Abstract

The phase diagram of Go-rich Sm-Go-Ti system was obtained by X-ray diffraction analysis and magnetic measurement. It was found that there exist three series of compounds, SmCo7-xTix, Sm2Co17-xTix and SmCo12-xTix. The formation ranges for these three series are 0.32 less than or equal tox less than or equal to0.54, 0 less than or equal tox less than or equal to1.13 and 1.45 less than or equal tox less than or equal to1.95, respectively. The 3:29 phase was not found after annealing Sm9.31Co90-xTix(3 less than or equal tox less than or equal to 15) prepared with an excess Sm of 15%, 20% and 25% added, at temperatures ranging from 1303 to 1403 K. It was also found that the Curie temperatures T-C and saturation magnetization M-s decrease with increasing Ti content for both SmCo12-xTix and Sm2Co17-xTix compounds. Below T-C, the uniaxial and planar anisotropies were observed for Sm2Co17-xTix and SmCo12-xTix compounds, respectively. The anisotropy fields B-a measured at 1.5 K for both SmCo12-xTix and Sm2Co17-xTix compounds as a function of Ti content exhibits a peak at certain compositions, which is thought to be associated with the preferential substitution of Ti for Co.

70. Self-assembled organic–inorganic composite superlattice thin films incorporating photo- and electro-chemically active phosphomolybdate anion

Abstract

A highly ordered multilayer film was formed by casting chloroform solutions of an ionic complex between a dimethyldioctadecylammonium (DODA) and a phosphomolybdate anion PMo12O403− (PMo12) on a glassy carbon electrode and solid substrates (CaF2, quartz, and borosilicate glass). A well-ordered lamellar superlattice structure was identified by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) experiments. IR spectra showed that the Keggin structure of the phosphomolybdate anion is preserved in the composite film. The superlattice film showed good photochromic and electrochemical properties. Irradiated with UV light, the transparent film changed from colorless to blue. Then, bleaching occurred when the film was in contact with ambient air or O2 in the dark. A possible photochromic mechanism was proposed according to electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), UV–vis spectra, and related literature. The electrochemical behavior of the composite film was also examined by cyclic voltammetry in detail.

73. Inclusion complex of spironaphthoxazine with gamma-cyclodextrin and its photochromism study.

Abstract

An environmentally benign transparent photochromic film, 1,3-dihydro-1,3,3-trimethylspiro[2H-indole-2,3'-[3H]-naphtho[2,1-b][1,4]oxazine] (SPO) /gamma-cyclodextrin (gamma-CD), was prepared using the cast-coating method, and the nanocavity effect of gamma-CD on the photochromism of SPO was studied. The film mainly consists of the inclusion complex SPO@gamma-CD, which has been verified by EA, TGA, XRD, MS, and ICD to comprise a 1:1 host-guest stoichiometry. The film shows normal photochromism. The decoloration of photomerocyanine (PMC) fits biexponential decay: PMCs located in the cavity of gamma-CD decay with a rate constant of 6.0 x 10(-2) s(-1), which is nearly one order faster than those PMCs outside of the cavity.
