A pesquisa sobre governança corporativa apoiada nos pilares: transparência, equidade, prestação de contas e responsabilidade corporativa, baseia-se na criação de um sistema para direção da empresa. Afim de investigar a produtividade dos pesquisadores quanto a temporalidade, quantidade de autores, aplicando a Lei de Lotka (utilizando o modelo do poder inverso generalizado para contagem direta e completa), a pesquisa é classificada como descritiva, com abordagem quantitativa, realizou-se a análise bibliográfica da produção nacional e internacional em janeiro de 2020. A análise na base Scopus, com os termos de busca “governança corporativa” OR “corporate governance” OR “corporative governance” resultou em 23.167 publicações, sendo objeto de estudo apenas os artigos (16.818). Esses dados foram recuperados no formato BibTeX, inseridos programa R (pacote Bibliometrix) e planilha eletrônica para a realização do objetivo. Os resultados apontam que o número de colaboradores cresceu continuamente nos últimos anos e que a configuração de dois e três autores vem tornando-se mais frequente. A produtividade dos pesquisadores realizada pela contagem direta (n = 0,75) é inferior a contagem completa (n = 1,12), demonstrando efeito favorável para o regime de colaboração.

Abstract Background Thus far, studies on Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC)-producing organisms have only been reported in those with a history of foreign travel, and a specific Japanese KPC-producing isolate has not yet been reported. Case presentation We describe a Japanese patient, with no history of travel to foreign countries, admitted due to aspiration pneumonia, and a KPC-producing isolate detected in his sputum. Fortunately, his pneumonia resolved. His close contacts did not have a history of foreign travel, and the isolate was not detected in other patients. Conclusions The potential for KPC-producing organisms to become endemic in Japan is currently of great concern.

Purpose: The severe pathogenic ancient-type COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2/WA-1/2020 was the predominant gene variant in early 2020 in Japan, however, its transmissibility was uncertain. The period before the public commenced using any personal protective equipment (PPE) was evaluating to describe the transmissibility of the SARS-CoV-2/WA-1/2020. We analyzed the secondary attack rate (SAR) among close contacts and the risk factor for SAR. Methods: This retrospective cohort study included a total of 539 patients who were anticipated for the SARS-CoV-2/WA-1/2020 infection at Toho University Medical Center Omori Hospital from February to May 2020. We selected 54 patients with 1) exclude other pathogens infection, 2) include "Three Cs" condition: crowded places between distance< 6 feet, closed spaces indoor and close contact settings involving contact > 15min with a person tested positive for SARS-CoV-2/WA-1/2020 without PPE. We evaluated alternative infection risks: the body mass index (BMI) and diabetes (DM) status (non-DM, pre-DM, and DM) as demographic determinants of transmissibility and infectivity of SARS-CoV2/WA-1/2020 cases during the incubation period. Results: The calculated SAR was 79.3%. BMI was significantly associated with the PCR positivity rate, which was significant in the univariate (CI 95%, 1.02– 1.51; P = 0.03) and multivariate (CI 95%, 1.02– 1.60; P = 0.03) analyses. Comparing the different BMI groups, the highest BMI group (25.5− 35.8 kg/m2) had an elevated risk of SAR compared to the lowest BMI group (14.0– 22.8 kg/m2), with an odds ratio of 1.41 (95% CI, 1.02– 1.59; P = 0.03). There were no significant differences in the risk of SAR among different DM statuses. Conclusion: The transmissibility of SARS-CoV2/WA-1/2020 was high (79.3%) among household members without PPE who had "Three Cs" exposure. Although pre-DM and established DM did not confer a risk for transmissibility, higher BMI was associated with an increased risk of SAR. Abstract Background Countries in the Southeast Asia region have a high prevalence of soil-transmitted helminth, such as roundworm, whipworm, and hookworms [Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus, Ancylostoma ceylanicum]. Recent molecular-based surveys have revealed that A. ceylanicum, a zoonotic hookworm, is likely the second most prevalent hookworm species infecting humans in that part of the world, while others have noted that this infection is an emerging public health risk not only for indigenous people but also for visitors from other countries. Case presentation We recently encountered four cases of A. ceylanicum infection in Japanese individuals who returned from Southeast Asia and Papua New Guinea. Case 1 was a 25-year-old male who stayed in a rainforest in Malaysia for 4 weeks, where he developed abdominal pain and diarrhea in the third week. Eleven adult worms (five males, six females) were expelled after treatment with pyrantel pamoate and identified as A. ceylanicum based on morphological characteristics and DNA sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (cox1) gene. Case 2 was a 26-year-old male who spent 2 years as an overseas cooperation volunteer for agriculture in Papua New Guinea. He did not note any symptoms at that time, though eggs were detected in feces samples at a medical check-up examination after returning. Although collection of adult worms was unsuccessful, DNA analysis of the eggs for cox1 and the ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS)-1 and ITS-2 genes demonstrated that they were A. ceylanicum. Case 3 was a 47-year-old male who spent 1 month in a rural village in Lao People’s Democratic Republic and began suffering from watery diarrhea from the third week. A total of nine adult worms (three males, six females) were collected by endoscopic procedures and following treatment with pyrantel pamoate. Morphological examination and molecular analyses of the cox1 gene showed that they were A. ceylanicum. Case 4 was a 27-year-old male who participated in group travel to India for 5 days. Three weeks after returning, he developed abdominal pain and diarrhea. Hookworm eggs were found in feces samples and developed into larvae in culture, which were identified as A. ceylanicum based on molecular analysis of the cox1 gene. Eosinophilia was observed in all of the cases prior to treatment. Conclusions A. ceylanicum should be recognized as an important etiologic pathogen of hookworm diseases in travelers to countries in the Southeast Asia and West Pacific Ocean regions.

