With the incidence of TB on the rise, despite rare involvement in the feet, TB can be difficult to diagnose in the feet leading to delayed treatment and severe complications. A 67 year old women presented at our outpatient clinic with a spontaneously occurring abscess and pain of the right foot. Initially, she was treated for a gout attack. However, after four months, X-ray and MRI imaging revealed extensive osteomyelitis and bony destruction of the midfoot. Diagnosis was established through tissue biopsy. She was treated with anti-tubercular therapy for 10 months during which the foot was immobilized in a total contact cast. Stabilization of the foot was achieved by two-stage operation utilizing fusion beams commonly used in het treatment of Charcot arthropathy. Tuberculosis of the foot can be difficult to diagnose, therefore a high level of suspicion is recommended for cases not responding to conventional therapy, even in the Western world. Early recognition and treatment with anti-tubercular therapy, the cornerstone in TB treatment, can prevent permanent damage. Surgical reconstruction is reserved for the most severe cases to correct deformity and prevent disability.

Introduction: Safe drinking water and sanitation are indispensable to sustain life and health, adequate, safe, and accessible water supply are fundamental to the dignity of all. This study determined the physico-chemical and bacteriological quality of water supplied to the fragile community in Nakivale Refugee Base Camp, Southwestern Uganda. Methodology: Physico-chemical properties were measured in situ using Hanna Instrument HI 98129. Multiple tube technique was employed to determine the presumptive coliform counts. Positive samples for coliforms were incubated at 44oC for 48 hours in Single Strength MacConkey broth. Only positive samples were followed by conventional biochemical tests of indole, motility, and citrate to identify E. coli. Results: The mean temperature, Total dissolved solids, pH, and electrical conductivity for both the water sources and household water samples were 23.79±1.04oC and 25.25±0.38, 289.07±153.45 and 433.31±519.13, 7.81±0.31 and 6.65±0.35 and 547.8±315.73 and 768.52±397.71 respectively. Among the water sources sampled, 43% (13) were contaminated with total coliform bacteria, and 10% (3) were positive for E. coli. 90% of household samples were contaminated with coliform bacteria with 11% positivity for E. coli. 61% (103) of the participants did not use water treatment. 19% (32) used boiling and 19% (32) used chlorination methods while 1% used filtration. Conclusion: Physico-chemically, all water samples had temperatures above the WHO guidelines for palatable water i.e.

Leadership is vital to state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines. This study aims to determine the quality of education in Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF), Iloilo, Philippines, as perceived by school leaders and administrators. This study employed a descriptive correlational design and the researcher-made questionnaire as the tool was used. There were 52 respondents: Presidents, VPs, Deans, Department Chair, and Program Coordinators. There were factors utilized in this study, "Vision, Mission, Values Focus," "Administration and Leadership," Context and Curriculum," "faculty Development," "Physical Plan and other Learning Resources," "Budget Allocation," "governance and Management," and "Students Services." The statistical tools were descriptive and inferential. Among the eight factors, educational qualification with units and doctoral Administration and Leadership ranked first, and doctorate degrees, "Administration and Leadership," and "Governance and Management," were tied in the first rank. While in training, rank 1 was "Administration and Leadership" and "Faculty Development for 1-5 training and 6-10 training, respectively. Also, in terms of faculty rank, Associate Professor III to V, rank one was "Administration and Leadership." These factors were almost classified as "Good" by the key official, but "Administration and Leadership" were "Excellent. Furthermore, all eight factors were insignificant in terms of educational attainment, training attended, and rank. In leadership, educational qualification, training attended, and rank is essential factors in quality education in ISCOF. Background: Poisoning is a major public health problem and due to industrialization and urbanization, its incidence is on a major rise and it may be poisoning, suicidal, accidental, or homicidal. It is extremely important for physicians to have the knowledge of common suicidal poisons in a particular locality as it may help in the early diagnosis and management of acute poisoning case s. Therefore, this study was conducted to know the clinical spectrum of acute poisoning cases in and around Mangaluru and the effectiveness of decontamination procedures. Methods: 100 patients admitted in the intensive care units and wards of the General Medicine department were observed in this study. Details of each of these patients like presenting complaints, time of onset of the symptoms, addictive habits, and the nature of poisons consumed were noted. Clinical parameters such as whether stomach wash was given or not, the time lapse between the consumption of poison and stomach wash, the time lapse between the consumption of poison and stomach wash and death of the patients, duration of hospital stay, psychiatric condition of the patient and overall mortality rate of poisoning cases, were observed in this study. Results and Conclusion: The present study shows that organophosphate poisoning is the commonest type of poisoning. Nausea or vomiting is the most common symptom. There is a significant correlation between the time elapsed between the consumption of poison and stomach wash and mortality. We described the impact of alcohol use on longitudinal engagement in HIV care including loss to follow-up, durability of viral suppression, and death. We followed a cohort of 1781 people with HIV from enrolled in care at one of seven US clinics, 2011–2019 through 102 months. We used a multistate, time-varying Markov process and restricted mean time to summarize engagement in HIV care over follow-up according to baseline self-reported alcohol use (none, moderate, or unhealthy). Our sample (86% male, 54% White) had median age of 35 years. Over 102 months, people with no, moderate, and unhealthy alcohol use averaged 62.3, 61.1, and 59.5 months virally suppressed, respectively. People who reported unhealthy or moderate alcohol use spent 5.1 (95% confidence intervals (CI): 0.8, 9.3) and 7.6 (95%CI: 3.1, 