Ru/Al2O3 ist ein au��erordentlich stabiler, aber weniger aktiver Katalysator f��r Methanisierungs-Reaktionen. Hier berichten wir ��ber einen neuartigen Ansatz, mit dem die Aktivit��t dieser Katalysatoren bei der Methanisierung von CO2 in CO2/H2-Gemischen erheblich gesteigert werden kann. Hochaktive und -stabile Ru/��-Al2O3-Katalysatoren wurden ��ber eine Hochtemperatur-Behandlung im reduktiven Reaktionsgasgemisch erhalten. Operando/In-situ-Spektroskopie und Rastertransmissionselektronenmikroskopie (STEM)-Abbildungen zeigen, dass die deutlich erh��hte Aktivit��t f��r die Methanisierung von CO bzw. CO2 mit einer Abflachung der Ru-Nanopartikel und der Bildung von stark basischen Pl��tzen auf dem hydroxylierten Aluminiumoxid einhergeht. Here we report an effective approach to significantly improve its performance in the methanation of $CO_2/H_2$ mixtures. Highly active and stable $Ru/γ‐Al_{2}O_{3}$ catalysts were prepared by high-temperature treatment in the reductive reaction gas. Operando / in situ spectroscopy and STEM imaging reveals that the strongly improved activity, by factors of 5 and 14 for $CO$ and $CO_2$ methanation, goes along with a flattening of the Ru nanoparticles and the formation of highly basic hydroxylated alumina sites. We propose an activated modification of the metal-support interactions (MSIs) as origin of the increased activity, caused by reactive modification of the $Al_2O_3$ surface in the reductive atmosphere and increased thermal mobility of the Ru nanoparticles, allowing their transfer to modified surface sites. Directional protective relaying based on amplitude comparison of traveling wave on continuous co-phase auto-transformer(AT) power transmission system was proposed. Phase-model transformation is used for decoupling transient fault signals and get aerial mode component. The forward and backward traveling wave are obtained by calculating aerial mode component, then the intrinsic mode function(IMF) components can be obtained through Variational Mode Decomposition(VMD), the module maxima are obtained through calculating the IMF components. The fault direction is determined by the ratio of fault components. If two faults relays at the ends of electric traction networks detect a fault to be in the forward direction, the fault occurred in the internal area, the protection would operate properly. The simulation tests indicate that the protection scheme is feasible, and the proposed protection method can discriminate internal faults from external faults under various fault types, and its performances are immune to fault initial angle, ground resistance, etc.

While being highly active for the CO oxidation reaction already at low temperatures, Au/CeO2 catalysts suffer from continuous deactivation with time on stream, with the activity and deactivation depending on the initial catalyst activation procedure. In previous X-ray absorption measurements at the Au LIII edge, which focused on changes in the electronic and geometric changes of Au, we found a modest increase of the Au particle size during reaction, with the Au nanoparticles (NPs) present in a dominantly metallic state during reaction, regardless of the pretreatment. Here we aim at expanding on these insights by examining the changes in electronic and chemical composition of the CeO2 support induced by different pretreatment procedures and during subsequent CO oxidation at 80 &deg, C, by following changes at the Ce LIII near edge region in time-resolved operando X-ray absorption measurements. The results indicate a strong dependence of the initial concentration of Ce3+ ions on the pretreatment, while during subsequent reaction this rapidly approaches a steady-state value which depends on the oxidative/reductive character of the reaction gas mixture, but is largely independent of the pretreatment. These results are discussed and related to earlier finding on the electronic properties of Au nanoparticles under identical reaction conditions.

Background Waterfowl parvoviruses, including goose parvovirus (GPV) and Muscovy duck parvovirus (MDPV), can cause seriously diseases in geese and ducks. Developing a fast and precise diagnosis assay for these two parvoviruses is particularly important. Results A duplex SYBR Green I-based quantitative real-time PCR assay was developed for the simultaneous detection and differentiation of GPV and MDPV. The assay yielded melting curves with specific single peak (Tm = 87.3 ± 0.26 °C or Tm = 85.4 ± 0.23 °C) when GPV or MDPV was evaluated, respectively. When both parvoviruses were assessed in one reaction, melting curves with specific double peaks were yielded. Conclusion This duplex quantitative RT-PCR can be used to rapid identify of GPV and MDPV in field cases and artificial trials, which make it a powerful tool for diagnosing, preventing and controlling waterfowl parvovirus infections.

An efficient multi-mode energy equalizer for lithium-ion battery packs is proposed and energy balance strategies are studied in this paper. The energy balance strategies include the selection of the controlled object in the battery’s different working states and the current form of the controlled object. During the energy balancing process, the strongest single cell or the weakest single cell is selected as the controlled object according to the different working states of the battery, and the balanced current of the controlled object is continuous. Therefore, the energy equalizer proposed in this paper has a fast balancing speed, an improved balancing effect, and an excellent balancing reliability. According to the energy equalizer, the relevant experimental platform was built, and balance experiments in the battery’s different working states using a battery pack composed of four serially-connected lithium iron phosphate batteries were completed. Finally, the experimental results proved the effectiveness of the energy equalizer.

