The geoconservation field has proven relevant progress in recent years. Inventorying, whether for scientific or tourist purpose, is among the most frequent actions. Although there is an increasing number of a methodological research on inventory, in many cases, it does not include accurate geosite delimitation nor management proposals. These two aspects are essential in order to connect with land managers because more than a mere list of points to protect geosites is required. A geosite inventory of the province of Burgos is presented in this paper. Seventy-eight geosites throughout the province have been identified, precisely delimited and analyzed, grouping a total of 244 sites of geological interest. There is a great variety in their ages (from the Cambrian to the Quaternary), geological zones, geographical location, and interest types. Management proposals related to protection, restoration, land use regulation, tourism, divulgation, investigation, and management have been included. The proposals are very different depending on geosite characteristics. The purpose of the geosite inventory is mainly for management and we informed the environmental agency responsible for protecting the area. This is a very important step for the protection of certain areas, especially for those that are not or only partly included in a natural protected area, which means two-thirds of total. The Burgos Press Association created its Hoja del Lunes in 1950. This weekly newspaper survived the dictatorship, the transition and the first democratic years. This article analyses the origins, the development and the causes of its disappearance, while looking at the evolution of its content that started from a tight censored control and limits to the freedom of information set by the Constitution of 1978. However, the democracy and the opening of new news allowed, in May 1985, to end the unsustainable method of publication for the competitive market. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

El presente trabajo ofrece un estudio y análisis de dos inscripciones funerarias del conjunto de Lara de los Infantes. Estas, reseñadas en el Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum como CIL II 2866 y CIL II 2879 eran conocidas tan solo por la literatura epigráfica al encontrarse en paradero desconocido hasta su reciente reaparición.The present work provides research and analysis of two funerary inscriptions from Lara de los Infantes complex. These epitaphs, documented in the Corpus Inscriptionum Latinarum as CIL II 2866 and CIL II 2879, were known only through the epigraphic literature, due to the unknown location until the recent reappearance.

La disponibilidad de inventarios de bienes elaborados, en primera instancia, en el alegre momento de las nupcias y, en último término, en las atribuladas circunstancias del óbito de uno de los cónyuges, generalmente el varón, por lo tocante a 14 hogares de la ciudad de Burgos en el devenir del siglo XVIII posibilita, a mi entender, efectuar un análisis crítico de la diacronía de la cultura material y sus niveles de fortuna de una manera atrevida y novedosa. Todo ello desde la perspectiva de los sesgos evolutivos de las categorías socioprofesionales y socioeconómicas en que cada uno de dichos hogares se encontraba incardinado. Con estas páginas la reconstrucción histórica de la cultura material del Setecientos se adentra en un territorio escasamente tratado en la historiografía modernista, salvo excepcionales y modélicas aportaciones.

En el presente trabajo se aborda la naturaleza y el alcance de los servicios debidos por los campesinos dependientes a sus respectivos señores, prestando especial atención a la renta señorial como parte integrante de la renta feudal. Para ello se cuenta con una serie de 50 fueros locales de los siglos XI al XIII pertenecientes a la actual provincia de Burgos. Por tratarse del marco legal en el que se desarrolló la vida laboral y social del campesinado, cada fuero en su localidad fijaba por escrito los servicios más comunes e importantes, entre otros, las infurciones, sernas, nuncios, mañerías, posada y yantar, así como otras formas distintas del servitium que convirtieron la dependencia campesina en un estado de vida permanente.In this paper we examine the nature and scope of the services owed by dependent peasants to their lords, with particular reference to lordship rents. We will examine a series of fifty municipal charters (fueros), consisting of all the extant records dating from the eleventh to the thirteenth centuries from the province of Burgos. As these charters detail the legal framework in which the peasantry’s economic and social life took place, each charter prescribed the most common and significant duties owed in their respective jurisdiction among which we find the following: infurción, serna, nuncio, mañería, posada and yantar, as well as other forms of servitium which transformed the peasantry’s state of dependency into a permanent way of life.

Presentamos un intento de profundizar en el significado y circunstancias culturales en las que se construyeron los sepulcros de corredor neolíticos del noreste de la Submeseta Norte española, combinando características astronómicas, topográficas y orográficas del terreno circundante. Describimos el trabajo de campo realizado para observar sobre el terreno los efectos de la luz del sol naciente en varios de tales dólmenes, demostrando que las orientaciones fueron minuciosamente calculadas para propiciar que, unos pocos días en torno al comienzo del invierno, los rayos solares se adentraran por el pasillo e iluminaran el interior de los sepulcros y manifestaciones artísticas asociadas que describimos. Por todo ello deducimos la posible existencia de una estructura sociocultural con rituales, ceremonias y actividades funerarias ligadas a un conocimiento profundo del calendario y especialistas dedicados a la planificación y construcción de estos dólmenes y sus espectáculos luminosos ligados a ellos.

La presencia de la alta nobleza en las ciudades del realengo castellano a finales de la Edad Media es indiscutible. Sin embargo, no todas ellas se vieron sometidas a un mismo proceso de injerencia nobiliaria que varió en función del espacio, pero, sobre todo, de los componentes del grupo nobiliario. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo realizar una primera aproximación a los diferentes modelos de penetración nobiliaria que se observan entre 1476 y 1516 en la ciudad realenga de Burgos. Con este fin se examinará el asentamiento en la ciudad e intervención en el gobierno municipal de cuatro linajes nobiliarios (Rojas, Sarmiento, Manrique y Velasco) a partir del análisis de la documentación municipal burgalesa. Este estudio permitirá comprobar cómo las posiciones ocupadas por la nobleza en Burgos respondieron, en mayor o menor medida, al papel que los diferentes linajes desempeñaron en la política castellana, así como a las relaciones que los nobles mantuvieron con la élite urbana.