11.7) more months lost to care than nondrinkers. Compared to no use, unhealthy alcohol use was associated with 3.4 (95%CI: −5.6, −1.6) fewer months in care, not virally suppressed. There were no statistically significant differences after adjustment for demographic and clinical characteristics. Moderate or unhealthy drinking at enrollment in HIV care was associated with poor retention in care. Alcohol use was not associated with time spent virally suppressed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Weight gain after pancreas transplant is a poorly understood phenomenon thought to be related to increased posttransplant insulin production, immunosuppressive medications, and appetite changes. No study has investigated the effect of increased exocrine secretion posttransplant. Aims and Hypothesis: We hypothesized that exocrine function, measured by fecal elastase-1 (FE-1), was normal posttransplant and not correlated with weight gain. Our primary aim was to investigate changes in FE-1 levels with pancreas transplantation and to correlate this with weight gain. Establishing weight trends and identifying additional correlating factors were secondary aims. Design: Forty-two patients that underwent simultaneous pancreas and kidney or pancreas after kidney transplant at a single center between 2013 and 2021 were included. Fecal elastase was measured prospectively in each patient at a single time point, with >500 µg/g categorized as high. Weight and C-peptide values were obtained. All the patients were on steroid-free immunosuppression. Results: Nineteen patients (45%) had fecal elastase levels >500 µg/g, with a maximum of 3910 µg/g; 43% had levels greater than twice the upper limit of normal. The biggest increase in weight occurred between years 1 and 2, which continued to a median weight gain of 14% at 3 years. There was no correlation between weight gain and FE-1, pretransplant C-peptide levels, or duration of diabetes. Conclusion: This study demonstrated supranormal fecal elastase levels and weight gain posttransplant; however, there was no correlation. Future study with serial FE-1 before and after transplant is needed to better assess its correlation with weight gain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study presents a comprehensive analysis of key aspects related to the distribution of Special Education Teachers (SPET) and receiving teachers, their awareness of inclusive education policies, their practices, and the barriers they face. Data collected from diverse educators shed light on age, gender, teaching experience, specialization, policy awareness, and inclusive practices. The study highlights the diverse age distribution among teachers handling the SPED program. Furthermore, it points out the prominence of female teachers in the workforce. A significant proportion of teachers possess limited teaching experience and a limited number of specialized SPED teachers. Regarding policy awareness, both Special Education Teachers (SPET) and receiving teachers clearly understand inclusive education policies. Inclusive practices among teachers were consistently observed, especially in admission, teaching, and modifying learning packages for learners with special needs. Identifying the lack of training as a major barrier in IE, there is a necessity for professional development to support effective inclusive practices. The findings underscore vital family support services, parental engagement in decision-making, and collaborative opportunities. Based on the findings, the researcher recommends targeted professional development for teachers, awareness campaigns on Indigenous Peoples' rights, encouraging specialization in SPED, strengthening collaboration, and expanding effective practices like the "Child Find" approach.

The 21st century requires students to have 4C skills, one of which is critical thinking skills. Learning at SMAN 1 Salimpaung is already oriented towards critical thinking skills, but it is still not optimal and the data regarding critical thinking skills is unknown. Therefore, data is needed regarding the analysis of students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to analyze the level of critical thinking skills of class XII students of SMAN 1 Salimpaung on the subject of inheritance. This research is a descriptive research. The research sample consisted of 30 students. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The instrument used in this study is in the form of essays on inheritance material which refers to aspects of critical thinking, Ennis (2011). The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the research that has been done, the critical thinking skills of class XII students of SMAN 1 Salimpaung are obtained, namely the indicator of formulating questions 40% (very low), analyzing arguments 46.67% (low), considering the credibility of sources 59.17% (low), induction 21.67% (very low), deduction 41.67% (very low), make and consider decisions 20% (very low), make terms and definitions 40.83% (very low) and determine an action 24 .17% (very low) to obtain a general average of 36.53%. The conclusion of this study is that the level of critical thinking skills of class XII students of SMA Negeri 1 Salimpaung is generally still in the very low category.

Background: Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease characterized by damage of cartilage in the joints and subchondral bones that cause pain in a joint. Aim: To describe the patients’ profile of osteoarthritis at the Dr Zainoel Abidin Hospital Banda Aceh. Material and Methods: A retrospective observational descriptive study on osteoarthritis patients who were treated at the Orthopaedic Clinic of RSUDZA Banda Aceh for the period March 2020 to February 2022. Results: Two years of observation yielded a total of 397 osteoarthritis patients. Most cases are in female patients (63.4%), with the majority of those in the age bracket >55 years (61.9%), with the majority of patients being from Banda Aceh City (37.2%). The most diagnoses are knee OA, which is 330 patients (82.9%) and hip OA, which is 39 patients (9.9%). Only 108 patients received surgery, operations for knee OA, total knee replacement were 78 patients (23.63%), while for hip OA patients who needed total hip teplacement surgery there were were 26 patients (66.66%) and partial hip replacement was 4 patients (10.25%). Conclusion: Osteoarthritis often occurs in female patients and mostly in the patient age group >55 years. Indications for surgery in OA are based on symptoms, stage of OA, and patient-related factors such as age, level of physical activity, and patient comorbidities.

