According to China's Seventh National Census, 18.70% of a total of 1.41 billion people were 60 or older and 13.50% were 65 or older, so China's population is increasingly aging. In conjunction with China's socioeconomic and scientific and technological development and its promotion of medical insurance-related policies, rational medication management for the elderly is a concern in order to control the risk of polypharmacy. This paper summarizes and discusses the following five key issues inherent in rational medication management: i) an increase in serious polypharmacy and the potential risks of medication; ii) a lack of medication consultation service and medication withdraw without healthcare providers' supervision; iii) poor medication compliance among the elderly; iv) insufficient quantity and incompetence of pharmaceutical staffing; and v) limited awareness of pharmaceutical services and lack of trust in the ability of pharmacists. Based on a discussion of factors influencing these issues, suggestions have been put forward in the hopes that China emphasizes rational medication management in order to reduce the risk of polypharmacy and the disease burden of the elderly in China.

We report the design, synthesis, structure, and properties of two complex layered phosphide nitrides, $Ak$Th$_2$Mn$_4$P$_4$N$_2$ ($Ak$ = Rb, Cs), which contain anti-fluorite-type [Mn$_2$P$_2$] bilayers separated by fluorite-type [Th2N2] layers as a result of the intergrowth between AkMn$_2$P$_2$ and ThMnPN. The new compounds are featured with an intrinsic hole doping associated with the interlayer charge transfer and a built-in chemical pressure from the [Th$_2$N$_2$] layers, both of which are reflected by the changes in the lattice and the atomic position of phosphorus. The measurements of magnetic susceptibility, electrical resistivity, and specific heat indicate existence of local moments as well as itinerant electrons in relation with d-p hybridizations. The expected dominant antiferromagnetic interactions with enhanced d-p hybridizations were demonstrated by the first-principles calculations only when additional Coulomb repulsions are included. The density of states at the Fermi level derived from the specific-heat analysis are 3.5 and 7.5 times of the calculated ones for Ak = Rb and Cs, respectively, suggesting strong electron correlations in the title compounds.

For the disabled, paying attention to their health status is the starting point to discovering their survival problems, while meeting their care needs is the end point to solving their survival problems. As the country with the largest number of disabled elderly in the world, how to ensure this group could obtain appropriate home care is a major public health issue facing China. Thus, we conducted a cross-sectional study from October to December 2020 to explore the basic characteristics and health status of disabled elderly in different types of care who are living at home in 37 streets in Shanghai, as well as the individual care needs and its relevance. We observed the significant differences in the number of diagnoses (p = 0.03), smoking (p = 0.009), drinking (p = 0.016), exercise (p = 0.001), activity of daily living (p < 0.0001), and the quality of life (p < 0.0001) across care types. The care needs of the disabled elderly are diversified, of which a vast majority of them have not been fully guaranteed. The urgent need for improving the identification accuracy of care needs of disabled elderly, as well as the development of elaborate and personalized care programs for them, is needed.

ObjectiveTo compare the efficacy of two different surgical approaches during and after pyeloplasty according to the degree/severity of hydronephrosis factor.Materials and methodsSixty child patients with UPJ obstruction admitted to our hospital from August 2019 to October 2021 were collected. Patients who underwent retroperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty (RPLP) were enrolled into Group A (n = 20), while those who received transperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty (TLP) were selected as Group B (n = 40). Clinical parameters, including gender, age, laterality of UPJ obstruction, degree/severity of hydronephrosis, body weight, operation time, drainage tube indwelling time, complete oral feeding time, and length of hospital stay, were compared between the two groups.ResultsAll 60 child patients were operated upon successfully without conversion to open surgery. There were no statistically significant differences in gender, age, laterality of UPJ obstruction, and body weight between the two groups, while the operation time of TLP was shorter than that of RPLP, indicating a statistically significant difference (P < 0.001). The differences in complete oral feeding time, drainage tube indwelling time, and length of hospital stay were statistically significant between the two groups, and RPLP was superior to TLP in terms of postoperative recovery time (P < 0.001). A stratified comparison showed that there were no statistically significant differences in anteroposterior diameter ≤ 20 mm, while there were statistically significant differences in anteroposterior diameter >20 mm. Hydronephrosis is reviewed after 3 months of the operation, degree/severity of hydronephrosis have been reduced.ConclusionBoth RPLP and TLP are safe and feasible in the treatment of UPJ obstruction, and their overall surgical effects are equivalent. For child patients with anteroposterior diameter ≤ 20 mm, RPLP is available, while patients with anteroposterior diameter >20 mm, TLP is recommended.