En este trabajo se realiza un análisis selectivo de las diferentes formas de presencia de la violencia en el clero diocesano burgalés durante el siglo XV. Violencia de los clérigos hacia los laicos, entre los propios clérigos y de los laicos contra los clérigos, situaciones todas ellas que fueron denunciadas ante la justicia episcopal burgalesa. Las manifestaciones de violencia fueron desde simples golpes, bofetadas y pedradas hasta ataques con cuchillos y espadas, no faltando algún caso de homicidio, todo lo cual, en definitiva, viene a ser una clara muestra de las fuertes tensiones sociales, tanto internas como externas, que a nivel local afectaban al clero rural en la diócesis de Burgos.

En este trabajo se estudia la figura de Luis Garcés de Maluenda, un eclesiástico burgalés de ascendientes judeoconversos (emparentado con la familia Santa María) que vivió en la segunda mitad del siglo XV, y que llegó a ser canónigo y tesorero de la catedral. A pesar de morir joven, con 37 años, desarrolló una relevante carrera eclesiástica, fue uno de los más importantes gestores económicos del cabildo catedralicio burgalés, intervino en asuntos jurisdiccionales y de tipo beneficial y, en nombre del cabildo, negoció con Mencía de Mendoza, condesa de Haro, todo lo referente a la construcción de la capilla del Condestable en la catedral. Finalmente hay que destacar su posesión de un ejemplar de la célebre Biblia de 42 líneas, impresa por Gutenberg.This article studies the figure of Luis Garcés de Maluenda, a Burgos clergyman who lived in the second half of the fifteenth century, with Jewish-convert roots (he was related to the Santa María family) and who managed to become canon and treasurer of the cathedral. Although he died young, at 37, he had an outstanding ecclesiastical career and became one of the most important economic administrators of the cathedral chapter of Burgos. He also took part in matters of jurisdiction and benefices and, in representation of the chapter, negotiated the construction of the Constable’s Chapel in Burgos cathedral with Mencía de Mendoza, countess of Haro. Finally, it is worthy to note that he owned an original copy of the 42-line Bible printed by Gutenberg.

La naturaleza y evolución de los grupos sociales inferiores que constituyeron los cabildos de las catedrales continúa siendo un aspecto poco conocido de la España medieval. Esta evidencia no ha impedido a la historiografía advertir el papel determinante que los oficios y beneficios disfrutados por este amplio sector del clero jugaron en las carreras eclesiásticas y en la configuración de las fortunas de los miembros capitulares de mayor rango. El presente artículo pretende arrojar luz sobre el estatus del numeroso grupo de los prebendados menores que componían la estructura del cabildo burgalés durante la primera mitad del episcopado de Luis de Acuña (1456-1495). Para ello se analiza el sistema de provisión y permutas de beneficios eclesiásticos menores; primer eslabón de importancia en la cadena de promociones que constituía el cursus honorum de los capitulares burgaleses. Además, se examina el protagonismo del Obispo Acuña como impulsor de una red clientelar entre el clero catedralicio.

In an almost similar number, a handful of homes in Burgos in the 18th century had opted, on the one hand, to house their components in their property and, on the other, to live on a rental basis even though they owned one or more buildings in the urban fabric. The search for a better location in the hamlet - thanks to the flight of dangerous and undesirable streets and neighborhoods - and greater domestic comfort - especially in terms of the dimensions of the floors capable of daily coexistence - obtaining of certain economic profitability, the proximity to their jobs and their «peers» or the thriving in the culture of appearances and material culture explain, as far as possible, such strategic decisions. El periódico de la Prensa del Movimiento en Burgos, La Voz de Castilla (1945-1976), último en fundarse y uno de los primeros de esta cadena en desaparecer, estuvo férreamente controlado por el régimen de Franco. A través del análisis de los contenidos de sus portadas se ha observado que la intervención estatal no cedió durante sus 30 años de vida, si bien se adaptó a las transformaciones sociopolíticas. El diario atravesó una primera etapa marcada por la totalitaria Ley de Prensa de 1938, donde imperó una estrecha vigilancia, y una segunda determinada por la Ley de Prensa e Imprenta de 1966, que provocó una tímida apertura informativa. El estudio concluye que La Voz de Castilla se adaptó plenamente a las características de sus homólogos de la Prensa del Movimiento.

La distribución y el consumo de chocolate invadieron, como una «fiebre» persistente, la cultura material y las prácticas alimenticias en el Setecientos. Las viviendas castellanas se dotaron, de manera creciente, de chocolateras y mancerinas, en las cuales verter el ansiado y nutritivo chocolate. El cacao llegaba, con más o menos prodigalidad, a las lonjas y tiendas de las ciudades y a las alacenas y despensas de las viviendas. Los clérigos no fueron ajenos a ese proceso e incluso protagonizaron una problemática colectiva, la del Cabildo catedralicio, con el objetivo manifiesto –preñado en muchas ocasiones de ansiedad y de tirantez con la empresa suministradora y con las autoridades municipales y estatales– de conseguir una logística sostenible de la materia prima, el cacao, para sus hogares.
