This paper introduces a new method for the early detection of gastric cancer using a combination of feature extraction based on discrete wavelet transformation (DWT) for horizontal attenuated total reflectance–Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (HATR–FT-IR) and classification using probability neural network (PNN). 344 FT-IR spectra were collected from 172 pairs of fresh normal and abnormal stomach tissue᾽s samples. After preprocessing, 5 features were extracted with DWT analysis. Based on the PNN classification, all FT-IR spectra were classified into three categories. The accuracy of identifying normal gastric tissue, early gastric cancer tissue and gastric cancer tissue samples were 100.00, 97.56 and 100.00%, respectively. This result indicated that FT-IR with DWT and PNN could effectively and easily diagnose gastric cancer in its early stages.

Recently, artificial bandgap materials (such as photonic crystals and phononic crystals) have been becoming the research hotspot of the next generation intelligent materials, because of its extremely designable, tunable and controllable capacity of classical waves. On the other hand, topological material phase, originally proposed and first demonstrated in Fermionic electronic systems, has been proposed in more and more Bosonic systems. In this review paper, we first focus on some of the representative photonic/phononic topological models, and four common types of topological photonic system are discussed:1) photonic/phononic quantum Hall effect with broken time-reversal symmetry; 2) photonic topological insulator and the associated pseudo-time-reversal symmetry protected mechanism; 3) time/space periodically modulated photonic Floquet topological insulator; 4) a summary and outlook including a brief introduction of Zak phase in one-dimensional systems and Weyl point in three-dimensional systems. Finally, the underlying Dirac model is analyzed.

To evaluate the expression of microRNA (miR)-let-7b in peripheral blood cells of patients with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) and investigate its relationship to clinical disease parameters.Peripheral blood and serum samples were obtained for study from 60 PBC patients and 60 healthy controls. Peripheral blood cells were extracted and subjected to real-time PCR to measure miR-let-7b expression. Serum levels of interleukin (IL)-18, total bilirubin (TBIL), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) were measured by standard biochemical assays. The relationship between miR-let-7b expression and disease parameters was assessed by Spearman's rank correlation test.PBC patients showed significantly lower expression of miR-let-7b in peripheral blood cells than healthy controls (P less than 0.001); moreover, the miR-let-7b expression level decreased in parallel to increases in disease severity (stage III / IIIIV). In PBC patients, the miR-let-7b expression was significantly correlated with Mayo risk scores (r = -0.4930, P less than 0.001), IL-18 (r = -0.4643, P less than 0.001) and ALP (r = -4119, P less than 0.001), but not with TBIL or GGT.Decreased expression of miR-let-7b may be associated with development and progression of PBC, and this miRNA may represent a novel target of improved diagnostic and preventive strategies for PBC.

For an emergency event under uncertainty environment, in order to make a better decision, a new definition about emergency event is given, which is a set that the element is event attributes including key attribute, secondary attribute, environment attribute and disserve evaluation attribute, etc. And the response decision for the emergency event also is defined newly by a set including the decision of extracting attributes, determining decision object and choosing action. Then, for a simple barrier lake event, we model the response decision problem into a infinite period stochastic dynamic programming problem when the event is random and dynamic. And a numerical example is given, the results show that the model can solve the problem effectively when the state of emergency event and the action set are finite.

In order to improve the auto-generating test paper's quality at the cost of low time, an intelligent algorithm based on immune genetic algorithm was proposed. In the algorithm immune process was added into the basic framework of genetic algorithm, and the algorithm based on vaccination was put forward and used for test paper auto-generating. The problem that genetic algorithm is precocity and easy to fall into a local optimization was resolved by this algorithm. The feasibility and validity of the algorithm was proved by test data compared with other algorithms. At last the validating system enhances the users' condition constraints for test paper through manual inching, thus the system is more simple and practical.

Background Cancer-testis antigens (CTAs) are suitable targets for cancer-specific immunotherapy. The aim of the study is to investigate the expression of CTAs in intrahepatic cholagiocarcinoma (IHCC) and evaluate their potential therapeutic values. Methods Eighty-nine IHCC patients were retrospectively assessed for their expression of CTAs and HLA Class I by immunohistochemistry using the following antibodies: MA454 recognizing MAGE-A1, 57B recognizing multiple MAGE-A (MAGE-A3/A4), E978 recognizing NY-ESO-1, and EMR8-5 recognizing HLA class I. The clinicopathological and prognostic significance of individual CTA markers and their combination were further evaluated. Results The expression rates of MAGE-A1, MAGE-A3/4 and NY-ESO-1 were 29.2%, 27.0% and 22.5%, respectively. The concomitant expression of CTAs and HLA class I antigen was observed in 33.7% of the IHCC tumors. We found that positive MAGE-3/4 expression correlated with larger tumor size (≥ 5 cm), tumor recurrence and poor prognosis. Moreover, we identified 52 cases (58.4%) of IHCC patients with at least one CTA marker expression, and this subgroup displayed a higher frequency of larger tumor size and a shorter survival than the other cases. Furthermore, expression of at least one CTA marker was also an independent prognostic factor in patients with IHCC. Conclusion Our data suggest that specific immunotherapy targeted CTAs might be a novel treatment option for IHCC patients.

In a productive system with new generation and old generation product, one hand, producer faces the needs for new components, and the other hand, also needs consider the after-sales service needs for components of sold products. The after-sales service needs can be satisfied by ordering the old components, and also by new components. For determining the optimal order quantities for new and old components, a single period stochastic inventory model was formulated. The uniqueness and existence of optimal decisions were proved, and the conditions that should satisfy were given. And moreover, some properties for optimal decisions were obtained.

In a remanufacturing reverse supply chain consisting of a manufacturer with random yield and a recycling business with uncertain supply, a Stackelberg game problem was studied, where recycling business determines the selling price before uncertain supply was realized, and the Manufacturer determines the order quantity. The existence and uniqueness of the Stackelberg equilibrium were proved, and some properties were obtained, including the manufacturer's order quantity does not depend on the recycling business's uncertain supply, and the Manufacturer 's shortage risk are larger than that with no supply uncertainty. At last, a numerical analysis was given.
