[Objective] Thylakoids are the important sites where photosynthesis takes place. The thylakoid membrane envelops form a central aqueous region known as the thylakoid lumen. There are various types of proteins residing in thylakoid lumen, including high chlorophyll fluorescence (HCF) proteins, immunophilins, oxygen-evolving complex (OEC) proteins, and PsbP-like proteins, etc. These proteins are considered to play important roles during various physiological processes, such as photosynthesis, nucleotide metabolism, and redox regulation. [Reviews] This review summarized the function of the thylakoid lumen proteins involved in photosynthesis regulation, such as photosystem assembly, growth regulation, and excess light stress response. [Prospect] The review provided the theoretical reference for future study on the physiological function of the thylakoid lumen proteins.

Abstract Disseminated Cryptococcosis infection typically occurs in immunocompromised patients, often manifested as pneumonia or meningoencephalitis. Cases with involvement of either prostate or adrenal glands are less frequent. We describe a case of an immunocompromised 62-year-old man with new-found Idiopathic CD4 + T lymphocytopenia who presented with urinary irritation symptoms followed by headache. The patient was finally diagnosed as disseminated cryptococcosis of prostate, adrenal gland involvement with the help of combining histopathology of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue with metagenomic next-generation sequencing technique to identify C neoformans sensu stricto in prostate, adrenal gland tissues. Clinicians should be aware of atypical presentations of cryptococcal disease. In this case of cryptococcosis in immunocompromised patients, we find that cryptococcosis can affect varied organs simultaneously and should be considered in the differential of infectious diseases. And mNGS technology helps to confirm the diagnosis.

In order to solve the problem of the lack of maneuverability of the conventional underwater glider, this paper proposes a hybrid-driven underwater glider equipped with a Kappel tip rake propeller, analyzes the propulsion performance of different types of Kappel tip rake propellers in the wake field of the hybrid-driven underwater glider, optimizes the overall propulsion performance of the hybrid-driven underwater glider, and realizes self-propulsion and gliding with high efficiency and low energy consumption. In the research process, the Schnerr–Sauer cavitation model and the cavitation simulation strategy of VOF two-phase flow were adopted, coupled with the SST k-ω and γ transition turbulence model, and the control calculation error was not more than 3%. Based on the hydrodynamic performance study of the Kappel tip rake propeller, the self-propelled simulation was carried out under the working conditions of 6 kn, 5 kn, 4 kn, and 3 kn, and the gliding simulation was carried out under the working conditions of 1 kn, 0.5 kn, and a glide angle of 12°. The propulsion performance of the hybrid-driven underwater glider with different models of Kappel tip rake propellers was analyzed. It was found that the maximum open water propulsion efficiency of the propeller Kap05 had the largest improvement, which was 3.07% higher than that of the reference base propeller. Under the self-propelled condition, the hybrid-driven underwater glider with the propeller Kap05 had the lowest wake fraction, and the propellers Kap04 and Kap05 had the best propulsion performance in the wake field of the hybrid-driven underwater glider. In the gliding condition, the form of the folding paddle can reduce the gliding resistance generated by the propeller by more than 45% and the gliding negative lift by more than 68%. A moderate tip rake can effectively improve the propulsion efficiency of the Kappel tip rake propeller in the wake field of the hybrid-driven underwater glider, reduce energy loss, and improve the overall performance of the hybrid-driven underwater glider.

This paper proposes a kinetostatic approach for analyzing the joint torques of a redundant snake robot. The method is suitable for weightless space environments. With the high degree of freedom and flexible cable actuation, the redundant snake robot is well-suited for utilization in space-weightless environments. This method reduces computational cost by using the multiplication of matrices and vectors instead of inverse matrices. Taking advantage of the velocity screw (twist) and force screw (wrench), this strategy provides an idea for redundant serial robots to achieve the calculation of joint torques. This methodology is straightforward for programming and has good computational efficiency. The instantaneous work performed by the actuation is expressed with the force screw. According to the principle of virtual work, the kinetostatic equation of the robot can be obtained and the torque required for each joint can be determined. Meanwhile, to solve the inertia force generated by joint acceleration, D’Alembert’s principle is adopted to transform the dynamic problem into a static problem. Through kinetostatic analysis of a redundant snake robot, this paper shows the approach of establishing the kinetostatic model to calculate the torque in screw form. At the same time, the actuation distribution of the redundant snake robot is also cracked effectively for practical purposes. Due to the difficulty of achieving weightless space environments, this paper validates the method by using ADAMS simulation without gravity in the simulation.

IntroductionPeritoneal dialysis (PD)-related peritonitis is one of the leading causes of discontinuation of PD and is considered a critically important outcome for patients on PD. However, there is no universally accepted method of measuring this outcome in clinical trials.MethodsWe convened an online consensus workshop to establish a core outcome measure for PD-related peritonitis in clinical trials.ResultsA total of 53 participants, including 18 patients and caregivers, from 12 countries engaged in breakout discussions in this workshop. Transcripts were analyzed thematically. We identified the following 3 themes: (i) feasibility and applicability across diverse settings, which reflected the difficulty with implementing laboratory-based measures in resource-limited environments; (ii) ensuring validity, which included minimizing false positives and considering the specificity of symptoms; and (iii) being meaningful and tangible to patients, which meant that the measure should be easy to interpret, reflect the impact that symptoms have on patients, and promote transparency by standardizing the reporting of peritonitis among dialysis units.ConclusionA core outcome measure for PD-related peritonitis should include both symptom-based and laboratory-based criteria. Thus, the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis (ISPD) definition of peritonitis is acceptable. However, there should be consideration of reporting suspected peritonitis in cases where laboratory confirmation is not possible. The measure should include all infections from the time of catheter insertion and capture both the rate of infection and the number of patients who remain peritonitis free. A core outcome measure with these features would increase the impact of clinical trials on the care and decision-making of patients receiving PD.
