In this paper, we study the existence of random periodic solutions for nonlinear stochastic differential equations with additive white noise. We extend the input-to-state characteristic operator of the system to the non-autonomous stochastic differential equation via the pull-back of the discretised stochastic differential equation. We then use the completeness of the measurable function space which we construct skillfully and the Banach fixed point theorem to prove the existence of a fixed point of the gain operator. And we prove that the image for the input-to-state characteristic operator at this fixed point is a random periodic solution for the forward stochastic flow generated by the non-autonomous stochastic differential equation. Finally, we present some examples.

Reconstructing the shape and appearance of real-world objects using measured 2D images has been a long-standing problem in computer vision. In this paper, we introduce a new analysis-by-synthesis technique capable of producing high-quality reconstructions through robust coarse-to-fine optimization and physics-based differentiable rendering. Unlike most previous methods that handle geometry and reflectance largely separately, our method unifies the optimization of both by leveraging image gradients with respect to both object reflectance and geometry. To obtain physically accurate gradient estimates, we develop a new GPU-based Monte Carlo differentiable renderer leveraging recent advances in differentiable rendering theory to offer unbiased gradients while enjoying better performance than existing tools like PyTorch3D and redner. To further improve robustness, we utilize several shape and material priors as well as a coarse-to-fine optimization strategy to reconstruct geometry. We demonstrate that our technique can produce reconstructions with higher quality than previous methods such as COLMAP and Kinect Fusion.

We consider the large time behavior of strong solutions to a kind of stochastic Burgers equation, where the position x is perturbed by a Brownian noise. It is well known that both the rarefaction wave and viscous shock wave are time-asymptotically stable for deterministic Burgers equation since the pioneer work of A. Ilin and O. Oleinik [21] in 1964. However, the stability of these wave patterns under stochastic perturbation is not known until now. In this paper, we give a definite answer to the stability problem of the rarefaction and viscous shock waves for the 1-d stochastic Burgers equation. That is, the rarefaction wave is still stable under white noise perturbation and the viscous shock is not stable yet. Moreover, a time-convergence rate toward the rarefaction wave is obtained. To get the desired decay rate, an important inequality (denoted by Area Inequality) is derived. This inequality plays essential role in the proof, and may have applications in the related problems for both the stochastic and deterministic PDEs.

Quantum spin liquids (QSLs) are an exotic state of matter that is subject to extensive research. However, the relationship between the ubiquitous disorder and the QSL behaviors is still unclear. Here, by performing comparative experimental studies on two kagom\'{e}-lattice QSL candidates, Tm$_3$Sb$_3$Zn$_2$O$_{14}$ and Tm$_3$Sb$_3$Mg$_2$O$_{14}$, which are isostructural to each other but with strong and weak structural disorder, respectively, we show unambiguously that the disorder can induce spin-liquid-like features. In particular, both compounds show dominant antiferromagnetic interactions with a Curie-Weiss temperature of -17.4 and -28.7 K for Tm$_3$Sb$_3$Zn$_2$O$_{14}$ and Tm$_3$Sb$_3$Mg$_2$O$_{14}$, respectively, but remain disordered down to about 0.05 K. Specific heat results suggest the presence of gapless magnetic excitations characterized by a residual linear term. Magnetic excitation spectra obtained by inelastic neutron scattering (INS) at low temperatures display broad continua. All these observations are consistent with those of a QSL. However, we find in Tm$_3$Sb$_3$Zn$_2$O$_{14}$ which has strong disorder resulting from the random mixing of the magnetic Tm$^{3+}$ and nonmagnetic Zn$^{2+}$, that the low-energy magnetic excitations observed in the specific heat and INS measurements are substantially enhanced, compared to those of Tm$_3$Sb$_3$Mg$_2$O$_{14}$ which has much less disorder. We believe that the effective spins of the Tm$^{3+}$ ions in the Zn$^{2+}$/Mg$^{2+}$ sites give rise to the low-energy magnetic excitations, and the amount of the random occupancy determines the excitation strength. Perfect channel state information (CSI) is usually required when considering relay selection and power allocation in cooperative communication. However, it is difficult to get an accurate CSI in practical situations. In this letter, we study the outage probability minimizing problem based on optimizing relay selection and transmission power. We propose a prioritized experience replay aided deep deterministic policy gradient learning framework, which can find an optimal solution by dealing with continuous action space, without any prior knowledge of CSI. Simulation results reveal that our approach outperforms reinforcement learning based methods in existing literatures, and improves the communication success rate by about 4%.

The elementary excitations from the conventional magnetic ordered states, such as ferromagnets and antiferromagnets, are magnons. Here, we elaborate a case where the well-defined magnons are absent completely and the spin excitation spectra exhibit an entire continuum in the itinerant edge ferromagnetic state of graphene arising from the flatband edge electronic states. Based on the further studies of the entanglement entropy and finite-size analysis, we show that the continuum other than the Stoner part results from the spin-1/2 spinons deconfined from magnons. The spinon continuum in a magnetically ordered state is ascribed to a ferromagnetic Luttinger liquid in this edge ferromagnet. We proved that there exists a unique invariant measure for solutions of stochastic conservation laws with Dirichlet boundary condition driven by multiplicative noise. Moreover, a polynomial mixing property is established. This is done in the setting of kinetic solutions taking values in an L^1-weighted space.