Resumen: Introducción y objetivos: La enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal (EII) es un grupo de trastornos intestinales crónicos que detonan una prolongada inflamación del conducto digestivo. Su prevalencia y su incidencia parecen estar creciendo en la población africana y en Egipto. El presente estudio pretende señalar el patrón y manejo de la EII en pacientes egipcios. Materiales y métodos: Doscientos pacientes con EII fueron evaluados por colitis ulcerosa crónica idiopática (CUCI), con la escala de Mayo, y por enfermedad de Crohn (EC), con el índice de actividad de la enfermedad de Crohn (Crohn's disease activity index [CDAI]). Resultados: La edad promedio de los pacientes fue de 35 años, con predominancia de mujeres. La CUCI fue más común que la EC (88% y 12%, respectivamente), y la gravedad fue moderada en la mayoría de los casos. La mayoría de los pacientes con CUCI tuvieron lesiones izquierdas, mientras que la ileítis fue el hallazgo más común (37.5%) en los pacientes con EC. La proctitis fue el hallazgo menos común en ambas enfermedades, y se detectó enfermedad de Crohn fistulante en el 4.1% de los pacientes. De manera interesante, la artropatía periférica fue la manifestación extraintestinal más común en los pacientes con EII (70%) y la artropatía axial fue la menos común (6%). La afectación ocular grave o mucocutánea fue muy rara. Finalmente, se prescribió tratamiento biológico al 15.4% de los pacientes con CUCI y al 20.8% de los pacientes con EC. Conclusiones: Aunque la presentación clínica de la EII en Egipto es comparable a la reportada a nivel mundial, los diagnósticos fueron tardíos. Se encontraron menos casos de EC que de CUCI, pero con mayor gravedad de leve a moderada. La vigilancia de los pacientes con EII debe continuar y el conocimiento de la enfermedad en la comunidad médica egipcia debe crecer. También es importante establecer un registro nacional, realizar estudios multicentro, y se recomienda hacer diagnósticos moleculares. Abstract: Introduction and aims: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a group of chronic intestinal disorders that trigger prolonged inflammation of the digestive tract. Its incidence and prevalence appear to be increasing in the African population and in Egypt. The present study aims to highlight the pattern and management of IBD in Egyptian patients. Materials and methods: Two hundred patients with IBD were assessed for ulcerative colitis (UC), through the Mayo score, and for Crohn's disease (CD), with the Crohn's disease activity index (CDAI). Results: Median patient age was 35 years, with a predominance of females. UC was more common than CD (88% and 12%, respectively) and severity was moderate, in the majority of cases. Most UC patients had left-sided lesions, whereas ileitis was the most common finding (37.5%) in the CD patients. Proctitis was the least common finding in both diseases and Crohn's fistulizing disease was detected in 4.1% of the patients. Interestingly, peripheral arthropathy was the most common extraintestinal manifestation in the IBD patients (70%) and axial arthropathy was the least common (6%). Severe ocular or mucocutaneous involvement was very rare. Finally, biologic treatment was prescribed to 15.4% of the UC patients and 20.8% of the CD patients. Conclusions: Although the clinical presentation of IBD in Egypt is comparable to that reported worldwide, diagnoses were found to be delayed. There were fewer cases of CD than UC, but more mild-to-moderate disease severity. The surveillance of patients with IBD must continue and awareness of the disease in the Egyptian medical community needs to increase. A national registry must be established, multicenter studies need to be conducted, and molecular diagnostics is recommended.

AimsMultiligament knee injuries (MLKI) are devastating injuries that can result in significant morbidity and time away from sport. There remains considerable variation in strategies employed for investigation, indications for operative intervention, outcome reporting, and rehabilitation following these injuries. At present no study has yet provided a comprehensive overview evaluating the extent, range, and overall summary of the published literature pertaining to MLKI. Our aim is to perform a methodologically rigorous scoping review, mapping the literature evaluating the diagnosis and management of MLKI.MethodsThis scoping review will address three aims: firstly, to map the current extent and nature of evidence for diagnosis and management of MLKI; secondly, to summarize and disseminate existing research findings to practitioners; and thirdly, to highlight gaps in current literature. A three-step search strategy as described by accepted methodology will be employed to identify peer-reviewed literature including reviews, technical notes, opinion pieces, and original research. An initial limited search will be performed to determine suitable search terms, followed by an expanded search of four electronic databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and Web of Science). Two reviewers will independently screen identified studies for final inclusion.DisseminationWe will map key concepts and evidence, and disseminate existing research findings to the wider orthopaedic and sports medicine community, through both peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed literature, and conference and in-person communications. Introduction: Ambidextrous writers are very rare in a population and comprises less than 1% ambidextrous people in the world. Handwriting is one of the significant parameters, which can aid in identifying the handedness of a person. Since there has not been much research done on the handwriting of ambidextrous writers, more of the studies are required to explore this aspect of handwriting examination in forensic science. Material and Methods: Present descriptive study was done on the ambidextrous writers who can efficiently write with both the hands. The current study is a pilot study to compare the handwriting samples of ambidextrous writers. The handwriting samples from left and right hand were collected from ambidextrous writers. Quantitative data for slant, alignment, size of letters, spacing was extracted from the handwriting samples with the help of Digimizer software, online protractor and ruler. The data analysis was done using SPSS23. Result: There is no significant variations in size, alignment, spacing and slant of left and right handwriting of Ambidextrous writers. Conclusion: Based on the analysis, the study could not find significant variation between the parameters of handwriting from left and right hand of ambidextrous writers. The extended study can be helpful to the investigators when they are collecting the requested handwriting