O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar a percepção de alunos de graduação em Administração acerca da utilidade da informação contábil para a tomada de decisão. A metodologia deste estudo foi classificada como quantitativa, descritiva e pesquisa de levantamento. Como instrumento de coleta de dados, utilizou-se um questionário, contendo 17 (dezessete) questões fechadas, validado por 3 (três) professores da área e aplicado de forma eletrônica, no período entre março e abril de 2022. A população foi de 302 acadêmicos matriculados no curso de Administração de uma universidade comunitária de Santa Catarina em 2022/1 e a amostra foi de 102 respondentes, que corresponde a 33,77% da população. Os dados foram tabulados por meio do Google Formulários® e a técnica de análise utilizada foi a estatística descritiva, conforme a distribuição de frequência relativa. Como principais resultados, foi possível perceber que, de maneira geral, os acadêmicos consideram as informações contábeis importantes no processo decisório. Além disto, os participantes do estudo percebem que para ser utilizada de forma eficaz pelos tomadores de decisão e ser considerada um recurso estratégico, a informação deve ser gerada de acordo com as necessidades dos usuários. Por fim, conclui-se que a utilidade da informação contábil para a tomada de decisão é um ponto importante na vida não somente dos acadêmicos do curso de Administração, mas também relevante no dia a dia das organizações.

O diagnóstico de Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção e Hiperatividade – TDAH é bastante complexo, podendo ser influenciado por fatores contextuais, e seu tratamento pode envolver diferentes intervenções. A participação dos usuários nas decisões a respeito do tratamento vem sendo promovida por instituições de diversos países e, no Brasil, é prevista pelas legislações do Sistema Único de Saúde. Este estudo investigou o processo de tomada de decisão no tratamento de crianças com indicadores de TDAH a partir da percepção de oito profissionais de serviços públicos de saúde mental, que foram entrevistados individualmente. Os dados foram examinados através da análise temática, revelando desafios relativos ao excesso de demanda nos serviços e à complexidade do processo diagnóstico. O envolvimento de usuários e familiares nas decisões foi percebido como parcial, ocorrendo geralmente após a elaboração do plano terapêutico pelas equipes, e envolvendo dificuldades na comunicação entre profissionais e pacientes e divergências de interesses entre as crianças e seus familiares. Esses aspectos poderão ser abordados em futuros estudos e intervenções a fim de facilitar e melhorar a qualidade da tomada de decisão nesse contexto.

Objetivo: Investigar de que forma a utilização das ferramentas contábeis gerenciais refletem na gestão de uma clínica multiprofissional na cidade de Guarapuava (PR). Método: Foi aplicado um questionário estruturado em três blocos aos colaboradores dos setores administrativo, financeiro e contábil. O bloco 1 versava sobre as ferramentas contábeis gerenciais, o bloco 2 sobre a importância atribuída a essas ferramentas, neste bloco, as ferramentas foram segregadas em controles operacionais, demonstrações contábeis, métodos de custeio e outros artefatos gerenciais. No bloco 3 foi realizada uma entrevista semiestruturada, em que cada colaborador comentou sobre sete proposições relacionadas a sua percepção acerca das ferramentas e dos reflexos delas na gestão e tomada de decisão. Resultados: Os resultados indicam que a Contadora e a Controller desempenham um papel importante na tomada de decisão dentro da clínica multiprofissional. De modo geral, as ferramentas contábeis gerenciais são utilizadas para visualizar o andamento do negócio e, em contrapartida, contribuem para a tomada de decisão e gestão empresarial. Observou-se que os controles operacionais são os mais utilizados e que nem todos os colaboradores entendem as informações contidas nos relatórios contábeis, tendo em vista que atuam no segmento administrativo/contábil, porém apresentam formação acadêmica em outra área. Contribuições: De forma prática, este artigo busca evidenciar que as ferramentas contábeis gerais são importantes na gestão das organizações, embora nesta pesquisa sua utilização não seja integral pelos colaboradores. Além disso, ressalta-se a importância de tais ferramentas à medida que os processos são detalhados e compreendidos de forma analítica. Ainda, dada a relevância dessas ferramentas, pretende-se com esta pesquisa contribuir para a literatura conforme novas pesquisas são desenvolvidas, ressaltando e aprofundando essa área de estudo.