A internet das coisas e o aprendizado de máquina são temas emergentes na área da saúde com potencial para otimizar a área e criar um sistema de saúde inteligente em virtude do envelhecimento da população. Este artigo analisa a produção científia do período de 2009 a 2019 a respeito da internet das coisas e do aprendizado de máquina na área da saúde. Utiliza metodologia bibliométrica em 1.353 artigos recuperados na base de dados Web of Science. Constata um crescimento da produção científia sobre o tema, sendo os Estados Unidos o principal polo de pesquisa na área. Identifia os autores mais produtivos e com maior impacto, periódicos mais produtivos, colaboração entre países e palavras-chave utilizadas, bem como suas relações. Incentiva que novas pesquisas explorem as abordagens identifiadas no estudo.

Um dos maiores eventos de pesquisa e de pós-graduação da área de Ciência da Informação do país. Sendo assim o objetivo desse trabalho mapear a produção científica por meios de análises bibliométricas, caracterizando o Enancib a partir dos trabalhos publicados nas páginas dos eventos, compreendendo as 19 edições até o momento, absorvendo os grupos de trabalhos. O corpus de estudo foi composto de 4.282 publicações no evento, inserido e processado no software Microsoft Excel, gerando informação de frequência e número de itens publicados dos autores e coautores mais produtivos, posição de autoria dos autores mais produtivos, sendo estes separados, por edição e por grupo de trabalho. O estudo permite verificar a trajetória da existência do Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa em Ciência da Informação, quanto aos componentes: publicações, autores e coautores mais produtivos por edição, grupo de trabalho e na totalidade do evento, 24 anos. A pesquisa revelou que o fato de o autor estar no primeiro lugar, como o autor mais produtivo do evento das edições analisadas, não significa que este seja o mais produtivo por edição e também por grupo de trabalho. Também revelou, o quantitativo de autores em cada grupo de trabalho, edição, demonstrando que a área de ciência da informação está em constante crescimento.

Objectives: Blau syndrome is a distinct class of autoinflammatory syndrome presenting with early-onset systemic granulomatosis. Blau syndrome-causing NOD2 mutations located in the central nucleotide-oligomerization domain induce ligand-independent basal NF-κB activation in an in vitro reporter assay. However, the precise role of this signaling on granuloma formation has not yet been clarified. Methods: Blau syndrome-causing NOD2 mutations were introduced into human monocytic THP-1 cells, and their morphological and molecular changes from parental cells were analyzed. Identified molecules with altered expression were examined in the patient’s lesional skin by immunostaining. Results: Although the production of proinflammatory cytokines was not altered without stimulation, mutant NOD2-expressing THP-1 cells attached persistently to the culture plate after stimulation with phorbol myristate acetate. Sustained surface ICAM-1 expression was observed in association with this phenomenon, but neither persistent ICAM-1 mRNA expression nor impaired ADAM17 mRNA expression was revealed. However, the transient induction of PDGF-B mRNA expression was specifically observed in stimulated THP-1 derivatives. In the granulomatous skin lesion of a Blau syndrome patient, ICAM-1 and PDGF-B were positively immunostained in NOD2-expressing giant cells. Conclusions: Sustained surface ICAM-1 expression and transient PDGF-B production by newly differentiating macrophages harboring mutant NOD2 might play a role in granuloma formation in Blau syndrome.

There are few road accident studies that use heart rate as an indicator of driver fatigue. This study offers a mathematical regression analysis to discover which independent variables (driving speed, driving duration, body mass index, gender, and types of roads) are significant in influencing the heart rate and how these parameters interact to indicate driver fatigue. The analysis is conducted using a Box-Behnken design by Design Expert software. The results revealed that the values of Prob>F for all variables were less than 0.01%, indicating that all variables influence heart rate significantly. The heart rate increased when driving speed, driving duration, and body mass index (BMI) increased. A similar pattern was observed as the driving path shifted from urban to a moderately difficult uphill/downhill road. However, the pulse rate was reduced when a female driver was replaced by a male driver. The model's accuracy was evaluated by comparing the output data obtained from actual road driving with software prediction. First, the prediction interval of both techniques' output data was within 95%, meeting the minimum quantitative criteria of a 90% predictive interval. Subsequently, the residual errors were less than 10%. The regression model will be useful to shed light on traffic safety measures for preventing fatigue-related road accidents.