We perform thermodynamic and inelastic neutron scattering (INS) measurements to study the lattice dynamics (phonons) of a cubic collinear antiferromagnet Cu$_3$TeO$_6$ which hosts topological spin excitations (magnons). While the specific heat and thermal conductivity results show that the thermal transport is dominated by phonons, the deviation of the thermal conductivity from a pure phononic model indicates that there is a strong coupling between magnons and phonons. In the INS measurements, we find a mode in the excitation spectra at 4.5 K, which exhibits a slight downward dispersion around the Brillouin zone center. This mode disappears above the N\'{e}el temperature, and thus cannot be a phonon. Furthermore, the dispersion is distinct from that of a magnon. Instead, it can be explained by the magnon-polaron mode, which is new collective excitations resulting from the hybridization between magnons and phonons. We consider the suppression of the thermal conductivity and emergence of the magnon-polaron mode to be evidence for magnon-phonon coupling in Cu$_3$TeO$_6$., Comment: 9 pages, 4 figures, formula Cu3TeO6 updated in the title and abstract

Combined heat and power systems facilitate efficient interactions between individual energy sectors for higher renewable energy accommodation. However, the feasibility of operational strategies is difficult to guarantee due to the presence of substantial uncertainties pertinent to renewable energy and multi-energy loads. This paper proposes a novel efficient robust dispatch model of combined heat and power systems based on extensions of disturbance invariant sets. The approach has high computational efficiency and provides flexible and robust strategies with an adjustable level of conservativeness. In particular, the proposed robust dispatch method obtains operational strategies by solving a nominal uncertainty-free dispatch problem, whose complexity is identical to a deterministic problem. The robustness against uncertainties is enhanced by endowing the nominal dispatch model with properly tightened constraints considering time-variant uncertainty sets. Towards this end, a novel direct constraint tightening algorithm is developed based on the dual norm to calculate multi-period tightened constraints efficiently without linear programming iterations. Furthermore, the budget uncertainty set is newly combined with constraint tightening to flexibly adjust the conservativeness level of robust solutions. The effectiveness of the proposed robust method is demonstrated in simulation studies of a test system in terms of computational efficiency, decision robustness and cost optimality., Comment: 8 pages, 12 figures

Dirac matters provide a platform for exploring the interplay of their carriers with other quantum phenomena. Sr$_{1-x}$Mn$_{1-y}$Sb$_2$ has been proposed to be a magnetic Weyl semimetal and provides an excellent platform to study the coupling between Weyl fermions and magnons. Here, we report comprehensive inelastic neutron scattering (INS) measurements on single crystals of Sr$_{1-x}$Mn$_{1-y}$Sb$_2$, which have been well characterized by magnetization and magnetotransport measurements, both of which demonstrate that the material is a topologically nontrivial semimetal. The INS spectra clearly show a spin gap of $\sim6$ meV. The dispersion in the magnetic Mn layer extends up to about 76 meV, while that between the layers has a narrow band width of 6 meV. We find that the linear spin-wave theory using a Heisenberg spin Hamiltonian can reproduce the experimental spectra with the following parameters: a nearest-neighbor ($SJ_1\sim28.0$ meV) and next-nearest-neighbor in-plane exchange interaction ($SJ_2\sim9.3$ meV) , interlayer exchange coupling ($SJ_c\sim-0.1$ meV), and spin anisotropy constant ($SD\sim-0.07$ meV). Despite the coexistence of Weyl fermions and magnons, we find no clear evidence that the magnetic dynamics are influenced by the Weyl fermions in Sr$_{1-x}$Mn$_{1-y}$Sb$_2$, possibly because that the Weyl fermions and magnons reside in the Sb and Mn layers separately, and the interlayer coupling is weak due to the quasi-two-dimensional nature of the material, as also evident from the small $SJ_c$ of -0.1 meV., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures

High penetration of residential photovoltaic (PV) in low-voltage distribution networks (LVDN) makes the unbalance issue more sever due to the asymmetry of generation/load characteristic in different phases, and may lead to infeasible operation of the whole network. Phase switching device (PSD), which can switch the connected phase of a residential load as required, is viable and efficient equipment to help address this issue. This paper, based on three-phase power flow (TUPF) formulation, aims to investigate the benefit of PSD on improving the operation feasibility of LVDN. The linear model of TUPF with PSD is presented to effectively take the flexible device into account, which can be conveniently used to seek the PSD positions that lead to a viable operation strategy of the original problem when infeasibility is reported by the traditional iteration-based algorithm.
