, however, a significant bioaccessibility of potassium and hydroxytyrosol was verified (> 57 %). As a consequence, the LOPP bioactivities were only moderately affected (losses around 50%). For example, 57.82 ± 1.27 % of the recovered antioxidant activity by ORAC was serum - available. From an initial a-glucosidase inhibition activity of 87.11 ± 1.04 %, at least 50% of the initial potential was kept (43.82 ± 1.14 %). Regarding initial ACE inhibitory activity (91.98 ± 3.24 %), after gastrointestinal tract losses, significant antihypertensive activity was retained in the serum-available fraction (43.4 ± 3.65 %). The colon-available fraction also exhibited an abundant composition in phenolics and minerals. LOPP showed to be a potential functional ingredient not only with potential benefits in preventing cardiovascular diseases but also in gut health.

For centuries, learning and entertainment were supported by the manipulation of physical objects. The Tangible User Interfaces (TUI), which interaction is based in manipulation of physical objects, despite showing significant technological challenges and conceptual difficulties in terms of interaction design (Shaer, 2010), promote participation and manipulation by users, creating new opportunities and new interaction environments. (Ishii & Ullmer, 1997, 2001).The artifact described in this document was developed in the form of a functional prototype. It is a card reader who combines elements of the physical world with virtual objects synthesized by built-in digital technology. The user is invited to put a card in the object’s slot, giving rise to a three-dimensional animation. Through a viewfinder it is possible to see the trading card - the physical and real element - and the corresponding animation - the virtual element. The latter, in turn, is directly related to the topic of the printed content in the inserted card, extending its meaning through its presentation., Durante séculos, a aprendizagem e o entretenimento foram suportados pela manipulação de objetos físicos. Os Tangible User Interfaces (TUI), cuja interação é baseada na manipulação de artefatos físicos, apesar de apresentarem importantes desafios tecnológicos e dificuldades conceptuais ao nível do design de interação (Shaer, 2009), encorajam a participação e a manipulação por parte dos utilizadores criando novas oportunidades e ambientes de interação (Ishii & Ullmer, 1997; Ullmer & Ishii, 2000).O objeto aqui descrito, desenvolvido sob a forma de um protótipo funcional, combina elementos do mundo físico com objetos virtuais sintetizados por via de tecnologia digital incorporada. O utilizador é convidado a colocar uma carta na ranhura do objeto, fazendo surgir uma animação tridimensional. Através de um visor é possível ver a carta - o elemento físico e real - bem como a animação correspondente - o elemento virtual. Este último, por sua vez, está diretamente relacionado com o tema do conteúdo impresso na carta, estendendo o seu significado através da sua apresentação.

Fruit dehydration is a key option for food preservation, in order to increase shelf life and promote exportation. Numerous methods of dehydration have been developed in recent decades. The aim of the present work is to perform an assessment of the dehydration methods used more frequently with apple fruit, and subsequently, compare them as to the conditions of operation (temperature, speed of drying and drying time) and energy aspects (energy requirement and energetic efficiency). The comparative analysis shows that drying with microwave associated with a second method of drying has greater benefits in terms of quality of the final product. In addition, using the two methods it is possible to overcome the limitations of each one used individually. The microwave drying and microwave drying combined with vacuum present the lowest drying times, 0.87-h and 0.28-h, respectively, as opposed to traditional techniques (sun drying and solar drying). In terms of energy efficiency, it was found that among the methods analysed the higher rates were observed for the fluidized bed dryer (28.0-64.0%), microwave drying (79.0%) and drying by infrared radiation (30.0-60.0%). The infrared drying method appears to be the most efficient, presenting lower costs and providing greater benefits in terms of drying times, energy efficiency and, organoleptic and nutritional characteristics of the final product., A desidratação de frutos é uma opção chave para a conservação alimentar, permitindo aumentar o tempo de conservação e promovendo a exportação. Inúmeros métodos de desidratação foram desenvolvidos nas últimas décadas. O presente artigo tem como principal objetivo realizar uma avaliação técnica relativamente aos métodos mais utilizados na desidratação de frutos. Visa ainda comparar os métodos entre si quanto às condições de operação (temperatura, velocidade de secagem e tempo de secagem) e aspetos energéticos (requisito energético e eficiência energética). Da análise comparativa verificou-se que a secagem por microondas associada a outro método de secagem apresenta maiores benefícios em termos de qualidade do produto final superando-se as limitações de cada um. A secagem por microondas e a secagem por microondas combinado com vácuo são as técnicas que possuem os menores tempos de secagem, 0,87-h e 0,28-h, respetivamente, ao invés das técnicas tradicionais (secagem ao sol e secagem solar). De entre os métodos analisados constatou-se que os que possuem maiores taxas de eficiência energética são o secador de leito fluidizado (28,0-64,0%), secagem por microondas (79,0%), secagem por radiação infravermelha (30,0-60,0%). A secagem por infravermelhos revelou ser a técnica com menores custos, apresentando maiores vantagens ao nível de tempos de secagem, eficiência energética e características organoléticas e nutricionais no produto final.

