The data obtained through this work revealed that the vermicompost is a natural adsorbent able to removal two textile dyes from an aqueous medium. The values of maximum adsorption capacity for congo red (23.25 mg/g) and indigo blue (40.39 mg/g) obtained from the Mathematical Langmuir Model reveal it. The conditions of adsorbent mass, stirring time between adsorbent and dyes were optimized. Additionally, the values of Gibbs free energy demonstrate the predominance of physical interaction between both dyes and vermicompost. Through Langmuir constant values, it was possible to identify similar affinities between both dyes and vermicompost. The value of dimensionless constant indicates favorable adsorptions process. Finally, through physicochemical analysis from scanning electron microscopy and Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy, the characteristics of vermicompost were verified revealing essential aspects to efficient adsorbent.

In this work, a Ti–29Nb–13Ta–4.6Zr–xO Gum Metal with two significantly different oxygen levels (388 and 3570 ppm) was investigated during deformation. The alloys were compressed during in situ high-energy X-ray diffraction using three different strain rates, 10−4, 10−3, and 10−1 s−1, in order to evaluate their influence on phase stability and mechanical properties. The influence of oxygen on the deformation process was also studied. Deformation takes place by twinning, stress-induced, and reverse martensitic transformation and was observed, for some samples, a spinodal decomposition of the β-phase during elastic deformation. The mechanical properties were similar for the different rates employed when considering the same oxygen level. The alloy with a higher amount of oxygen, however, showed a substantial increase in mechanical strength, with a yield strength of around 680 MPa, which is more than three times higher than for the specimen with 388 ppm of oxygen.

54. SAPA: Gamification strategy against cognitive frailty

The SAPA game is part of a project called frAAgiLe (fraagile.eu) aimed at mitigating frailty, specially in its pre-frail stage. This game is easy to use and to access for everybody with a tablet and internet connection, which means that many more citizens will become active parts of the health system in an autonomous and self-responsible way to prevent their frailty status from worsening. SAPA also works with addressing health determinants, as cognitive frailty is a syndrome whose main relevance comes from the fact that it evolves into many health complications, that lead to loss of autonomy. SAPA game has different activities aimed at training multiple areas of cognitive frailty. The objective is to reach the exit door. He/she shall avoid several obstacles and collect the stars and the key. The different activities in the game work with abilities that are relevant to fight frailty, namely:MemorySpatial orientationAttentionExecutive functions (planifying)Prospective memorySelective attentionWith all these tasks performed, the levels increase in difficulty, while the user improves both as a gamer and as a frailty patient. The healthcarers can also adjust the difficulty and the platform itself has an algorithm for personalisation as, the system collects data from his/her performance and generates level suggestions. Once the training has been going on for some months, and combined with nutritional and physical training, as well as frailty monitoring one more tool will be at disposal of the health professional for controlling the health-related situation.The creation has involved both elders and carers. The testing of SAPA is being carried out in 2 phases (Lab Testing + Final Trial) and in 4 locations in Cyprus, Romania, Switzerland and Spain in health and day-care centres during 2 years. In these places, 60 users will perform the activities of the game and several tests in order to collect data and improve the system where possible. The remaining 40 participants will be part of the control group, whose role is to allow the comparison between groups. The tests include UTAUT for usability, combined with Tree Testing, Attention Based Engagement and Play Testing Questionnaire for the same purpose. These have drawn some results already in the Lab Testing, where 80% of the participants took less than 90 seconds to understand SAPA without instructions, which is a positive result. Also 75% of them had a positive or very positive of the overall experience. As for the monitoring of the participants´ health status, these tests are included: Initial Assessment designed by health professionals for obtaining general information followed by MMSE, IQCODE, AD8, MOCA, AMT, GDS and FAQ for the mental status and SPPB, FRIED's CRITERIA and MNA for the physical status. These tests have been placed in time by the team in order to avoid overlaps or over testing and so as to collect the best quality in the data, true to reality. The key finding includes the possibility to merge several abilities in the training of cognitive frailty through gamification.