To determine the origin and evolution of goose parvovirus (GPV) and Muscovy duck parvovirus (MDPV) in the Mainland of China, phylogenetic and recombination analyses in the present study were performed on 32 complete VP1 gene sequences from China and other countries. Based on the phylogenetic analysis of the VP1 gene, GPV strains studied here from Mainland China (PRC) could be divided into three genotypes, namely PRC-I, PRC-II and PRC-III. Genotype PRC-I is indigenous to Mainland China. Only one GPV strain from Northeast China was of Genotype PRC-II and was thought to be imported from Europe. Genotype PRC-III, which was the most isolated genotype during 1999-2012, is related to GPVs in Taiwan and has been the predominant pathogen responsible for recent Derzy's disease outbreaks in Mainland China. Current vaccine strains used in Mainland China belong to Genotype PRC-I that is evolutionary distant from Genotypes PRC-II and PRC-III. In comparison, MDPV strains herein from Mainland China are clustered in a single group which is closely related to Taiwanese MDPV strains, and the full-length sequences of the VP1 gene of China MDPVs are phylogenetic closely related to the VP1 sequence of a Hungarian MDPV strain. Moreover, We also found that homologous recombination within VP1 gene plays a role in generating genetic diversity in GPV evolution. The GPV GDFSh from Guangdong Province appears to be the evolutionary product of a recombination event between parental GPV strains GD and B, while the major parent B proved to be a reference strain for virulent European GPVs. Our findings provide valuable information on waterfowl parvoviral evolution in Mainland China.

The complete sequence of a reovirus, strain NP03 associated with necrotic focus formation in the liver and spleen of Muscovy ducklings in Fujian Province, China in 2009, was determined and compared with sequences of other waterfowl and chicken-origin avian reoviruses (ARVs). Sequencing of the complete genomes of strain NP03 showed that they consisted of 23,418 bp and were divided into 10 segments, ranging from 1191 bp (S4) to 3959 bp (L1) in length, and all segments contained conserved sequences in the 5' non-coding region (GCUUUU) and 3' non-coding region (UCAUC). Pairwise sequence comparisons demonstrated that NP03 strain showed the highest similarity with novel waterfowl origin reoviruses (WRVs). The genome analysis revealed that the S1 segment of novel WRV is a tricistronic gene, encoding the overlapping open reading frames (ORFs) for p10, p18, and σC, similar to the ARV S1 gene, but distinct from classical WRV S4 genome segment, which contained two overlapping ORFs encoding p10 and σC. Phylogenetic analyses of the nucleotide sequences of all 10 segments revealed that NP03 strain was clustered together with other novel WRVs and were distinct from classical WRVs and chicken-origin ARVs. The analyses also showed possible intra-segmental reassortment events in the segments encoding λA, λB, μB, μNS, σA, and σNS between novel and classical WRVs. Potential recombination events detection in segment L1 suggests that NP03 strain may be recombinants of novel WRVs. Based on our genetic analyses, multiple reassortment events, intra-segmental recombination, and accumulation of point mutations have possibly contributed to the emergence of this novel genotype of WRV, identified in China.

A real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for the detection of Muscovy duck reovirus (MDRV) RNA in clinical samples is described. The assay is based on TaqMan-MGB technology, consisting of two primers and one probe labeled with the reporter dye 6-carboxyfluorescein that binds selectively to the sigma B-protein gene of MDRV. This technique also includes an Internal Positive Control (IPC). The real-time RT-PCR assay was able to detect MDRVs, whereas other common waterfowl-origin viral pathogens were not recognised by the established oligonucleotide set, thus showing that the test was specific for MDRV. The sensitivity of the assay was 2.83 × 101 copies/μL and was 100 times higher than that of the conventional RT-PCR. The variation coefficients of intra-assay and inter-assay were less than 1.5% which verified sufficient repeatability of this assay. The use of β-actin mRNA as an IPC in order not to reduce the efficiency of the assay was adopted. The detection for 100 clinical samples showed that the positive rate of the established TaqMan-MGB real-time RT-PCR method was 87% (87/100), while the positive rate of the conventional RT-PCR was 83% (83/100), with the coincidence rate was 97.14%. Sensitivity and positive rate for clinical samples of TaqMan fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR were higher than conventional RT-PCR. The high specificity, sensitivity, and rapidity TaqMan-MGB real-time RT-PCR assay with the use of IPC to monitor for false negative results can make this method suitable for the pathogenic surveillance and epidemiological investigation of MDRV infection.