The use of underground spaces is becoming increasingly important in this era of rapid urbanization and population growth. However, underground spaces are susceptible to water ingress, which may trigger the deterioration of their structural performance and reduce their serviceability. This highlights the importance of the proper design of lining structures with an emphasis on water penetration. This study develops a reliability-based approach to guide the design of lining structures used for underground spaces. The equivalent depth of water seepage is considered for a two-dimensional lining structure in the presence of the randomness and spatial correlation of the water seepage distribution. The probabilistic behavior of the equivalent seepage depth that is derived serves as the basis for reliability-based design of lining structures. A simple design criterion is developed. An example is presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.

This paper proposes explicit approaches for time-dependent reliability assessment of aging structures, taking into account the correlation associated with the load process and that arising from the resistance deterioration process. For the load process, temporal correlation may arise due to the impacts of underlying common causes. With this regard, a closed-form solution is developed for structural reliability, which models the sequence of load effects as a Markov process. Furthermore, the resistance deterioration is by nature a non-increasing stochastic process with autocorrelation on the temporal scale. The Gamma process is used to describe the stochastic behaviour of resistance deterioration, based on which an explicit reliability method is derived. The proposed reliability methods are straightforward to implement and thus are promising to be adopted in practical engineering regarding the safety evaluation of aging structures. Illustrative examples are presented to demonstrate the accuracy and applicability of the proposed approaches.

Background Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) features high aggressiveness, metastasis rate, drug resistance as well as poor prognosis. Osteopontin (OPN) is a key protein in the process of osteogenesis and has been found to be a new tumor marker in recent years. This study will discuss the regulatory role that OPN plays in TNBC as well as its unconcealed mechanism. Methods The cell viability was tested utilizing CCK-8 while Transwell as well as wound healing was adopted to test cell invasive and migrative capabilities. The pellet size of each group was detected by tumor-sphere formation assay. HUVEC tube formation assay was used to measure the ability of tumor cells to form blood vessels. Western blot was applied for the estimation of globule-forming-, angiogenesis-, PI3k/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway-related proteins as well as OPN. The levels of oxidative stress-related markers were assessed with the help of ELISA. Through transfection, OPN in MD-MB-436 cells was overexpressed and PI3k/Akt/mTOR pathway inhibitor LY294002 was employed for the administration of cells. After that, a series of functional experiments were implemented to investigate the mechanism of tumor cells. Finally, in vitro experiment of tumor-bearing mice were performed to verify. Results The proliferative, invasive and migrative capabilities as well as angiogenesis of TNBC cells were conspicuously ascended in contrast with non-TNBC cell lines. OPN expression in TNBC cells was dramatically enhanced. OPN upregulation rapidly elevated cell proliferative, invasive and migrative capabilities as well as angiogenesis, which may be achieved by activating PI3k/Akt/mTOR to regulate GPXX4-mediated anti-lipid peroxidation. Conclusion OPN can promote cell pelletizing and angiogenesis in TNBC by activating the PI3k/Akt/mTOR pathway to regulate GPX4-mediated anti-lipid peroxidation levels.

The antiferromagnetic topological insulator has attracted lots of attention recently, as its intrinsic magnetism and topological property make it a potential material to realize the quantum anomalous Hall effect at relative high temperature. Until now, only MnBi2Te4 is predicted and grown successfully. The other MB2T4-family materials predicted (MB2T4: M = transition metal or rare earth element, B = Bi or Sb, T = Te, Se, or S) with not only antiferromagnetic topological property but also rich and exotic topological quantum states and dynamically stable (or metastable) structure have not been realized on experiment completely. Here, MnBi2Te4 single crystals have been grown successfully by us. It shows typical antiferromagnetic character with Neel temperature of 24.5 K and a spin-flop transition at H ≈ 35,000 Oe, 1.8 K. In order to obtain the other members of MB2T4-family materials, it is necessary to understand the growth mode of MnBi2Te4. Its growth mode may be the layer-inserting growth mode based on symmetry, which is supported by our X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) result, as the intrinsic chemical states of Mn and Te of MnBi2Te4 are the same with those of inserting material α-MnTe. Understanding the growth mode of MnBi2Te4 can help us to grow the other members of MB2T4-family materials.