Teaching about the photoelectric effect in high schools is often overlooked because it is part of the third-year syllabus from the discipline of physics. With the need for students to follow the technological advances present in daily life, particularly developed from the use of photocells, the work aims to report the didactic experience using the three pedagogical moments on this topic with students Federal Institute of Acre in Xapuri, a city in the interior of the state. The study of the photoelectric effect and its usefulness observed in the day-to-day, such as doors activation, taps, street lighting, and other applications were problematized. As result, it was highlighted that it was possible to verify the participation, enthusiasm, and involvement of the students in the discussions on the subject addressed, as well as a critical reflection among students about some problems experienced in the city itself., La enseñanza sobre el efecto fotoeléctrico en las escuelas secundarias a menudo se descuida, generalmente porque es parte del menú del último año de la disciplina de la física. Con la necesidad de que los estudiantes acompañen los avances tecnológicos presentes en la vida cotidiana, en particular desarrollados a partir del uso de fotocélulas, el trabajo tiene como objetivo relatar la experiencia didáctica utilizando los tres momentos pedagógicos sobre este tema con estudiantes Instituto Federal do Acre en Xapuri, ciudad del interior del estado. Se problematizó el estudio del efecto fotoeléctrico y su utilidad observada en la vida cotidiana, como activación de puertas, grifos, alumbrado público y otras aplicaciones. Como resultado, se destaca que fue posible verificar la participación, entusiasmo e involucramiento de los estudiantes en las discusiones sobre el tema abordado, así como una reflexión crítica entre los estudiantes sobre algunas problemáticas vividas en la propia ciudad., O ensino sobre o efeito fotoelétrico nas escolas de Ensino Médio, muitas vezes, é negligenciado, geralmente, por fazer parte da ementa do último ano da disciplina de Física. Com a necessidade de os alunos acompanharem os avanços tecnológicos presentes no cotidiano, em particular, desenvolvidos a partir do uso de fotocélulas, o trabalho tem como objetivo relatar a experiência didática sobre esse tema utilizando os Três Momentos Pedagógicos, realizada com estudantes do Instituto Federal do Acre em Xapuri, cidade do interior do estado. O estudo do efeito fotoelétrico e sua utilidade observada no dia a dia, como acionamento de portas, torneiras, iluminação pública e demais aplicações foram problematizados. Como resultado, destaca-se que foi possível verificar a participação, o entusiasmo e o envolvimento dos alunos nas discussões sobre o tema abordado, bem como uma reflexão crítica entre eles sobre alguns problemas vivenciados na própria cidade.

Inclusion is a dynamic process in which agents and wills come together, and all of them areprotagonists in the achievement of a common goal: to make any sport an inclusive activity. Given thebenefits of surfing for all people, adapted modalities and actions also arise so that people withdisabilities can enjoy this sport freely and like the rest of the population without disabilities. Thisexperience shows the generation of an inclusive surfing activity thanks to the generation of supportresources carried out within the FederArte festival held on 5 beaches in Gipuzkoa in 2019, showingthat full inclusion can also be carried out in a sport that takes place in a natural context. Concludingthat if the necessary support resources are provided, any sporting activity can be inclusive., La inclusión es un proceso dinámico en el que confluyen agentes y voluntades, y todos ellos son protagonistas en la consecución de un objetivo común: hacer de cualquier práctica deportiva una actividad inclusiva. Dados los beneficios del surf para todas las personas también surgen modalidades y actuaciones adaptadas para que las personas con discapacidad puedan disfrutar de esta práctica deportiva de manera libre y como el resto de la población sin discapacidad. Esta experiencia muestra la generación de una actividad de surf inclusiva gracias a la generación de los recursos de apoyo realizados dentro del festival FederArte celebrado en 5 playas guipuzcoanas en el año 2019,mostrando que la completa inclusión también se puede llevar a cabo en una práctica deportiva que se desarrolla en un contexto natural. Concluyendo que si se ponen los recursos de apoyo necesarios cualquier actividad deportiva puede ser inclusiva.

- Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyse the meanings that underlie women’s participation in and commitment to leisure-time sport related to Basque pelota. Thirty-eight women between 22 and 60 years old participated in this ethnographic study, which conducted 21 semi-structured interviews. The theoretical framework used for the analysis was informed by a feminist approach and the Serious Leisure Perspective. A hybrid approach, deductive-inductive coding was employed. The data analysis revealed that recreational and competitive female athletes had different levels of engagement and attributed different meanings to their sport practice depending on their form of participation, their commitment, and the lifestyle built around it. It is concluded that the seriousness with which the activities are carried out influences the sport involvement of female Basque pelota players, which should be taken into account to adapt the activities and make an offer related to the characteristics of each pelotari type’s context.

The parameters used in the preparation of polymeric nanoparticles can influence its ability to photooxidate biomolecules. This work evaluated the effects of four parameter to prepare Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) nanoparticle loaded with aluminum and indium phthalocyanine (AlPc and InPc), together with iron oxide nanoparticles, assessing their influence on the size, the entrapment efficiency, and the nanoparticles recovery efficacy. The capability of free, and encapsulated, AlPc and InPc in photooxidating the bovine serum albumin (BSA) and tryptophan (Trp) was monitored by fluorescence. The AlPc-loaded nanoparticles had a larger size and a greater entrapment efficiency than that obtained by InPc-loaded nanoparticles. The free InPc was more efficient than the free AlPc to photooxidize the BSA and Trp; whereas the encapsulated AlPc was more efficient than encapsulated InPc to photooxidize the biomolecules. The higher hydrophobicity of the AlPc, combined with the greater aggregation state and the major interaction with the BSA, quenching the capacity of the free AlPc to photooxidate the biomolecules; whereas the greater interaction of the AlPc with PHB reduce the aggregation effect on the free molecules in the aqueous phase and increase the entrapment efficiency, resulting in an improving of the photodynamic efficiency and an increase of the photooxidation rate constant.