Resumo A sociedade contemporânea convive com incertezas e vulnerabilidades que exigem a atuação dos sistemas regulatórios na fiscalização do comércio eletrônico de medicamentos não registrados e/ou falsificados. Investiga-se o trabalho dos profissionais da vigilância sanitária federal na fiscalização de medicamentos na internet e os elementos que orientam sua decisão técnica. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa qualitativa, do tipo estudo de caso único, ancorada na abordagem ergológica, entre dezembro de 2020 e setembro de 2021, por meio de entrevistas e observação participante. Os mapas ergodialógicos, elaborados no Atlas.ti, subsidiaram a análise das práticas discursivas classificadas conforme esquema tripolar saber-agir-valor, resultando em três categorias. O profissional é sempre convocado a fazer escolhas e gerir situações imprevisíveis, havendo inquietações sobre a capacidade institucional para compreender e agir sobre o problema. O trabalho adquire, assim, o sentido de “enxugar gelo”, em função do volume de demandas e dos poucos efeitos da fiscalização no mercado eletrônico de medicamentos. As normas, o conhecimento técnico, a experiência e a responsabilidade social, dentre outros elementos, estão presentes na tomada de decisão dos profissionais, conscientes de que, ao agir, protegem a saúde da população. Constata-se que diferentes saberes, científicos ou empíricos, podem qualificar melhor o sistema decisório na fiscalização, tornando-o mais efetivo, assertivo e transparente.

O artigo versou sobre o estudo da democratização da tomada de decisão dentro do ambiente organizacional da Mercur, na qual restou analisada a extensão do caráter democrático para além das relações envolvendo o Estado e o cidadão, fundamentando-se pelo estudo de caso realizado na dissertação de mestrado em Direito da Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul. A abordagem consistiu em apresentar uma contextualização acerca do cenário do Constitucionalismo Contemporâneo e o papel central da democracia, tendo por sequência a análise dos postulados teóricos da democracia participativa a partir da teoria de Pateman. Por fim, buscou-se retratar a racionalidade do processo de tomada de decisão, referenciando a Mercur com objetivo de avaliar e se a tomada de decisão da referida organização atende os pressupostos da democracia participativa e dos fundamentos organizacionais. Aplicou-se como método o modelo hipotético-dedutivo, percorrendo procedimentos de revisão bibliográfica. Constatou-se a confirmação da hipótese alcançada, qual seja, a de ser a experiência de descentralização da tomada de decisão da Mercur um modelo de gestão democrática, indo ao encontro dos parâmetros traçados por Pateman e autores que tratam da gestão organizacional, encaminhando-se para uma possível ideia de participação plena, de forma a se alinhar aos preceitos constitucionais previstos na Constituição Federal de 1988.

Despite the acknowledged importance of interdisciplinarity in biodiversity conservation, there is still resistance to incorporate social science research (SSR) to both conservationist thinking and practice. The reasons for such a resistance can be summarized in three general statements still commonly attributed to SSR, namely: it is of 'little use' and it has 'less methodological rigor' than research in the natural sciences and, above all, it is unreliable because 'people lie'. The current essay was developed based on the experience of participants of a community of practice (formed by professionals from different fields and sectors associated with conservation), as well as on discussions held in this space of collective learning. It addresses the limitations and misconceptions behind the aforementioned statements. SSR is not less useful in conservation and not less methodologically rigorous than research conducted in the natural sciences. When researchers are lied to, the problem does not lie on the research itself, but on the subject-researcher relationship. We herein argue that as conservationists become more familiar with SSR, and as principles like equity and justice are incorporated to conservation values and goals, both the importance and need of SSR in conservation become obvious, making the lack of trust between researcher and subjects no longer a significant concern. Increasing capacity, integrating and supporting are our basic recommendations for researchers, educators, managers and decision-makers in the conservation, teaching, publishing and funding fields, so that SSR can fully fulfill its role in conservation.

A computação em nuvem é um tema de destaque na computação e tem por objetivo prover recursos computacionais sob demanda por meio da Internet. Muitas organizações já adotaram as tecnologias em nuvem, outras ainda analisam a viabilidade dessa migração. O objetivo deste artigo é indicar qual modelo de implantação de computação em nuvem é o mais apropriado para ser adotado em uma Diretoria de Tecnologia da Informação e Comunicação de uma instituição de ensino pública. Para tanto, utiliza-se o método de análise multicritério AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) para auxiliar na tomada de decisão. Primeiramente, baseado nos trabalhos relacionados da literatura, elabora-se a estrutura hierarquizada de critérios e subcritérios; em seguida, aplicam-se questionários com a equipe de trabalho para priorizar os fatores em níveis de importância e por fim seleciona-se a alternativa. Como resultado, o critério segurança é indicado com maior relevância, seguido de disponibilidade, escalabilidade e, por último, o custo. A alternativa considerada como adequada para a diretoria é a nuvem híbrida. Conclui-se que o método AHP se mostrou eficiente para avaliar a complexidade dos diversos critérios envolvidos.