samples and hence to the forensic document examiners when they are examining the handwriting. Elective mathematics has been an extra mathematics subject for pilot students of Eduardo Barretto Sr. National High School for quite some time now. Through this, many alumni testified how this helped them understand senior high school and college math. However, the teachers have also been struggling with the resources for specific areas of mathematics, such as Business Math, Statistics, Analytic Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus. When the pandemic hit the Philippines, contextualized learning material aligned with the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) helped elective mathematics teachers. The contextualized learning material was developed from April to August 2020 and was first validated in February 2021 by the students who participated in the pilot testing. However, following the due process, it was suggested that I revalidate the IDEA-formatted Analytic Geometry and Trigonometry instructional material. It examines Eduardo Barretto Sr. National High School mathematics teachers and SDO Calamba City experts' evaluation of the content's topics, objectives, concepts, directions, and activities and the format's prints, illustrations, design, and layout. Participants' perceptions of learning material were assessed using a 4-point Likert Scale survey. Hence, descriptive quantitative design. Participants were surveyed using a 4-point Likert Scale to assess their learning content impression. The findings reveal that the participants found the format and content of the developed learning material to be very satisfactory. The indicators "localized" and "can be done independently" were viewed as Fair and Satisfactory, respectively. This research delves into the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly on educational institutions, necessitating the temporary closure of schools, which are primary learning environments for a vast number of students worldwide. In response to this challenge, the Department of Education (DepEd) in the Philippines implemented the Modular Distance Learning Modality (MDL), with a preference for this approach in many public schools across the country. MDL relies on printed and digital modules for instructional delivery. The primary objective of this research is to comprehensively assess the implementation of MDL for Grade 1 classes in selected public elementary schools in Santiago, Agusan del Norte. Specific goals include investigating stakeholder perspectives, identifying pedagogical needs for teacher support, measuring pupil competency in reading, writing, and numeracy, and formulating evidence-based recommendations for targeted catching-up programs. These programs aim to better prepare Grade 1 learners to transition to face-to-face classes, contributing valuable insights to educational policies and practices. Utilizing a descriptive research design incorporating both qualitative and quantitative techniques, this study investigates the lived experiences of teachers, tutors, and parents through interviews and focus group discussions. The findings reveal that a majority of Grade 1 pupils exhibit low or very low competencies in reading and numeracy while demonstrating above-average and excellent skills in writing. Recent years, evolving technologies have increased importance of data analytics and have extended the potential of using data-driven for decision-making process in different sectors as it has also been shown in civil aviation. The aviation industry supports $2.7 trillion (3.5%) of the world's GDP thus, it has always been seen to have an inherently strategic role. Propose of this study is an integrated model that combines descriptive analytics (multidimensional analytics) predictive analytics (data mining and more) and prescriptive analytics (MCDM/DEMATEL) in order to extract the critical factors for the improvement of airline baggage optimizations. The data has taken from Turkish Airlines which is one of the biggest 10 airlines in terms of the passenger number. Descriptive analytics results have set a precedent implication of multidimensional reports for service sector. In addition, rules that arise as outcomes of predictive analytics have really significant knowledge for marketing and planning department in civil aviation. Furthermore, they will help to solve some optimization problem in air transportation sector. Owing to prescriptive analytics, displayed results supported by the MCDM (DEMATEL) methods. The determination of the managerial efficiency of the heads of offices of DAR, particularly in the DAR municipal offices of Northern Negros Occidental, is found to be an imperative need, hence this study. For the establishment of an efficiently running agency, the level of work performance of the offices is also expected to be at par, and so is the necessity of its evaluation in this study. This descriptive research design used a researcher-made survey questionnaire with 87 personnel to answer and help determine the level of managerial efficiency of the 33 MARPOs. As to the work performance of the DAR offices, the same descriptive design was used utilizing document analysis which is the Office Performance and Commitment Review (OPCR) of the MARPOs and a checklist determined the challenges encountered by the agrarian reform offices in Part III of the questionnaire. As a whole, the level of managerial efficiency of the MARPOs is high, indicating that the MARPOs are capable and competent and have demonstrated excellence in performing their functions. Positively, the result of a high level of managerial efficiency is exhibited by the MARPOs in the discharge of their official functions and outstanding performance of the DARMOs over the years. Introduction: Many studies of Black–White disparities in living donor kidney transplantation hypothesize that they were partially due to Black–White differences in candidate social network access to healthy, willing donors. This differential access hypothesis has not been tested using directly measured social network data. Research Questions: Do black kidney transplant candidates have perceived lower social network access to health and/or willing living donors than white candidates? Design: A cross-sectional survey that measured the social network members was collected in 2015. Black–White differences in patient counts of perceived healthy and/or willing potential donors in social networks, and individual network members' probability of being perceived healthy and/or willing, were compared using logistic and negative binomial regression models. Results: The survey included 66 kidney transplant candidates reporting on 1474 social network members at a large Southeastern US transplant center in 