ACCEPTED MANUSCRIPT - UNCORRECTED PROOF The U-Pb method has been used in order to understand the high-grade metamorphic rocks in the Ribeira Belt (SE Brazil) and Lu-Hf isotopes were applied to investigate the sources of the magmatic photolith and the tectonic setting of the Serra do Caparaó Complex rocks. The results indicate the existence of two thermal events: the first related to a Paleoproterozoic magmatic event and the second one linked to high-grade metamorphism related to the Brasiliano Orogeny. The U-Pb age interval from 2209 to 2060 Ma obtained in zircon grains from the granulitic orthogneiss with TDMcrustal ages ranging from 2.13 to 3.87 Ga may be interpreted as mantle-derived source with important older crust participation in the magma formation; juvenile arc-related rocks were generated at this time as indicated by the positive ƐHf values. The second group of U-Pb ages ranging from 633 to 584 Ma is interpreted as a metamorphic event, resulting from the collisional process related to the Gondwana assembly.

Esse ensaio cientifico aborda a propositura do seguinte problema: Quais os Impactos do Atual Cenario do Direito do Trabalho no Bem-Estar Social? Tem como objetivo geral avaliar Os Impactos do Atual Cenario do Direito do Trabalho no Bem-Estar Social. Utilizara o metodo indutivo, analisando o tema em tela. Referido metodo e um processo mental que parte da coleta de dados e/ou materiais ja constatados acerca do tema gerando uma verdade geral ou universal, nao exposta nas partes examinadas. A natureza da pesquisa e quantitativa, pois e estavel, reducionista, o raciocinio e logico, a visao da realidade e fragmentada, objetiva e singular, separada dos pesquisadores. Utiliza a forma exploratoria, pois este trabalho foi efetuado a partir de um levantamento bibliografico, utilizando informacoes provenientes de material com textos sobre o tema. O tema se justifica dada a atualidade e repercussao, principalmente, apos a efetivacao da Lei 13.467/17, que gerou grandes instabilidades juridicas e sociais. Isto posto, imprescindivel que a lei trouxesse, um aprimoramento as relacoes trabalhistas, porem, sem cercear direitos, inclusive Constitucionais dos trabalhadores, que foram conquistados sob arduas lutas, de modo que o Bem-Estar social nao fosse atingido e desestabilizado. O trabalho foi apresentado em um workshop ministrado pelo Juiz do Trabalho da 23 Regiao, especialista em Direito e Processo do trabalho, Doutor Adriano Romero da Silva, aos academicos do Curso de Direito do Centro Universitario UniCathedral, em 22 de outubro de 2019, no 1o Congresso Juridico Direito e Humanos, ocorrido no periodo de 22 a 25 de outubro de 2019, na Cidade de Barra do Garcas – MT, em parceria com a Advogada e Professora do referido Curso, Esp. The fruit of Cactaceas from northeastern Brazil have been the object of many ethnobotanical and functional quality studies. However, a considerable number of species remain poorly exploited, such as the facheiro (Pilosocereus pachycladus Ritter), a native Brazilian plant widely occurring and used in the Caatinga. The objectives of this research were to evaluate the quality, and antioxidant and enzymatic activities of the facheiro fruit during maturation. Fruits were harvested from areas of occurrence of plants in the Paraíba State, Brazil, at three maturity stages, which were determined based on the color of the epicarp (G - green, IP – green with purple traces, and R - completely purple). It was carried out a survey of terms sensorial descriptor terms for fruit appearance and then evaluated the physical, physicochemical, bioactive compounds, antioxidant and peroxidase (POD) activities during maturation. The fruit were described as fleshy berries, with a smooth epicarp; a round, flat shape; opaque purple color; and juicy and soft pulp when ripe. Quality varied during maturation, with the most significant changes being in coloration: the fruit became more purple over time, providing a clear indicator of maturity. With maturation, there was an increase in the content of betalains and total extractable polyphenols, as well as antioxidant activity, by DPPH radical capture method, mainly in the pulp. The pulp of the Pilosocereus pachycladus fruit is an important source of betalains, primarily betacyanins. During maturation, POD activity decreased in the pericarp and increased in the pulp and was strongly correlated with the presence of betalains and with antioxidant activity. Os frutos de Cactaceas do Nordeste Brasileiro têm sido alvo de muitos estudos etnobotânicos e de qualidade funcional. No entanto, ainda há um número considerável de espécies pouco exploradas, como o facheiro (Pilosocereus pachycladus Ritter), planta nativa e de ampla ocorrência e uso na Caatinga. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar a qualidade, atividade antioxidante e da peroxidase (POD) de frutos do facheiro durante a maturação. Os frutos foram colhidos de áreas de ocorrência de plantas em três estádios de maturação, com base na coloração do epicarpo (V – verde, IP – verde com início de coloração roxa e R – completamente roxo), do município de Pocinhos, Paraíba. Foi realizado um levantamento de termos descritores sensoriais de aparência dos frutos e, em seguida, avaliações físicas, físico-químicas, compostos bioativos, atividade antioxidante e da POD durante a maturação. Os frutos foram descritos como bagas carnosas, com epicarpo liso, formato redondo-achatado, cor roxa opaca, polpa suculenta e macia quando maduros. A qualidade variou durante a maturação, sendo as mudanças mais expressivas as de coloração: tornou-se mais roxa com o avanço da maturação, proporcionando um claro indicador de maturidade. Com a maturação, observou-se um aumento nos conteúdos de betalaínas e polifenóis extraíveis totais, bem como a atividade antioxidante, pela captura do radical DPPH, principalmente na polpa, A polpa do fruto de Pilosocereus pachycladus é uma fonte importante de betalaínas, principalmente betacianinas. Durante a maturação, a atividade da POD diminuiu no pericarpo e aumentou na polpa e foi fortemente correlacionada com a presença de betalaínas e com a atividade antioxidante.

