The purpose of this cross-sectional study is to determine the association between yogurt consumption and lipid profiles in the general Chinese population. In this cross-sectional study, a total of 26,824 participants were included from Tianjin, China. Lipid profiles were determined by automated biochemical analyser. Yogurt consumption frequency was assessed by a validated food frequency questionnaire. Analysis of covariance was used to determine the association between daily yogurt consumption and lipid profiles. In the final multivariate model, daily yogurt consumption was negatively associated with triglyceride (TG) ( p for trend <0.001) and positively associated with high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ( p for trend = 0.02). There were no significant differences ( p for trend >0.05) between daily yogurt consumption and total cholesterol (TC) or low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Results suggested that higher daily yogurt consumption was negatively correlated with TG and positively correlated with HDL-C in the general Chinese population.

Previous studies have demonstrated adverse mental health effects of Pb exposure. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between consumption of preserved egg (PE), a high-Pb-containing food and depressive symptoms among adults in China. A sample of 25 213 adults (mean age 41·4 (sd 11·8) years; males, 53·9 %) in Tianjin, China, was studied in a cross-sectional analysis. Dietary intake including PE was assessed using a valid self-administered FFQ. Depressive symptoms were assessed using the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS). Objective: In order to study the effects of zinc and selenium on glucose and lipid metabolism and its molecular mechanism in diabetic rats., Methods: The Blood glucose, lipid and serum insulin were measured before and after the treatment, and the changes in gene expression among four groups were studied by mRNA differential display technique., Results: The blood glucose in DM + Zn group, DM + Se group decreased significantly than that before experiment; the levels of serum TG, TC, LDL-c and AI in DM + Zn group and DM + Se group were lower than those of DM group, while the serum HDL-c levels were higher. The serum insulin was also improved obviously. 31 cDNA fragments larger than 400 bp expressed differences in liver between DM + Zn group, DM + Se group and DM group were isolated, 19 of them expressed higher in DM + Zn group and DM + Se group, while the rest expressed higher in DM group., Conclusion: It is suggested that zinc and selenium supplementation could partially improve the disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism, and have an impact on some gene expression in diabetic rats, which may contribute to the regulating effects on its disorders of metabolism.

Objective: To clarify the clinicopathological spectrum and biologic behavior of unicystic ameloblastomas (UA)., Methods: Retrospective analysis of 33 UA was undertaken to relate clinicopathological variables to recurrence., Results: The clinical features of this series were in general agreement with that of the previous reports. UA tended to occur at an earlier age (mean 25.3 years), with a male predilection and predominant mandibular involvement (90.9%). Microscopically, the tumors demonstrated a generally monocystic growth pattern, with 8 being simple cystic, 10 comprising intraluminal nodules, and 15 exhibiting a conspicuous component of infiltrative tumor islands in the cyst capsule. Follow-up of 29 patients revealed 6 recurrences with an average interval of 7 years. Recurrence also related to histologic subtypes of UA, with those invading the fibrous wall having a rate of 35.7% but others 6.7%., Conclusions: Despite the fact that unicystic ameloblastoma may, in general, compare favorably with its solid or multicystic counterpart in terms of clinical behavior and response to treatment, the subsets of the maxillary lesions or tumors exhibiting mural invasion could have a high risk of recurrence.