The performance of civil infrastructure systems is vital in supporting a community’s functionalities. Reliability assessment of these systems is a powerful approach to evaluate whether the system performance is desirably safe under the impacts of resistance degradation and non-stationary loads. A k-out-of-n system is a widely-used logic model for a system with n components, which survives (works) if at least k components work. Its special cases include a series or a parallel system. Furthermore, a weighted k-out-of-n system has components with positive integer weights and the system survives if the total weight of working components reaches the predefined threshold k. This paper proposes a method for estimating the time-dependent reliability of both ordinary and weighted k-out-of-n systems, taking into account the effects of resistance deterioration, resistance correlation and load non-stationarity, for which a mathematical solution is derived. The applicability of the proposed method is illustrated through reliability evaluation of a representative k-out-of-n system.

Background The most ordinary subtype of lung cancer is lung adenocarcinoma (LuAC), which is characterized by strong metastatic ability. And LuAC rates in Xuanwei leads to the poor prognosis and high death rate. In this study, we systematically explored the molecular mechanism of LuAC bone metastasis in Xuanwei by transcriptome sequencing. Methods RNA Sequencing was conducted to explore the noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) expression profiles in primary LuAC and LuAC bone metastasis. We identified differentially expressed mRNAs (DEmRNAs), miRNAs (DEmiRNAs), lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) and circRNAs (DEcircRNAs). Bioinformatics analyses the possible relationships and functions of the LuAC bone metastasis-related competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA). And qRT-PCR was performed to evaluate the expression of these differently expressed genes in serum. Results A total of 2,141 DEmRNAs, 43 DEmiRNAs, 136 DElncRNAs and 706 DEcircRNAs were identified in the Xuanwei patients with primary LuAC vs. LuAC bone metastasis, respectively. The circRNA/miRNA/mRNA and lncRNA/miRNA/mRNA networks of LuAC in Xuanwei with bone metastasis were built, and the gene expression mechanisms regulated by ncRNAs were unveiled via the ceRNA regulatory networks. We observe that lncRNA (ADAMTS9-AS2, TEX41, DLEU2, LINC00152)-miR-223-3p-SCARB1 and hsa_circ_0000053-miR-196a-5p/miR-196b-5p-HOXA5 ceRNA networks might play an important role in bone metastasis of Xuanwei LuAC. Conclusions We comprehensively identified ceRNA regulatory networks of LuAC in Xuanwei with bone metastasis as well as revealed the contribution of different ncRNAs expression profiles. Our data demonstrate the association between mRNAs and ncRNAs in the metastasis mechanism of LuAC in Xuanwei with bone metastasis.

The development of photosensitive slurries for additive manufacturing has attracted great interest due to their correlation with the final properties of the fabricated parts. This paper focus on the printing quality control in digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing of advanced ceramics. Systematic experiments were performed to assess the effects of the exposure time and printing angle on the three-point bending strength of the fabricated samples. The exposure time affected the bending strength of the printed zirconia ceramic dramatically. When the weak exposure time is 1 s and the strong exposure time is 13 s, the average bending strength can reach 580 MPa while Weibull modulus can reach 8.84. Meanwhile, the printing angle also affected the bending strength mechanical sample printed at 45° exhibits the worst performance.

Osteoclast (OC) abnormalities represent osteoporosis's critical mechanism (OP). OCs undergo multiple processes that range from monocytic to functional. Different drugs target OCs at different developmental stages; however, almost no Suitable drug-targeted delivery systems exist. Therefore, we designed two dual-targeting nanoparticles to target OCs at different functional stages. Using the calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor (CGRPR), which OC precursors highly express, and specific TRAPpeptides screened in the bone resorption lacuna, where mature OCs function, respectively, two types of dual-targeted nanoparticles were constructed. Afterwards, nanoparticles were grafted with hyaluronic acid (HA), which specifically binds to CD44 on the surface of the OCs.