2015. Black and White patients had similar access to perceived healthy, likely potential donors (86% vs 87% had 1 or more, P =.92; 5.91 vs 4.13 mean counts, P =.20) and perceived healthy, agreed potential donors (56% vs 48%, P =.54; 1.77 vs 1.74, P =.97). Black patients' network members were individually more likely to be perceived healthy and likely potential donors (26% vs 21%, P =.04), and White patients' network members were more likely to have agreed (13% vs 9%, P =.03), but these differences were statistically insignificant in demographically adjusted models. Conclusion: Black and White transplant candidates perceived access to similar numbers of potential donors in their social networks. This result does not support the differential access hypothesis. Introduction: Eculizumab is a monoclonal antibody that binds to complement protein C5, inhibiting complement-mediated thrombotic microangiopathy. It is approved for several indications including atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome. Additionally, eculizumab is used off-label for antibody-mediated rejection and C3 glomerulopathy in renal transplant recipients. Due to limited data available, the purpose of this study was to describe the use of eculizumab treatment in renal transplant recipients. Design: This retrospective single-center study evaluated the safety and efficacy of eculizumab for on- and off-label indications in renal transplant recipients. Adult renal transplant recipients receiving at least 1 dose of eculizumab posttransplant between October 2018 and September 2021 were included. The primary outcome evaluated was graft failure in patients treated with eculizumab. Results: Forty-seven patients were included in analysis. The median age at eculizumab initiation was 51 years [IQR 38-60], with 55% being female. Indications for eculizumab included atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome/thrombotic microangiopathy (63.8%), antibody-mediated rejection (27.7%), C3 glomerulopathy (4.3%), and other (4.3%). Graft failure occurred in 10 patients (21.3%) with a median of 2.4 weeks [IQR 0.5-23.3] from transplant to graft failure. At last follow-up (median 56.1 weeks), 44 (93.6%) patients were alive. After eculizumab initiation, renal function improved at 1 week, 1 month, and last follow-up. Conclusion: Eculizumab treatment demonstrated a benefit on graft and patient survival compared to reported incidence in thrombotic microangiopathy and antibody-mediated rejection. Critical thinking skills are developed by validating various information to develop new knowledge systematically in higher education practice activities that collect information, manage and make conclusions to verify the correctness of information, using various methods that make it possible to verify the correctness of information scientifically. In this era of digitalization, research is a much-needed part of society. Because research can provide education to the community in particular. Scientific writing is a paper that in the process includes the ability to think deeply about known concepts to produce new knowledge and understanding. The purpose of this study is to find out how much the level of understanding of students in the perspective of the world of writing scientific papers. Where the sample in this study is Sports science students from the UNIMED Faculty of Sports took part in this research. In this study the samples were taken using the aggregate sampling technique a total of 397 from the class of 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. In the instrument using questionnaires that will be distributed to samples to obtain valid data. which in the instrument found a validity value of 0.664 and reliability of 0.159. The result of this study is that as many as 82.1% of students understand about research articles and 17.9% do not know what research articles are. So from these results it can be concluded that the level of student understanding in research articles is included in the category of quite good. The COVID-19 pandemic is a modern problem brought about by ease in travel, advanced trade and industry, and the like. This global health concern requires solutions to limit face-to-face interactions, such as cryptocurrency. The researcher makes an effort to use less fiat, which results in paperless transactions. With this system already in place, this study examined how rural bank personnel appreciate cryptocurrency. This study used the descriptive research design and an online survey as its data gathering tool. The respondents were regular employees of rural banks in the second district of Albay who consented to participate in the study. The statistical methods used in the study were the Kendall Coefficient of Concordance W and Chi-square. The findings are the following: the rural banks' managers were less appreciative of cryptocurrency, and supervisors and office staff felt indecisive about their appreciation. Also, there is a significance of agreement among the respondents in terms of knowledge, regardless of rank. In general, the respondents were not ready to understand and accept cryptocurrency. This study recommends further research to involve other professionals in Albay. The rural bank personnel may also attend webinars regarding digital assets and cryptocurrency. It also recommends the collaboration of banks to improve cryptocurrency appreciation and related concerns.

This research aims to describe the career path of achievement of volleyball student-athletes from the State University of Malang based on the chronological timeline of achievements in the volleyball championship. This research uses visual research methods (VRM), where data is processed into visual form, namely a timeline graph of achievements. The participants are men's and women's volleyball athletes from the State University of Malang class of 2018-2020 from various faculties with active student status. The achievement data were collected using a questionnaire and given to athletes digitally through Google Forms, then their answers were visualized in timeline graphs. The timeline graphs show the record of athlete achievements chronologically from high school (or equivalent) to college. The graphs were produced and then analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The results showed three patterns in the timeline of athlete achievements: 1) progressive/increase pattern, 2) descending patterns, and 3) stagnation patterns. Implications of this study are: 1) beneficial to understand what factors affect changes in athlete achievements, 2) as reminders for athletes to keep tracking their achievements and develop strategies to improve them; 3) as input for coaches to develop future training programs to improve student-athlete achievement.