Purpose: This teaching case illustrate the use of concepts and implications associated with capital structure, cost of third-party capital, financial leverage, and bankruptcy costs to support strategic decision-making by the management of a publicly-held company (Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional - CSN) listed on Brazil Stock Exchange and Over-the-Counter Market ([B]³ Stock Exchange) and on the New York Stock Exchange. Method: Data were obtained through financial reports, such as the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Explanatory Notes, and also from consultations with Management Reports, material facts disclosed, and also media facts. Main Results: The case guides a decision by the company in the short term, such as investing in operational performance, renegotiating terms, selling assets, and carrying out an Initial Public Offering of a subsidiary. Relevance / Originality: This teaching case innovates by illustrating the economic and financial situation of a company, involving issues such as operational performance, cash generation and capital structure for the decision-making process. Such analysis is important both for the academic and organizational contexts because it is a theoretical application in a real company. Theoretical / Methodological Contributions: The case contributes to a more in-depth analysis of the consequences of excessive indebtedness linked to low cash generation by an entity, the impact of debt costs on the company’s results and management attitudes towards the excess of indebtedness. This teaching case describes how an unexpected situation affects the decision-making process within public organizations, which in this case situation, occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing a scenario composed of factors that influence the decision-making and the evaluation of managers when facing conflicting interests around a health crisis. In the case in question, the pandemic context placed the public manager before complex decisions: on one side were the economic interests defended by the Federal Government and the business class; on the other side were the groups (scientists, society, social movements) that defended social isolation and restrictions as effective measures against the spread of COVID-19. The educational objective is to encourage a discussion and develop students' analytical capacity on decisions in public management, focusing on the bounded rationality approach and the moral dimension in the decision-making process.

Enquadramento: A triagem de prioridades caracteriza-se por um complexo processo de tomada de decisão que visa avaliar a gravidade clínica. Objetivo: Analisar relações entre as características socioprofissionais dos enfermeiros de um serviço de urgência e a perceção das competências de tomada de decisão na triagem. Metodologia: Estudo descritivo-correlacional e transversal. A amostra foi de 47 enfermeiros e para a recolha de dados recorreu-se ao Triage Decision Making Inventory, versão portuguesa. Resultados: Na perceção das competências de tomada de decisão, as características cognitivas/confiança na habilidade obtiveram a média mais elevada (4,94 ± 0,420) e a Intuição a média mais baixa (4,44 ± 0,697). Observaram-se correlações significativas entre as características cognitivas/confiança na habilidade, intuição, pensamento crítico do triador e o tempo de experiência no serviço de urgência, bem como, entre a idade do triador, a experiência profissional e as características cognitivas/ confiança na habilidade. Conclusão: A tomada de decisão na triagem é influenciada positivamente pela experiência no serviço de urgência, sendo as características cognitivas/confiança na habilidade as competências mais valorizadas pelos enfermeiros.

Objetivo: investigar as motivações, o perfil e as competências do indivíduo que escolhe empreender; promover a reflexão acerca do posicionamento do empreendedor perante uma grande crise; e buscar resposta para a questão: ser digital influencer é ser empreendedor? Metodologia/ Abordagem: caso de ensino. Principais resultados: nas “notas de ensino”, são sugeridas discussões sobre o empreendedorismo, propriamente dito, o uso do modelo de negócio e a internacionalização de pequenas empresas. Contribuições teórico metodológicas: a própria estrutura do caso contribui metodologicamente para a dinâmica em sala de aula, constituindo-se uma ferramenta a mais de aprendizagem do assunto em questão. Relevância/originalidade: o caso é relevante porque retrata a história de um empreendedor (Breno) que, após realizar seu sonho e criar um negócio promissor (uma agência de viagens), em decorrência de uma grande crise (Covid-19, lockdown e seu impacto no segmento de viagens, bem como a depressão e sentimento de impotência por ela gerados), precisa se reinventar profissionalmente (tornando-se um bem-sucedido consultor on-line para empreendedores). Com o fim da pandemia e a retomada dos negócios, surge o impasse: permanecer como digital influencer ou reativar a antiga empresa (pois o turismo voltou a crescer)? Contribuições sociais para a gestão: o caso retrata a realidade do empreendedor no Brasil e traz questionamentos sobre a regulamentação da profissão de digital influencer.