In 2017, the World Health Organization highlighted polypharmacy as one of the key focus areas of the Global Patient Safety Challenge on Medication Safety. According to the experience of developed countries, the provision of primary pharmaceutical care plays a very important role in the intervention of polypharmacy in the elderly. It is necessary to assess the associations between elderly polypharmacy status and primary care in developing countries. The findings of this paper provide the prevalence of polypharmacy in patients with comorbid hypertension, and the factors associated with it. A total of 19,332 elderly patients with hypertension were completed, among which the mean (SD) number of diseases was 4.83 (1.99), the mean (SD) daily maximum number of drugs was 5.13 (2.89), and the rate of polypharmacy was 50.5%. Age, living areas, total number of visits, preference for medical institutions and the number of diseases were associated with polypharmacy. Among them, advanced age, greater number of visits and diseases are the risk factors of polypharmacy for elderly patients with comorbid hypertension. The rate of polypharmacy in patients who intend to seek treatment in community healthcare centers is low. A total of 9,603 pharmaceutical workers worked in Shanghai public hospitals in 2020, among them 52.0% worked in the central city area, and more than 70% worked in secondary and tertiary hospitals. There was a large mismatch between patients' medical preference and the number of pharmaceutical personnel. As a consequence, it is necessary to strengthen the development of community pharmaceutical care in primary medical institutions for elderly polypharmacy management.

BackgroundIncreased plaque vulnerability and higher lipid variability are causes of adverse cardiovascular events. Despite a close association between glucose and lipid metabolisms, the influence of elevated glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) on plaque vulnerability and lipid variability remains unclear.MethodsAmong subjects undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) from 2009 through 2019, 366 patients received intravascular optical coherence tomography (OCT) assessment and 4,445 patients underwent the scheduled follow-ups within 1 year after PCI. Vulnerability features of culprit vessels were analyzed by OCT examination, including the assessment of lipid, macrophage, calcium, and minimal fibrous cap thickness (FCT). Visit-to-visit lipid variability was determined by different definitions including standard deviation (SD), coefficient of variation (CV), and variability independent of the mean (VIM). Multivariable linear regression analysis was used to verify the influence of HbA1c on plaque vulnerability features and lipid variability. Exploratory analyses were also performed in non-diabetic patients.ResultsAmong enrolled subjects, the pre-procedure HbA1c was 5.90 ± 1.31%, and the average follow-up HbA1c was 5.98 ± 1.16%. By OCT assessment, multivariable linear regression analyses demonstrated that patients with elevated HbA1c had a thinner minimal FCT (β = −6.985, P = 0.048), greater lipid index (LI) (β = 226.299, P = 0.005), and higher macrophage index (β = 54.526, P = 0.045). Even in non-diabetic patients, elevated HbA1c also linearly decreased minimal FCT (β = −14.011, P = 0.036), increased LI (β = 290.048, P = 0.041) and macrophage index (β = 120.029, P = 0.048). Subsequently, scheduled follow-ups were performed during 1-year following PCI. Multivariable linear regression analyses proved that elevated average follow-up HbA1c levels increased the VIM of lipid profiles, including low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (β = 2.594, P < 0.001), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (β = 0.461, P = 0.044), non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (β = 1.473, P < 0.001), total cholesterol (β = 0.947, P < 0.001), and triglyceride (β = 4.217, P < 0.001). The result was consistent in non-diabetic patients and was verified when SD and CV were used to estimate variability.ConclusionIn patients undergoing elective PCI, elevated HbA1c increases the atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability and the visit-to-visit variability of lipid profiles, which is consistent in non-diabetic patients.

We present a new magnetometry method integrating an ensemble of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in a single-crystal diamond with an extended dynamic range for monitoring the fast changing magnetic-field. The NV-center spin resonance frequency is tracked using a closed-loop frequency locked technique with fast frequency hopping to achieve a 10 kHz measurement bandwidth, thus, allowing for the detection of fast changing magnetic signals up to 0.723 T/s.This technique exhibits an extended dynamic range subjected to the working bandwidth of the microwave source. This extended dynamic range can reach up to 4.3 mT, which is 86 times broader than the intrinsic dynamic range. The essential components for NV spin control and signal processing such as signal generation, microwave frequency control, data processing and readout are integrated in a board-level system. With this platform, we demonstrate broadband magnetometry with an optimized sensitivity of 4.2 nT-Hz-1/2. This magnetometry method has the potential to be implemented in a multichannel frequency locked vector magnetometer suitable for a wide range of practical applications such as magnetocardiography and high-precision current sensors., Comment: 18 pages, 9 figures