Nonconforming apple, considered as a by-product in fruit production, is discarded due to its low calibre, presence of stains and deformations, among others. These apples do not match commercialization standards when sold as fresh fruit. However, due to their outstanding organoleptic characteristics, nonconforming apples should not be discarded, but instead considered as an added value product. The agro-alimentary processing of these fruits consists of a valuable alternative for taking advantage of these otherwise wasted food, in which dehydration methods have emerged as high profile options. The dehydration technique presents innumerous advantages, including an increase in shelf life and a reduction in product size, facilitating therefore its transport and storage. In this paper, a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is performed to analyse the environmental impact of the nonconforming apple disposal system, considering two scenarios: nonconforming apple sold to retail (C1) and subjected to a dehydration process in order to obtain snacks (C2). The evaluation of various parameters of environmental impact has shown that dehydration consists an excellent alternative method for the recovery and reuse of nonconforming apple. This scenario is translated by a less impact of the transport and storage phases on the different environmental parameters., As maçãs de refugo, consideradas como um subproduto frutícola, são descartadas devido ao seu calibre reduzido, manchas, deformações, entre outros. Estas frutas não correspondem aos padrões necessários para serem comercializadas no estado fresco. Contudo, devido às suas ótimas características organoléticas não deveriam ser desperdiçadas, mas sim consideradas pelo seu potencial valor acrescentado. O processamento agroalimentar desta fruta apresenta-se como uma ótima alternativa de aproveitamento, e de entre os vários processos a desidratação tem sido destacada. A desidratação apresenta inúmeras vantagens como maior tempo de prateleira e menor volume de produto, facilitando o seu transporte e armazenamento. Neste artigo é aplicada a metodologia de ACV para avaliar os impactos ambientais do sistema de escoamento do refugo, em que são considerados dois cenários: a maçã de refugo vendida ao retalho (C1) e a maçã de refugo submetida ao processo de desidratação para a obtenção de snacks (C2). A avaliação de várias categorias de impactos ambientais demonstrou que a desidratação se apresenta como uma excelente alternativa de valorização e aproveitamento da maçã de refugo. Este cenário evidenciou-se pelo menor contributo em termos de impacto ambiental das fases de transporte e armazenamento.

Videojogos is an annual conference on videogame sciences and arts, promoted by the Portuguese Society of Video Games Sciences (SPCV). Since its first edition, in 2009, the conference has been promoting the scientific gathering of researchers and professionals in the expanded field of videogames. As in the first edition, Aveiro once again holds the conference. The 11th Conference on Videogame Sciences and Arts – Videojogos 2019 takes place in the University of Aveiro, Portugal, during November 27-29. The event is co-organized by the Department of Communication and Art of the University of Aveiro (DeCA), DeCA’s DigiMedia Research Center and the Portuguese Society of Video Games Sciences (SPCV). This year, 10 years after the first conference, SPCV and the co-organizers decided to convert the conference into a full international event, with English as a working language. As one of the outcomes of this decision, the proceedings of Videojogos 2019 will be published by Springer in their “Communications in Computer and Information Science” (CCIS) book series, part of a post-conference volume with the number 1164. This Book of Abstracts is more than a shortened version of the proceedings. Besides abstracts from the 20 selected papers that will be published in the book series, it contains abstracts from the research posters (8) and videogame demos (9) accepted for the conference, as well synopsis for other activities held at the conference such as keynotes (2) and workshops (3). Thanks to UA Editora, we were able to present this book in time for the conference, providing an overview into the diversity of contributions gathered in the videogame context. We would like to thank the scientific board for their contribution to guarantee and deliver the highest scientific quality, allowing the outstanding relevance of this selection. We also would like to thank the program chairs (demo, poster and workshops) and the organization team for all their concerns and efforts in the organization, an extremely important contribution for the overall success of the Videojogos 2019 Conference.
