Abstract

The sol–gel process for fabricating electrochromic thin films is straightforward, offering advantages such as low cost and ease of compositional control. Herein we prepared GO–Bi–WO3 films with improved electrochromic performance using a simple sol–gel spin-coating method. The sample shows a fast-switching time (1.8 s for coloring and 1.8 s for bleaching), large optical modulation (85% at 630 nm), excellent stability (86.4% retention after 10 200 cycles), and high coloration efficiency (65.9 cm2 C−1). This work indicates the electrochromic performance of WO3-based films can be enhanced by incorporating GO, which provides an effective strategy for the rapid, safe, and efficient fabrication of electrochromic thin films. Abstract

Developing non-noble-metal electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reactions with high activity and stability is the key issue in green hydrogen generation based on electrolytic water splitting. It has been recognized that the stacking of large CoP particles limits the intrinsic activity of as-synthesized CoP catalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction. In the present study, N-Mo x C/CoP-0.5 with excellent electrocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution reaction was prepared using N-Mo x C as decoration. A reasonable overpotential of 106 mV (at 10 mA cm−2) and a Tafel slope of 59 mV dec−1 in 1.0 M KOH solution was achieved with N-Mo x C/CoP-0.5 electrocatalyst, which exhibits superior activity even after working for 37 h. Uniformly distributed ultrafine nanoclusters of the N-Mo x C/CoP-0.5 hybrids could provide sufficient interfaces for enhanced charge transfer. The effective capacity of the hydrogen evolution reaction could be preserved in the complex, and the enlarged electrocatalytic surface area could be expected to offer more active sites for the reaction. Abstract

Magnetic particle imaging (MPI) is a burgeoning imaging modality that facilitates the reconstruction of position and concentration of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles. Its potential in clinical applications is substantial, leading to an increasing demand for larger bore sizes in MPI systems. However, the challenge lies in maintaining high resolution, sensitivity, and real-time imaging advantages in larger systems. In this article, we present the design of a 3-D MPI system tailored for nonhuman primates (NHP-MPI) with a bore size of 190 mm. The application of a 3-D digital-scanned focus field is applied to obtain highly sensitive imaging, and the system operates cooling-free under low gradient conditions. In imaging experiments involving a macaque’s brain, our system demonstrated good quantitative performance. The 3-D MPI image yielded satisfactory results for fusion with other structural imaging modalities.

Abstract

To establish a highly sensitive time-resolved fluorescence immunoassay (TRFIA) of kidney injury molecule-1 (Kim-1) and evaluate its clinical value in acute kidney injury (AKI).The Kim-1-TRFIA was established by the double-antibody sandwich method, and the method was evaluated. The established Kim-1-TRFIA was used to detect the concentration of Kim-1 in the serum of healthy controls and patients with AKI.The optimal coating antibody concentration and optimal EuA highly sensitive Kim-1-TRFIA was established. With this immunoassay, a good differential diagnosis can be made, and healthy people and AKI patients can be differentiated by detecting the concentration of Kim-1 in the serum. Moreover, the severity of AKI patients can be determined.
