An online roadmap has been introduced to improve the standard of academic skills by embedding a semester long sequence of stimuli and resources for new students within our large, general science degrees. This device is faculty managed and links administration, curricular and support services to the just-in-time needs of the students. This institution-wide curricular and co-curricular approach extends and supports our existing workshop and mentoring activities. It answers and prompts frequently asked questions, inducts students into the broader culture of the faculty and integrates information literacy and other academic skills which will be taught, practised and assessed during their first semester at university.

The bachelor thesis deals with orientation of students of the Information studies and librarianship in the offer and accessibility of electronic resources at the Charles University in Prague. The bachelor thesis desribes the following topiscs. Desribecs of Study of electronic texts (Texty Jinonice), Portal of electronic resources, Portal of electronic journals, search engines Metalib and SFX. The bachelor simply describes required technology to access electronic resources such as EZProxy or Shibboleth. The thesis explains options of connect to electronic resources at Charles University of Prague. Thle last part includes the evalution of survey that was focused on orientation and use of individua electronic resources.

Among the many initiatives implemented by traditional, offline universities in adapting to virtual campuses and e-learning, it is perhaps student orientation and personalised electronic tutoring (through the Internet) the one that has received more attention lately. As more importance is attached to the student's autonomous work in the new teaching and learning scenarios, the need for technologically-assisted tutoring methods becomes patent. In this paper we aim at presenting the results of a case study in which we have analysed the use of virtual tutorials, comparing them with face-to-face ones during five complete academic years in three on-campus subjects belonging to the degree in English Philology at the University of Oviedo (Spain). The main goal of this paper is to contribute to determine the level of adaptation of university students to online instruction and virtual campuses, as well as to assess the inherent validity of virtual tutoring as a method for distance learning incorporación de los campus virtuales y el e-learning al contexto educativo de las universidades presenciales tradicionales, pero quizás sea el área de la orientación y la tutoría personalizada a través de la red uno de los que tiene mayor proyección, habida cuenta de la creciente necesidad de asesoramiento del alumnado a medida que se le cede mayor protagonismo en el desarrollo del currículum. En este artículo presentamos los resultados de un estudio de caso que analiza comparativamente la evolución del uso de las tutorías virtuales frente a las presenciales a lo largo de cinco cursos académicos completos en tres asignaturas de una licenciatura impartida presencialmente en la facultad de filología de la Universidad de Oviedo (España). Nuestro objetivo prioritario con este trabajo es contribuir a determinar el grado de adaptación de los estudiantes universitarios a los campus virtuales y los entornos virtuales de aprendizaje, así como la validez intrínseca de las tutorías virtuales como elemento de formación académica a distancia