The incidence of atherosclerosis (AS), a major contributor to cardiovascular disease, is steadily rising along with an increasingly older population worldwide. Pyroptosis, a form of inflammatory programmed cell death, determines the release of pro-inflammatory mediators by endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and atheroma-associated macrophages and foam cells, thereby playing a critical role in AS progression. Canonical pyroptosis is mediated by inflammasome formation, activation of caspase-1, and maturation and release of proinflammatory cytokines. Electrical stimulation (ES) is a noninvasive, safe therapy that has been shown to alleviate symptoms in several health conditions. Here, we investigated the anti-inflammatory and anti-pyroptotic effects of ES in human THP-1 macrophages treated with the dipeptidyl peptidase inhibitor Val-boroPro (VbP). We found that ES downregulated NOD-like receptor family protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, ASC, and caspase-1 expression and abrogated the release of Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and Interleukin-18 (IL-18), indicating effective pyroptosis inhibition. These changes were paralleled by a reduction in reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, reversal of VbP-induced sirtuin3 (Sirt3) downregulation, deacetylation of ATG5, and induction of autophagy. These findings suggest that ES may be a viable strategy to counteract pyroptosis-mediated inflammation in AS by raising Sirt3 to promote autophagy and inhibit ROS generation.

Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) are environmentally efficient energy conversion devices, but are partially limited by the complicated fabrication procedure. In this work, dense 8 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia (8YSZ) ceramics were successfully realized through a DLP (digital light processing) stereolithography method and the electrolyte self-supported fuel cell was also tested at 800 °C. The sintering behavior of the as-printed planar samples were investigated and a fully dense ceramic can be achieved at 1450 °C. The total conductivity of the sintered 8YSZ can reach 2.18 × 10−2 S cm−1 at a test temperature of 800 °C, which is acceptable for practical application. For the electrolyte self-supported fuel cell test, a power density of 114.3 mW cm−2 can be achieved when Ni-8YSZ cermet and La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 (LSM) were used as anode and cathode. It was demonstrated that 3D printing is a promising processing technique to build up electrolyte self-supported SOFCs with desired structure for the future development.

Mn-based ZrCuSiAs-type pnictides ThMnPnN (Pn = P, As) containing PbO-type Th2N2 layers were synthesized. The crystal and magnetic structures are determined using X-ray and neutron powder diffraction. While neutron diffraction indicates a C-type antiferromagnetic state at 300 K, the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility shows cusps at 36 and 52 K respectively for ThMnPN and ThMnAsN. The susceptibility cusps are ascribed to a spontaneous antiferromagnetic-to-antiferromagnetic transition for Mn2+ moments, which is observed for the first time in Mn-based ZrCuSiAs-type compounds. In addition, measurements of the resistivity and specific heat suggest an abnormal increase in the density of states at the Fermi energy. The result is discussed in terms of the internal chemical pressure effect.

Based on anti-perovskite Mn3ZnN, the negative thermal expansion (NTE) temperature can be effectively broadened via co-substituting Sn, Mn. Using optimized components, the room-temperature NTE effect covering a wide temperature range can be realized. Both the competing ferromagnetic order from Mn and local lattice disorder from Sn should be the reason for the physical origination of the broadening of the NTE temperature. By compositing with epoxy, the low thermal expansion could be achieved around room temperature, which exhibits great potential in the field of electronic packaging.

We have synthesized a new series of layered oxyselenides La2O3(Mn1−xCox)2Se2 through a solid state reaction method. Their structure and physical properties were studied through powder X-ray diffraction, electric transport measurements, absorption spectroscopy, bulk magnetization and specific heat experiments. These compounds crystallize in layered structures with the space group I4/mmm. All the samples present semiconducting or insulating behavior with the activation energy ranging from 0.134 eV to 0.400 eV. The ferromagnetic (FM) component is induced as Co enters the lattice, and the FM component raises to its maximum when x is 0.6. The competing of FM and antiferromagnetic (AFM) components led to the emergence of a spin-glass like behavior in the intermediate alloys.

The Pb39Bi25Sn36 alloy was directionally solidified at varied withdrawal rates followed by quenching. From metallographic observation, composition analysis and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis, the solidification sequence of Pb39Bi25Sn36 alloy was characterized. The Sn-dendrite is observed as the primary phase during solidification, followed by the β(Pb7 Bi3 )/Sn divorced eutectic. At lower temperatures, the β(Pb7Bi3 )/Sn binary eutectic is formed in the interdendritic region. However, the quasi-peritectic reaction [L+α-Pb→β(Pb7 Bi3 )+Sn] does not occur as the prediction based on ternary phase diagram analysis, which can be attributed to the unequilibrium solidfication condition. Moreover, the as-cast microstructure is significantly refined with the increasing withdrawal rates. The quenched sample only exhibits the lamellar structure of Sn, β(Pb7Bi3) and Bi phases. The results can provide instructions to optimize the as-cast microstructure of ternary alloys with quasi-peritectic reaction.