A Floresta Atlântica apresenta uma fitofisionomia variavel ao longo de sua extensao latitudinal, reflexo das distintas condicoes climaticas, topograficas e geomorfologicas. Na regiao Semiarida do Nordeste do Brasil sao encontrados remanescentes desta floresta geralmente associados a encostas e topos de serras com elevacao acima dos 500 m. Este estudo objetivou inventariar a flora de samambaias e licofitas em dois remanescentes de Floresta Atlântica e avaliar a similaridade floristica destas areas com diferentes formacoes vegetacionais do Nordeste do Brasil. Foram realizadas coletas na Area de Relevante Interesse Ecologico da Mata da Bica (estado do Rio Grande do Norte) e Area de Protecao Ambiental Serra da Meruoca (estado do Ceara), visando registrar a ocorrencia de samambaias e licofitas. Posteriormente, foi elaborada uma matriz binaria com a ocorrencia das especies registradas nas areas coletadas e em estudos publicados no Nordeste do Brasil. Utilizamos o indice de similaridade de Jaccard para comparar a composicao floristica entre as areas. Em seguida realizamos uma analise de agrupamento pelo metodo de associacao media. Foram registradas 18 especies de samambaias e uma licofita. De acordo com a analise de similaridade, dois grupos principais uniram de forma geral, areas mais secas e umidas associadas a Caatinga e Floresta Atlântica, respectivamente. Tambem foi observada uma maior similaridade entre as areas da Serra da Meruoca e Mata da Bica com areas do dominio fitogeografico da Caatinga, mesmo ocorrendo em fitofisionomia da Floresta Atlântica. RICHNESS AND SIMILARITY OF FENS AND LICOPHYTES IN THE ATLANTIC FOREST OF NORTHEASTERN BRAZIL. The Atlantic Forest presents a variable phytophysiognomy throughout its latitudinal extension, reflecting the different climatic, topographic and geomorphological conditions. In the semi-arid region of Northeast Brazil, remnants of this forest are found usually associated with slopes and tops of mountains with elevation above 500 m. This study aimed to list the ferns and lycophytes flora in two remnants of Atlantic Forest and evaluate the floristic similarity of these areas with different vegetation formations in Northeast Brazil. Specimens were collected at Area of Relevant Ecological Interest “Mata da Bica” (Rio Grande do Norte state) and Environmental Protection Area “Serra da Meruoca” (Ceara state), in order to record the occurrence of ferns and lycophytes. Later, a binary matrix was elaborated with the occurrence of the species recorded both in the sampled areas and in previous studies carried out in the Northeast of Brazil. The Jaccard similarity index was used to compare the floristic composition between the areas. Then we performed a cluster analysis using the Unweighted Pair Group Method using Arithmetic averages method. Seventeen species of ferns and one lycophyte were recorded. According to the similarity analysis, two main groups joined drier and wetter areas, associated to Caatinga and Atlantic Forest, respectively. It was also observed a greater similarity between the areas of “Serra da Meruoca” and “Mata da Bica” with areas of phytogeographic domain of the Caatinga, even occurring in phytophysiognomy of the Atlantic Forest.

73. Microstructure and elastic deformation behavior of β-type Ti-29Nb-13Ta-4.6Zr with promising mechanical properties for stent applications

In this paper, an attempt was made to combine theoretical composition design and thermo-mechanical treatments to produce a metastable β-type titanium alloy with mechanical compatibility for self-expandable stent applications. Metastable β-type Ti-29Nb-13Ta-4.6 Zr (wt.%) thin-wires with an elastic modulus of 46 GPa and a yield strength of 920 MPa were successfully fabricated by cold rolling and low temperature aging. This combination of high yield strength and comparatively low elastic modulus resulted in enhanced elastic recoverable strain of 1.9%, which is much higher than that of the conventional metallic stent materials. The microstructure responsible for the much sought-after mechanical properties was observed to be mainly consisted of a homogeneous distribution of nanometer-sized α-precipitates in a β-phase matrix obtained via a spinodal decomposition of the pre-existed α″-martensite phase through α″ → α″ lean + α″ rich → α + β. The α-precipitates increase the strength of the material by hindering the motion of dislocations (spinodal hardening) while the β-matrix with relatively low content of β-stabilizers gives rise to the observed low elastic modulus. More broadly, these findings could be extended to developing advanced metastable β-type titanium alloys for implant and other engineering applications. In this paper, thin-struts of β-type titanium alloy (Ti–29Nb–13Ta-4.6Zr, wt%) were successfully fabricated by cold rolling, and their elastic behavior and mechanical properties are discussed for different processing conditions. Before cold rolling, the extremely low yield and ultimate tensile strength of the as-cast and solution-treated specimens, result of a notable “double yielding” behavior, make them inadequate to be applied as structural devices. However, after cold rolling plus short time aging, a nonlinear elasticity with a substantial recoverable strain, considered as the intermediate stage between “double yielding” and normal linear elasticity, is obtained and ascribed to a moderate precipitation of nanometer-sized secondary phases. These precipitates strengthen the material by hindering the motion of dislocations while the β-matrix with relatively low content of β-stabilizers can give rise to a low elastic modulus. The ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, Young's modulus and elastic recoverable strain of the cold rolled plus aged specimens were measured as being between 967 and 1192 MPa, 920–1180 MPa, 48–83 GPa and 1.5–2.0%, respectively. As such, the alloy is anticipated to be promising metallic self-expansible stent material by virtue of the unique combination of extraordinarily high elastic strain, high mechanical strength, and excellent biocompatibility [1, 2].

