Abstract

Proteins, as the material basis of life, are the ultimate controller and direct performer of life activities. Most proteins perform their biological functions by binding to other proteins to form complexes. The identification of protein complexes can help people to better understand the organization and functions of the complexes, as well as the mechanisms of cells. At present, the rapid development of high-throughput experimental technology has led to huge amounts of protein-protein interaction (PPI) data. Many methods for computationally predicting protein complexes based on PPI data have been proposed. Different methods have their own characteristics and advantages, and they also have inherent drawbacks. Firstly, this paper classifies and comprehensively analyzes and reviews the existing protein complex prediction methods. Then, it introduces the commonly used evaluation indicators and main data sets in complex prediction, compares and analyzes the prediction performance of several representative methods. Finally, it summarizes state-of-the-art complex prediction methods, highlights future research directions, and puts forward several issues to be resolved in the future. It is hoped that through the analysis and comparison of various methods, this paper can provide some valuable guidance and future directions for users and researchers on using the existing methods and developing new methods of protein complex prediction.

82. First-principles studies on the electronic and contact properties of monolayer Ga2STe–metal contacts.

Abstract

Monolayer (ML) Janus III–VI compounds have attracted the use of multiple competitive platforms for future-generation functional electronics, including non-volatile memories, field effect transistors, and sensors. In this work, the electronic and interfacial properties of ML Ga2STe–metal (Au, Ag, Cu, and Al) contacts are systematically investigated using first-principles calculations combined with the non-equilibrium Green's function method. The ML Ga2STe–Au/Ag/Al contacts exhibit weak electronic orbital hybridization at the interface, while the ML Ga2STe–Cu contact exhibits strong electronic orbital hybridization. The Te surface is more conducive to electron injection than the S surface in ML Ga2STe–metal contact. Quantum transport calculations revealed that when the Te side of the ML Ga2STe is in contact with Au, Ag and Cu electrodes, p-type Schottky contacts are formed. When in contact with the Al electrode, an n-type Schottky contact is formed with an electron SBH of 0.079 eV. When the S side of ML Ga2STe is in contact with Au and Al electrodes, p-type Schottky contacts are formed, and when it is in contact with Ag and Cu electrodes, n-type Schottky contacts are formed. 99. Quantum fidelity for degenerate groundstates in quantum phase transitions

Abstract

Spontaneous symmetry breaking mechanism in quantum phase transitions manifests the existence of degenerate groundstates in broken symmetry phases. To detect such degenerate groundstates, we introduce a quantum fidelity as an overlap measurement between system groundstates and an arbitrary reference state. This quantum fidelity is shown a multiple bifurcation as an indicator of quantum phase transitions, without knowing any detailed broken symmetry, between a broken symmetry phase and symmetry phases as well as between a broken symmetry phase and other broken symmetry phases, when a system parameter crosses its critical value (i.e., multiple bifurcation point). Each order parameter, characterizing a broken symmetry phase, from each of degenerate groundstates is shown similar multiple bifurcation behavior. Furthermore, to complete the description of an ordered phase, it is possible to specify how each order parameter from each of degenerate groundstates transforms under a symmetry group that is possessed by the Hamiltonian because each order parameter is invariant under only a subgroup of the symmetry group although the Hamiltonian remains invariant under the full symmetry group. Examples are given in the quantum $q$-state Potts models with a transverse magnetic field by employing the tensor network algorithms based on infinite-size lattices. For any $q$, a general relation between the local order parameters is found to clearly show the subgroup of the $Z_q$ symmetry group.