Active immunization is a crucial colony-level pathogen defense to improve the survival of eusocial termites, which limits the lethal effect of biopesticides for termite control. Here, we report a possible strategy for RNAi-mediated metabolic disorders, which causes reduction in insect pathogen defense and might facilitate the foundation of nontoxic and sustainable pest control methods. Isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) was significantly upregulated by active immunization in termites, but its regulatory mechanism has yet to be well understood. We found that dsIDH-injected termites exhibited significantly reduced IDH at mRNA and protein levels and altered levels of isocitrate and NADH, indicating the impaired NAD+-IDH reaction. IDH-silenced termites displayed metabolic disorders, which was implied by significant changes in several metabolites from the carbohydrates and amino acids. When grooming toward fungus-exposed termites, IDH-silenced nestmates showed a significant upregulation of four apoptosis-related genes and caspase 3 activity, and hence the significantly increased rate of apoptosis. These physiological changes led to more apoptotic cell death in different body parts of the nestmates. In particular, more apoptotic cells increased disease susceptibility of the nestmates as revealed by growth of the significantly increased number of colony-forming units from dissected gut contents. Furthermore, the IDH-silenced nestmates exhibited lower antifungal activity and higher mortality, suggesting that IDH downregulation disrupted active immunization against fungal pathogens in termites. These findings illustrated the metabolic regulation of active immunization and provide a sound foundation for enhancing the impact of biopesticides by reducing the pathogen defense of hosts.

Background: Dyslipidemia is one of the risks of coronary atherosclerosis disease (CAD). Intensive-dose statins or combining with ezetimibe are widely used to improve the lipid-lowering efficacy in the clinic. Recently, lipid variability has gradually gained attention to be a more reliable predictor of cardiovascular events. We aimed to investigate the variability in plasma lipids in the above two lipid-lowering strategy.Methods: It was a multicenter retrospective study, a total of 1275 patients with CAD from January 2009 to April 2019 were divided into 2 groups: intensive statins (atorvastatin 40 mg/d or rosuvastatin 20 mg/d) group and conventional-dose statins (atorvastatin 20 mg/d or rosuvastatin 10 mg/d) combined with ezetimibe group. All patients were followed up for at least 1-year. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the association of two lipid-lowering regimens with plasma lipids variability; and subgroup analyses of the relevant factors were applied. All verifications are verified by standard deviation (SD), coefficient of variation (CV), and variability independent of mean (VIM) triple methods.Results: In the overall participants, the mean age was 62.3±10.4 years old, and 72.8% was male. Multivariate linear regression indicated that intensive statins group had lower variability in total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C) in all SD, CV, and VIM triple methods than statins combined with ezetimibe group (p for all Conclusions: Intensive statins therapy has lower variability in TC, LDL-C, and non-HDL-C, that is, better lipids stability than statins combined with ezetimibe therapy in patients with CAD.

The durability design of reinforced concrete (RC) structures that are exposed to aggressive environmental attacks (e.g., corrosion due to chloride ingress in marine environment) plays a vital role in ensuring the structural serviceability within a reference period of interest. Existing approaches for the durability design and assessment of RC structures have, for the most part, not considered the spatial distribution of corrosion-related structural properties. In this paper, a closed-form approach is developed for durability assessment of RC structures, where the structural dimension, spatial variability, and correlation of structural properties such as the concrete cover thickness and the chloride diffusion coefficient are taken into account. The corrosion and crack initiations of an emerged tube tunnel segment that was used in the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge project were assessed to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach. The accuracy of the method was verified through a comparison with Monte Carlo simulation results based on two-dimensional random field modeling. The proposed method can be used to efficiently assess the durability performance of RC structures in the marine environment and has the potential to become an efficient tool to guide the durability design of RC structures subjected to corrosion.

