58. Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma Improves Pregnancy Outcomes of Patients with Thin Endometrium Regardless Endometrial Thickening: Multicenter Retrospective Study with Elimination of Embryonic Confounders

Abstract

Objective:To determine whether endometrial thickening is an important factor for pregnancy outcomes in platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment for patients with thin endometrium.Methods:Data from the registry database of the Japan Gynecologic PRP Study Group from April 2019 to October 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. A total of 208 patients who underwent single blastocyst transfer (SBT) after PRP due to thin endometrium (¡8 mm) in their previous cycle were included in the study. Their pregnancy outcomes were compared with their own historical data before PRP infusion. The same patient group was then divided into 136 patients whose endometrium thickened after PRP and 72 patients whose endometrium did not, and the pregnancy outcomes of the two groups were compared. Furthermore, to eliminate embryonic confounding, 28 patients who had single euploid blastocyst transfer (SEBT) with preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) were selected from the same patient group and divided into two groups of 22 patients whose endometrium thickened and 6 patients whose endometrium did not, and the pregnancy outcomes were compared in the same method.Results:After PRP administration, the clinical pregnancy rate, live birth rate, and miscarriage rate were all significantly improved compared with the historical controls (34.1 vs 20.0, P<0.01; 22.6 vs 3.9, P<0.01; 33.8 vs 73.4, P<0.01). There were no statistically significant differences in the respective rates between the “thickened endometrium” group and the “unthickened endometrium” group in SBT group (36.0 vs 30.5%, P=0.43; 25.7 vs 16.7%, P=0.11; 28.5 vs 45.4%, P=0.16, respectively). Likewise, in the SEBT with PGT-A group, there were no statistically significant differences in results between the two groups (36.4 vs 50%, P=0.30; 36.4 vs 50%, P=0.30; 0 vs 0%, respectively).Conclusions:PRP administration to patients with thin endometrium improves pregnancy outcomes even when endometrial thickening is not achieved.

Abstract

A mesoionic N-heterocyclic carbene-gold(i) complex with a unique Au⋯H-C(methine) intramolecular hydrogen bonding interaction has been investigated in the solid state. The structure of this new neutral gold(i)-carbene was characterized by FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy, TGA, and X-ray diffraction techniques. Density functional theory (DFT) and atoms-in-molecule (AIM) analysis revealed that the gold-hydrogen bonding situation is more favored. Besides, the photophysical properties of the gold(i) complex were also investigated. This journal is © The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Abstract

The synthesis and the luminescence features of three gold(I)-N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes are presented to study how the n-alkyl group can influence the luminescence properties in the crystalline state. The mononuclear gold(I)-NHC complexes, [(L1)Au(Cl)] (1), [(L2)Au(Cl)] (2), and [(L3)Au(Cl)] (3) were isolated from the reactions between [(tht)AuCl] and corresponding NHC ligand precursors, [N-(9-acridinyl)-N’-(n-butyl)-imidazolium chloride, (L1.HCl)], [N-(9-acridinyl)-N’-(n-pentyl)-imidazolium chloride, (L2.HCl)] and [N-(9-acridinyl)-N’-(n-hexyl)-imidazolium chloride, (L3.HCl)]. Their single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals the influence of the n-alkyl groups on solid-state packing. A comparison of the luminescence features of 1–3 with n-alkyl substituents is explored. The molecules 1–3 depicted blue emission in the solution state, while the yellow emission (for 1), greenish-yellow emission (for 2), and blue emission (for 3) in the crystalline phase. This paradigm emission shift arises from n-butyl to n-pentyl and n-hexyl in the crystalline state due to the carbon-carbon rotation of the n-alkyl group, which tends to promote unusual solid packing. Hence n-alkyl group adds a novel emission property in the crystalline state. Density Functional Theory and Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory calculations were carried out for monomeric complex, N-(9-acridinyl)-N’-(n-heptyl)imidazole-2-ylidene gold(I) chloride and dimeric complex, N-(9-acridinyl)-N’-(n-heptyl)imidazole-2-ylidene gold(I) chloride to understand the structural and electronic properties.

Abstract

Hexaazatriphenylene (HAT) derivatives have attracted wide attention because of their electron‐deficient nature and unique self‐assembly properties. In this work, a facile synthesis method for obtaining HAT derivatives with alternating electron‐withdrawing nitrile and electron‐donating alkoxy groups (HATCNOCn) is proposed. Crystal structure analysis indicated that HATCNOCn forms a one‐dimensional columnar structure via strong π–π interactions. Density functional theory calculations revealed that the edge of HATCNOCn is divided into positively and negatively charged sites owing to the presence of alternating nitrile and alkoxy groups, which would induce strong π–π interactions. Thermal analysis and polarizing optical microscopy revealed that HATCNOCn exhibits columnar liquid‐crystal phases. Time‐resolved microwave conductivity measurements further demonstrated the photoconductive nature of HATCNOCn. Abstract

We present a rare intramolecular Au···H-C(sp3) hydrogen-bonding interaction and luminescent properties of a gold(I) carbene complex. The Au(I) complex [(L)Au(I)Cl] (1), where L = N-(9-anthracenyl)-N′-(heptyl)benzimidazol-2-ylidene, was prepared, and thermal, emission, and lifetime properties along with a density functional theory study have been considered. X-ray diffraction analysis of single crystals evidenced the solid-state structure of gold complex 1, which exhibited the expected linear coordination geometry. The n-heptane arm of L modulates the hydrogen-bonding interaction between Au(I) and the hydrogen atom of one of the CH2 moieties. The packing of the gold(I) carbene complex shows an interesting one-dimensional column in the solid state due to intermolecular Cl···H interactions. The blue emission of 1 in the 400-560 nm region has been tentatively ascribed to arise from intraligand and gold transitions, but the hydrogen-bonding interactions may also make partial contributions.

Side-chain polymer liquid crystals (PLC) containing oxadiazole (OXD) as an electron-transporting unit and amine moiety as a hole transporting unit showed stable LC behavior in comparison with the low-molecular-weight OXD analogues. Abstract

All-optical switching of selectivity reflected colors based on isomerization of an azobenzene (Azo) and subsequent change in transmittance was investigated in cholesteric liquid crystals (LCs), which reflect light in the visible region. A remarkable change in transmittance was observed when a probe light measured the photoinduced change in colors with the same handedness as the helical sense of the cholesteric LCs.