Esta pesquisa é documental, para isso, foram confrontados artigos e livros referentes ao assunto com documentos da empresa disponíveis em meios digitais e outros, buscando responder se os produtos estudados estão em conformidade com a literatura de Controle de Gestão. Foi concluído que os softwares pesquisados agregam diversas informações de Controle de Gestão e auxiliam os diversos setores de uma organização, no planejamento e tomada de decisão, estando em conformidade com a literatura acadêmica. Esta pesquisa é justificada pelo fato de evidenciar a importância do avanço da tecnologia da informação aplicada diretamente como ferramenta de negócios, onde atuando de forma colaborativa facilita a tomada de decisão, planejamento e organização dos gestores perante os diversos setores de uma empresa.

Chemical processes present in the transformation industries, the aging of our organism, the growth of plants and the generation of rains are examples of processes controlled by kinetic factors that permeates our daily routine. However, classes based on abstract example and by excessive mathematical calculations decrease the students’ interest in learning about this content, as well as, do not contribute to train teachers to be aware of the importance of chemical science and its relation to society and the environment. In order to make a pedagogical intervention in the teaching of chemical kinetics, this work aimed to evaluating if an investigative methodology to provide for the student the ability to investigate and reflect on facts observed in the discipline of chemical kinetics. The research developed with students of the Licentiate in Chemistry of a Public Institution, showed that the investigate methodology was able to develop the students’ ability to observe and reflect on the occurrence of a chemical reaction. However, the absence of mathematical concepts, including that of derivative, made it difficult for students to develop an experimental procedure, requiring the planning of actions in the laboratory. It was verified that the investigative methodology favors the interaction and communication between the pairs, helping in the establishment of an experimental methodology to be applied by each group to answer the questions regarding the reaction of thiosulphate in acid environment. This practice brought to the educational environmental the discussion about the generation of laboratory residue, qualifying the students to work with enough quantities of reagents to achieve the same results that would be reached with large quantities, besides associating the pedagogical intervention to the influences of the chemical kinetics on the environmental issues. Os processos químicos presentes nas indústrias de transformação, o envelhecimento do nosso organismo, o crescimento das plantas e a geração das chuvas, são exemplos de processos controlados por fatores cinéticos que permeiam nossa rotina diária. Aulas fundamentadas em exemplos abstratos e com excesso de cálculos matemáticos diminuem o interesse dos alunos em aprender este conteúdo, assim como, não contribuem para formar professores conscientes da importância da ciência química e sua relação com a sociedade e com o meio ambiente. Com o intuito de realizar uma intervenção pedagógica no ensino de cinética química, esta pesquisa teve por objetivo avaliar se uma metodologia investigativa propicia aos alunos a habilidade de investigar e refletir sobre fatos observados na disciplina de Cinética Química. A pesquisa desenvolvida com os alunos da Licenciatura em Química de uma Instituição Pública, demonstrou que a metodologia investigativa foi capaz de desenvolver a habilidade de observação e reflexão dos graduandos sobre a ocorrência de uma reação química. No entanto, a ausência dos conceitos matemáticos, incluindo o de derivada, dificultou o desenvolvimento de um procedimento experimento por parte dos alunos, exigindo o replanejamento de ações no laboratório. Verificou-se que a metodologia investigativa favorece a interação e comunicação entre os pares, auxiliando no estabelecimento de uma metodologia experimental a ser aplicada por cada grupo para responder aos questionamentos relativos a reação de tiossulfato em meio ácido. Tal prática trouxe ao ambiente educacional a discussão sobre a geração de resíduo laboratorial, qualificando os alunos a trabalharem com quantidades suficientes de reagentes para se atingir os mesmos resultados que seriam atingidos com grandes quantidades, além de associar a intervenção pedagógica às influências da cinética química junto às questões ambientais.

