Abstract

For centuries, Spanish midwives provided essential care to the women in their communities. They were counsellors, wet nurses, and herbalists, as well as, aiding during labor and delivery. However, due to the professionalisation of medicine and the creation of new regulatory bodies, their position within the medical field changed. While midwives were often not allowed to be part of these regulatory bodies, such as the Protomedicato, university-educated physicians used these institutions to assert their dominance over the medical field. Thus, through various marginalisation practices against midwives, university-educated physicians attempted to undermine and limit their role within the newly established medical order. This thesis will explore the different marginalisation practices that these new institutions imposed on midwives, their effects on the trade of midwifery, and how the status of midwives and physicians evolved due to these changes.

Abstract

The D4000 spectral break index is one of the most important features in the visible spectrum, as it is a proxy for stellar ages and is also used in galaxy classification. However, its direct measurement has always been reserved to spectroscopy. Here, we present a general method to directly measure the D4000 with narrow-band (NB) photometry; it has been validated using realistic simulations, and then evaluated with PAUS NBs, cross-matched with VIPERS spectra (i AB < 22.5, 0.562 < z < 0.967). We also reconstruct the D4000 with the SED-fitting code cigale ; the use of PAUS NBs instead of broad-bands significantly improves the SED fitting results. For D4000n, the direct measurement has |$\rm \langle SNR \rangle \sim 4$|⁠ , but we find that for i AB < 21 all direct D4000 measurements have |$\rm SNR\gt 3$|⁠. The cigale D4000n has |$\rm \langle SNR \rangle \sim 20$|⁠ , but underestimates the error by >50 per cent. Furthermore, the direct method recreates well the D4000–SFR relation, as well as the D4000–mass relation for blue galaxies (for red galaxies, selection effects impact the results). On the other hand, cigale accurately classifies galaxies into red and blue populations. We conclude that the direct measurement of D4000 with narrow-band photometry is a promising tool to determine average properties of galaxy samples, with results compatible with spectroscopy. Hannah, J., et al., We present the first measurements of the projected clustering and intrinsic alignments (IA) of galaxies observed by the Physics of the Accelerating Universe Survey (PAUS). With photometry in 40 narrow optical passbands (4500 Å-8500 Å), the quality of photometric redshift estimation is σz ∼ 0.01(1 + z) for galaxies in the 19 deg2 Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Legacy Survey W3 field, allowing us to measure the projected 3D clustering and IA for flux-limited, faint galaxies (i, HJ acknowledges support from a UK STFC studentship, and from the Delta ITP consortium, a programme of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) that is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW). Abstract

El trabajo de investigación titulado: “Liderazgo directivo y la satisfacción laboral de trabajadores de una empresa del sector de servicios, Lima, 2021”. Tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el liderazgo directivo y la satisfacción laboral de trabajadores de una empresa del sector de servicios, Lima, 2021. La metodología fue tipo básica, buscó información sobre la problemática de estudio, el diseño no experimental, correlacional de corte transversal. La población censal estuvo conformada por 72 trabajadores; se emplearon dos cuestionarios uno sobre el liderazgo directivo y la satisfacción laboral, ambos cumplieron con los requisitos de validez por juicio de expertos y la confiabilidad. Se empleó la prueba Rho Spearman para determinar la relación entre variables cuyo resultado fue que el liderazgo directivo se relaciona con la satisfacción laboral, con un nivel de correlación moderado (Rho 0,474 y p-valor 0,000). 149. Relación entre la dimensión y el área de la vía aérea con la clase esquelética en tomografía CONE BEAM

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como propósito determinar dimensión y el área de la vía aérea en tomografías cone beam, y el tipo de clase esquelética para determinar si existe una relación significativa entre ellas, se evaluaron 51 tomografías, 23 pacientes de sexo masculino y 28 pacientes de sexo femenino de diferentes grupos etarios entre 6 – 59 años de edad. Los resultados obtenidos en las tomografías con clase esquelética I, II y III son semejantes en los puntos evaluados en cuanto en dimensión y área, en la Clase I esquelética la dimensión con mayor promedio se encuentra en el punto A con 18.60 ± 4mm y el área con mayor promedio es de 451.38 ±128mm y la dimensión con el menor promedio se encuentra en el punto incisivo inferior con 10.40 ± 2mm y el área con menor promedio es de 276.41 ± 104mm; en la clase II esquelética la dimensión y área con mayor promedio se encuentra en el punto A con 15.73 ± 4mm y 374.04 ± 130mm y la dimensión y área con el menor promedio se encuentra en el Punto Incisivo inferior con 10.25 ±3mm y 248.00 ±90mm; y en la clase III esquelética la dimensión y área con mayor promedio se encuentra en el punto A con 16.94 ± 2mm y con 421.50 ± 90mm y la dimensión y área con el menor promedio se encuentra en el punto incisivo inferior con 13.49 ± 3mm y con 363.24 ± 176mm, respectivamente. Estos resultados nos indican que el mayor dimensión y área de las vías aéreas tanto en la clase esquelética I, II y II, lo encontraremos a la altura del punto A, limite de nasofaringe y orofanrige, y comparando con el análisis de McNamara de las vías aéreas seria en el punto de la faringe superior. Y la menor dimensión y área de las vías aéreas en la clase esquelética I, II y III, lo encontraremos a la altura del punto incisivo inferior, punto medio de la orofaringe. Se concluye que si existe una relación estadísticamente significativa con un P del 0.05 entre la dimensión y el área de la vía aérea, entre los diferentes tipos de clase esquelética.
