Abstract

Spatiotemporal sculpturing of light pulse with ultimately sophisticated structures represents a major goal of the everlasting pursue of ultra-fast information transmission and processing as well as ultra-intense energy concentration and extraction. It also holds the key to unlock new extraordinary fundamental physical effects. Traditionally, spatiotemporal light pulses are always treated as spatiotemporally separable wave packet as solution of the Maxwell’s equations. In the past decade, however, more generalized forms of spatiotemporally nonseparable solution started to emerge with growing importance for their striking physical effects. This roadmap intends to highlight the recent advances in the creation and control of increasingly complex spatiotemporally sculptured pulses, from spatiotemporally separable to complex nonseparable states, with diverse geometric and topological structures, presenting a bird’s eye viewpoint on the zoology of spatiotemporal light fields and the outlook of future trends and open challenges., SCOPUS: ar.j, info:eu-repo/semantics/published

Abstract

Here, we include the data and code needed to reproduce the figures in " Programmable large-scale simulation of bosonic transport in optical synthetic frequency lattices". The data and codes include all that's needed to reproduce the figures in the main-text as well as the supplementary. The code and data is organized such that all of the data and code to reproduce each figure are in a stand-alone folder. In each folder, code for analysis and plotting is found along with data. Additionally, there is a "lib" folder that includes auxillary data processing code, and a "bin" folder, that contains a repository for all simulations. Some of the calculations require specific versions of Python packages. These can be found in the requirements.txt file.

70. RELIABILITY, VALIDITY AND FAVORABILITY OF SELECTED INDICATORS OF BEHAVIORAL CHANGE IN CHILDREN.

Abstract

THIS STUDY WAS DESIGNED TO DETERMINE THE RELIABILITY, VALIDITY, AND SOCIAL FAVORABILITY RATINGS OF 941 ITEMS THAT WERE THOUGHT TO BE DESCRIPTIVE OF CHANGE IN CHILDREN'S BEHAVIOR. THIS POOL OF ITEMS COULD THEN BE USED FOR SCALES MEASURING THE OUTCOME OF COUNSELING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH CHILDREN. THE VALIDATION AND CROSS-VALIDATION SAMPLES INCLUDED 50 PARENTS EACH WHO RATED THE ITEMS ACCORDING TO THEIR CHILD'S BEHAVIOR AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF TREATMENT AT THE RILEY CHILD GUIDANCE CLINIC. INDEPENDENT THERAPISTS ALSO RATED THE CHILD'S PROGRESS IN TREATMENT THROUGH THE RESULTS RECORDED BY THE CLINIC STAFF. A SEPARATE PARENT SAMPLE WAS USED FOR RATING SOCIAL FAVORABILITY OF THE ITEMS. CORRELATIONS OF RATINGS SHOWED THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE ITEMS INVESTIGATED WERE RELIABLE IN FAVORABILITY AND VALIDITY ON A TEST-RETEST RELIABILITY CHECK. THE VALIDITY OF THE ITEMS COULD NOT BE DEMONSTRATED BECAUSE A GIVEN ITEM APPEARED CLOSELY TIED TO THE PRESENTING PROBLEM OF THE CHILD. THE PROJECT IMPLICATIONS ARE THAT FOUR SCALES FOR MEASURING OUTCOMES OF TREATMENT FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIFIC PROBLEMS SHOULD BE DEVELOPED FROM THE ITEMS INVESTIGATED. (NS)

79. Differences between American Indian and Non-Indian Children Referred for Psychological Services.

The physical and social characteristics of 60 American Indian children referred for psychological services were compared to those of 60 matched, non-Indian controls. Indian children were more likely to suffer from a variety of physical and social handicaps that in all likelihood could affect their intellectual, emotional, behavioral, and learning status. Developed Vulnerable Child/Overprotecting Parent Scale to measure overprotecting versus optimal developmental stimulation tendencies for parents of physically vulnerable children. Items were administered to parents whose parenting techniques had been rated as either highly overprotective or as optimal by group of physicians and other professionals. Abstract

This data repository contains the information necessary to reproduce the main results of the paper “Deep physical neural networks enabled by a backpropagation algorithm for arbitrary physical systems”. The repository contains both the data required to generate the figures of the main manuscript and the supplemental material, as well as source code for running the experiments conducted in the paper. The repository is structured around each of the three physical systems (oscillating plate, analog transistor, and second harmonic generation) used to construct a physical neural network (PNN). In each folder, there is a README.txt file that summarizes the structure and content of the corresponding folder. Throughout the whole data repository, we have partitioned the source code for running the experiments from the code required to generate the figures from the experimental data by having separate Jupyter notebooks. The codes in this repository are presented for the purpose of reproducing the results in the main manuscript and supplementary material. For readers who are interested in developing their own applications of physics-aware training and physical neural networks, we recommend starting with our expandable code and its tutorial examples, available at the Github repository: https://github.com/mcmahon-lab/Physics-Aware-Training. Finally, the simulations, experiments, and generation of the figures were conducted in Python. Since some parts of the code require specific versions of Python packages to run, the required packages are specified in “requirement.txt”.

The 2-item impatience subscale of the Irritability and Impatience Scale constitutes the instrument of choice for assessing time urgency due to its relation to noncardiovascular health. This is because the 2-item impatience subscale of the Irritability and Impatience Scale correlated with health indices in the manner as the complete Irritability and Impatience Scale and the Time Urgency/Perpetual Activation scale. Whether anger and time urgency constitutes a separate or a single factor is still in question.

Abstract

A study of 30 Type A males and 30 Type A females to find if there are gender differences in Type A Behavior Pattern (TABP) subcomponent scores and in the achievement of Type A status showed that TABP males and females used separate subcomponent routes to some extent in attaining Type A status. Administration of an Augmented Structure Interview revealed that males scored higher than females in certain anger-related components but also scored higher in exaggerated interpersonal control, which disproved previous predictions.

While family history loaded factor 1, other life style variables loaded factor 2. A personality trait marked by lack of self-control, rather than family history, accounts for CHD risk.

Abstract

Scores of 40 hospitalized CHD patients on 11 Type A-related and 7 physical CHD risk factors were compared to those of 40 hospitalized non-CHD patients. Family history for CHD was the only physical risk factor for which a significant difference was found. CHD patients scored significantly higher on all seven interview-measured Type A and Type A subcomponent variables. Only two of the four Jenkins Activity Survey-measured Type A variables produced significant differences, with one higher for non-CHD subjects. It was concluded that some CHD risk scores also may be associated with other diseases, to the experience of being seriously ill, and/or to the experience of hospitalization.

Abstract

The scores of 40 hospitalized male coronary heart disease (CHD) patients, for seven traditionally employed physical CHD risk factors, were subjected to a confirmatory factor analysis that employed a LISREL program. An attempt was made to confirm a two-factor solution that involved family history as one factor, and smoking, serum cholesterol level, blood pressure, physical exercise, diet, and weight control as the second. The obtained goodness-of-fit index (.84) suggests that the two-factor solution is a moderately valid one. These findings raise the question whether many of the physical risk factors for CHD simply may be manifestations of a single behavioral characteristic, perhaps best described as 'lack of self-control.'