The use of biodegradable coatings associated with essential oils with fungicidal action can be an efficient alternative in the conservation and reduction of postharvest losses of papaya, a very perishable fruit susceptible to decay. In this sense, the objective of this work was to evaluate the postharvest conservation of papaya under cassava-based starch biodegradable coatings, added with essential oil (EO) of ginger. The experimental design was the completely randomized in a split-plot scheme, with the plot consisting of 5 coatings applied to ‘Sunrise solo’ papaya’ harvested in the light green maturity stage: (control (without coating); 2% cassava starch (S2%); S2% + 0.15% ginger essential oil (EO); S2% + 0.30% EO and S2% + 0.45% EO) and in the subplot the days of storage: (0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 days), with 4 replications. Papaya coated with S2% + 0.30% EO showed a delay in color evolution, lower weight loss, maintained the levels of soluble solids and ascorbic acid, in addition to reducing the incidence of decay and increasing the purchase intention, thus increasing postharvest life in 4 days as related to control fruits. The use of 2% starch coating added with 0.30% ginger essential oil is a viable, sustainable and low-cost alternative for maintaining the quality and adding value to ‘Sunrise solo’ papaya as a clean technology., As perdas pós-colheita são ocasionadas por diversos fatores, dentre eles a vida útil curta de frutas e hortaliças. A associação de um componente de caráter plastificante e ou emulsionante é de grande valia para conservação desses produtos, principalmente para o mamão, fruto tipicamente climatérico. Neste sentido, objetivou-se avaliar a qualidade pós-colheita de mamão submetido a recobrimentos biodegradáveis a base de fécula de mandioca associados a diferentes concentrações do óleo essencial de gengibre. O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado em esquema de parcela subdividida, sendo a parcela composta por 5 recobrimentos aplicados nos frutos de mamão: (controle; fécula a 2%; fécula a 2%+0,15% óleo de gengibre; fécula a 2%+0,30% óleo de gengibre e fécula a 2%+0,45% óleo de gengibre) e na subparcela os períodos de armazenamento: (0, 3, 6, 9 e 12 dias), com quatro repetições. O uso de recobrimentos biodegradáveis a base de fécula de mandioca aumenta a vida útil pós-colheita dos frutos de mamão. A concentração de 0,30% do óleo essencial de gengibre reduziu a perda de massa dos frutos de mamão e o óleo essencial de gengibre associado à fécula de mandioca oferece benefícios para o aumento da vida de prateleira do mamão ‘Sunrise solo’.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) Gum Metal corresponds to a family of β-Ti alloys that are currently receiving great attention due to its outstanding properties such as low elastic modulus, superelasticity, and high tensile strength. These alloys show only β-stabilizing, non-toxic, and biocompatible alloying elements. For the production of Gum Metal, it is recommended the addition of oxygen that is not tightly defined in the literature, as well as an accentuated cold work, which is usually obtained by cold rolling or swaging. The present work proposed to produce Gum Metal Ti-29Nb-13Ta-4.6Zr-xO (wt.%) with three different oxygen contents (700, 2200, and 4600 ppm) by an alternative processing route composed of rotary forging and severe plastic deformation (SPD) by HPT. Also, the work proposes to investigate alloy behavior during aging. This thesis aimed to find a microstructural condition that provides high mechanical strength while maintaining the Gum Metal typical low elastic modulus. The processed alloy in this work had its microstructure, mechanical, thermal, and physical properties investigated. An increase in β-phase stability, to the detriment of αʺ, as well as in the mechanical properties was observed with the combined effect of oxygen addition, HPT processing, and aging. The increase in mechanical properties was attributed to the microstructural refinement, with a grain size up to 50 nm, and to the high dislocation density, both obtained after SPD, and to the formation of finely dispersed precipitates in the β-matrix after aging. Microhardness of approximately 400 HV was obtained for samples in two different combinations of processing and oxygen level. The elastic modulus did not change significantly for the different oxygen levels, obtaining values between 58 to 70 GPa. The typical properties of Gum Metal were achieved in the present thesis, which is related to the deformation mechanisms such as slip, twinning, transformation-induced martensite as well as reverse martensitic transformation. As Gum Metal correspondem a uma classe de ligas de Ti β compostas por elementos β-estabilizadores, não-tóxicos e biocompatíveis, que vem atualmente recebendo grande atenção devido as suas propriedades ímpares como baixo módulo de elasticidade, superelasticidade e alta resistência mecânica. Para a produção dessas ligas recomenda-se a adição de oxigênio, em teores não bem definidos na literatura, bem como deformação plástica acentuada que geralmente é realizada por laminação ou forjamento a frio. O presente trabalho se propôs a produzir a Gum Metal Ti-29Nb-13Ta-4,6Zr-xO (%peso) com três teores de oxigênio (700, 2200 e 3600 ppm) por uma rota alternativa de processamento composta por forjamento rotativo a quente e deformação plástica severa (DPS) por HPT. O comportamento da liga durante envelhecimento foi também investigado. O objetivo da presente tese foi encontrar uma condição microestrutural que forneça uma alta resistência mecânica, enquanto mantém o baixo módulo de elasticidade característico das Gum Metal. A liga processada teve sua microestrutura, propriedades mecânicas, térmicas e físicas investigadas. Um aumento na estabilidade da fase β, em detrimento da αʺ, e nas propriedades mecânicas foi observado com a ação combinada da adição de oxigênio, processamento por HPT e envelhecimento. O aumento nas propriedades mecânicas foi atribuído ao elevado refino microestrutural, obtendo grãos com 50 nm, e a elevada densidade de discordância, ambos obtidos após DPS, bem como pela formação de precipitados finamente dispersos na matriz de β após o envelhecimento. Microdureza igual a 400 HV foi obtida em amostras para duas diferentes combinações de processamento/composição. O módulo de elasticidade não apresentou mudanças significativas com a alteração do teor de oxigênio, obtendo-se valores entre 58 a 70 GPa. As propriedades típicas das Gum Metal foram obtidas na presente tese, as quais estão relacionadas aos mecanismos de deformação como maclagem, deslizamento, martensita induzida por transformação, bem como transformação martensítica reversa. O presente trabalho visa apresentar um diagnóstico inicial sobre o quantitativo de alunos que evadiram e concluíram o curso de licenciatura em Física da Universidade Federal do Acre. O estudo foi baseado nos dados fornecidos pela coordenação do curso referente aos treze anos de existência, a partir da abertura em 2005 até o primeiro semestre de 2018. O estudo ainda apresenta abordagem estatística e uma reflexão sobre a importância do curso para o estado do Acre, bem como apresenta elementos do perfil do licenciado em Física (diplomado), como sexo, à idade que concluiu a graduação, a naturalidade e a faixa de tempo necessário para integralizar os estudos. Verificou que a diferença de sexo, forma de ingresso e períodos cursados estão ligados a evasão dos graduandos. Constatou-se que os 4º e 6º períodos têm o maior índice de evasão, a formação por outro lado ocorre entre o 8º e 11º período.