Handball is characterised by rapid transitions between offensive and defensive actions during the game in order to score goals. The level of declarative tactical knowledge (DTC) and physical fitness (FPA) of the athlete can influence performance. This study aimed to analyse the correlation between the level of CTD and APF of handball athletes. The sample population involved 16 athletes aged 16.69 (±0.60) years, male, chosen by convenience. We used the Sport Brazil Project and CTD protocols. The body mass index of the analysed group had an average of 24.05 (± 5.71), indicating eutrophy and the waist-to-height ratio had an average of 0.82 (± 0.13), a healthy zone. Regarding the fitness level of the athletes, we identified weak levels for agility (100%), very good for flexibility (62.5%), good for lower limbs strength (62.5%), very good for upper limbs strength (50%), good for cardiorespiratory resistance (68.8%), reasonable for localised muscle resistance (37.5%) and weak for speed (100%). The CTD level was poor and evolving with a mean of 2.50 (± 1.03). The components of APF and CTD did not show significant correlations. In recent decades, the intensification of migrations due to political, religious, economic, and environmental reasons points to the need for joint responses between the territories of origin, transit, and destination of displaced individuals, also requiring an articulation between the local, national, regional, and supranational levels, and between governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental organizations. In this sense, we discuss the possibility of forming a global governance of migrations, from the perspective of multilevel governance and studies on regime formation, to analyze how international migrations instigate a new decision-making model. We also present initial empirical evidence from ongoing research on policies for welcoming international migrants and refugees in Brazil between 2010 and 2017. We analyze the actors involved and the articulations established between them, as well as the role of the central government and subnational units in the decision-making and implementation of public policies for international migrants and refugees in Brazil. Our initial hypothesis was that, in the Brazilian case, within the scope observed, there would be a dispersion of authority for the formulation and execution of public policies, from the central government to both supranational entities and subnational governments. Results of the analysis showed, however, that the governance arrangements identified in this theme show low adhesion of actors from central or subnational governmental spheres, weak institutionalization of policies, and social protection of a private, strongly assistencialist and philanthropic character, provided mainly by church entities, non-governmental organizations, and civil society associations. Decision making is a central issue in contemporary scientific-philosophical discussion. How the human being decides and acts has been a topic widely discussed in the most diverse areas of knowledge, with some interesting results, but still insufficient. Perhaps the most pertinent problem is whether thoughts can initiate and lead to action and, in this way, activate the corresponding motor command. In this article, using sport as a "laboratory", we will defend that mind cannot contribute to decision and action without proprioceptive consciousness, that is, without the motor maps that constrain, influence and, to a certain extent, determine decision making, initiation and conduct of action. We will argue that the body is the initiator of action, either directly, in the form of motor automatisms that express an intentionality of a particular body design, or indirectly, in the form of motor ideas that anticipate previously performed motor actions. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the decision patterns of project managers (PMs) in the Engineering and IT sectors and their choices regarding the dimensions of the Talent Triangle (TT), a tool created by the Project Management Institute (PMI). As for the methodological procedures, the Q Methodology was adopted, aiming to capture subjective aspects by suggesting to the participants that they establish the most priority items of the TT dimensions. The results point to a slight inclination to the strategic apex of the TT. The discussions presented emphasize a subject that is sometimes overlooked: decision making as a cognitive process with regard to project management. The impact that research has on society cannot be measured just by the amount of attention (citations) that research attracts. High-impact research is that which has high relevance for society, being useful to strengthen or modify its practices. For that, however, the decision-maker needs to address their demands and participate in the knowledge construction process, especially through the proper use of scientific findings. Thus, for the research to be relevant, the approximation between theory and practice is essential. It is in this context that I propose a reflection on the relevance of research and its connection with practice in the corporate world. I report that, despite extensive studies in the fields of management, corporate governance, and sustainability practices, we continue to face frequent corporate scandals. Police intelligence in Colombia executes a cycle comprising the activities of planning, collection, processing, analysis, dissemination, evaluation and feedback in order to advise the decision-making process of the institutional command and the national government. The article discusses the methodological characteristics of intelligence information analysis, based on a case design with descriptive scope and qualitative approach in three phases. The first phase compiles twenty-six cases of analysis that in the second phase were submitted to a process of review and validation by experts to select three successful cases. In the third phase, cognitive maps were constructed with emphasis on the representative and replicable features. The results show that there is no clarity in the decisional criteria used in the formulation of solution alternatives, the use and articulation of analysis techniques is restricted and there is confusion between analysis and police intelligence methods. It is concluded that police intelligence has successful cases of analysis, however, the analysts' reasoning is based on experience, so that the use of techniques and instruments is limited. A dialogue of scientific and empirical knowledge is recommended to raise the standards of intelligence reports. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