Islamic analytic theology emerges into an uncharted territory that is dominated by two loosely defined areas: analytic philosophy and analytic theology. As a nascent field, this article argues that for Islamic analytic theology to move forward, it needs to place the Qurʾān at its centre. To have a clear understanding of our terms, I begin by attempting a definition of Islamic analytic theology. Taking a normative approach to the subject, I consolidate the discussion with five methodical questions. Firstly, what has been going on in Islamic theology? (The descriptive task). Secondly, why has this been going on? (The interpretative task). Thirdly, what ought to be going on? (The normative task). Fourthly, how might we, as Muslim theologians, respond? (The pragmatic task). Fifthly, why should Muslim theologians conduct analytic theology? (The functional task). To situate Islamic analytic theology within this wider discussion, I end the article by offering some insights on how Islamic analytic theology relates to old Kalām. The discipline of apologetics has always been somewhat controversial in Christian theology. In the early church, the Greek-speaking apologists were often opposed for their attempts to express the gospel in the terms of Greek thought. In more recent times, the critiques of Soren Kierkegaard and Karl Barth, that it is an attempt to appeal to foundations that have nothing to do with the gospel, have cast a shadow over the discipline in recent years. This paper seeks to take those critiques seriously, yet argues that the discipline of apologetics is vital for the ongoing witness of the Church. It offers a new vision of apologetics based on the theological Apocalyptic genre. Rather than attempt to prove the existence of God or the truth of the Christian faith by rational means, Apologetics can be reconceived as an essentially narrative or descriptive discipline. The Apocalyptic genre thinks of the gospel as the result and announcement of the good news as a radical incursion of God into human life and history in the Incarnation and Resurrection. Apocalyptic Apologetics thus becomes an attempt to describe the world of history, politics, relationships and art (in fact, everything created) as lit up by the light of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. It becomes a wide-ranging and imaginative venture to redescribe the world in the light of the gospel. This approach re-establishes Apologetics as a crucial part of the Church's witness while avoiding the critique that it smuggles in assumptions and foundations from outside the gospel itself. The study aimed to assess the status of the implementation of Alternative Learning System (ALS) in Jalajala Elementary School during the School Year 2021-2022. The study considered 148 ALS learners in the said school. Purposive sampling technique was used. The respondents were described in terms of their age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, and monthly family income. Descriptive survey research design was used. A researcher-made questionnaire-checklist was utilized to assess the implementation of Alternative Learning System (ALS) in public elementary schools with respect to teaching methodologies, instructional materials, and evaluative techniques. Problems encountered in the status of the implementation of Alternative Learning System were also determined. The study revealed that the ALS learners are mostly on their maturity ages and predominantly males. Most of them are single; have monthly income below Php 10,000 and mostly are high school undergraduates and elementary undergraduates. Alternative Learning System is often implemented with respect to teaching methodologies, instructional materials and evaluative techniques as evaluated by ALS learners. No significant difference exists on the perception of the respondents on the implementation of Alternative Learning System with respect to teaching methodologies, instructional materials, and evaluative techniques in terms of age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, and monthly family income. The most common problems encountered by ALS learners on the implementation of Alternative Learning System are family problems, marital problem, and school too far from home and financial problem as well Some of the recommendations include continuous implementation of the programs in ALS, provision of better co-curricular programs, purchasing of needed facilities and equipment, and provision of opportunities to ALS graduates. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of key aspects related to the distribution of Special Education Teachers (SPET) and receiving teachers, their awareness of inclusive education policies, their practices, and the barriers they face. Data collected from diverse educators shed light on age, gender, teaching experience, specialization, policy awareness, and inclusive practices. The study highlights the diverse age distribution among teachers handling the SPED program. Furthermore, it points out the prominence of female teachers in the workforce. A significant proportion of teachers possess limited teaching experience and a limited number of specialized SPED teachers. Regarding policy awareness, both Special Education Teachers (SPET) and receiving teachers clearly understand inclusive education policies. Inclusive practices among teachers were consistently observed, especially in admission, teaching, and modifying learning packages for learners with special needs. Identifying the lack of training as a major barrier in IE, there is a necessity for professional development to support effective inclusive practices. The findings underscore vital family support services, parental engagement in decision-making, and collaborative opportunities. Based on the findings, the researcher recommends targeted professional development for teachers, awareness campaigns on Indigenous Peoples' rights, encouraging specialization in SPED, strengthening collaboration, and expanding effective practices like the "Child Find" approach. Objectives: To identify and characterise medical consultations to psychiatric inpatients. Method: Retrospective cross-sectional descriptive study of 451 psychiatric inpatients' electronic medical records between 1 January and 30 June 2021 with descriptive statistics. Results: Thirty one percent (n = 131) of inpatients required medical consultation, with 382 total consultations including ward call. Half (57.9%) were telephone advice. Main consulting specialties were general medicine (25%), anaesthetics (12%), neurology (9.9%), cardiology (6.5%) and endocrinology (6.2%). Almost all (99.0%) consultations resulted in documented management plans. Conclusions: This is the first Australian descriptive study quantifying and characterising psychiatric inpatient consultation requests. Enforcing the law serves as the key function of the police officer to maintain peace and order, thus, ensuring strict conformance with human rights. This study was conducted to assess the implementation of the PNP Human Rights Development Program in Tabaco City, Albay, Philippines, along with Institutional policy development, capability building on human rights protection, prevention and control measures on abuse of human rights, and strengthening of partnership and cooperation with multi-sectoral organizations for human rights compliance. It also identified the problems encountered and formulated an action plan that aims to further enhance the implementation of the program. The personnel assigned at the PNP Human Rights Development Program in Tabaco City selected Community Officials, and members of the community were the respondents of the study. Hence, the study revealed that the community and other partner stakeholders have understood and accepted the principles of the programs implemented. Therefore, the primary objectives of the PNP in gaining the trust and confidence of the community were achieved. The study recommends the sustainability of the program through inculcating greater social responsibility, intervening appropriately, and acquiring useful and timely information for implementation of anti-human rights abuse programs which shall be continuously participated by the community with enhanced multi-sectoral collaboration to achieve a safer community free from abuse.