The challenge was always great for lipophilic photosensitizer use in the photodynamic therapy (PDT) for treatment of internal body diseases. Photosensitizer metabolism in liver, incompatibility of the molecules in the gastric acid, aggregation in the bloodstream, opsonization of molecules and phagocyting process hamper the application of the free lipophilic photosensitizer in disease treatment using PDT. This problem has been partially resolved using the drug delivery system to encapsulate the photosensitizer. Many studies have been reported using polymeric nanoparticles to encapsulate the lipophilic photosensitizer showing excellent results for PDT, but few nanoparticulate formulations are available at the pharmacies. The absence of deep knowledge about the influence of synergic effect of parameters used in the nanoparticle preparation on its properties, the photobleaching process of encapsulated photosensitizer and the molecule aggregation into the nanoparticle can decrease the photodynamic efficacy for the lipophilic photosensitizer. Our research group has studied the influence of many parameters on the nanoparticulate properties of several encapsulated phthalocyanines and porphyrin using factorial design, evaluating the free and encapsulated compound aggregation, efficacy to reduce the viability of cancer cells, the photooxidation of the biomolecules and the influence of photobleaching. This work shows the most important results to be consider in the optimization of the polymeric nanoparticle.

The sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) belongs to the Asteraceae family, adapts to different edaphoclimatic conditions, where, in this way, it is possible to grow in all regions of Brazil. In the Northeast of Brazil, an establishment of cultivation practices related to sunflower was sought, which makes it possible to exploit this crop under economic techniques, mainly because it is a plant that has a great nutritional use. The use of organic fertilizer as cattle manure becomes a very interesting alternative, considering the ease of use and the relatively low use. The objective of this work was to evaluate the development of sunflower in different types of treatment with bovine manure to determine the best composition of the substrate. 120 seeded plastic bags were used, 10 repetitions of 3 seeds, selected in four movements: (T1) 100% soil (control), and the controls (T2, T3 and T4), which are characterized by the different proportions of bovine and soil manure, 25, 50 and 75% of bovine manure, respectively. For a height (cm) of the sunflower plants, no statistical difference was observed between the procedures. Controls using less bovine manure had smaller diameters. The number of leaves presented was higher in plants submitted to (T1), which shows an average of 13.9, differing from the other parameters that did not show any difference between them. The controls used in this work made it possible to observe that the best development of sunflower plants was the result of a material rich in organic materials and nutrients necessary for the plant. RESUMO O girassol (Helianthus annuus L.) pertence à família Asteraceae se adapta a condições edafoclimáticas diferentes, onde, dessa forma possibilita ser cultivado em todas as regiões do Brasil. No Nordeste do Brasil, tem sido buscado um estabelecimento de práticas de cultivo relacionadas ao girassol que permitam tornar viável a exploração dessa cultura sob técnicas econômicas, principalmente, por essa ser uma planta que apresenta uma exigência nutricional grande. A utilização de adubação orgânica como esterco de bovinos torna-se uma alternativa bastante interessante, tendo em vista a facilidade da obtenção e do custo relativamente baixo. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o desenvolvimento do girassol em diferentes tipos de tratamentos com esterco bovino para determinar a melhor composição do substrato. Foram utilizadas 120 sacos plásticos semeados, sendo 10 repetições de 3 sementes, separadas em quatro tratamentos: (T1) 100% solo (controle), e os tratamentos (T2, T3 e T4), que se caracterizaram pelas diferentes proporções de esterco bovino e solo, sendo 25, 50 e 75% de esterco bovino, respectivamente. Para a altura (cm) das plantas de girassol não foi observado diferença estatística entre os tratamentos. Os tratamentos utilizando menos esterco bovino apresentaram diâmetros menores. O número de folhas apresentado foi superior em plantas submetidas ao (T1), o qual apresentou média de 13,9, diferindo dos demais tratamentos que não apresentaram diferença entre si. Os tratamentos utilizados nesse trabalho, possibilitaram observar que o melhor desenvolvimento das plantas de girassol foi resultado de um material rico em matéria orgânica e de nutrientes considerados necessários à planta. This study aimed to present an experimental practice as didactic teaching and learning for the discipline of Physics in high school. Thus, an experimental model was conceived for the study of kinematics in the first year. The project had as methodology the following didactic stages: initially, a questionnaire was applied; then, the students were instructed about the concepts related to