Abstract

Urban development boundary (UDB) has always served as a crucial aspect of urban sprawl research. The objective of this paper is to investigate boundary delineation and carbon emission effects. Firstly, we examined the patterns of land use changes. Additionally, this paper utilized the FLUS model and land use carbon emission calculation model to delineate UDB and calculate carbon emission effects within UDB under typical scenarios. The research results are as follows: (1) Xuzhou city witnessed a significant increase in both forest land and construction land from 2010 to 2020. (2) Under the CPS, the area of cultivated land increased by 217.05 km2 compared to the NDS. The UDB area under the NDS and CPS was 971.50 km2 and 968.99 km2, respectively. (3) Compared to the NDS, the CPS led to a net carbon emission increase of 4759.93 t within the UDB. Therefore, we should enhance the carbon sequestration and emission reduction capacity of the agricultural system. Abstract

The purpose of this work is to study the effect of charging conditions on hydrogen damage. The effects of electrochemical hydrogen charging current density and time on hydrogen-induced blistering (HIB), cracking behavior, and mechanical properties of Q690 steel are studied by electrochemical hydrogen charging, microstructure observation, and slow strain rate tensile (SSRT) tests. The results show that HIB and internal cracks occur when the Q690 steel is charged at different current densities. The charging conditions have a significant effect on the HIB characteristics of the material and the morphology, number, size, and location of internal cracks. The geometrical parameters of blisters on the surface of Q690 steel are quantitatively evaluated, and deeper cracks are found at higher hydrogen concentrations. At high hydrogen charging current density (50 mA/cm2), due to the accumulation of a large number of hydrogen atoms and the precipitation of hydrogen, the active sites on Q690 steel surface increase dramatically, leading to the initiation of a large number of blisters. At this time, high current density is responsible for the initiation of blisters. The relationship between hydrogen charging current density and mechanical properties of Q690 steel is studied, and the change in the fracture morphology is observed. The Q690 steel was damaged and failed due to an internal crack caused by excessive hydrogen pressure. On the other hand, electrochemical hydrogen charging leads to the degradation of mechanical properties and the transition from ductile fracture to brittle fracture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

With the acceleration of urbanization and industrialization, coal cities in China are suffering from the conflicts between urban construction and coal mining (land- mining). Land-mining conflicts in coal cities have caused serious destruction of land resources and the aggravation of ecological and economic conflicts. In order to deal with the land-mining conflict, we proposed a new three-dimensional spatial analysis framework to overall plan the underground coal exploitation and aboveground land use based on economic comparative advantage and value equilibrium theory. First, estimating aboveground land resource value (LP) and underground coal resource value (MP), then comparing MP and LP by equilibrium analysis method to recognize three-dimensional development boundary. Last three boundaries derived were used to divide the study area into four parts (construction/mining-forbidden area, construction put-off/mining-limited area, construction limited/mining-put-off area and construction forbidden/mining area). Ji’ning, a typical Chinese land-mining conflict city, is taken as a case to verify the effectiveness of the new method. The results show that the amount of coal mining and urban construction area increased by about 2 times, the new method can resolve land-mining conflicts in coal cities. It can contribute to a better reference for the design of coal city regulation and control policies design.

Abstract

To improve the stability of sloping farmland, the optimal ratio parameter of composite soil was determined. Single and mixed composite soils were prepared with three improved materials of glutinous rice glue, wood fibres and coarse sand for indoor direct shear tests and pot experiments. Based on the different moisture and soil contents, the shear strength, cohesion, and internal friction angle of the composite soil were analyzed, and the proportioning parameters were adjusted according to the suitability of plant growth. Slope stability analysis was performed in combination with the actual case of slope farmland improvement. The research results show that (1) different soil improvement materials are affected by moisture in different sections. The maximum shear strengths of composite soil with glutinous rice glue, wood fibre, and coarse sand correspond to 11%, 14% and 32% of the optimal moisture content respectively. The change in the content of the modified material will affect the soil structure, and the shear strengths of the single composite soils are the highest when the content of the modified material are 1.5%, 5% and 15%. (2) According to the shear strength and the suitability of plant growth, the contents of the glutinous rice glue, wood fibre, and coarse sand of the mixed composite soil were determined by the optimal ratio parameters of 1.5%:2.5%:15%. (3)In this application, the minimum safety factor of mixed (1.5% glutinous rice glue, 2.5% wood fibre, and 15% coarse sand) composite soil is higher than that of single composite soil at slopes of 10°, 15°, and 20°. Under different water contents, the overall stability of the mixed composite soil slope improves.

Abstract

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the leading cause of cancer associated death worldwide. Ferroptosis is a newly defined form of regulated cell death characterized by the accumulation of lipid hydroperoxides and exerts an increased attention for cancer treatment. However, little is known about ferroptosis in CRC. In this study, through whole genome sequencing and external differential differentiated expression analysis, we identify CUL9 as a novel important modulator for ferroptosis in CRC. Here we demonstrated that CUL9 can binds p53 to ubiquitylate heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein C for degradation. Overexpression of CUL9 increases resistance to erastin-induced ferroptosis. Then, we discovered this resistance was mediated by CUL9-HNRNPC-MATE1 negative loop, which can provide us with a novel target to overcome drug resistance to ferroptosis activators. Finally, we found that targeting MDM2 was developed as an effective strategy to destroy precious drug-resistant CRC cells.

Abstract

In this work, zinc N,N-dimethyldithiocarbamate (ZDMC) was used to mediate the melt modification of polypropylene (PP) with 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate (HDDA) in an internal mixer in the presence of dicumyl peroxide (DCP). Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy analysis revealed that HDDA was directly grafted onto PP backbone. The dependence of torque on processing time indicated that the presence of ZDMC restrained the degradation of PP, and the end-torque value increased with the addition of ZDMC. Dynamic rheological measurement indicated that the modified PP possessed higher G' and lower tan δ low frequency, displaying an increase in η* and disappearance of Newtonian plateau in η*-ω plot, as well as larger radius of semicircle in Cole-Cole plot. All the rheological characterizations, together with the decreased gel content with the increase of ZDMC, confirmed the formation of long-chain branching. Subsequently, the foamability of the modified samples was investigated by one-step compression-molding process. The cellular structure and morphology of the obtained foams were observed by scanning electron microscopy, and the results showed that the addition of ZDMC decreased the cell size, increased the cell density, and brought about well-defined closed cell structure.