The safety of the community and the degree of law and order in the state were based mainly on the efficiency of the duties and functions performed by the agent of the state. Being a public officer with state-given powers, a police officer must strictly adhere to organizational discipline. The study aims to determine the prevalent Administrative Cases in Police Regional Office 5 for CY 2019 to 2021 and identify the factors leading to the commission of administrative offenses based on the available data on the nature of cases, specific offenses, and disposition of administrative cases. It will also analyze the effects of decided administrative cases on police officers’ work performance, social relationships, and family relations. Content analysis on reliable data on the nature of cases and specific offenses and qualitative method with a phenomenological approach based on the responses of the participants were utilized to analyze the factors and effects of decided administrative cases on police officers. The study revealed that negligence, incompetency, anger management, and sexual misconduct are among the factors leading to the commission of the administrative offense. The study concludes that neglect of duty (nonfeasance) and misconduct (malfeasance) are the two (2) prevalent administrative offenses committed by a police officer. There is a need for cohesive preventive measures that enhance police discipline based on morale and spiritual upliftment, psycho-social intervention program and skill-focused activities to address the increasing number of administrative cases in PRO5.

Cleaning a river needs the collaboration of all stakeholders. Thus, this study delved into the stakeholders' observed impacts of the Adopt-an-Estero Water Body Program (AEWBP) jointly implemented at Segment 3 of Batiano River by the JBLFMU-Arevalo, DENR 6, and other sectoral groups. The study employed a descriptive research design with ninety-two respondents identified through purposive sampling. The findings revealed that the majority participated once to five times in the cleanup. When not involved in cleanup activity, stakeholders visited the area five or more times a year. The observed impacts of AEWBP on the community include environmental education, increased health and safety, and established community relationships. On stakeholders, the observed impacts were becoming more environment-aware, motivated to reduce and properly dispose of garbage, and disciplined. On the environment, respondents observed healthier aquatic status, reduced plastic, and increased environmental awareness. Current strategies used, like the length of cleanup, using gaff, and the type of people involved, was rated highly effective, where a significant difference was noted in the stakeholders' observed effectiveness. The stakeholders cited other effective ways of implementation like more often clean up, dredging the river, more funds, continuing education, and more organizations. This study concludes that the AEWBP is a good learning avenue for the environmental protection of the community.

The study explores the combinatorial prevalence effect in Event construal techniques in text and image components of heterosemiotic book pages. We hypothesize that their activity and contingency affect their interpretation, here tested in the oculographic experiment and discourse responses check. To proceed, we develop the parametric system applied for 100 book pages annotation and further statistical analysis. This study reveals the relevance of Truth, Type, Relation, Manageability, Completeness, Instantness, Achievement, Evaluation, Space location, Time location, Repeatability, Cause and effect parameter groups in Event construal in text and image as well as their resonance in concomitant activity. To select the samples serving as stimuli in the oculographic experiment, we apply Principal component analysis, which assigns Uniqueness indices to the samples, here ranging from 0.111 to 0.675, and provides diversity of Event construal techniques to be tested in terms of their interpretation. The results evidence that participants applied different text and image attention distribution patterns with longer fixations on text component in case the image displayed physical contact, static and desirable events. When the creation or destruction events, events-achievement, events located in time or causal events were not present in the text, the participants were more likely to address the image, not the text. Parameter activity also affects the choice of Descriptive, Narrative and Speculative discourse responses, with a restricted number of parameters stimulating Narrative discourse, with a restricted in text and vast in image number of parameters stimulating Speculative discourse, which evidences in favor of their more predetermined and predicted character. Hopefully, the results may be used to predict the interpretation effects and to further cognitive linguistic and semiotic research coordination.

The term integration refers to merging the Elementary and High School Departments. The merging entailed alignment of the curriculum and management system from kindergarten to the secondary levels, where there is a unified set of administrative teams for both elementary and high school to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the curriculum and other administrative components. Using a descriptive research design, this study assessed the implementation of the integrated system of basic education at Notre Dame of Marbel University. Specifically, this study has determined the level of satisfaction of the personnel and retirees on the implementation of the integrated system of the basic education department of Notre Dame of Marbel University; and determining the strengths and weaknesses of the implementation of the integrated system as perceived by the personnel and retirees of NDMU-IBED. The result of the study reveals that all the areas being assessed, such as the Organizational Structure, Academic/Instructional Management, Program Implementation Scheme, Human Relationship, Leadership, and Participation, have obtained very satisfactory results. Strengths and Weaknesses were also identified in each of the areas mentioned. It can be concluded that the integrated system being implemented in the basic education of Notre Dame of Marbel University has brought more positive changes in terms of the organizational structure, academic management, program implementation monitoring scheme, human resource relationship, leadership, and participation.