Bone metastasis is one of the most serious complications in lung cancer patients. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in tumour development, progression and metastasis. A previous study showed that miR-106a is highly expressed in the tissues of lung adenocarcinoma with bone metastasis, but its mechanism remains unclear. In this study, we showed that miR-106a expression is dramatically increased in lung cancer patients with bone metastasis (BM) by immunohistochemical analysis. MiR-106a promoted A549 and SPC-A1 cell proliferation, migration and invasion in vitro. The results of bioluminescence imaging (BLI), micro-CT and X-ray demonstrated that miR-106a promoted bone metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma in vivo. Mechanistic investigations revealed that miR-106a upregulation promoted metastasis by targeting tumour protein 53-induced nuclear protein 1 (TP53INP1)-mediated metastatic progression, including cell migration, autophagy-dependent death and epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT). Notably, autophagy partially attenuated the effects of miR-106a on promoting bone metastasis in lung adenocarcinoma. These findings demonstrated that restoring the expression of TP53INP1 by silencing miR-106a may be a novel therapeutic strategy for bone metastatic in lung adenocarcinoma.

This research assesses the effects of COVID-19-associated shocks on financial constraints and sustainable development goal (SDG) performance to shed light on the impact of SDGs on economic recovery. We construct a large sample of Chinese listed firms from quarterly firm-level accounting data from the China Stock MarketAccounting Research Database for the period 2019Q1-2021Q1, matched with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) scores, SDG performance from the WIND Database, and complemented with data on cumulative and new cases of COVID-19 from the World Health Organization. We use difference-in-differences to investigate any causal effect from COVID-19. We find that COVID-19 induces financial constraints in firms. Further, differing from the existing literature on the determinants of SDGs, we explore the supportive role of SDG performance on firm financial performance and show that ESG can better describe SDG performance and alleviate financial constraints. Moreover, both internal and external financial intermediaries improve with enhanced ESG performance in overcoming financial constraints. Our findings strongly indicate that a sustainable development strategy facilitates efficient adaptation to financial challenges and assists in overcoming external shocks.Cette étude évalue les effets des chocs associés à la COVID-19 sur les contraintes financières et la performance des objectifs de développement durable (ODD) pour mettre en lumière l'impact des ODD sur la reprise économique. Nous rassemblons un large échantillon d'entreprises chinoises cotées en Bourse à partir de données comptables trimestrielles émanant de la base de données de recherche sur la comptabilité et sur le marché boursier chinois, du premier trimestre 2019 au premier trimestre 2021. Ces données sont appariées avec des critères environnementaux, sociaux et de gouvernance (ESG), avec la performance des ODD tirée de la base de données WIND, et sont complétées par des données issues de l'Organisation mondiale de la santé sur le nombre de cas cumulatifs et de nouveaux cas de COVID-19. Nous utilisons la méthode des différences de différences pour étudier l’effet de causalité lié à la COVID-19. Nous constatons que la COVID-19 provoque des contraintes financières au sein des entreprises. De plus, contrairement à ce qui est réalisé dans la littérature existante sur les déterminants des ODD, nous explorons le rôle d’appui que jouent les bons résultats des ODD sur la performance financière des entreprises et montrons que les critères ESG permettent de décrire de façon plus adéquate les résultats des ODD et d’alléger les contraintes financières. De plus, les intermédiaires financiers à la fois internes et externes, grâce à de meilleures performances des critères ESG, sont en gré d’améliorer leur réponse aux contraintes financières. Nos résultats fournissent des donnéees probantes selon lesquelles une stratégie de développement durable facilite une adaptation efficiente aux défis financiers et aide à surmonter les chocs externes.

Understanding the chemical states and electronic states of superconducting materials can help researchers to grasp their superconducting mechanisms. Then, through doping, high pressure or other methods, the T c (Critical Temperature) can be boosted. Recently, a new layered carbide superconductor ThMo2Si2C was discovered. Its chemical states and electronic states are unknown. Here, the chemical states of ThMo2Si2C are investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy assisted with argon ion sputtering and Raman spectroscopy. The physical significance behind them is elucidated. Its electronic states are investigated by first-principles calculations. It is found that the major contribution to the total DOS (Density of States) is from Mo 4d state, which plays the dominant role in the superconductivity of ThMo2Si2C. The hybridization between Th 6d and Mo 4d is very weak. Thus, a separation of the structure into independent Mo-C-Si and Th subunits (layers) is justified from the point of view of electronic structure. A flat band along the A-M high-symmetry direction is observed near the Fermi level. The influence of the interlayer distance between Mo-C-Si units (layers) on the DOS and band structure is investigated by first-principles calculations too.