kinematics; subsequently, a video related to the subject was displayed and, finally, the experiment, as an educational product. The analysis of the objectives to be achieved by the students was performed through two new applications of the questionnaire, after the experimental activity. From the questionnaires, a positive result was observed in relation to significant learning about the contents addressed. Therefore, from this work it was reinforced that experimental practice contributes to the teaching and learning of the concepts of Physics in Basic Education. Este trabalho teve como objetivo apresentar uma prática experimental como didática de ensino e aprendizagem para a disciplina de Física no Ensino Médio. Assim, um modelo experimental foi idealizado para o estudo de cinemática no primeiro ano. O projeto teve como metodologia as seguintes etapas didáticas: inicialmente, foi aplicado um questionário; em seguida, os alunos foram instruídos sobre os conceitos relacionados à cinemática; posteriormente, foi exibido um vídeo relacionado ao assunto e, por fim, o experimento, como produto educacional. A análise dos objetivos a serem alcançados pelos alunos foi realizada por meio de duas novas aplicações do questionário, após a atividade experimental. There are many studies that analyze the reality of leisure for young people, however, they are not so abundant if the focus of attention is focused on the group of young people with disabilities. The objective of this article is to understand the leisure activities of young people with disabilities and analyze the role that the family plays in it. The type of research is descriptive, applying a survey to 400 young people aged 15 to 29 with disabilities. The results show that young people with disabilities, like the rest of the young population, value leisure as an important element in their lives and that they organize it themselves, with the family playing a secondary role. The explicit presence of the family is less than in other vital periods, and far from being a promoter in the organization of leisure for the young group, the family decreases its presence as the person with a disability grows and has more autonomy, and therefore shows greater leadership in decisionmaking. It is concluded that in young people, leisure is considered as an adequate vital space to forge new friendships, and as an area of personal development., Existen multitud de investigaciones que analizan la realidad del ocio de las personas jóvenes, sin embargo, no son tan abundantes si el foco de atención se centra en el colectivo de jóvenes con discapacidad. El objetivo del presente artículo radica en conocer el ocio de las personas jóvenes con discapacidad y analizar el papel que juega la familia en el mismo. El tipo de investigación es descriptivo, aplicando una encuesta a 400 jóvenes de 15 a 29 años con discapacidad. Los resultados muestran que la juventud con discapacidad, al igual que el resto de la población joven, valora el ocio como elemento importante en sus vidas y que ellos mismos lo organizan, jugando la familia un papel secundario. La presencia explícita de la familia es menor que en otros periodos vitales, y lejos de ser promotora en la organización del ocio del colectivo joven, la familia va disminuyendo su presencia a medida que la persona con discapacidad crece y tiene más autonomía, y por tanto muestra mayor protagonismo en la toma de decisiones. Se concluye, que en las personas jóvenes el ocio es considerado como un espacio vital adecuado para forjar nuevas amistades, y como ámbito de desarrollo personal.

O ensino sobre o efeito fotoelétrico nas escolas de Ensino Médio, muitas vezes, é negligenciado, geralmente, por fazer parte da ementa do último ano da disciplina de Física. Com a necessidade de os alunos acompanharem os avanços tecnológicos presentes no cotidiano, em particular, desenvolvidos a partir do uso de fotocélulas, o trabalho tem como objetivo relatar a experiência didática sobre esse tema utilizando os Três Momentos Pedagógicos, realizada com estudantes do Instituto Federal do Acre em Xapuri, cidade do interior do estado. O estudo do efeito fotoelétrico e sua utilidade observada no dia a dia, como acionamento de portas, torneiras, iluminação pública e demais aplicações foram problematizados. Como resultado, destaca-se que foi possível verificar a participação, o entusiasmo e o envolvimento dos alunos nas discussões sobre o tema abordado, bem como uma reflexão crítica entre eles sobre alguns problemas vivenciados na própria cidade.

Every year the electronics industry increases its production and earns billions of dollars. This increase is associated to the growth electronic waste production that, unfortunately, is not followed by the proportional recycling increase. An extensive quantity of e-waste containing several toxic chemical residues, that provoke serious toxic effects for human health, is released in the environment every day. This work it is a mini review about the issue of electronic waste production and its chemical contamination capacity for soil, water, plants, animals, food, and humans. Finally, this mini-review finalize with a small reflection about e-waste in Covid-19's Pandemic times.