OBJECTIVE: To identify the epidemiological leptospirosis profile in the pediatric population (0 to 15 years old), as well as to analyze and review clinical data, in order to contribute with public health policy strategies and point out the importance of leptospirosis and its notification by the health authorities. METHODS: An epidemiological, observational, analytical and cross-sectional study of 101 leptospirosis notification forms, CID10- A27.9, notified by epidemiological surveillance nucleus of a tertiary pediatric hospital, from January 2016 to December 2021, this research was submitted and approved by the institutions Ethics Committee. RESULTS: Of the 101 notifications, 13 (12.9%) had clinical and laboratory diagnostic confirmation for leptospirosis, 12 (92.3%) in males, from peri-urban areas; the greatest source of exposure was river, stream, lagoon or dam representing 7 (53.8%) cases. CONCLUSION: The predominant profile is a boy, resident of the peri-urban area, the clinical has nonspecific and self-limited symptoms.

Introduction: Depression is a common mood disorder, whose recurrence alters its management and prognosis. The aim of the paper is to describe the hospital discharge rate (HED) for recurrent depressive episode (RDE) between 2018-2021 in Chile, according to sex, age and severity. Materials and methods: Observational and cross-sectional study considering hospital discharges due to DRE in the period 2018-2021 in Chile (N=1551). The databases of the Department of Health Statistics and Information and the National Institute of Statistics were used. The variables studied were sex, age group and severity. Ethics committee approval was not required. Results: The lowest HTE was observed in 2020 with 1.91 discharges per 100,000 inhabitants. Females stood out during the entire period with an HTE of 3.68 discharges per 100,000 population. The 15-19 years age group stood out with the highest HTE in both sexes with 5.3 admissions per 100,000 inhabitants. In terms of severity, hospitalizations were concentrated in patients with unspecified diagnosis. Discussion: The COVID 19 pandemic could explain the decrease in HTE in 2020, with a reduction in diagnosis and hospitalization for RDE, presumably due to the bed conversion phenomenon. HTE is higher in the female sex, which is consistent with the literature. The predominance of the 15 to 19 years age group disagrees with the evidence, which indicates that it tends to be concentrated in individuals aged 25 to 64 years. Conclusion: HTE due to DRE was concentrated in young women. It is important to know the local epidemiology in order to focus resources on the timely detection of risk factors to avoid serious episodes and reduce their recurrence. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Responsiveness/relevance is perceived as the starting point for determining what constitutes a quality education. Since development is necessary, systems that support development, like education and training systems, must be responsive. This study is focused on the relevance and responsiveness of the Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA) program and to determine whether the initiatives currently practiced by the college to make the program relevant/responsive are effective. John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation-Bacolod is a higher education institution that offers a BSCA program and is the only one in Negros Occidental. However, despite the very satisfactory results in the board examination in the past years and the high demand for employment in the import and export industry, only a few are enrolled in the program. Hence, the conduct of this study is to explore opportunities to improve enrolment. This descriptive study used the survey method to gather the data needed, with Mean and Standard Deviation as statistical tools. A discussion with representative stakeholders was made on the initiatives and strategies practiced by the college to calibrate the program. The respondents were 24 BSCA students, 53 alumni, and 22 industry representatives. The findings showed that the BSCA program is relevant and responsive to a very great extent, as assessed by the alumni and students, and relevant/responsive to a great extent by the industry. This implies then that as a Higher Education, JBLCF-Bacolod offers a program that is relevant/responsive and the initiatives practiced by the College of Business are very highly effective based on the four core resources and also affirms that teachers are considered the most valuable pillars in the teaching-learning process. Objective: to conduct a survey of the epidemiological, care and causal profile of maternal mortality in the cities of geographical coverage of a Regional Health Superintendence located in inland Minas Gerais in the period from 2004 to 2018. Method: descriptive, quantitative observational epidemiological study with data analysis obtained from the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System, Death Certificates and Maternal Death Investigation Forms. Results: of the 19 maternal deaths analyzed, 8 (42.10%) were women aged 20 to 29 years, white, married, with 8 to 11 years of schooling. Deaths occurred in hospital institutions (100.00%), highlighting direct obstetric maternal death (89.47%) with obstetric embolism as the cause (21.05%). Conclusion: the maternal deaths studied are more related to quality and full access to existing points of care in the maternal-child care network than to the aspects of social vulnerabilities investigated. The overall purpose of the present study was to examine hazing among university athletes in Canada. More specifically, athletes' experiences with hazing behaviors, knowledge regarding hazing, perceptions of the nature of hazing, attitudes toward hazing, and exposure to hazing policy and prevention/intervention strategies were investigated. A total of 434 U Sports (formerly known as Canadian Interuniversity Sport) athletes from various varsity-level and club-level sports participated in the study. Results showed that 58% of athletes experienced at least one hazing behavior. Some athletes reported that coaches were not only aware of hazing behaviors, but also present while hazing behaviors occurred. Athletes who experienced hazing perceived more positive outcomes of hazing than negative, and did not report hazing incidents because they believed experiencing hazing was part of being a member of the team. A small percentage of athletes had participated in hazing prevention workshops. Implications of these findings pertain to education on hazing, hazing prevention strategies and interventions.
